The Heartland Tour 2008. One of New Zealand’s most successful rock bands since 1991. I had the pleasure of doing some freelance promotional and website photography for the band while they were doing their 'Heartland Tour' throughtout NZ in acknowledgement and support of the grass roots of small towns and provinces - so when I found out they were coming to my town I was dribbling and drooling in anticipation.

The tour was also a lead up to a new release of their 'Greatest Hits' album.

Leading vocalist - James Reid has a voice that's effortlessly full powered, Gorgeous band members. Pure high octane NZ rock at it's finest. The concert was spectacular. The sound quality was exceptional!

A big thank you to James, Hamish, Andy and the rest of the band and crew for the opportunity and experience. x x

Back From Her Kit Kat....

My holiday was far from the expected R'n'R or Kit Kat I had ever tasted!, I painted for 2 day's straight - overdosing myself on progressive house, excited at meeting new and old friends and aquaintances and forming some unexpected camaraderie. I went for my first ride on a Harley Davidson....Whoooooaaaa!! I was so enthralled - I could hardly breath - I was so excited I wanted to poo! Thanks Geoff x x

I came home people'd out, painted out, shopped out, cafe'd out, coffee'd out, hangi'd out, harley'd out, tranced out.....and as happy as a bee with a bum full of honey.

The final touches are being put on a painting and will be up in the next few day's....I think! (I'm still undecided on whether such thing's are ever really finished) I have a few photographic work opportunities coming up which are keeping me busy till the end of the year, I've just been hired as a Wedding Photographer (cooor blimey) along with a media project the next few weeks. It's going to be a fantastic opportunity to utilize my creative strengths which have been lying latent the last few month's and extend my skills into some unchartered waters.

It's time to leave universal law to keep doing what it does best - weaving it's magic and shizzeling more of it's wizzle my way.

One random day when I was shizzeling some nizzle, I received an email from Chris asking if I would like to be featured on his blog 'Univers d' Artiste' This site contains the biggest up close and personal collection of fine art nude's, photographers, photo's, interview's, features, news and tidbit's dedicated soley for photographer's on a global scale. Alway's passionate about visual imagery and audio [especially the homegrown kind] I'm alway's trying to incorporate into my gallery's - words, quotes, music and imagery as a way of complimenting and completing one another. Music i listen to while painting and editing is usually a personal reflection of the mood or emotion I'm experiencing at that moment. It's there in that place that I fell in love with Fiona Soe Paing's 'Deep Song'.
I recently discovered Scottish/Burmese producer and vocalist Fiona Soe Paing from Auckland, New Zealand.
Her music; Skeletal, off-world electronica, dark and soulful, lush and minimal - mesmerizing in the spaces between dreaming and waking, her music is leftfield downbeat at its most down.

TIKAWENGA TE TAU - A leading chief of Ngai Tumapuhiarangi. Husband to Kaipaoe, a high-ranking woman of Ngati Rakairangi. Taiawhio Tikawenga Te Tau was the youngest son of Tikawenga and Kaipaoe and a leader of the major Maori political and religious movements in Wairarapa in the 15 years following 1910. This portrait was painted for the father of my children, descendent of Taiawhio and Tikawenga Te Tau in celebration of his ancestory, whakapapa (geneology) , the wairua (spirit) of those since passed.
