So I've been needing to replace my tires, I really didn't want to put new tires on the volks and would've rather put them on LXZ's but I need to build my subframe before doing that, and I also need to pick up my rebuilt turbo.

Tons of shit always comes up and I don't have the money to do what I want when I want. I was trying to stretch the Hankook RS3's out until the end of feb, but once the tread blocks got low the tires just seemed to waste away. The tires didn't handle bad in dry hot weather at this point, but that night it rained last week I ended up getting about 80 percent home without hydroplaning surprisingly, and then sure enough I hit one of those groves on the freeway that pulls you to the left or right and pretty much held a powerslide for about 300 feet.

this is where tread should be.

The Yokohama S drives have a pretty crazy tread pattern, they also have a 300treadwear rating as opposed to the 140 the RS3s had. My search for new tires required them to perform pretty well and have similar grip to the 615k and the RS3 but a higher treadwear rating and the ability to have them rotated was a determining factor.

The sidewalls on the S drive are designed to protect the lip of your wheels, but of course people have pictures of how they look stretched. I'm thinking that this setup should be fine for my fronts, although I'm thinking about going 235 instead of 245. We'll see when I go to purchase them.

245/35/18 on a 18x10

So far I like them, but we'll see how I feel after I drive in the rain with them.

Picked up a set of expensive lug nuts and locks, doesn't look like they'll protrude too much out of the lug seats so I'm cool. Wish they had more color options but such is life, gotta protect your investment. Great pricing yet again thanks to Jack @ Jordaninnovations.

I've spent so much money on my car in 2011, that really the only plans I have in 2012 for my car are as follows.

- build secondary s14 subframe with all SPL equipment.
- mount my kranze lxz's to the car.
- replace leaking t25 turbocharger (by actually picking up my rebuilt t25 from mario at grperformance)
- rebuild spare sr20det motorset and keep it on standby until my daily motorset finally goes
- get the a/c and heat working with the digital climate control
- give death to the smj plug with a full harness replacement with raychem sleeving and bulk head connectors.
- spark plugs, 2012 amsoil oil change, fuel filter replacement.
- Paint and install my 6666 customs trunk wing, and garage-s hood (for looks)
- repaint and repair all aero and make some pretty trick mud guards for the car so the paint doesn't chip like that again.
- clear bra repainted aero.
- maybe get all new or 97/98 hvac equipment under the dash
- and a HUGE maybe is to replace my cracked dashboard.

And quite frankly that's about it, no big plans, no roll cages, no track days, nothing to prove. Since I'm done with trying to help other people on enthusiast websites with their cars I'm just going to stick to posting anything car related about my 240sx on my blog. Not everyone is a member of zilvia, and I can say faggot, gay, and nigga here all I want without having to wait a month to share a how to article with the sites members.

So I'm quitting car forums period as far as my car goes. I will still post in off topic forums and such but I'm just done with trying to be helpful.

I've been meaning to go through my blog and clean up a lot of the posts and re-write a few others so they're a bit more clear and to the point about how to accomplish something. But I seriously doubt anyone even does a search for half of the stuff I posted.

My wheels are finally mine, shit came up and these were supposed to be paid off in September, my buddy Jack fronted for a pair, big gamble on his part but I'm good for it. I've felt extremely horrible about it because it came out of nowhere, State of California taxed me on some shit, my 1100 dollar ref ticket, clutch going out and the surprise 500 dollars I had to spend to resolve that.

This will probably be the last huge purchase like this I make for my car. I am all about instant gratification, I like things that I can compulsively buy and still have money to live. Not stress about what bill I'm going to pay late to make everyone happy. Or what weekend can I scheme some overtime to make ends meet.

2011 has been an interesting yet for me so far, Simone has been for the most part running good as a daily driver and I'm most thankful for that. Next on the shopping list with jordan innovations is my SPL goodies solid subframe bushins, RUCA, TOE, and TRACTION rods all to be put in Jacks spare s14 subframe so I can just drop and swap and he can have mine in exchange.

KTFO I'd been up since 2:34pm yesterday crashed out at 3:30 at the shop.

I woke up around 5:30 from my little nap and JB was laughing like a little girl, I immediately went to the bathroom to see if I had a sharpie mustache or a dick drawn on my forehead, but obviously I found out what the gags were about when I woke up. Lazy Monday

Went and got my ass kicked at crossfit this morning, came home to finally wash my car after a few weeks of rain and the car looking like shit. Jeez I need to wax this thing bad, the wax that was on here before looks like it's completely gone. So I'll most likely give it a carnuba rub down on Saturday.

Finally decided to assemble my A/N hoses today, have some -8's for my hybrid valve cover that I've had in storage for a while since I had the fittings welded on by Luis Gonzalez. It wasn't too hard to get the hose together, didn't realize that I didn't order another 90 degree -8 drainback. So if I have some cash to spare I'll probably do that, still can't use the valve cover. I'm missing the large PVC grommet on the intake side of the valve cover. It was damaged taking it out.

