Fundamental to modern building designs are critical knowledge of the basics and advanced insight of a building layout. This insights sprout up aesthetic buildings found in developed areas, most of which are built based on the geographical location of such areas and life style of the people. The life span of such buildings are also based on the design methodology, the soil test, the compressibility of the structure of which rebound hammer can be used as a testing instrument.

As was said, “man is inquisitive to transformations” yes!. This course will take you through the changes and basics of a building design in recent time. The search for knowledge has lead to the advancement in modern building design. All things being equal, the knowledge here is not entirely new, its an upgrade to the aged building knowledge.

For a building to be structurally and aesthetically admired there must be a combined effort of some skilled professionals. One may ask, “if all engineers are needed in a building design and construction project, then, what’s the job of a computer engineerr?” this will be answered in this article as we proceed.

RESET. The journey, 2020.

Today’s Homily is about the journey, 2020 with the title RESET. I will be sharing my story as a voyage through the year 2020.

Reset means to start again, it also means to reinvent. We all planed to succeed. As a veteran, you re-strategize your goals at every interval in other not to fade out among your contemporaries. Resetting is an opportunity for an awesome shift in life. When you refuse to reset, you’ve planned to crumble, when you refuse to reset you choose not to grow.

Merry Xmas in ADDY

Just like most persons, I planed 2020 with my goggles and goblet on my table with a long list of aspirations to crush. “While, did you crush them?” One may ask. Crushing wasn’t the problem but starting is always a challenge. As you read deep into my journey, note that Reset is an opportunity given as a child of God for reformation and alignment. Life is of a few years (job 14:1). Challenges shouldn’t make us derail from our ministry as a child of God.

In 2020 I haven’t scored a goal yet, even though I cant vividly tell you the last soccer I played, but at least I was part of a game!. And so are you. As far as there is life in you you are part of the game and you could give that dying minute winning goal or equalizing goal by simply resetting those wonderful strategies.

Amidst the lockdown I recorded victories releasing some spoken word videos; “the human body” which emphasis was on the human body, racism, and this piece sprung as a result of the killing of George Floyd #blackLifesMatters. Secondly, “LOCKDOWN” was released. This is a wrap of the lockdown experience. You have to listen to the audio or watch the video. Thirdly, was the novel “BRIDES ARE BIRDS”. I Also recorded “Unspoken Words, Tales of an Iroko”, and many more when you go through the blog and the latest which is “Toll- Gate”.

As we rise above the 2020 crises with the plan of resetting, as we walk into 2021, here are some key areas to reset.

• Renew your mind constantly. Lamentation 3:22

• Take a break from the distractions of the world.

• Enjoy every little moment of 2020. It won’t be here again.

• Invest! invest in your self and also financially. Stop “bring two and win big” If you understand 🙄 you are a suspect 😀😅. Invest in stocks, bonds, and real estate and reap the returns later.

Finally, December is here. The season of celebration and a season where we unite and reset to make 2021 a splendid one. And don’t forget that CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Life can be stress-free and at the same time stressful. Living isn’t awful but not in a world such as this, where lots of pain and hurts reigns within us.Take a look at the aquatic world or the birds in the sky, they seem to be in a different atmosphere, even the astronauts can relate better.

But fulfillment comes by His word. No matter the situation we are in, His love abounds to everyone.

While growing we experience stages in life where some difficulties are mere challenges, which can be struck out effortlessly on our list of challenges… but still on that cruising boat with your sunglasses and a glass of wine, closing out some cool deals as the cool morning breeze swirls by,

not knowing, it was the rising of a turbulent tide meeting you at the middle of the ocean with non on board. Just you alone. And your nerves are rising (which means you are not a good swimmer).

This scenario applies to the disciples and Jesus in Mark 4:35-42.

As they sailed across basking in the refreshing wind while Jesus was fast asleep on his soft furry pillow unaware of the crisis wrecking the boat.

