Literally Day Tour at Maribago Bluewater Resort

If you remember that I have won 2nd place in a blogging contest last year, one of the major prizes is a day tour at Bluewater Maribago. I won a GC but it is only good for one person only. Hmmm... The GC was issued November 2011 and I got information that it will expire in six months. Oh, I should consume within this May.

Well, it was on a Sunday last May 27, Adam and I went to Bluewater Maribago. When we arrived, the guard told us that they won't accept any day tour that moment because the resort was fully-booked by a certain BPO company. I insisted that my GC will expire this May so he told us to go to the information. I asked one of the staffs and told him about my GC. He told us to check out the place before we decide for the day tour. Indeed, we realized that we could not enjoy the beach.

Before we left the resort, we just grabbed the opportunity to take pictures of the place. He he he! This was really a day tour, literally.

We decided to go back to the lobby and told the staff not to continue the real day tour. I asked him if they could extend my GC for next week and waited if he could do something about it. He reached a phone and talked to someone who has the authority about the GC. He came back to us and signed for approval at the back of our GC that it will be valid until June 3, 2012. Yey!

So happy to know that their real concern is to let their visitors enjoy the resort. Of course, paying for a day tour is really expensive and the purpose of going there is to pamper ourselves, to relax and enjoy the place. Overcrowded resort makes me choke and we deserve a little bit of luxury.

The three of us are not cosplayers but just anime fanatics so we decided to go there with one theme in mind, the Dolly Kei Fashion. As you can see, the three of us have different personalities in a single theme. Some of the accessories I wore were just borrowed from Arcel.

Personally, I had no idea about this fashion because I am not a fashionista. Thanks to these two girls who influenced me to get into fashion. Now, I'm trying to experiment the clothes I have in my closet.

So, when we entered the room, I saw a lot of people wearing wigs with different colors. I was very amazed how colorful the room was because of the people who were into cosplay. I was speechless and smiling all night looking at them though I still talk to my friends. LOL

How Did You Celebrate Mother's Day?

Honestly, this is my first time to celebrate Mother's Day with mama. This is an advance treat at AA BBQ last Tuesday. Every mother's day, for us we treat it as ordinary day. I am not really that expressive on saying "I love you" to mama. And even today, I don't say it to mama. I find it very cheesy.

I am not used of writing melodramatic here because I don't know how to express it through writing. I could say that I am lucky to have her as my mama because she is a hardworking mom. Sometimes I think she is Superwoman.

I know for myself that I am not the best daughter. As a daughter, I also have my own (bad) attitude that a mother only understands.

Hmmm, I have nothing to write about mom but all I can say, again and again, that I am lucky to have her. I'll just keep the things how great my mom is.

We were really hungry then so we just took some photos of us before our orders arrived.

Mom wanted to order calamares but I was afraid that I could be tempted and allergy will attack again.

While my blogger friends and I went to Lapu-Lapu City for Kadaugan sa Mactan 2012, I was astonished seeing those motorcycles showcased their during the street party. I was holding my camera then one of the staffs from Honda Motor World told us that we could take some pictures of the bikes. We were really excited and I was feeling the motorbike like I own them. LOL

If you happen to read my previous post about Being AdventuRox in Motorbiking, it is really my dream to have my own so that I could travel anywhere in Cebu. I have my own bicycle which I could only travel around the town.

I love to have my own Honda Scoopy because I believe it fits for me. Being a girl, I also want to be a safe rider. I also love the vintage/retro design. :D

Confirmed! I am having more fun in blogging and social media. Because of blogging it serves as my online portfolio for being a freelance online worker of course, with the help of social media.

I started to get serious with a new blog on September 2009. Before that I had no computer, just rented a unit for few hours in various internet cafes, I was really inspired to have my own blog. I just went to different sites and reading their experiences in life with their travels, food trips and etc.

Blogging started as a hobby and now, passion. I never thought that it could be more fun when you earn until someone told me that my blog has the potential to bring in some dough. Anyway, I never expected anything to earn in just a click but it motivates me to blog more.

In blogging, I have the chance to connect several bloggers in different parts of the Philippines and the world just by reading and leaving comments on certain posts. I had no idea what SEO and online marketing were. Then I was able to meet bloggers offline through World Bloggers Day. It is really more fun to meet people with the same passion and interest. It is easy for me to ask tips and advice to improve blogging.

Blogging helps me to apply it on my various online jobs and vice-versa because my clients provide me tips, advice and online resources. In a way, I earned through blogging but not that much. It was also one of the reasons that I've been working home-based for more than two years already.

Because of blogging and social media, I have more time with my family and for myself. It is highly recommended - STRESS FREE!

