Mind Blowing

I never knew I would be in business, not a single idea even if I was a kid. I once dreamed to be a doctor, an interior designer, but God lead me to a happier path. Now that I am a copywriter, crafter, and businesswoman, I thank God that He puts me to a place that best suits me. Now I understand why I was not accepted in my Interior Design course, even in Architecture, because I was destined to have Simone's Closet and work for a US company. God's plans are really mind blowing, you think so? :)

And now that everything is starting to fall into their own places as dictated by God's time, I can feel more and more pressure, and mind blowing decisions I have to make. I am being more mature as to what things to set aside, and to prioritize. I am so happy that I am doing all the things I love. And right now, I have to release what my mind is trying to speak. I just need to write what's inside my mind or else I am pretty sure I won't be able to sleep. haha! I have lots of things and plans I need and I want to accomplish, and I am actually thinking of drawing them, display on my work table, so it could be a reminder to me to push forward and never stop. Di na ako bumabata kaya gorabels lang sa mga plano sa buhay.

Anyways, I am starting to get tired of my hair so I am pretty sure I would be going back to Azta Salon again to have my hair fixed again. I want to cut my hair short waaah!!! :) for a change haha! Perhaps can you help me? Should cut my hair short or retain my long curly hair? haha!

Walking On Sunshine

In the last few weeks, I am more drawn to wearing maxi skirts and maxi dresses. I want to look a lot more bohemian-ish in every outfit I am wearing. I am recently inlove with this skirt, so much that I wanted to wear it all over and over again.

This was the outfit I wore on the first day of Simone's Closet's Eastwood bazaar. Maxis are my uniform whenever I have bazaars. It's much easier to wear and move around, plus you get enough coverage for sudden moves, and mosquito bites haha! Seriously, maxis are my thing, and it suits the accessories I am selling and people notice me easily when I am in a maxi!

Tried tying my hair up for a change, and a walking pose for another change, so I do hope you love the photos as much as I do. I am little by little going back to my normal routine. So please bear with me as I do several posts that are really super delayed haha! It's still better be late than never at all. haha!

I have to get moving, I have lots of things to finish for my work, at home, and for Simone's Closet! I do hope you are enjoying your day!

Real-time Update: Eastwood Bazaar May 16-19

Hi guys! It has been 6 days since my last post and I am dying to share all with you all the backlog posts I was supposed to publish. I am really thankful for having a busy life lately, this only means overflowing opportunities are coming. And just recently, Simone's Closet was able to join again another bazaar in Eastwood and I can't thank enough God that He has given me a very nice booth partner to begin with. 4 days of selling is not an easy task and I am so beyond thrilled to have shared the 4 days with Bella and Kevin of LES MODA. I have known them online, but it was our first to meet personally and bond together. God really knows the right people to share with me.

I am the most boring person alive, who only have few friends and I can only count them on my fingers. I think my personality is just so weird that I only get to be friends with people whom I can be myself truly, and Bella and Kevin are some few additional people on my friends list. For 4 days, we share the same passion for DIYs, handmade stuffs, photography, life and kids, career, and business. Imagine, waking-up so early and getting home around 2am in the morning for four straight days? Imagine the body pains, headaches, stress, hunger, and endless perspiration we have to experience for 4 days... but it was all worth it. Not only because we sell a lot, but because we gained friendship, and bonding along the way, and which I think is the most important thing!

MISS YOU GUYS and looking forward to our next bazaar! :)

Another summer outfit I wore to the beach last April and I only remembered to post the photos now haha! It's really hard to catch up on saving all your photos to an external hard drive when you know you are using 4 different camera memory cards hahahaha! such a pain in the neck!!! The moment I got a little wee bit of time I swear to organize all our family photos and have them printed and compiled! Our family just love pictures and cameras too haha!