The seawater splashing at its brim. With fear and trembling of drowning His disciples woke Him, saying, “Master, doesn’t it interest you that we are drowning?”
As swiftly as possible He rebuked the wind saying, “Peace, be still!” and there was great tranquility. But then, He said to them “why are you filled with fear? Where is your faith?”

And they flinched and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

This is a remarkable 🤗🤗story at any time. What strikes me the most in this passage is PEACE. The word PEACE can be seen as a personality, an outcry, as harmony and the list goes on...

What do you identify PEACE to, in that wiry storm?

In a world filled with chaos? What’s your state of mind in that complicated situation?

Your state of mind is proportionate to the actions outplayed around you, and your ability to be calm in-spit of the rage is the attribute of the holy spirit.

Jesus didn’t call that storm by its identity he said PEACE (not storm) BE STILL. You don’t Identify your pains by what they are if you want to defeat them. It triggers fear if you do. Identify your pains with what you want it to be.

If your business is dwindling, speak life "it's rising" and take actions to bounce back. This is so in every field. Your space is not the economic space, yours is different! Dream it!

Jesus asked them “why are you filled with fear? where is your faith?”.

On a battlefield, you conquer your opponent by its weakness and utilize its vulnerability.

Challenges may come in different ways, shape, and kind but are likened to one thing “victory” (as far as your eyes can see. Gen13:14NLT)

Be still and know that He is God. He always shows himself mighty. Even while you are cruising and there is a rising tide, it won’t overwhelm you.

My Ernest prayer is “may affliction never rise the second time”. There is a victory to those who wait upon the Lord with songs of praises and rejoicing on their lips.

Toll-Gate

As the peacefully initiated #ENDSARS protest draws to its climax, youths of Nigeria walked through the streets both at home and abroad, elevating hearts that YES! their voice will be heard without compromise, matching in unity as everyone was a leader with one voice seeking for justice with our words written on placards and every social media platform was a medium.

For the love of our brutalized youths, friends, brothers and sisters whose routs of glorious days and more to come ended up in the den of the special anti-robbery squad (SAR). #ENDSARS protest which migrated from #ENOUGHISENOUGH into a protest for good governance was seen hijacked by hoodlums under the disguise of some societal cabals. The trench of things rose into an ethnic rivals and the search for palliatives of which the raid was massive.

Joyfully, before the day of the unforeseen massacre, days of justice for all, days of jubilation fighting for a just course matching through towns and cities; as youths displayed their art, craft and uniqueness as Nigerians. The days of seeking for palliatives reviews the consensus in Nigerians as one, both the able and disable with their ingenuity to foster a course... but the worst of it was 20-10-2020 when our fallen youths slides through our mobile screens as sacs of tears clogs our eye gaze. In the brink of all this impromptu incident by ENDSARS protester this poetry was written by Jochris declaring NO TO POLICE BRUTALITY AND BAD GOVERNANCE

My anger was voiceless

My pain becomes me

I took pictures of my self and I saw pictures of misuse

This body in its entirety is subject to HIS use.

In the eyes of our youths, I saw pictures of abuse

The liberty we wished, has been incarcerated with police abuse

Teardrops of our mothers over her Brutalized sons and daughters floods our river basins.

The dawn of a new morning leads to the interment of a promising youngster.

As the days of good fortunes washes away at the toll gate

Sacs of tears clog our eye gaze

Seeing The scenery and the agony, as our fallen youths slides through our Mobile screens.

Why Chadwick (Black panther) still lives

The dead can still live but only in the heart and mind of the living. A man who short-lived, yet left incredible memories on the wall. Chadwick will still live in the heart of generations to come, with his archives on many screenplays. I questioned my self, what footprint are we leaving behind?

King T'Challa as he was known in the movie "Black Panther" died at the age of 43, leaving traces of ingenuity and aptitude in the heart and mind of those still living.