Kadaugan sa Mactan 2012 with Blogger Friends

Let's welcome the month of May. Whew! Summer will soon end. Anyway, I am having a great summer that started last February in Caubian Island then ended on April at Hidden Paradise Mountain Resort in San Fernando, Cebu. Well, it's just summer season will only end but still I will continue my beach and resort adventures within this year. ;)

Last April 28, my blogger friends and I went to Lapu-Lapu City for an event. Actually, it wasn't for Kadaugan sa Mactan because at first, we didn't know about it. We already set an event on Facebook few weeks ago but I can't tell you what was. Anyway, we enjoyed Kadaugan sa Mactan.

Good thing, Ernhez has his own car so Essel and I just hitched and met up at Shopwise. Sad to say, Tata could not go because on the next day which was a Sunday, she had (summer) classes. Jan waited for us because she's living in Mactan. She also brought his friend Kevin.

I should say this is my very first night life event in 2012. I arrived Sunday morning in Naga with shades on courtesy of Adam. Since Adam was working on a night shift, we decided to meet at 4AM in Marina Mall. Last Thursday, Mom and I went to Gaisano Minglanilla to cool around. It was so d*mn hot. Anyway, before that I vomited because of hyper-acidity and allergy attacks. I lost my lunch and my stomach was empty. Well, it was also a bad hair day so I need a haircut. Still I love donning with bob hairstyle. There is Franzy Hair Salon so I go for a haircut and mom on pedicure.

Lego World at the Northwing SM City Cebu

Last Saturday on April 21, I went to SM City Cebu to buy a pair of slippers until I happened to send a text message to Jacqui to let her know I was there. Unexpectedly, she was also there at the Northwing. I really didn't know what was the event there until she revealed about Lego World.

Excited for Grand Cosplay Ball and Awards Night

Arcel and Jacqui invited me for this event and this is Cebu's First Grand Cosplay Ball and Awards Night. By the way, I am not a cosplayer but I love watching anime. When I was in high school I was really an anime fanatic.

I really don't know what to do in a cosplay ball but I don't even know what to wear but Arcel and Jacqui already had a theme in mind. Oh, I don't want to buy a dress because I seldom wear it. Anyway, thanks for the theme they have in mind so all we need is to search outfits from my mom and grandmother.

I am really excited for our meet-up because we are planning to go shopping somewhere in downtown area (Colon) to look for cheaper accessories for our theme. Oh, I can't reveal it yet because it is just a TOP SECRET. :D

Electronic Keyboard - Learning a Musical Instrument

I just want to share to you my childhood dream and that is to play the piano. I was really unfortunate then that my parents could not afford to enroll me for a piano lesson. I think I was three or four years old that I was really dreaming to be a successful pianist. I have a neighbor who teaches for a piano lesson and who happens to be my mentor when I entered a choral group when I was in elementary. Anyway, I must say an electronic keyboard is an expensive musical instrument.

Last week, Adam and I met at SM City Cebu and bought on the spot an electronic keyboard. He was really shocked with my decision because I didn't tell him ahead. The original plan was to window shop for an electronic keyboard but the lady who was selling the keyboards told us that she wasn't sure if there was still on stock within that week.

I am into self-learning. I make use of the internet and looked for piano lesson online. So far, I am able to play Brother John, London Bridge and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Haha I'm so sorry for being so noobs but it's not too late to learn, eh? I just need to practice more.

What pushed me to buy an electronic keyboard is because I was inspired after the Hanson Shout It Out Tour Concert in Cebu. I just love how Taylor Hanson play with it and he is really sexy. I don't know but I really find a guy pianist really sexy. :D

I never blamed my parents that they weren't able to support my interest on playing the piano. I understand them and now that I have enough money to buy this expensive musical instrument then it's time to pursue this dream. Anyway, we don't know that in the near future I'll be having a kid who will like to be a pianist and having this electronic keyboard could be an early investment. ^___^

Of course, I just want to do something new for myself and that is to learn a musical instrument.

Hidden Paradise Mountain Resort in San Fernando, Cebu - It's Nice to be Back

Last Sunday on April 8, 2012, my friends and I went to Hidden Paradise Mountain Resort in San Fernando, Cebu. This time I've got decent pictures unlike with the first time I went there with my boyfriend (check the post here). Yes, this is the second time around with Adam.

Any Nice Prenup Pictorial Locations in Cebu and Manila?

Last Sunday, my friends and I went to a resort for a summer outing. One of our friends announced that she will get married by the end of December. Well, it is the very best time for her and her boyfriend because they are both stable, her boyfriend working as a seaman and she is a civil engineer.

She asked me for some suggestions if I could think of a place for prenup pictorials. I know this is not easy as choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts. Hey, I am not an expert about weddings but I love this topic and also if it is my time to get married, then why not use and apply my own ideas? Well, it depends on my budget though.