Moving on, don't you just love my shorts? It reminds me of a cold Pina Colada! :)

Flamenco

This skirt from Undernourished Manila is just a breath of surprise whenever I wear it. It's my second time to don it and wow people just stare whenever I walk while I am in it. It's because it moves, and flips as I glide and gives you that taray effect as you walk. haha! Wore this to my last day of bazaar in Eastwood and even my clients ask if I sell my skirt, coz if I do, they'll buy it right there and there. But sadly NO. haha! I went back to The Ramp, Trinoma yesterday and asked the saleslady if they still have this skirt ( this one comes in two more colors) but sadly, wala na! huhuhu! Been searching for a skirt like this and I failed. Maybe I'll ask Undernourished Manila if they would make some again haha!

By the way don't you think this skirt is very much perfect for a Flamenco dance? haha! I feel like dancing (in my dreams haha)

COLOR SPILL

Happy Island

Like I said on my previous posts, I was sifting all the photos we have on our April adventure to an undiscovered island in Batangas. Finally, I was able to pick a few pieces to share with you guys! We have 400 pictures or 500 if I am not mistaken, and posting them all here would surely make your laptops hang to death hahaha!

We stayed in Batangas for two days and rented a house at Sigayan Bay Bech Resort. I must say the place is really nice, super worth the money plus it's like you brought your house there, complete with every kitchen utensils and appliances that you'll need.

We were told by the owners of the resort that they offer island hopping to an island that hasn't been discovered yes. The sea travel by boat took us 10-15 minutes. So imagine how nervous I was haha! I know a few swimming strokes and we were all given life vests, but what makes me afraid of the sea, are sharks! yay! haha! Good thing nothing appeared haha!

So as you can see above, the island is so divine. White sand, super crystal clear water, and lots of white and different sized seashells all over! We so love the rock formations that made me imagine that perhaps during night time, mermaids come to land and sleep on them haha! If only time don't run that fast, I would love to stay there until dawn.

Crafting Takes The Bad Vibes Away

So I am staying inside the house today (duh! I know I know) because the house is still on renovation so we can't just leave the house open to everyone haha! Kainis noh? I should be somewhere now relaxing and perhaps walking inside UP Diliman while my brother takes my outfit shots, then we'd eat lunch in Eastwood, and roam somewhere else. BUT it didn't happen so mejo bad vibes ako earlier, haha! Good thing crafting takes them all way. It's proven and efffective! Kesa malosyang ako kakasimangot, I just went straight ahead my crafting table, started cutting, braiding, and knotting non-stop!Just a few minutes of crafting and all the BV is gone!

And speaking of crafting, I have my masterpieces up for sale on Simone's Closet. Just freshly uploaded so better check them out now. There are a lot of gift items you can buy for your moms!

You can also visit us next week MAY 16-19 at the Eastwood Central Plaza (where the bazaar area is) We have a booth there filled with new cobwebs and new accessories! Our booth is facing TGI Friday's! My lovely saleslady and me will be there from 10am to 12midnight! :)

I think most of us love anything nautical: blue and red and white, stripes, and anchors of course. Me loves anchors and the moment I saw this shirt (take note the shirt has fringes too, making it double thumbs up for\ me!!!) afar while walking inside Landmark Trinoma, I ran as fast as I could so I could take this one last piece over the rack haha! It's my new fave shirt now!!! yay!

Bright Night

I am not a big fan of taking pictures at night. Well simply because, I am forced to using flash and I hate it so much. But, yeah, nothing hurts with trying something new, isn't it? So I let my brother take my pictures with a flash and the outcome is not that bad after all. I kind of like the effect it gave into the pictures. Love it too? :)

Anyways, I am working out a new collection coming this Sunday I'll try my best to post some sneak peek photos here. I still can't focus on creating a huge collection online, like I used to do, since I am occupied with preparing Simone's Closet's upcoming bazaars for summer. We're nearly done with our summer bazaar adventure, and once we do, I am sure to going back my usual routine again :)

Near The Seashore

I am not a swimmer but I know a few strokes haha and up to now after a 3 weeks of visiting this beautiful island, I have been dreaming of going back to that heavenly place once again. I feel like I belong to the sea which made me think if I was once a mermaid on my past life? haha!

