I have been tempted to start a small business 'pizza kiosk' somewhere in a big city for a living. Make the dough. Big reason being that reality is: Not easy here in Nairobi, shilling has dropped and in order to do a good shopping you have to get to the deepest of your pocket, gloom and misery to Kenyan consumers... Since I came here many consumer prices have almost doubled meaning what I spent on my shopping the first months I arrived in Nairobi Im now spending almost double...no wonder ...I woke up this morning dreaming I was keeping a small rented vegetable garden outside the city. There is this lady in my dream giving me a small garden, size of a table @ksh.2000, things are this bad..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But all in all the best way to help your small salary cope is to aim at the market (many farmers markets) in different areas. I must confess that I go to 4 different markets for various products. I have increased vegetable consumption in my daily meals and reduced the sugar. Meat I will go to the city market though they have weighing scales that have been tampered with because every time I buy meat or fish there and come home put it on my kitchen scale its never the weight they declared..God help consumers in Kenya...&lt;br /&gt;Im even thinking of hiring a cameraman, carry my scale and test them in direct TV wouldn't that be fun?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ANyway, stay home moms here is something you can try: &lt;br /&gt;fish from the city market, coated with breadcrumbs, oil and garlic accompanied by Aubergines and tomatoes all baked in the oven. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_pTYs-aKhZA/ToA4rV6ziNI/AAAAAAAADBM/tCqrFI5GJk8/s1600/delicaciesfromkenya.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 272px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_pTYs-aKhZA/ToA4rV6ziNI/AAAAAAAADBM/tCqrFI5GJk8/s320/delicaciesfromkenya.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5656583449246664914" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is easy to use breadcrumbs also in other vegetables like courgettes as they are called here. Go to markets like Kawangware or Kangemi you will buy fresh ones for ksh.20. Tomatoes you will find 3 or 4 for ksh.20 depending on sizes.&lt;br /&gt;Courgettes (low calory veg, source of folate, source of potassium and good B-Complex vitamin sources) don't ask me more you understand its good food for family.&lt;br /&gt;Tomatoes on other hand (Tomato is King of the kitchen - It contains Lycopene an antioxidant that can fight cancer cells, Vit. K, Natural Antiseptic etc)&lt;br /&gt;Ps. Then marsh it, if you have some parmesan then that is great, but if you don't have it is all the same. You can change my recipe and add also potatoes and make a pureè of potatoes with pumpkin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://cook-italian-way.blogspot.com/2007/04/fresh-pasta-revealed.html"&gt;Then get the fresh pasta recipe here I had posted in the past.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you have rolled the dough into very thin, cut into small squares and add using a spoon the pumpkin. Close as in photo, placing them on a kitchen cottoc cloth on the table. When finished put cook them in boiling water for 3 minutes and sieve.&lt;br /&gt;Serve as you like. Leave to rest.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the meantime wash and cut into small cubes the fruit, put in a container and marinate with the lemon juice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Prepare the pancakes&lt;br /&gt;on the pan melt butter,  add a serving spoon of the pancake mixture, spread it evenly, cook on both sides. Anyway I love buying from them because we need to keep everyone eating .... otherwise these people tomorrow will be out of job.&lt;br /&gt;But now Im really mad with this guy because I bought 2 kilos of meat and 431 grams was bones. Fill with olive oil making sure you don't leave bubbles of air and that the oil covers the vegetables well.&lt;br /&gt;Close tightly and sterelize for 30 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Ps. Many times I go to a restaurant and eat great food and I just come back saying to myself I wish I could cook that.&lt;br /&gt;Well, sometimes some great bloggers come up with great ideas of helping us get those lovely recipes from the chefs who made them. For the love of great food we sometimes take time to discover such bloggers. This time we are going to &lt;a href=" http://wikitravel.org/en/Sonoma"&gt;Sonoma&lt;/a&gt; wine and food country and find out about some great recipes that some great chefs from there have shared with our fellow bloggers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A friend of who is planning on a trip in the area came to see me and we went searching for travel information about the area. Being Italians of course they also need to see how the food and wine is like from there and during that time we came across a really great blog we are sharing here today.&lt;br /&gt;A  unique blog with some great &lt;a href="http://site.outdora.com/blog/article/sonomarecipes"&gt;gourmet recipes&lt;/a&gt; from various top chefs in the area. My friend and I by just looking at it I could tell that Sonoma is a great place for wines and good food and I should say he is really looking forward looks like he is going to Tuscany.&lt;br /&gt;I couldn't help but spend more time going through all the information about this place, it felt like I was in the real place.&lt;br /&gt;I also found some great ideas for summer, home deco and all living in style stuff.
