WPPI Experience & Contest

Headed out to Las Vegas, NV this past Saturday knowing only to expect to be overwhelmed. I was warned that I would leave with tons of paper pamphlets, product samples and about a million emails coming to my inbox the week after. They were right. Every single one of them. My suitcase gained about 10 pounds for the flight back. WPPI stands for Wedding & Portrait Photographers International and every year they hold a conference and trade show that draws around 16,000 photographers. Rhema and I decided that this year we needed to attend and that's just what we did! Having won admission to WPPI through Twitter, we couldn't pass up this opportunity! While we were there we got to stay with Norina from Maple Hill Photography. She is sweet, full of energy and has 2 super cute kiddos! Our experience at WPPI was second to none and I came home feeling so blessed to have gone, overwhelmed with knowledge, and wanting to change a lot in my business while still holding true to my values and what I can offer my clients. I'm not sure that I could even write down everything I learned and experienced but to say the least - it was AWESOME and I can't wait to go back next year in March!

Brian & Alli's Gorgeous Fall Wedding : Fort Collins Wedding Photographer

I met Brian through nine70 and got to know him better on a missions trip to South Padre Island a few years ago. When he contacted me to photograph his wedding, I was so excited and couldn't wait to meet his lovely lady! They had a beautiful fall wedding at the Oval at Colorado State University (one of the MUST SEE locations in Fort Collins.) Alli is a quiet girl, but her love for Brain is not. Brian is her supporter, and best friend. I was honored to photograph their so perfect fall wedding this past September!

I second shot this wedding with Patrick of www.paeart.com! Abbie and Brian got married this past summer at the BEAUTIFUL Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton, CO. Those rock formations are hard to beat and make for some great photos! That night the skies also gave us quite the rain storm and I got to practice my lightning photography.. (haven't mastered that one yet!) All the shades of purple that Abbie chose to use were exquisite and provided some gorgeous colors for photos! Abbie and Brian also opted in for a First Look in order to get all their photos done before the wedding. It was so presh and I love recommending it to all of my clients who don't want to keep their guests waiting! Loved second shooting their wedding! Enjoy.

Mother & Son : Colorado Family Photographer

Nicole is a huge supporter of my work and I love her for it! She is so sweet and her son Hayden is one of the cutest little boys I have ever met. Oh, and she has a dog named Diesel. Love him too. Nicole also loves photography and vintage cameras and decided to incorporate them into her session! (even better!) This summer sesh with them was so fun and I can't wait for a session this summer with Nicole and her bike! :)

Chris + Fawn {Married} Colorado Wedding Photographer

This wedding I second shot with PAEart.com. Second shooting is always a great experience to learn from someone else's perspective! I met Chris & Fawn on the day of their wedding in Old Town Fort Collins where Patrick had begun to do their bride and groom portraits. Ben, my boyfriend, lives accross the street from where they were. I was at his house, happend to look out the window and saw a bride and groom being photographed! I quickly realized that it was them and ran over to introduce myself. I was in normal everyday, not yet properly dressed to photograph their wedding, but I didn't want to wait to meet this lovely couple! Their day was so great, perfectly planned, and BEAUTIFUL. Fawn is a florist, so naturally, all the flowers were SO AWESOME! Not one detail was overlooked. Fawn and Chris, congratulations! May you have a blessed marriage!

Taben + Liz {Married} Utah Wedding Photographer

Liz was my best friend in high school here in Fort Collins. She moved to Salt Lake to study architecture at the University of Utah and quickly fell in love with college life. She had all nighters, early mornings, huge exams and crazy projects. But like I said she loved it. So much, that she is currently working on her masters. Along that path she met Taben. I heard about Taben as soon as she met him. That's all she would talk about. School was no longer the center of the conversation. They dated for 2 years, then started planning the wedding. I flew out to Salt Lake to help put the finishing touches on wedding planning and photograph her bridals on the Salt Flats! July 9th, 2011 Taben and Liz tied the knot. Kelly & Eric {Married!} Copper Mountain Colorado Wedding Photographer

This was a wedding I second shot with PAEart.com. We headed up to Copper Mountian and I didn't really know what to expect for the day. I didn't know if I was going to be in the snow, or have to hike to the top. I wouldn't call myself an "outdoor girl," so the fact that they were getting married on the top of Copper freaked me out a little bit. But then I found out that I was going to ride a chair lift to the top, and then, I was stoked! It was bound to be a beautiful, warm, and perfect day. It was. Kelly and Eric were so great, their guests fully enjoyed themselves, I loved the chair lift and everything about a Copper Mountain, Colorado summer wedding! Enjoy!