Chadwick Aaron Boseman as formally called by his parents Carolyn and Leroy Boseman, both African-American. According to Boseman DNA testing shows that his ancestors were Krio people from Sierra Leone, Yoruba people from Nigeria, and Limba people from Sierra Leone. He is an American actor, playwright, and screenwriter hailing from Anderson, South Carolina.

Boseman graduated from T. L. Hanna High School in 1995. In his junior year, He wrote his first play in his junior year, Crossroads, and staged it at the school after a classmate was shot and killed.

Boseman attended college at Howard University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing.

Denzel Washington, a friend to his mentor (Phylicia Rashad), helped with funds that support Boseman and some classmates to attend Oxford Mid-Summer Program of the British American Drama Academy in London.

He started his career leaving in Brooklyn. He was a drama instructor in Schomburg Junior Scholars Program, a Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, New York.

Personal life

Chadwick was raised as a Christian and was baptized. He joined the church choir, including the youth group and his former pastor said, "he still kept his faith".

He was a vegetarian.

Boseman became engaged to singer Taylor Simone Ledward in 2019, and they later married.

Death

Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, which eventually progressed to stage IV before 2020. The outcry of his death shook the world. He had not spoken publicly about his cancer diagnosis. He never disclosed his health condition publicly for four years, which means he acted several films, including Marshall, Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and others with the occurrence of this cancer fulfilling his purpose on earth. Boseman died at his home of complications related to colon cancer on August 28, 2020, with his wife and family by his side.

May he rest in the bosom of the lord. Amen!

Court Ruled For Women To Inherit Their Father's Wealth

A court in Port Harcourt ruled in favour of females inheriting their father's wealth. The court says, "preventing females from inheriting their fathers' wealth was a bridge to their fundamental right."

Interviewed female commended the court for taking a brave and bold step in delivering this landmark judgment.

A woman right group AFRICAN WOMEN LAWYER (AWL) says the ruling will give the women a feeling of belonging in their father's house.

The coordinator of the AWL in Nigeria, River state chapter, Cordelia eke, says "women who were deprived of taken part in the sharing of their fathers' inheritance can now speak up"

She commends the complainant for speaking up and challenging this tradition in court. She went further to say this ruling has blazed most trials seeking equality and discrimination against women. Challenging women to follow her (complainant) footsteps challenging all negative laws, traditions, and culture that conflict the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

I'm an edifice

I'm a wonder for my admirers.

I'm the landmark

Thrilled by the wind

Scorned by the rain

Yet I stand

My roots are without ranges

My trunks are canopies

For the refuge

In silence i grew

Nurtured by nature

Tortured by creature

While I moaned

They smiled they've won

But I'm the essence of their being

I'm the roof over their head

I'm the morsel in their Stomach

I'm the idol in their mysteries

The Mantra in their histories

The hero in their novels.

Gone are the days

When my fallen branches are honored

Gone are the days

When my seeds are treasured

My evolution awaits my extinction

"NO," says the creators will.

My bark bruised the warfare of arrows

We sang songs of victories

With gallant men

and fearless women

Our bravery was without boundaries

BRIDES ARE BIRDS

Brides are birds, is a short novel of love in its entirety. Josh unveiling the hidden facts to Fred, his friend. Flown into time, as the excesses in his dilemma were unraveled with insight from Josh, without juxtaposing the situation...it was certain that Fred was in love.

(I)

"I don't think this wedding will work out; It sounds wield isn't it?'' Fred said.

I startled, looking like a catfish chocked to death with bulging eyes. Lost in illusion. Fred and Stacy were in love. But in reality, was a man showered with love in a dispensation where brides are birds and they fly in their own accord. Yet he steeps so low to let it go.

We arrived at his locale. Fireflies flew around flickering like stars. Distorted by the headlight, as the car engine steams while we were in the car.

I glared with my eyeballs glittering, I tried to find my way off his comment. I was really surprised.

"Fred, did you just say that?" I asked, "all those surprise packages and late-night hang-outs, both on calls and Sunday evening flirting, were for what?"