I can't wait to take out that redtop cover, lol the red on it is all fucked up because I had to spray it down with brake cleaner, it was sitting in a backyard for quite some time.

Next I've been trying to fight myself on this tire selection for the new fronts. The LXZ's stick out about 12-15 mm from my vertex fenders, I mentioned this in the test fit post for the LXZ's but I am not trying to run no dumb ass 225/45/18's either, especially if I'm buying Advan AD07's.

235/40/17 is what I have on the fronts currently and I think I'm going to stick with that and as soapgun would say.

Wire tucks look cool, but how functional are they?

When I wired up my engine harness for my car a few years ago I wanted to try a wire tuck for myself. Sure I could've bought some shelf made harness from someone and remained ignorant about my own car. Or I could dive head first into the wiring of the car and get a better understanding of what does what.

During that period I've had problems with the major 3

- tps (ground wire in shielded wire was contacting signal exposed signal wire.)
- knock sensor (http://vimeo.com/5195325)
- maf sensor (http://vimeo.com/4795047)

I've learned the various symptoms of not having these three items work and enjoyed the benefits of figuring it out and getting them to work again. When working on my clutch the other day I noticed that my maf wiring was resting on my downpipe. To better illustrate why this is bad, see below.

to give you an idea, you wouldn't want a wire that helps run your car sitting on hot red metal.

Now it may be a slight exaggeration because I don't always drive my car hard enough to light up the manifold anymore. But the fact remains after a certain amount of time it's going to do some damage. You may be asking yourself, what the hell does this have to do with a wire tuck?

Well The answer is that when I built the harness I kind of went off of a drawing and decided to run the maf wiring on the hot side of the motor. The stock configuration has it running across the front of the valve cover. I figured it wouldn't be affected because it was snapped into clips running along the frame rail, well away from the turbo and behind that heat shield.

But I guess it came loose from the firewall clips and was resting clean on the exhaust manifold. This last Sunday I drove the car around all day, no problems, on the way to work I stop to grab some food. I get in the car, car wont stay on w/o me giving it gas. Well whatever it runs, lets drive it to work.

I park the car, start my shift and worry I may not make it home. I pull the ecu and it's reading codes 43 and 12, of course. I immediately knew it was the maf wiring, I figured the sensor got dirty. The car likes to throw that code if any dirt gets in there. My new synthetic AEM air filter seems to be doing a great job because it was clean.

I pulled the maf wire loose and looked for any burns in the wiring, sure enough it looked like the power wire had cooked through. I couldn't see however the status of the shielded wire as it was a solder joint that just so happened to be touching the exhaust.

So we did this...

And I brought my ECU and harness over to Jordan Innovations, I knew the maf wiring needed to be replaced, so Jeff cut out whatever wire was bad, showed me that the exhaust had cooked the shielding into the signal and ground wires which would explain why it made no difference if the maf plug was plugged in or not.

I asked Jeff to extend the wiring a bit so I could run it the way it was intended, in front of the engine with my cas wire. I am over the "tucked" harness thing, I just want a working car!

Brought it home and buttoned it all up and we have a working car again.

I'm not trying to brag that I was able to identify the problem w/o the help of someone else. But if you're going to jump into having a modified car I highly suggest you know how to diagnose any issue you may have with it.

Mechanical, or Electrical as they are invaluable things to learn being an automobile enthusiast.

Test Fitting at Jordan Innovations.

Headed over to Jordan Innovations today to test fit the LXZ's and figure out tires, and most of all pay for the wheels lol. Jeff was kind enough to take us out to lunch over at Quickly I got the

Mongolian beef, Jeff and Jack ordered 2 heaps of orange chicken and the special chow mein. I ate a few forkfuls of that rice, felt bad wasting it. And they made the intern pay LOL ice cold. John (JB) is a cool kid! He helped me out when I was at the shop doing my clutch swap.

The biggest fear I had was the fronts were going to be too agressive to clear the Willwood front brake. The good news is the 18x10 -3 has just a few mm of clearance. and spins freely, no hub-centric adapters were necessary as they slid right on in the front and rear no problem.

Onto the rear, I apologize beforehand, Jeff was being a priss with the torque wrench and eager to get my other wheel back on. So I couldn't get a lip depth comparison with the 18x10 +8 Volk GT-U vs the 18x11 -7 LXZ. I run a 10mm ichiba spacer kit with the Volk wheels to flesh them out, I knew they sat a bit under my fender pull. so give or take a few mm I think this was a right on the money call to change the wheels to 11 inches wide rather than 10's at the same offset. And completely ditching the wheel spacer kit!

Discussing my pull vs say dmax overs (which Jeff has a set of) future mods of course.