I will be sharing with you a photo diary of our summer getaway this weekend. It's really hard to collect photos especially if you have 3 cameras with you the entire time haha! For now, I hope you enjoy my boring swimming outfit haha! yeah yeah, I know, in as much I'd like to remove my top and bare naked with my swimsuit, I just can't. My conservative self and my conservative dad is stopping me to haha!

If you have been following me on instagram you know for sure how tight my schedule was in the past days and as much I am itching to blog about a lot of things, I just can't anymore during weekends. I remember I was only daydreaming of making Simone's Closet big (bazaars here and there, overflowing stocks, getting wholesale clients) and now I can't almost imagine that I am now doing all of them and I cannot be thankful enough for all the blessings God is showering on me. God really has His own time frame and I am just so thankful that He has given me the right time and opportunity to do all of these.

And because I am super duper busy during the weekends. I will make my blog posts more updated than usual during my weekday posts. If needed, I'll post 2 entries per day just to catch up on things I wanted to share with you all. Plus I am thinking of doing a giveaway to share my blessings to all of you!!! So watch out for that alright?

For now, I have to leave (again) but will be back in the afternoon for some instagram updates so please do follow me @simonesfashioncloset. I have some photoshoot sessions in the afternoon in preparation of our Mother's day special collection this coming weekends! Watch-out for that okay? Loosen Up

If there's one thing I 've learned from business is that, you cannot always guarantee that you can do all the works by yourself. You need the help of others. Back then I was so stressed whenever bazaars are coming. I am cramming preparing for stocks, set-ups, and even the manning booth. Good thing my life loosens up a bit now that I have 2 trusted helpers to back me up. It was a hard decision at first to take them under your responsibility, but it pays off that I do business not for myself but to also help others. That's why Simone's Closet is now a bit more aggressive to trying out different bazaars. I am quite getting the hang of it and hopefully in time everything would work out fine!

By the way that was my outfit on day 2 bazaar in Eastwood. I needed to wear something to loose so I could open the space much easier and comfier. I am actually thinking to go back to Eastwood again next week! Would you visit me there? :)

Back From Where It All Started

Sometimes cliche' as may it seems, the line "Ang marunong tumingin sa pinaggalingan, makakarating sa paroroonan" still works for me. No matter how many make jokes about it, still it makes sense to me.

For 3 years of crafting and selling, I never see myself to be this busy and savoring all the goodness life of a crafter and a bazaarista has to offer. Pardon me if I am being sentimental but in the past months of joining bazaars, I've come to realize how far I've gone through since day one I started crafting. And I can't get through this day without me releasing all those mixed emotions I am feeling right now.

I remember during the multiply days, (I started in multiply) what's trending back then is selling clothes. I started selling ukay clothes but got tired a bit so I thought of incorporating accessories to my line of products. I was a one clueless girl of how things work if I were to make my own accessories line. I don't know when,where,how to begin. What to make, where to buy materials, and where on earth should I get my accessories design.

Handmade accessories back then, are not so much a big hit as compared to China-made metal accessories we see here and there. I started buying some in Quiapo, sell them in the internet and make profits. BUT that didn't make me happy, something's lacking and I know it is because I find the routine too easy, and just like what the rest is doing. So I gave myself a challenge, to make my own design. HOW? Since I don't have enough bucks to buy materials, I knew I have to start from recycling. The very first accessories I did, is a papermache pendant necklaces, which apparently, I was not able to save some photos from my multiply account (waahhh saddd ) But whoever bought from me back then, please do comment here and perhaps spare me some photos? haha!