Being so inquisitive.

This is his third engagement for the last 2 years, either she dumps him or he wakes up and says "I'm no more interested." This is turning into a trend and it won't be under my watch.

"Josh, it's not what you think, see, I am in love with Stacy," he said, "but I just can't see my self becoming a father"

"Loz!" I laughed bursting my tears gland, the saltiness almost chucked me, bulging out my veins. I felt a sharp pain then i realized it was a serious situation.

With a cracked voice. I looked straight into his eyes and gave him the best advice a friend would give.

"You are Afraid of what the morrow will bring, afraid of living a dwindling married life, and afraid of the lovely kids you will bear.

Fred, Stacy is not the problem, you are." I said without blinking an eye.

His chin fell, letting loose his lips as his glabella wrapped in awe. His lashes flicked. His Hazel eyes bloomed with insight as he stared away.

"Set your mind right and be the man you envision. Life is full of Sorbet, but with time, it dissolves. The faster you scoop it, the better the flavor and the occasion becomes your lullaby. Time and Age are distinct paths, but a thin thread line drew them close."

Sparkles with grim sounds plod with an unending echo, flooding the space as silence paved in.

I tried to restore back our previous mood, without making a further connection to the present situation, but it proved nulled.

Words lay flat on my tongue, squirming until it got loosed: "Brides are birds, and they should fly, isn't it? but mind you, not all birds return back home and i know Stacy will."

I shrugged off to show seriousness without joking the scene because i felt proud of my self-esteem. At least some times we should. Looking at him to reassure him of the mistake he will be doing.

"She's meant for you. Hope you can see it?" i said, broadening my eyes, "it's written all over her. Debunk those thoughts and reassure those words you've told her."

It sunk into his manhood as he tried to shrug it off, the light of those words erased the scales in his eyes.

He veered in relief, putting off the ignition while I tried to raise the side door window. Lightning from the sky hovered around the mahogany, seating in the middle of the compound. For it's about to rain the second time this week. We walked straight to the kitchen. it seems even him was famished.

His ameche rang the second time while we tried to prepare dinner. Astounded by the portrait hanging in his kitchen. "Must you hang this portrait here?" I said washing the piled up oily dishes. The kitchen felt lonely without a reply.

"Fred, what are you thinking? Why are you not picking your calls?" Hands still drenched in the soapy water.

"I texted her earlier today about our conversation and I think she is pissed off." He said.

A resounding echo swirled through my ears with a twinkling sound.

"Just listen to yourself, 'You think she is pissed off ' why! won't she?" I replied with grief. For the naughtiness of his attitude has gotten to its climax before my ear walls heard them.

"She is confused already and needs to hear from you. So pick up the call and reaffirm your love to her; be a man." He picked up the call and stride away from the kitchen.

"Hey Stacy, how do you do? i was in a last-minute rush at the office" He said.

"Dude, don't start with a lie hope you can ride along." I whimpered hoping he won't blow it off. He left the ameche on a loudspeaker as he took his stand to take in her questions.

"Oh! i see you are too busy to pick up my calls?" Stacy said, with a pitch like a wracking dove with her hash tuneful tune.

"I saw an SMS bearing your name, what do you have to say about it...?"

Reading through her lines, It's terrific that she couldn't believe or rather withstand what the SMS read.

"Ok, before i talk about the SMS," Fred said, "I want you to know that i love you, that no matter the heck am going through i will always keep-up with you... and for the SMS, i didn't mean what is written there. I was going through a lot lately."

His keen heart was expressly reviewed as the ounce of love was amplified.

"Can i come over, tomorrow afternoon to see you?" Stacy said, sounding faint, with the notion he will turn it down.

I drew close and whispered "ask her out on a date" his cheek was flushed with colors, his teeth flashing white as he smiled at me and bursting in gurgling's as they continued in fantasy.

