Silly Goosy is pleased to announce that we have been invited to exhibit at the biggest gift-industry trade show in Canada. The Canadian Gift & Tableware Association (CGTA) Spring show takes place in Toronto's International Centre from January 25-29, 2009.

As our loyal internet-shopping following grows, so do inquiries from curious shoppers who want to see our stuff up-close in a local store before purchasing. We hope this opportunity allows us to get SillyGoosy Designs products into more bricks-and-mortar retail stores throughout Canada and the world!

As a promotion for our valued internet customers, Silly Goosy has introduced new lower Canadian shipping rates. Retail orders made through our website for delivery within Canada will now be charged only $7.50. Cheap!

Don't worry if you're one who likes to meet the $75 free shipping minimum, we aren't going to change that. We have just decided to take a bigger loss on our retail shipping costs so that more people will get exposed to the quality of Silly Goosy stuff.

The Forgotten Art of Swaddling

It seems that we as a child-rearing society have forgotten about swaddling our babies. Remember that line about the babe in the manger in the "swaddling clothes"? It seems that Mary, for one, knew how to keep her infant happy. Swaddling helps babies feel secure and warm, and allows them to do what they do best: sleep!

Swaddling is the practice of wrapping a baby cocoon-style in a blanket. Swaddle blankets like our own Silly Goosy Swaddlewrap work great because they have elongated arms that wrap around and around, making a secure swaddle simple.

Published studies have shown that swaddling infants helps them sleep longer without waking, and stay in REM sleep longer as well. Other medical research has suggested that swaddling helps reduce the risk of SIDS.