Moving on, the papermache pendants were a hit BUT the production is taking me too long so I aborted that mission and thought of another material to use. I came to thinking beads, would be a great replacement, BUT then again, it's a material that almost accessory sellers are using, hence, I won't be able to create a name and identity for myself.

A little more impatience and waiting for answers, I was near to giving up. But good thing I saw a stash of my old t-shirts and some ukay clothes I bought for Simone's Closet, which happen to have some holes and flaws, something poof inside my mind!!! I remember back in my high school days when I make quilt table covers out of excess fabrics, so I started cutting strips from my old shirts, played around those, experimented until finally I just saw my shop filled with photos of my designs.

who would have thought I could make the cobwebs sell?! It was so hard to market it at first, but with God's help and a lil' marketing strategy, everything paid off!

I think when you love what you're doing, you won't notice the time, or you won't even notice if you're having enough sleep or not. You barely even notice that you started with one design but in a span of a moment, you did actually have more than what you could imagine. And as I look back on the times, most especially on the onset of my crafting my days, I have seen a lot of my works and I can say, I improved a lot. These are just some of what I had already made, and as I look onto them it summarizes how enjoying my 3 years of crafting.

To those who are asking how to begin, well there is no other way but to begin. To just do it (like I always say) even if you don't know how because eventually you'll find a way how to get there. Take inspirations, view others' works, but NEVER COPY. Take some pegs, to begin with, but ALWAYS LEARN ALONG THE PROCESS, CULTIVATE YOUR OWN STYLE, NEVER IMITATE but rather develop your own design, most importantly, MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Think of something that would create a mark for yourself. Something that in the long-run would benefit you. Something that would define who you are and not someone else's. It is still rewarding to know, that people appreciate your works because they see it as your labor of love and your own piece of mind. Try to be different at all times even if you think you're making a fool out of your masterpiece. Who the hell cares if you make a necklace that someone won't even bother to wear? It's better that way, the more different you can get, the more you'll open more chance for your works to shine. STRIVE FOR THE BEST.

In the entire process of crafting and selling, it is still the smiles, praises, and your customers' satisfaction, that matter, then comes next the reward of getting paid for your work of art. I've learned to look back from day 1, the ups and the downs, during times I want to stop and quit, or during the times I ran-out of ideas. Always craft and discover more ways and more ideas. And of course, when crafting gets though, the best way to remedy it is to look back and remember day one.

And because summer means colors to me, I can't help but put them all together in my outfit! I hope I don't look like a rainbow haha! I am lovin tie-dye shorts lately. They add that instant amount of summer colors on your outfit! Plus see that bayong bag? It's my new box bag made of bayong, covered with fabric! Don't you just like it??!:)

Oh well, I am keeping this short and simple since I am a bit not feeling well, caused upon by 4 straight days of lack of sleep. I'll take a short nap in a bit before diving to a pool of work! :)

Home Is Where Your Heart Is

Ever since I gave in to crafting, I found 2 or more homes to keep me sane. Aside from my family, I found handmade bazaars, my co-crafters, and my usual bazaars, my another homes. Home is where your heart is, and for the past 4 days of selling in Eastwood- though I am totally nervous about it- I found a new home to feel secure, and happy, even if I am not with my family. And the above photos show some snippets of how happy those days were and I can't be anymore happy to share an entire blog post about it.

For now, I am trying to catch up with the 4 days I was gone, so please expect one more psot right after this! Meanwhile, here's another feel-good song I am currently listening to. In as much as I love oldies songs, I also love some covers that added twist and new melody to the old songs. One of which is a cover done by Max Schneider and Megan Nicole, for Al Green's LET'S STAY TOGETHER.

Butterfly In My Stomach

There's one thing I love about these photos, the backdrop is monochromatic, paving the way for my colorful dress to stand-out! This is the outfit I wore on the first day of the 10A Alabama Arts and Crafts fair. I love maxis so you will be seeing me more in this plus shorts and dresses haha! It's easier for me to move in a maxi dress whenever I join bazaars. Keri kahit magbuhat ng boxes and magin amazona with of course looking fab and fashionable. Good thing my closet never runs out of maxis haha!