I think the rears were pretty much spot on for fitment, most likely going to run a 255, or stay with a 265

If you know me, then you know I don't like running retard camber, and I hate stretched tires to make wheels fit cars, I personally want to run super aggressive fat ass MEAT on these, the problem with that is the body of my car won't allow it. So I have no choice but to go widebody. Then I can throw some 285's on the back and some 265's or 275's up front. And flatten the camber out as much as possible, man the car is going to have a wide ass foot print w/o the assistance of spacers.

When I commit to a modification it's got to be future proofed, I can't tweak it, there is no turning back. Eventually I want to do metal work in the engine bay and tub the fenders, I definitely am going to build some custom carbon fiber rain guards for the front wheels, after 2 years of driving without rain guards I now understand their purpose. My sideskirts are getting eaten all to hell from all the loose gravel my wheels throw in the door. So I have chipped paint on the bottom of my door and all over the innards of my side skirts.

As far as wide body, I don't know what I want to run in the back, chargespeed is the closest non aggressive oem looking but is 50mm. Something 30mm would be perfect, vertex ridge is a full on kit and I don't believe is any more aggressive than my current pull.

Dmax is cool because it's available, but I really HATE the hard line over the gas tank door, basically whichever over has the best gas integrated gas door look is going to be the hands down winner. I want to have them molded but I can live with rivets I suppose. It really all depends on money and the time it happens. Right now I just need to focus on wider front fenders without making my car look like a lifted truck.

And there you have it, not much car modding is going on right now, I'm so tight with things right now that I don't really have play money available like I did before so even buying the wheels put me in a bind with all of the random shit that came up, state ref ticket getting paid, clutch going out on me, paying another 400 dollars a few months ago to just have the pivot ball changed in the transmission only to drop it again. Seriously as long as the car will hold itself together for a few more months I have some mechanical things to take care of.

I will be building a separate subframe outside of the car so to minimize any downtime with my setup, it will be a simple subframe swap when the time comes. Plan to outfit it with a good 7-900 of parts from SPL, and maybe if I have the time and money I'll upgrade the knuckle bearings to SPL Sphericals.

Originally was going to go with PSM or PBM or whatever you want to call them, but delay after delay after delay of when product is going to be in vs money burning a hole in my pocket at the time that could be used elsewhere has completely turned me off to future purchases from them. Otherwise it would be my first option.

I know I'm already going to get shit for running stretched tires in the front but it's not going to look super retarded, it's just something I'm going to have to live with for a while until I can afford more aero and paint. It's as simple as that, at the end of the day it's my car so I personally don't give a flying fuck what anyone else has to say.

I could make everyone cry and just run a set of flares over the vertex fenders to clear LOL!!! stacks, on stacks, on stacks, on stacks.

This was a joke of a show, but what car show isn't a joke these days I'm not talking in a sense of venue or the staff or anything like that. But we basically were in a shit corner of the venue in sardine can formation, I think Yog's himself said sardine car show. So with international epic fuck Wayne in the ass month behind me thanks to the wonderful Monterey Park police department handing out quota tickets in 2009. I got my bills sorted, and was on the road to finishing my other financial obligations being my Kranze LXZ's, due to some mis-communication they were ordered a month later than I had originally thought they were, not a big deal really. Even better to give me some cushion.

Finally the light at the end of tunnel I noticed my clutch has been really sensitive lately, I mean for the longest I thought my car was making this loud banging noise due to the kazz LSD when I let the clutch out. I'll let you know the deal with that later.

But I get a call from my girlfriend that her car is out of commission, I finally get a chance to look at it and discover I can't even fix it.

Interesting no holes in the lines, the drum is full of brake fluid.

I had to have it sent to a shop. The repair was a lot cheaper than I had thought it would be, I had just watched a video on how to change brake shoes for drums and told my girlfriend outright I love her but that's just not something I trust myself doing. Much less the car doesn't have brakes so it's not like I could work on it anyway.

So fast forward a day we get the car all buttoned up, everything's working. It's Tuesday and I drop her off to pick up her car, and I'm thinking "head to the bank, grab $$$, some starbucks, and check out some comics" only to get 3 blocks away and have my car get stuck in 3rd gear.

At this point there wasn't anything I could do but park my car and sit in frustration that now my girlfriend has the only functional car out of both of us.

I left the car camped out on the side of Noodle World way over the limit of allowed parking, so thank you City of Alhambra for not giving me a 56 dollar parking ticket for nothing I had no control over.

I was just going to pay to have it towed somewhere and have work done to it but I am not even supposed to spend the money I have. So either way I'm just facepalming, I shouldn't of bought these wheels so soon with all of the stuff I knew I had coming up.

I had the nice guys from Emergency Hookers tow my car out to Jordan Innovations, magically the transmission is now working when the tow truck shows up, but we all know that doesn't mean shit. Either way I know the inevitable is coming and the transmission needs to be removed.