I said it, "if brides are birds Stacy will always come back home."

It was a fun-filled evening for me but I saw haze in his eye like the Christmas morning mistified of its outcome, but I know for sure it will be awesome

"Dude giggle up, you are too cold for my liken," I said placing my Lenovo (ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 (2019)) in my backpack as the excitement of the contract I was awarded to has been approved by my client.

"Fred, if you are not 'in' with Stacy please just let her go" his hands tucked into his brown chinos pant looking gentle with strip blue shirt on dark brown driving moccasin. As a forceful grin ran through his face.

He stammered saying " ple-a-se i wa-nt to a-sk you a favour"

What's it? and why are you stammering?" i said raising my head up

"I need your belt mine is rusty," He said.

"Fred, why haven't you change? Why must you borrow when you are going on a date?

Take it from the cabinet jooor, the next thing you will ask me is my 16th perfumery perfume i but 9k." I said looking at my shoelace striding behind me.

"And where are you going to," he asked, as i walked out from the porch

"I'm going to see Engr john, to put things together. Make sure you don't screw things up with Stacy "

"No i won't " he replied with a positive vibe.

It's 9 am. Still sunk in my mattress as the whizzing from the kettle in the kitchen woke me up. With my dazzled eye flickering as sun rays from the east end of the window flashed on me. I staggered, as i strolled towards the kitchen using the walls as support.

" You are awake" A voice echoed from behind with unfamiliar background voices.

I hiked to view who they are; a male and a female on cooperate dress. I wondered what the occasion was meant for, at such an hour.

Still lost in thought they walk out through the door discussing " we will get back to you sir " said the male partner to Fred, who seems a little bit delighted to what he said.

I stood beside the fizzled kettle. Hands placed on the two plate burner gas cooker, waiting patiently for Fred.

Finally, he walked in.

"Fred, what's going on?" I asked, folding both hands on my chest.

"Those guys are my wedding planner. I'm marrying next month." I was lost. He tugged me off by my left arm down to the couch in the sitting room. "Why the rush now," i said bouncing on the couch. "Sit down let me gist you how the date went." His eyes widened. Shoulder broaden. He sat at the edge of the couch talking like a hen who almost lost her chick "Josh, someone wants to take my Stacy away from me ooh, while I'm still alive" his voice plodding the roof as he stood up racking. " calm down and explain to me what happened." i said smiling and stretching on the couch.

"Stacy said, 'someone came to see my dad last week, asking to marry me.' josh josh! did and hear that. And I'm here thinking of being a father while others are embracing fatherhood." I laughed bumping the couch. "You never see anything. You want to remain uncle forever. Abiii? You get luck say her papa no accept bride price." He racked tossing out the throw pillows around the room as i took to my heels protecting my head to take a shower.

(IV)

Every aspect of the wedding plan was scheduled and organized by wedding planners. The groom and bride's parents welcomed each other as they get set for the wedding.

"I'm in love with her" were the last words Fred said, reassuring his guys, a night to his wedding ceremony.

Dressed in a purple tuxedo, flapped with black, looking stunningly handsome. His pair of purple pants, simplified with lining traced from his belt down to the edge of his pants resting on his gold spiked loafer shoe. He stood gawking directly to his bride releasing soft charming smiles as he slowly licked his lips. Clutching her hands to his. An essence mixed with a soft symphony cascaded the atmosphere at the sound of "My heartthrob". I could see stars in the eyes of the audience, who gave a humming sound. And the dust in the air stood still. The hairs on our skin laid entwined to each other like two wet sticky leaves. Dazzled by the drippings of raindrops.

Amidst his flatters. He pressed on saying

...I'm stocked on you

My bones quiver.

You took my dimples

And Gave me chuckles

Your beauty awards me fame.

I will love you

And we will make room for him

It's by the grace in his stripes

That I could look up into your eyes

Amidst his scars

And say, Please, be mine"

At his last words " please be mine" silence craved the room. Ears stood high like an Olga waiting for the best sound of "Yes i will" to infiltrate in, evoking a joyous smile and gigglings on the faces of the audience.