10A Alabama Arts & Crafts Fair

FIRST DAY

SECOND DAY

If there's a bazaar that's close to my heart, it's 10A ALABAMA arts and crafts fair. It feels like home to be there. You feel at ease and happy. I tend to reunite with my co-crafter friends, and chat about endless possibilities in crafting. The buying crowd is really into handmade stuffs they really appreciate works unlike those crowds of buyers I have seen in other bazaars, some mock your work or make jokes out of it but it's okay kahit na may onting ouch sa heart haha!

Never did I imagine that a small and hidden place like Alabama would be that crowded for the two days that I was there. It feels so happy to see people smiling and loving your masterpiece. Shopping your items and hear good praises. It may be a two-day tiring and perspiring day, but all is really worth it.

I never had the chance to roam around, and take pictures, but I am pretty sure there will be more Arts and Crafts fair coming! To all those who dropped by my booth, said their hi's and hello's and of course to those who shopped my cobwebs and accessories, a big big thank you!!! Until the next 10A Alabama Arts and Crafts fair!

I See The Sea

If I would be given a chance to live in Disney Land, where the magic and surreal things can happen, I'd like to be a mermaid and live in the sea. I love to swim so much that even Marise inherited it haha!

Anyways, on to my outfit, here's what I wore on my first day by the beach! I seriously can't contain how beautiful the Laiya beach was and I am so excited to share a photo diary with you! Dont' you just love how perfect this dress is? It' simple defines who I am and that's the reason I instantly bought this.

I am about to hop on my real job now, so I got to go now, finish my job and sleep early!

SM Kids Launch

First of all, I would like to thank Krissy for inviting my family weeks ago on the SM Kids launch, we really did enjoy the super colorful, summer-y, and fun afternoon at the Dusit Hotel pool area! Aside from enjoying the yummy food, the short styling session, and my chit chats with my fellow bloggers, Marise was able to play around with other kids too, and finally she met Athan na! :)

Okay, there's one thing I am guilty of, and that is, I shop for Marise's wardrobe. Ever since I was a kid, I have been an SM kiddo! SM department store is one of the reasons why I have a deep love for fashion. My dad is actually the brain behind all of my fasyon kiddo outfits. Sya talaga namimili ng isusuot ko, and our go-to shopping venue, is always SM department store.

Now that I have my own kiddo to dress-up, it's still SM kids department store, is our shopping haven! I want Marise to enjoy wearing colors, prints, tutus, skirts, and all the trendy outfits I was not able to enjoy back then. Aminin, those kids' clothes sold in the department stores during the early 90s, ay di ganon ka-trendy as compared today. And whenever I bring Marise to SM department store, our eyes pop with all those wide selection of super duper fashionable clothes! I remember I told myself, sana may pang-mommy version haha! And see those two outfits Marise are wearing in the photos? They're all from SM kids section!!! Super cute right?!

I bet to all the mommies out there, you squeal and giggle whenever you see your daughters walking in such adorable and fashionable outfits, right?! I know because I am guilty of it! So the next time you do your shopping for your kids, be sure to do it the most fashionable kiddo department store, SM Kids!

Maroon +Neon

Hey guys! While I am typing this I am dreaming of a 1 liter can of cheese and strawberry ice cream, the heat is becoming really unbearable! My migraine starts to get even worse. waaahh I just wish I live next to the beach or a pool, so I could just dive-in the moment the heat starts to attack! haha!