Sometimes choosing unique wedding gifts really takes time especially when you are really keen of what to give to your special guests. We have to look for a special gift for them and they should not be taken for granted. Choosing a location for your prenup pictorials should not also be taken for granted. If you want a wonderful memories of your prenup then choose the best location for the both of you.

I asked her what would be the theme of their prenup pictorials. Her boyfriend wants something in the mountain like with an adventurous theme but she wants it to be on the beach. Her boyfriend is trying to avoid the sea since whole year round he is always at the sea.

Well, I have seen that most of the couples are using the beach theme for the prenup pictorials. Since I’ve been working for Groomsday.com, it is nice to see some other blogs that I was able to get some ideas. Online SSS Payment through Metrobank

I just made a payment for my monthly SSS individual contribution through Metrobank Direct, an online banking portal of Metrobank. I am really tired of going to SSS (Social Security System) office in Cebu which I need to wait for my (very long) queue. Although I pay my contributions in bulk for about every six months, still it is a very hassle task.

Being an online worker, I want my transactions to be also online especially on paying my dues for less hassle. Since I have 3-4 bank accounts, I called each bank if they have this service where we could pay SSS contributions online. Luckily, I am so happy that Metrobank has this service but I still need to enroll my account for their online banking system. I needed to go the city where my Metrobank branch is located and filled-up some necessary documents they need.

It is just this April 10, 2012 I made the transaction although I have made a mistake. The payment should be for April 2012 or 042012 but I entered 032012 (March 2012). In fact I have already paid from January to March 2012. I just hope that Metrobank will sort things out. I already sent an e-mail earlier to them.

Of course, I also asked if I can also pay my Pag-ibig individual contribution online but Metrobank said they are still working on it. I just hope that they could also offer the service as soon as possible.

To know more other banks that accept SSS online payments, check here. For now, only BancNet member banks accept this kind of service. Metrobank is also a BancNet member.

What Do You Eat for Holy Week?

Today is Holy Wednesday and most of us are on fasting right now. Fasting on eating pork. This morning, mom prepared this for lunch but I had this for brunch. Sweet and sour dried fish, fried fish and mango shake in a medium-sized cup. Yes, this is one of my favorite meal experiences.

I seldom eat bare hand. Since I am always in front the computer working on my freelance job, I always use spoon and fork to avoid using bare hands. I don't want to wash my hands during lunch or dinner to avoid spasms. Of course, I need to take care of my hands because this is an asset to my job.

This morning was the only chance I have eaten bare hands so that I could enjoy the moment.

Hanson Shout It Out Tour Concert in Cebu

I really enjoyed the concert with Hanson last night. I was with my friend Tata. Woah! Girls were crazy shouting last night. I even lost my voice today. It was my first time ever to watch a concert for an international band. Perfect time to feel good.

Indeed listening to Hanson is always a really good time. When we were young, oh yes I was young then, I keep listening to MMMBop and dance with it. When there was MTV on our television I kept on waiting for their music videos.

Running Essentials with Michelle Estuar

Last Saturday on March 24, 2012, I went to Ayala alone for the Skechers Go Run - Running Essentials with Michelle Estuar. I was wearing with my sports outfit. Actually, I am not into sports and I'm not even a runner. It's just happens that Gagay invited me for that event but she didn't come because she fell asleep (oh c'mon!).

Even though I am not a runner I was able to execute some of the warm-ups and cool-downs. Running essentials talk about mid-foot strike which is a way you're supposed to run. I never thought of mid-foot strike running.

I just wonder when I am going to wake up early and run? At this moment, it's already 2 o'clock in the morning and sometimes I think I don't have the time for running. Too bad for me. I always wake up very late. I am hoping for a healthy lifestyle though.

Excited for the Hanson Live in Cebu Concert

Did you know that I got my Hanson Live in Cebu concert ticket for a 50% discount? Yes, you read it right. Do you know where I got it? I bought the voucher at ensogo.com.ph. I was so lucky that a friend of mine shared the link on Facebook and thankful that I am already a member of the said groupon site.

So I guess this will be my first time going to a concert for an international artist or band. Mmmbop was the first hit song of Hanson and I remember myself dancing with it. I was in elementary then. Alright, I am even more excited to sing Penny and Me and it became a favorite of mine when I was in high school. By the way, the concert will be on March 31, 2012 at 8PM, Waterfront Hotel in Lahug.

My boyfriend and I went to Waterfront Hotel Lahug Hotel yesterday to redeem the tickets. Actually I bought two because the other one is for Tata, of course she will pay me in return. I really love Adam to be with us for the concert but too bad that within this week he is working on a night shift.