Placing Punctuation marks is the simplest but technical aspect of writing. In every presentation, be it oral or written format, should be well punctuated. Punctuation gives clarity and expresses the emotion attached to your poems, novels, articles and even the minor text messages to your friends.

It’s amazing when we get to share our thoughts, and they are well transferred to our readers the way it gravitates us.

When you give a fast speech, your audience loses track of what you are saying. So you need to stop, pause, and take a breath at some point. It’s very easy. Punctuation marks help you to pause, change your voice, and know when to stop speaking.

The use of punctuation marks, tells you that you are reading a list of items and that some are independent. It gives a visual clue to your reader and also joins two words together. It also tells your reader that a sentence has come to an end.

With the help of this article, your piece will have a touch of excellence. A to-do list is added for you to practice. Let’s get the train rolling.

Eight Wrongly Used Punctuation Marks And Their Functions.

1. Comma (,)

A comma is a common punctuation mark used in communication. It indicates a pause and a separation of items. Commas are used in dates, addresses, greetings, lists, coordinating adjectives, and introductory words or phrases. Below are points where they function

Dates, address, greetings, and letters:

Example;

Those letters were stamped on October 11, 1995.

Good morning sir, how was the interview?

Lists:

Example;

Peter, Paul, Martians, and Mark chased the hen into her cage.

He gave me two shirts, an iPod, a belt, and a lovely oxford shoe.

Coordinating adjective:

This is a group of adjectives that describes a noun. these are words used in a sentence that describes a process. These adjectives come before the noun they qualify.

Example;

John ran, swerved, and jumped the hurdles.

We encountered short, tall, slim, and fat pupils in her classroom.

Introductory word and phrase:

A comma is used after an introductory word or phrase.

Example;

I can’t wait, the semester is about to begin.

Hopefully, he will do a marvelous job.

Surprisingly, I got the job.

2. Semicolons (;)

When you encounter a semicolon it’s a proper place for you to pause and take a breath. It is used to join two independent clauses that are related.

Example;

He spoke eloquently, so vest in the subject matter; content is key.

Use semicolons to join items in a list:

Example;

The plates contained different fruits: Apple, plum, and berries; pineapple, grape, and watermelon; with paw-paw, mango, and red berries.

TO DO LIST: The dress code should be of purple, white, and black gray, brown, and red or green, red, and blue.

3. Colons (:)

This is also a punctuation mark used to introduce a full stop. You can use a colon to introduce a list, quote, or example.

Lists:

Example;

They prepared my favorite meals: Pounded yam with melon soup, fried rice, and roasted yam with sauce.

Quotes:

Example;

Gary Keller said: “Life is a question and how we live it is our answer.”

Use colons to introduce examples or explanations

A colon can be used to introduce an example or prove a statement. The first part of the sentence must be an independent clause, which means, it must stand alone as a complete sentence with a subject and verb. Do not use a colon after phrases like such as or for example.

Example;

The new stadium is used for many sporting activities: hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and athletics.

Note: Capitalize the first letter following a colon for a proper noun, the beginning of a quote. Do not capitalize if the information following the colon is not a complete sentence.

4. Quotation mark (“")

Use a quotation to indicate a direct quotation of another person’s word. Quotation marks are in pairs and can also be used to indicate the title of an article.

Example;

John said, “I wish, I am in school.”

References

Quotation marks also show another person’s exact word. You can use quotation marks at the end of a quote, middle, or beginning of the quote. Always make use of comma and capitalize your words.

Example:

Beginning: John said, “Let’s copy the note before the new teacher arrives.”

Middle: “Let’s copy the note,” John said, “before the new teacher arrives."

End: “let’s copy the note before the new teacher arrives.” John said.

Single quotation (‘’)

Use a single quotation to show quotations that are within a quotation.