First we thought the fluid leaked out so we drained the old GREY fluid, and cleaned off probably 2oz of ground gears off of my drain plug. Poured in my remaining half quard of Amsoil 75/90w while adding two bottles of Amsoil Severe Gear 75/90w as well.

Dropped the car, threw it into gear and it works great, drive it to the front of the shop park it get ready to leave to work bam car wont go into gear, and clutch is completely engaged now.

FUCK!!!

So I had to miss a day of work on super short notice, and pull the car back into the shop to tear it apart, little did I know this was going to turn into a 6 hour clutch job. Jeff called his people over at pro-motion to get me some prices on in stock clutch kits, got a pretty good deal for the clutch and it's the same if not better than my act. I can't call it a clutch is a clutch to me as long as it doesn't fail.

The guys at AAMCO either over toqued the shit out of every transmission bolt on my car or something because they were incredibly hard to get off, especially the top 4.

I get all of the damn bolts off, and now I can't get the transmission off, all of the dowels are stuck holding the transmission in place. I'm shaking the shit out of this thing and it would not separate from the block. Indicator #1 that something is wrong.

3 hours later... SMH

This makes sense now why it was so hard to get off.

So this guy blew up, and most likely was wedged against the tip of the input shaft making it a bitch to pull the transmission out, half of those roller bearings were dust or broken up inside. Removal would've been worlds faster with a BEARING PULLER. Definitely going to have to buy one for my buddy as a thank you, along with a set of Offset wrenches haha.

I had it in my mind the clutch went bad, turns out it was pretty worn but still had a good 40 thousand miles on it of street driving I think. The pressure plate was at the end of the line. I got a pretty decent price on this guy.

I have also learned while my car was up in the air that all of my rear subframe bushings that hold the subframe to the car are broken, meaning they look like this.

So before I even get wheels on my car when I do pay for them, and look at them sitting in my room very sadly I need to do about 900 dollars worth of subframe upgrades/modification which is going to be another weekend of work and a decent amount of one of my paychecks

Sigh.

These quite possibly are my favorite wheels ever, they're discontinued and rare as shit to find in these sizes.

My new wheels will be arriving soon so I am creating this thread as a precourse. They're not immediately for sale. It's a feeler thread mainly because I know people are broke.

I am interested in trades for MONEY only, I don't want your shit parts or your shit cars. You've either seen them in person or know what they look like by now.

The wheels are flushed out on the rear with a 10mm spacer will fit perfectly flush on stock bodied s14, not sure about fitment on s13's If you want a lightweight and strong stagger setup, or some great track wheels these are them.

All tires will come with the wheels although you'll need to replace the rears. Fronts are at 70% tread wear.

I run 245/40/17 up front and a 265/35/18 out back.

Depending on who actually has money in hand to buy these wheels I will either have them ready for sell/shipping by the end of october or early November. Again all dependent on who has money.

The wheels were refinished, and professionally painted not powdercoated so you can easily have them refinished in another color or strip the paint and re-polish them and paint them something else, whatever your fancy is. I can refer you to someone to have them refinished for another 5-800 depending on what you want done.

Great strong wheels, I daily drive on them and there are some blemishes which I will add pictures of tomorrow. I get tons of compliments and thumbs up on my wheels ALL OF THE TIME.

There is only one other set of these in these sizes in the United States.

You can take your car to the HNL with these wheels, I won't have much use for them other than collecting dust for quite some time when the new ones arrive. So bid now guys before I change my mind and keep them.

1998 Toyota Camry Power Wire Repair

I was working on some artwork today at starbucks when my girlfriend gives me a call to come rescue her, turns out the wire that provides power to her car in the whole starter/alternater/fusebox chain has been corroding for some time.

this wire powers everything in the car, lights, acc, ecu, etc.

It started with the terminal for the battery being so corroded the car would randomly die or certain electrical features wouldn't work. At night all of the lights would blink at idle and just get faster as you drive so the energy to the car was pulsing, same for fuel and other things to the motor which is no bueno.

I replaced the charge wire from the starter to the battery and said terminal about a year ago and the car was running okay, I had shortened that specific wire a bit since it was completely white and brittle at the tip. No longer able to provide a sufficient flow of energy to the cars main fusebox.

I stopped by Jordan Innovations to grab some mil spec 8ga wire, mainly because he's the only person I know I can get good 8ga wire from without having to buy 30 feet of it. It cost my girlfriend a chili burger with no onions and fries from farmer boys haha. j/k

We're always feeding my buddy Jeff! He's always so busy he forgets to eat sometimes, Jack on the other hand got no food.

I cut back into this wire to see how far back the corrosion went.
wire was good here so this is where I decided to solder in the new mil spec stuff.