Jacy & Baby {Colorado Maternity Photography}

Jacy and I have some mutual friends and that's how she heard about me. I was a bit nervous for her shoot because I had only done one other shoot like this before. As soon as I met Jacy my ancy pants were calm. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We quickly got started with her little cowboy themed shoot. The baby John Deere boots are to die for! Everytime I took a shot of them the only think I could say was "these are SO cute!" She agreed. You will too when you see them. I could go on about them all day. I'll stop now. Anyways... Jacy is due any day now and will be a wonderful mother with her beautiful heart and sincerity. Enjoy.

Every year since I graduated I have attended the Prom Fashion Show at the high school I went to. (I planned the Prom Fashion Show my senior year, so it's near and dear to my heart!) This year I decided to give away a free senior shoot for one lucky senior who attended the show. Carlye was the lucky winner! Lindsey (the cute one with the sassy dark hair) and I were great friends growing up in youth group and high school together. When she contacted me about doing a shoot with her dad and sister for father's day, I was overjoyed. Lindsey has always been the one to bring fun to a group and make you feel at ease. I knew this shoot was going to be a blast! Although we had to press pause on the shoot half way through because of wind and rain, that didn't get anyone's spirits down or make a difference in the photos. They ALL were GREAT! This fun fam was so happy the whole time which makes my job easy. They were wonderful and pretty much my dream family to photograph. I am humbly proud of these photos. Enjoy.

Ashely and her husband Corey have been married for 2 and a half years. They decided to have a non-traditional wedding and just go straight to the Justice of the Peace here in Fort Collins, CO. The next day they moved to Florida to start their married life! They have since moved back to FoCo, they have an adorable 1 year old named Ava, and Ben and I love spending time with them. Since having a non-traditional wedding, Ashley has always wanted to show off her beautiful wedding dress. So, I sent her a text to ask if she wanted to play in it, and she excitedly agreed! She is beautiful and her dress is so perfect for her. She rocked it. Enjoy.

Salt Flat Bridals

This lovely lady was my best friend in high school. After high school, she followed her dreams and went to college to study architecture at the University of Utah (where she is now working on her masters, smarty pants!) And it was there, that she fell in love. Taben and Liz dated for 2 years before getting engaged. They got married this past weekend. I was honored to photograph Liz's bridal portraits as well as their wedding. We traveled an hour and a half to the Salt Flats west of Salt Lake City. It was AMAZING! I was so excited to be going there, and when I got there, it was better than I imagined. I snapped one pic on my camera, looked at it, gave a holler and danced around! It. Was. Awesome. Lake Love Shoot

These 2 love birds are good friends of Ben and I. They tied the knot last November on the most perfect day as far as weather goes, and have been loving married life ever since. This shoot was one that I had been wanting to do, and they weren't going to mind having pictures taken of themselves either! We went out on my lake and overcame the difficulties of "working on the water" (like only having one canoe, and a paddle boat that had no rudder). But, we made it work! It was great, so fun and I am pleased! Enjoy.

Veronica + Matt {Engaged} Colorado Engagement Photographer

When Veronica first asked me to do engagement pictures of her and Matt, I was SO excited! I think I even started bouncing around in my seat! I have known Veronica for a long time now. We were in the same young adults group and bible studies and even went to ~~our favorite place~~ Starbucks every once and a while for a coffee date. Veronica was one of my most encouraging persons in starting ShutterChic! I knew her and Matt's session was going to be awesome. It was. Every bit of it! They even had the idea to do a stop motion Save The Date from pictures we took, and hopefully I can share that with you soon! And they brought Matt's dog, Fletch. He's a BIG cutie! So pretty. That's about all I can say. I had a fun little portrait session with Maggie yesterday (I call her MagDoll) and it was so great! I love these photos of her. Our time together was so fun and filled with laughter! The sun peaked out from behind the clouds at the perfect times to give us the beautiful sun-kissed look we wanted! Perfect. And the breezy hair, a photographers dream.

Brian & Alli {Engaged} Part 2

This is part 2 of Brian and Alli's great engagements! We did one session in May, and because the weather was not shaping up the way we wanted, we decided stop the session and reschedule for a better day. And that's just what we got! A sun-kissed engagement. Brian and Alli knew all the right things to do, how to stand, where to look and I secretly wish everyone could have 2 sessions! And here they are!