Example;

“The rule says, ‘Obey the last command’”

Ruth said, “the fish was alive yesterday, but john said, ‘it died this morning.”

Titles

Quotation marks can also be used in titles of short works of writing; poems, essays, short stories, and songs. It’s also italicized when used in titles of large articles: books, magazines, albums, newspapers, and novels.

5. Apostrophes (‘)

The use of an apostrophe is the most confusing punctuation which is made easy here. It is used to show possession and to indicate contraction.

Showing possession

Use an apostrophe to show possession. Add ‘s to singular nouns.

Example;

The fish’s scales are so large.

John’s book talks more about the pandemic.

Use an apostrophe + S ('s) to show that one person/thing owns or is a member of something.

Example;

It's kelvin's book.

The dog's bone is there.

It's used to show possession for plurals that do not end in s, add an apostrophe and an s (‘s).

Example;

The children's backpack looks dirty.

People’s rite must be kept.

To show possession with a plural noun that ends in s, just add an apostrophe.

Example: The players’ did their best at first-half.

The singers’ gowns are of the same pattern.

Contraction

A contraction is a word that is formed by combining two words. Use apostrophes in contractions to show where a letter or letters have been left out. Contracted words include; don’t, haven’t, they’ll, let’s, who’s, etc.

Example;

I do not like smoked fish = I don’t like smoked fish.

I have not seen the movie = I haven’t seen the movie.

6. Parentheses ()

A parenthesis is always used in pairs. They enclose information that is secondary to the meaning of the sentence. This means that the sentence should make sense when a word or words in the parentheses are removed. Parentheses must not contain a subject or a verb.

Example;

Fried yam with sauce is my best (and favorite) meal.

Please be sure to circle (not to underline) the current answers.

TO DO LIST: Has anyone besides me read the assignment?

I will be leaving right now.

7. Dash (--)

This is a punctuation mark used to signify information in a sentence for emphasis. It signals a pause in a sentence. A dash can be indicated using two hyphens. Don’t use a space between them. You can envelop a text between two dashes, or a dash.

Example;

She is –too old for that.

Get me water --not from the freezer--to quench this thirst.

8. Hyphen (-)

This is shorter than a dash. Use a hyphen to divide a word across two lines of text. Also, use a hyphen between two or more adjective that works as one.

Example;

My mother-in-law has arrived.

compared to yours.

locked down.

Men isolated in their shelters

Living in a financial meltdown.

Leading to a lock-down,

Within states and their borders.

Foodstuffs lavishing in their numbers.

Restriction in and out of the borders.

Federal and state government in loggerheads,

Due to this locked down order.

There is a glitch in orders.

The office of the accountant general is on fire!

Donations and statistics in order.

Plans of looter discarded.

Plunged heart, is a poem of love in disguise, love at first sight, love filled with betrayal and loss of essence and worth. love tied and rekindled under the stars. Plunged heart expresses true love. It showcases the aftermath of reunion after a prolonged dispute, irrespective of the blench.

Under the sky staring at the stars. The cool evening breeze swerved across our skin. From the left corner of our eyes, a fading ball flashed across our sight.

"Its a comet," she said under her soft comic tune. Eyes Filled with joy, Stemming from her inside.

I missed you when the room went blank

waiting for the bulbs, to shine bright

Scary damsels at my door,

snatching off the joy in me

We got entangled within our souls. We got magic within our bones, just like the moon and stars shining bright in the sky. As we Lay apart, broken, in distant lands gazing at the stars.

I missed your warmth

Hands tucked between my legs,

sunk deep into my bed

Lightening sharing my heart in two

The whims of the wind, wailing at me

For a heart, which I first broke.

Pleasure lit up in her eyes when she looked my way. The soothing frisson of her bones. The hairs on her skin cuddle at the merest touch. Possessing a fragile heart with no taste from a lover. Just like a garnished cuisine waiting patiently to be tasted.