I don't understand why Toyota decided to make this wire 6ga and then clamp an 8ga wire to run into the battery, that makes no fucking sense to me at all. Should've just ran 6ga all the way into a junction box with the 4ga charge wire that goes to the starter.

IT"S NOT UH TUMAAAH!!!!

I have a wimpy dick 40amp soldering station it was taking forever to heat the wire up so I torched the wire with a bbq lighter for a few minutes than started to inject solder into the middle until it was one huge fused ball of wires and solder. If I had a crazy 250 amp solder gun this would've looked a lot nicer, either way I was able to yank it and it didn't come loose so good enough for me, adhesive heat shrink and threw some tech flex over it because I didn't want to waste my electrical tape.

some more electrical tape to cover the exposed wire and call it a night.

Took the car for a test drive, no more strobe light gauges, headlights or brakelights or random check engine lights due to items not getting power. Next on this car is getting new brake shoes for the rear drums and eventually replacing the shocks and springs on this thing so it doesn't ride like a car in a tornado!

So at the moment not much is going on with my car, I am currently contemplating a few major changes to it one mainly being the color. Second is some minor aero changes, still waiting for my wheels to come in which is going to cause me to go ham on suspension parts. Going to get a bunch of SPL goodies from Jordan Innovations to help dial out that toe. I want to retain as much sidewall as possible with the new wheels.

Togue Factory says they will have rocket bunny in November so I'm going to scoop up a deck lid for sure, and gonna try getting things done with my engine in October like replacing the t25 finally and all of my exhaust leaks, if I'm lucky maybe I'll fix my idling issues too.

The electric system currently is experiencing a minor hook up, my passenger side headlight has been having intermittent problems for a while now, I noticed the wire heating up on the way to wekfest back in February but now the headlight doesn't work at all, nothing could've changed in the harness and it's not grounding anywhere. Jeff suggested that something else may be running power through it, it is on the opposite side of my cars main acc power wire so it's a possibility.

At this point I'm going to replace my fuse panel with one of those blue sea 12 fuse panels and get my alarm installed once I hear from my buddy Desmon Margan about getting it shipped to me.

Also thinking of painting the car Brilliant Blue with the new aero changes in 2012-2013.

In 2009 when I took it upon myself to relocate my engine bay fusebox to the passenger side airbag area of my car. My electrical experience was in building pc's, I'm not the guy who knows how a circuit works, how a relay functions, or how many ohmz, volts, or amps is traveling through a wire and what size wire is needed to accomodate that flow of energy.

And I suspect many of you are in the same boat. Obviously there was a better way to approach this but again now I have more knowledge of electrical after troubleshooting all of the mishaps, but because I have a good friend who started his own business doing this stuff for a living and he has an electrical engineering background doing wire harnesses for helicopters in the military. I leave changes and suggestions up to him.

I eventually started to have some issues such ass my battery wasn't charging (battery relocated to the trunk of the car as well when I bought it.) I have since re-routed the wire to a safer location (not by the fuel lines under the car =/ where they were originally.) But now running alongside the rear body harness wiring protected in the oem shielding. It was narrowed down to me sucking ass at crimping 4gauge wire, and eventually the vibration from the motor loosened up the charging wire.

2011 Jeff Jordan saves the day!

Thus giving intermittent on and off charging to the battery and destroying an alternator. Some time had passed since then, now I noticed my car would have some charging issues yet again, all the cables previously ridden with problems were replaced and re-crimped but my charging setup was running retarded hot. Turns out after having Jeff look it over he determined my charging setup (although it worked) was incorrect and actually dangerous. So we re-routed how my charging wire setup was, and relocated the two wires going into the bigger fuse junction box onto the fuse panel and eliminated the 60/80 fuse setup from the factory I tried to replicate.

The end product being this guy.

So now I have a 4ga wire that provides positive power from the battery, linked to a 100amp fuse. The silver wire goes to the starter which has a wiring going to the battery in the trunk, and a wire is daisy chained from the starter to the alternator. to charge everything else in the chain. Battery is grounded in the trunk (dur)

Body electrical is now handled by the junction fusebox and we never hooked up the a/c - blower motor wiring because I didn't have any space left on the fuse panel. I'll eventually upgrade to a 12 fuse box instead of a 10. Or something like one of the boards from performance-electronics.com I saw Ryan B. Use on one of his projects. That way I can have a cleaner box made rather than my shitty plexiglass box.

Lately my passenger side headlight has been acting up. The car originally was a Zenki 240sx, the headlight wiring requires two wires for the headlights where as a Kouki projector just requires power and a ground. I didn't realize this when I originally sleeved the body harness so I have an extra power wire hanging out at each end both caped off and taped up, but I'm sure it could cause a problem given a certain situation.

This started happening way back when but I think the charging issues I mentioned above started to exacerbate things. So here is a photo of my passenger headlight wiring which I have removed the fuse from for the time being.

