Wow, gak berasa, ternyata udah satu tahun lebih saya gak nengok blog ini.

She's been a great individual, a great team member, and a very dear friend.

Grandma is one of my dearest persons in my life. Yes, I didn't spend much time with her since I went to college, but I was close with her when I was in the junior high - when my family moved in to her house and she shared her bed with me. :')

And now she's moved on to another life. So long, Grandma, take care. Be well, and may you reborn in a better life. You'll always be loved and may we meet again one day.

Pagi tadi, bertemu Mbak penjaga kos pas saya berangkat ke kantor.
Saya (S) : Mbak, nanti pas giliran bersihin kamar, tolong ganti sprei ya. Udah saya siapin sprei bersihnya di atas ranjang.
Mbak (M) : Tapi saya minta uang setip ya, Non, soalnya berat kalo angkat2 sendirian.
S : Ooo, iya2 gak apa, gampang itu mah.
M : Oke deh, Non..
S : uang setip apaan yah?? (dalam hati)

Blogger favorit saya menerbitkan buku! Meskipun isi bukunya diambil dari blog-nya, saya merasa harus punya buku ini.

Setelah pesanan saya dibatalkan secara sepihak oleh pihak toko buku online, ternyata bukunya sampai juga ke tangan saya.

Oops... Sekarang, bagaimana cara saya bayar bukunya ya? Pembayaran saya sudah di-refund ke rekening kartu kredit saya gara-gara saya bawel.

Ironi dalam sepotong kalimat

Hari ini saya entah mengapa merasa tersinggung dengan kalimat yang dituliskan oleh seseorang di milis yg saya ikuti. Kalimatnya: "Ironis sekali mengaku buddhis tapi tidak kenal biksu A".

Entah karena ada sepotong kebenaran di dalam kalimatnya, atau karena ada nada "discouragement" di dalamnya. Entah, mungkin juga karena kebijaksanaan saya kurang sehingga bisa terpancing oleh kalimat tsb.

Saya sendiri mengaku Buddhis selama bertahun-tahun tanpa pernah mengenal ajarannya. Saya sempat malu mengaku Buddhis dan mengikuti pelajaran agama lain yg diajarkan di sekolah. Ya, saya buddhis, tapi tidak memiliki akses kepada informasi dan ajaran Buddhis.

Saya tidak terlahir di keluarga yg religius. Orangtua saya, tidak pernah mengajak saya ke vihara. Mereka mengajarkan saya untuk bersembahyang kepada Dewi Kwan Im. Dulu, saya pikir itu cukup. Dewi Kwan Im yg saya kenal dengan "Emak Bayang" itu juga saya kenal sedikit lebih jauh dari film serial Kera Sakti. Saya pikir, memuja Dewi Kwan Im adalah Buddhisme. Sampai saat saya belajar di sekolah bahwa ada seseorang bernama Siddharta Gautama yang telah mengalami penerangan sempurna. Demikian sajalah pengetahuan umum saya, seorang Buddhis, selama 18 tahun hidup saya.

Ironis. Ya. Tapi, jika ketika usia saya 18 tahun dan seseorang mengucapkan kalimat: "Ironis sekali mengaku buddhis tapi tidak kenal biksu A", mungkin saya tidak akan pernah mau mengenal lebih dalam Buddhisme. Cukup sekian dan terima kasih. Saya tidak ingin mengenal Biksu A untuk mengesahkan ke"Buddhis"an saya, karena siapalah dia - Biksu A, tanpa bermaksud mengecilkan beliau - yang harus saya kenal itu? Sesakti apa sih sampai harus dikenal oleh semua org Buddhis?

Kalau saya, keinginan untuk mengenal seseorang itu akan bertambah jika mendengar cerita tentang karyanya, pengaruhnya terhadap orang banyak, dibandingkan dengan kalimat ironi penuh sindiran seperti di atas.

Bagi saya, kalimat tersebut termasuk kategori kasar dan menyinggung. Menurut saya, ada sekelumit arogansi di dalamnya.

Kalau saya, akan berusaha menghindari kalimat demikian, karena saya sendiri tidak menyukai "impact" kalimat tersebut terhadap pembaca. Saya sendiri saja merasa tersinggung, apalagi orang lain? Bagaimana kalau ada orang lain yg merasa tersinggung dan kehilangan minat untuk mempelajari Buddhisme lebih jauh? Bukankah seharusnya orang-orang yang memiliki pengetahuan itulah yang membaginya kepada mereka yang tidak tahu?

Mungkin cuma beda gaya komunikasi. Mungkin cuma saya yang sensi saja. Tapi mungkin juga ada orang lain yang sependapat dengan saya.

This might be one of the best days in 2012. I left the office on time, when the sky was still bright. Something I never had earlier in 2012.

I went shopping with my sister, spent some time in the dressing room, leaving the other shoppers waiting outside our door :) We had a light meal, one of my favorites, okonomiyaki and takoyaki. After, we went to Giant and shop all the things needed and wanted. Dropped a bottle of UC-1000 on the floor and left it unpaid after calling the janitor. Sorry! :(

Going home after redeeming our shopping slip with two tiny jars from the mall management, I got to spoil myself with a full body treatment. Quite a luxury I didn't have within the last 2 weeks.

This is a happy day for me. How's yours?

Good news, bad news

We'd always be expecting for the good news, not for the ~~good~~ bad one.

Well, today I got a great one. Secret project in progress. Yaay.. Can't wait for the next Monday to get my special something for a special surprise for my special someone :*
I'll write here when the time has come.

I also got a not-so-good one. So, there's this someone who's been missing for quite some time and today I heard that she's actually on vacation now. Well, it's been bad before, and it's not going to get better I think.

Not that I don't care about her. I tried to talk to her but she didn't respond. I just don't know how to help her if she didn't even talk to me, right?

Yes, I'm making excuses. But I think she should've been mature enough to know about good/bad, and her attitude for the last 2 months has not been a good one.

Grandma's birthday

Today's Grandma's birthday! We had a meal in Telaga resto in Modernland Tangerang.

My wish for Grandma: wish you live a long life, health and wealth, wisdom and compassion and all the good qualities.

The food's okay but nothing special. The great thing is meeting the big family. You might not know it, but my big family is real BIG one ;)
