First off, we would like to thank all the participating Gliffy Confluence Plugin and Gliffy Jira Plugin Atlasssian Community License users that submitted applications for our 1% grant opportunity.

We are delighted at the caliber of applications that we received. After reading through all the wonderful ways these organizations help their communities and how Gliffy diagrams help them achieve their goals more efficiently, we selected Sierra Mountain Music Camp (SMMC) as our grant recipient!

SMMC brings the magic of music to students from fourth grade through college, through 4 choral and 2 orchestral programs. Though SMMC focuses on music, they also give their participants the opportunity to be away at camp and just be kids by participating in outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, arts & crafts, and other camp related activities. Part of their application included a movie of their youth that reminded us of our attempts at the dramatic arts.

If you are a community license user of Atlassian products, you too can enhance your JIRA and Confluence environments with Gliffy diagrams. Simply install the Gliffy Confluence Plugin and Gliffy Jira Plugin and begin drawing!

Stay tuned to hear more about SMMC and their good works in the coming year.

From this day forth, our robot will be named Djedi, the little robot sent in to loyally discover hieroglyphs. Thanks to our winner, @danielabbas for submitting this name and to everyone else who participated!!

Here’s a little background on the origins of Djedi. Djedi is said to be the first magician, as reported by the Westcar papyrus which documents stories that were told at the time of Pharaoh Khufu in ancient Egypt. Djedi was said to eat 500 loaves of bread, a joint of meat, and drink 100 jugs of beer per day and was 110 years old. He knew the secrets of the pyramids and was fabled to have the power to cut the head off of living creatures and restore them after.

That’s a pretty awesome namesake, if you ask me!

If you’re developing software, following an Agile approach and wondering how Gliffy can help – we encourage you to take a look at this course.

The course shows how models (using both formal and informal notations) help us to simplify problems, improve communication, develop better requirements, gain a shared understanding of solutions and abstract away unnecessary details. Using Gliffy within Confluence allows the software development team to work with simple tools, embrace change and travel light.

Developing software is a challenge – we’re thrilled that Gliffy is able to be part of your Agile toolkit. Leading to more successful software projects…and having some fun along the way!

As if you didn’t already have enough reasons to try out the new Atlassian OnDemand, we’ll give you one more: The vastly improved Gliffy Confluence Plugin 4 is immediately available to install in your OnDemand Confluence environment. You’ll also have the added benefit of having billing for your OnDemand products and Gliffy conveniently handled in one place and on a single invoice.

In version 4 of the Gliffy Confluence Plugin, using Gliffy is as easy as using the new Confluence 4 editor. We’ve worked hard to make the editing experience as natural and as seamless as possible. No longer will you need to toggle between editing a diagram from the wiki view and updating the diagram layout from the edit view, everything happens in-line with the Confluence 4 editor.