Taken about 20 minutes ago before posting on the blog.

Turns out not enough current is flowing through the wire to break the fuse like it should but it's enough to slowly heat it up. And last thing I need is the fusebox that powers the entire car to melt on me. So I'm assuming it's either touching somewhere or something is making contact on the bottom of the fusebox. I got so much money tied up right now with wheels and court that I have none to spare on shit I would like to have done. But I guess it's time to hit the drawing board and figure out how I'm going to handle the interior electronics of this car with the help of Jeff.

Seat game and where it's headed.

So when I got this car back in 2008, it had came with a "bride" seat. Out of every car I've ever built, I am not one to buy knock off parts, nor can I tolerate them being in my car. I mean if someone is going to break into my car to steal something, it better damn well be worth breaking into my car for.

Now if you bust a 200 dollar window for a 200 dollar seat, thinking you just came up on a 1500 dollar seat. Yeah I'm gonna have a problem with that, especially when it comes to talking to my insurance adjuster. So here we are at ground alpha. This to me is worse than stock.

Really I don't need to go into details as to why this seat isn't authentic, but there are no NEO CHROME VELOUR Bride seats.

Needless to say I had an s13 I had planned on building and since the seat bolt pattern is the same I figured I'd pocket a little change for the seat "50 bucks" to get it out of my sight instead of throwing it away. Which was probably the right thing to do.

So bam I had this guy in my car since 2009.

So everytime I roll up somewhere and get out of my car, if someone is standing next to my driver door they're like "WTF AN S13 SEAT?" And I go and tell them the story about the seat above. Then they go on to tell me the seat in my car is the worst seat ever invented and how it's uncomfortable, shitty, blah blah.

It's probably safer than that replica seat posted above that was made in some chinese factory by someone who got to work with no fucks given and put that missy elliott sweatsuit fabric on it. So yes I rocked the s13 seat, I thought it was more comfortable than my passenger seat to be honest, but I've always been on the lookout for a spare s14 seat in base model trim where I didn't have to buy a pair and try to sell the passenger I had left over and the s13 seat.

Turns out my buddy Tyler (who's blog I won't link because he hasn't updated that shit in 2 years) had a base model driver seat for an s14 laying around he wanted to offload. We discussed this back at all star bash, I had put it off due to other fiduciary responsibilities. Welp something cut into that so I got sinbad with my shit and just got the seat anyway even though that money is someone elses. It shouldn't of existed and I should be flat ass broke right now.

But I guess the LA Court system can wait another 2 months right, because September is LXZ month.

Personally, I liked the s13 seat way better. If I could, I would run OEM honda civic del sol seats in my car, I think those are the best performance bang for the buck seats you could possibly buy. They sit low as hell, have great side bolster support, and look good. The s13 seat was pretty close to that but I gotta face it, shit was out of place, haggard sweat stains from the gym. And now with this off of my mind I gotta put something aside for when I step my seat game up.

I personally love these seats, they're going to take the seat game to the hnl imo. And I am torn if I'm going to go half leather, half fabric or just go all in for some full leather seats. For some reason if I'm going to be paying 2 grand for a chair, I might as well get it animal style. And that doesn't even include rails or sliders, so that purchase is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY on the bottom of my list.

But how legit are these seats?

Recaro Sportster CS

They come stock in the VW R32, but with a different fabric pattern all leather, look hot as fuck. The Audi RS4 also has these seats with slightly modified bolsters up top. Anyway that's what I want, mind is set, don't want status, don't want bride, don't want cobra, simpson, or sparco.

So if this explains why I could give a rats ass about what seats I have in my car, it's because I got my head in the future, I don't have time to be worrying about what's in there now.

Operation replacement radiator.

So I'll keep it short, if you saw my previous entry : You ever have that feeling.... I mentioned my temps randomly jumped up 20-40 degree's Celsius. I've noticed coolant stank from the radiator but for sure I thought it was a leaky upper hose due to my temp sensor buoy.

But I removed the cap on the radiator and I guess it let air into the radiator which lets whatever water/coolant it was holding in piss all over the floor. Luckily my boy Jack @ Jordan Innovations was selling a griffin radiator for an s13sr20det. Although it's not for my chassis, it will get the job done and he had it there, no wait. I threw it on my tab with my wheels and came down Sunday to their shop in Irwindale to wrench on the car.

Needless to say I got a whole lot of shit done.

Just parking the car this is how much coolant I was losing from the hole.

I took my upper core support off to navigate in here a bit easier.

Luckily the coolant had no rust in it. yellowish green with a hint of red from the water wetter.

Jeff had this stuff on deck since he's an authorized AMSOIL dealer. So I threw it in!