Anyway, this was the outfit I wore on the SM Kids Launch I attended with Marise and hubby last week. I will be sharing with you my experience tomorrow on my blog post! Don't you just love the color combination of the outfit? it reminds me of grapes and cheese haha! I love how maroon blended so well with neon yellow! :)

I've been wearing dresses, skirts, and shorts lately. Those are the stuffs I really can be comfy with right now. Sa sobrang init I can no longer wear leggings, or jeans. :)

After Beach Look

Hey guys! I am back from the beach! I super enjoyed swimming, taking photos, collecting shells, eating, and building sand castles for 2 days! I didn't bother anymore if I get a bit dark all that matters to me is to make the most out of my idle/rest time! I deserve it naman right? haha! I work super hard but just took 2 days to rest and I am glad that I spent it to do all the relaxation activities I need. So the photos above, shows my outfit yesterday when I arrived in Manila. As you can see I got tan skin haha! Summer is my favorite time of the year next to Christmas for I can all be a full-pledged bohemian in my outfits! By the time you are reading this short post, I am pretty sure I am in Laiya, Batangas already! Yay! Finally, I could have some days to rest and unwind :) We will be there for 2 days so I'll see you on Friday alright?! Some New Things

Okay so I am the most un-shopaholic girl ever in this world! ahaha! I can't do impulse shopping, I can't shop without even thinking 10times if I should buy the item or not. haha! I shop only unless needed haha! This may probably because I was really born to be kuripot haha! Kidding aside, ever since I was a kid I know how to handle money kahit na P2.00 lang yan, I want the most out of my money whether it'd be a big sum of money or just a penny. Businessman thinking talaga haha! The point is, I seldom shop haha!The last time I shopped was weeks ago and the recent things I got were a pair of summer shorts, and a pair of neon sandals! Those sunnies, (I don't buy sunnies haha I usually borrow from hubby since he has a A LOT!) were from my girl friend, Christine Liwag of CRAVE MORE!

Apparently I am ready to hit the beach! haha! I can't wait to dip in the sea and pick-up shells! haha! By the way, have you gone to the beach already? :) I envy those in my facebook newsfeed, posting their beach trip photos, and their mala-dyosang bikini body haha! I can't wait to hit the beach!!! :)

Bazaar For All Season SUMMER EDITION Part 1

Yey! Another photo diary! See I am making up to the days I was gone because of my bazaars hehe! The photos above are just the first part of my BAZAAR FOR ALL SEASON SUMMER EDITION experience! I have more photos coming so I decided to cut them to two parts.

Moving on, I was there with my co-bloggers ( Bella, Kat, Rhea, Raiza, Christine, Cristina, Bestie, Laureen, and Arnie) for 2 days last April 6-7. I was invited there too last November and never the experience is always worth it and super fun! What else can you ask for when you can get to sell, shop, dine, chat, take pictures with your blogger friends and blog readers, right?! Bongga talaga! Okay I was there as a blogger but since I have no personal items to sell, I brought with me my handmade accessories from Simone's Closet! I brought a plentiful of stuffs as in haha! Thank God that the crowd really appreciated my stuffs that my stocks gone almost empty! Well I have 5 cobwebs left that day and was reserved right away before I went home! yay! Super happy! Well aside from the benta, I was super grateful with the turn-out of the event. Bihira lang ako makakita ng bazaar na ganon kapositive ang vibes. I've been a bazaarista for 2 years and so far, Jewels and the whole BFAS team is the best among all! They're the warmest, kindest, and very professional organizers I have ever met. No bias or joking here. As in! They know how to treat well their concessionaires, they are very much organized, and they really go booth by booth while the bazaar is on-going just to check if you're okay or if you need anything else. Plus, the foot traffic is SUPER TWO THUMBS UP!!! Daming tao! :) What I admire most is despite of them being tired, they did not forget to thank their concessionaires and give them their warmest smiles before leaving! SUPER ENJOY TO THE MAX! There may be slight flaws (which I think really happens) but they handled the situations very well!

I am sure to support them on their next leg!!! :) I heard they're doing the next BFAS on August 31- September 1! :) Yay! Can't wait!