You may not notice it as well but there is a different air filter on my car now, I've been running the same blitz air filter since I bought this motor, never cleaned it or anything smart like that. Jeff so happened to have an AEM 3 inch synthetic filter in stock (which they carry and sell btw) and it's been on my to do list so I did the damn thing.

Jeff and Jack are like the devils advocate because they know I'm attentive and pretty easy to talk into things lol. Apparently I'm buying a full SPL rear subframe setup once they become dealers. Sooner or later I'm going to be told I gotta be at sema next year in the booth next to Jeff's LS1 FD because I damn near drive a Jordan Innovations shop car.

Got a long way to go, next I need to replace my turbo and get my new valve cover setup back in here.

Now for the longest time it had bothered me that I had this fucking chip in my paint right above the intercooler inlet, plus the intercooler itself has been looking a bit haggard due to rock chips and the norms. So Jeff had some satin black laying around so I could take touch up paint to the hole nova leva.

All in all I'm glad that I have such good friends who are in the industry, it's like my own personal autozone and second home to wrench on my car. You may just think you're looking at a picture of stock base model 1995 s14 seats...

well guess what, that's the whole point? I constantly get asked why I had a 1991 s13 seat in my driver seat area (mind you with holes and shit in it)

1. My car came with a fake Bride seat, I don't play that shit, plus it was that fake alcantra crap so it always made me sweaty.

2. It was comfortable, everyone says s13 seats are uncomfortable, well mine was low, wide, great driver position, and wasn't a piece of shit. And it was OEM so I felt secure as a temp replacement.

Turns out my buddy Tyler had a spare driver seat since he bought a pair to put a nice s14 seat as his passenger seat in the party car. I was supposed to pick this up after ASB but shit came up and I ordered Kranze LXZ's so my money has been greatly tied up.

I was supposed to pay my state referee ticket this month, but once I had to dip into the money instead of getting it out of my hands and into the city's asap. I just went full ignant and spent it on other things that needed to be taken care of, like the radiator that recently burst.

I'll post more on that stuff tomorrow since I only updated zilvia and not my own blog.

That you're probably slowly watching your head gasket blow as you're driving to work?

my temps are in the following degree formats.

70c/158f warm
80c/176f when doing spirited driving
90c194f when spirited uphill for long periods and quickly will go down to 80c

So having it jump between 100c/212f and 110c/230f for 30 minutes driving 40mph on the streets hurt my heart.

I sat and let the car try to cool down with the hood open about 15 minutes, no abnormal heat coming from the engine bay, turbo doesn't seem to be affected. I'm wondering if my coolant may have leaked out in a mass amount. I'm going to stop by the gas station and fill it up with distilled water and see what the verdict is. Otherwise I'm not too sure what to do at this point.

I was supposed to pay my state ref ticket this morning of 900 dollars but due to bofa systems being down I was unable to get monies and went home and went to sleep, didn't think much of it.

Now I may have to spend that money, risk getting my license suspended and having my insurance dropped. yeah no pressure. I'm not stressing out at all.

It was alright but I was tired as hell....

see me sleeping before it was 80+ degree's

So I left around 1:20, it got stupid hot like ASB almost and I started to get dizzy. I was going to sit in my car and go to sleep but I saw two other cars leave so fuck it, I left too.

A lot of friends who drove the event said that they felt robbed, there was no driver cap and at 80 dollars a car and almost 80 cars not to mention almost 60-70 cars for the car show I think they financially made out pretty well, although I saw some hype about food trucks and shit. No food trucks to be found so I was a bit bummed.

I think this was snapped as I was getting ready to drive off.

The pit area was super un-organized people were parking in front of other people and blocking them in, that kind of sucked .

Observations, a lot of "drifters" seriously can't drift for shit, the event was horribly laughable and not because of the event organizers but the drifters themselves. Some guy trailered his car out to the event and flew into a barrier and pretty much crushed his s14. So funny hahahaha!

This is exactly why I don't even bother with it, a lot of people are like "oh I need V8, I need all this power" No you need to learn how to fucking drive first, having 4-500hp on tap isn't going to make you JTP over night. So much front tire smoke today even the emcee was just talking shit on the cars.

After today I can appreciate events like Nisei and Wekfest or driving events like ASB that only allow approved cars into their shows or events.

I made it out and that's all that matters, my last trip to one of those events period. Made 30 bucks and that's the only reason I went.

Making the first payment on my LXZ's this month, going to really miss that money. So much stuff I could have gotten done to the car with that money. Would like to get my replacement turbo on, replace a bunch of small things here and there.

Going to check out my steering rack and ball joints on Tuesday. The car handles just fine but it's making a weird popping noise when turning hard right and going in reverse. It's not the biggest concern but it's a new noise and I don't want a problem to develop from it.

I'll post some pictures from my buddies new shop. Since I have nothing interesting to share! Here is one of the first Jordan Innovations stickers you will ever see. Now he has a fancy one with one of those Military connectors all chromed up. About a year ago he decided to go into business for himself since people suck at electrical. And I am proud to say business is great for Jeff, I really am proud of him.

Now instead of doing work out of his garage he's getting official, I can only see things going up for him from here, he's great at networking and he's like a hooker with his mouth but talking about electrical instead of johns. You can't help but nod and pretend you know what he's talking about sometimes haha.

Garage S hood showed up today, ran a little test fit. my pins wouldn't let the hood sit flush but fits like a glove otherwise. Need to order up some new aerocatch pins for this guy and install them. I think I'll also have a thin mesh grill put in the two larger vents by the radiator to semi obstruct the view of my engine compartment and access for critters to make a home in there.

Next up, this guy is for sale, it's a replica GP Sports roof wing. Because I eventually will be putting a rocket bunny trunk wing on my car the roof ring has to go, plus the double sided tape started to come loose and it got on my damned nerves.

fitment is spot on, no gaps or shitty stuff. Probably better than the original. (PROBABLY)

HOW TO:
Replace your damaged radio trim in a 1995-1997 240sx.

(obviously if you're not mentally retarded, removal is the opposite.)

So basically the story of an 16 year old cars life. Interior trim gets fucked up if not by you one of the previous owners. Some people would rather leave the cracked up interior pieces in there or if you were me. Mine originally looked like the new piece on the left below, but every mount that held it to the center console was broken.

Meaning they allowed someone with inhumane retard strength put screws back into it damaging the trim retainers. So first things first, head onto autozone with at least 1 original nissan screw. #10 3/4 is the most relevant sizing out of all of these. I just so happen to be missing TONS of these screws all around my dashboard or interior in general so I stocked up on them. The #8's are too thin for anything but the selection is less than robust at autozone.

About 8 dollars set back, this will make you.

So this guy right here is the second plug by your power outlet if you have no idea what the hell it is, it's actually a light bulb, the clear plastic (which you probably can't see because your car is caked up with dirt because it's older than shit and you don't clean dumb shit like this.) is a light up ring letting you know your using the outlet for power.

You're going to want to tilt this little bastard like so while sticking a small jewelry screwdriver bit (flathead preferable) GENTLY into the squared tabs holding it in. You break one then just forget the stupid light, it's not necessary and I have no idea what size bulb to even replace this shit with.

The ring around the power outlet/cigarette lighter jam actually lights up. Mine randomly lit up one night and then blew out 30 minutes later. HAHA funny car

You want to get a small screwdriver, prying tool and dig it in where that metal fold is and gently pull the body out.

You seriously don't even have to try it will come right out, when you have enough for you to grab on with your fingers just pull it out.

You should be left with this guy, which you'll have to rotate around until it just falls out
(it's not screwed in, it's just weird you will see further down.)

so easy someone from nico club can do it. I have faith in you guys.

Here is the point where you can decide if you really want to be anal and clean this stuff before reassembly. My light doesn't work so this stuff can suck it.

Here is a shot of the ring light with that blue condom off, yeah it's busted.

I used all of the short size 10 screws you really only need 4 to secure the trim piece you can use the extra to replace any interior screws you might be missing in other places.

The trim piece has virgin holes, make sure before you try using your retard strength to put everything back together (like the retard who tried to put the trim piece that came with the car back on) to thread the holes with your screws. You can lightly turn it unless you have the strength of 1000 vagina lips stacked on top of each other. It's fairly easy.

Then lightly go around and tighten 4 screws to the radio brackets like so. Remember don't go full retard on them, just like 5 percent retard.

To get the cig lighter ring back in (hint : to the left is the 2nd din pocket ) just turn it this way and it slides into place. you can rotate it anyway you want after the fact.

Then you just slide the internals of the cig lighter back in and it should be nice and firm into place, remember if you go full retard you will crack it and it will be loose and annoy the ever living shit out of you if you ever intend to plug a phone charger up to it.

There are a total of 5 screws you will need to put back two up top, two down below and one in the upper right hand corner of the coin pocket. Just like your wheels slowly thread in each screw and gently torque them down until they're nice and hand tight. (like thumb, middle finger, pointer finger tq) Again don't get this far and go all full retard and break the corners of this piece. You gotten so far and I'm proud of you!

It's almost like I have a new fucking car, I wish I could've gotten a picture of the tears coming down my eyes. Now Police who have nothing better to do than give me modified exhaust tickets while driving 30mph in 5th gear wont think I stole my car. Since the radio trim was broken all to shit, I may even get out of more tickets with this.

Next is this poor bastard, sadly I need gas money so I didn't make it rain at west covina nissan. You guys are evil for having the best prices for OEM parts and having them in stock for my car. That's where 40 percent of all of the parts from Simone came from FYI.

All finished, too bad my dashboard still looks like my buddy Thomas Brisbons broken and ashy feet.