Getting the tickets was really funny because Adam and I were running going to the hotel by the time we dropped from 17B route. We arrived in Lahug at 6PM and we were so late that I was so scared that the I could not redeem the ticket. The redemption is from 10AM to 6PM. Good thing there were still people to whom we could get the ticket from.

Now that Simple Yet Rock is already more than 2 years old, it is just today I decided to have a .info domain for it. Actually I already purchased this last March 5, 2012 together with the renewal for Fotografi Rox. Sad to say, all the LIKES and G+1 are all gone and I have to start it all over again. Haayz!

May be I'll be doing some renovations for this personal blog of mine when things are not really that busy, hmm. There are lots of things to blog about. Hehe! May be I'll be posting a video of mine, too. ^_^

Golden Cowrie at SM City Cebu with SEO Friends

Two days before the Caubian Island trip, Marian and I met once again for a job interview. I remember the first unexpected meeting inside SM City Cebu. She was with her boyfriend, Engr. Edwin, of course - DATING. Hehehe! Well, I was with my boyfriend, Adam, dating. :)
Why it was an unexpected meeting? We only have connections through Facebook and blogging. I can easily recognize people's faces through their photos. The time I saw the couple at SM near the pet store, I approached Marian, wondering if she could recognize me so I introduced myself that I am Roxanne, her friend on Facebook but funny she remembered the screen name of my boyfriend, Rave Valentine. Hahaha! Peace Marian!

During the said scheduled job interview, I was happy to know that Marian was there thinking I wasn't alone. We met at E-mall. Her boyfriend, Engr. Edwin was with her. Checking at the time, we were late so we hit the taxi and ran. After the job interview, we decided to go to SM City Cebu and roam around because that was a holiday.

We were hungry then so we decided to have our snack in Golden Cowrie. Hahaha! Are you sure is this a snack? It was already past 3 PM so I believe that was beyond 4 PM. Of course, it is really nice to eat in a place with EXTRA RICE. hahaha!

If you're going to ask me about the prices of the food we ordered, sorry to disappoint you but I really don't know because I didn't pay for it. Hahaha! Ok, I'll just give you an estimate for at least P700 with drinks. Oops! I forgot to take a snapshot of Sinigang na Isda.

Guess how many cups of extra rice?

I never thought that Marian and Engr. Edwin would finished that early. They only ate a cup of rice and never asked again for another cup. They say they are on a diet. Instead to be sad about it, I just enjoyed the meal with all of my heart. Hahaha! Just eat and talk. After few hours, Engr. Edwin asked for another cup.

Can you guess how many cups of extra rice I had asked for? Just look at the picture and you will get a clue. Hahahah! That would be a total of 3 cups of rice for that setting.

Oh well, here I am feeling model for this blog post. My friends and I were just fooling around by the time we arrived in Caubian Island. Actually, the craziness was my whole idea and we were just laughing hard and loud while taking snapshots. Tata was the photographer and the concept was mine. Hahahaha! Jan got the idea about the beer for this calendar thing.

How to Get to Caubian Island?

This blog post is a guide on how to get to Caubian Island. I hope this could help for the people who plan to travel there.

1. If you're in Cebu City, just take a ride 01K bound for Parkmall/Cebu Doctor's University. Just drop by at Cebu Doctor's University then there are several PUJ's or multicabs that are bound for Hi-Way Mandaue.

2. At Hi-Way Mandaue, look for a PUJ that goes to Punta Engaño. Make sure to tell the driver that your destination is at Hilton Dock or hotel. Actually, the hotel is now called Moevenpick.

3. At Hilton Dock, there are people who will shout for Caubian Island. You need to pay the terminal fee and Banca or Pump Boat fee will cost you P70-P100. Since the day we went there was a peak season because of the fiesta, we paid P100.

Bonus tips:

a. Make sure you're phones are fully charged or bring extra batteries because the island does not have their own electricity although they use generator.

b. Bring drinking water for it is scarce there. In taking a bath, you can't enjoy the water like what we do in the mainland.

Happy Summer to All!

Last Friday night of February 24, 2012, Tata sent a private message about the Caubian Island trip for a reminder. I thought that it would be cancelled because she never gave us the reminder ahead of time although we already talked about this with Jan on early February. Jan almost forgot about it because she was really busy with her online job.

Tata invited us because she has relatives there and perfect timing that it was a fiesta. She went ahead of us on the 25th so Jan and I decided that we should go on the next day in order for us to finish our tasks online. I just asked Tata for the instructions on how to get to Caubian Island.

Here are some of the pictures we have:

The island at the right was our destination. It is where people are living now. This island is a small barangay and they were celebrating their festival Sto. Niño de Caubian. Tata said that most of the people living here are her relatives. The island is very small and in 20-30 minutes you can tour the whole place.

If you see this island like on the picture above, then you're almost near to Caubian island. As what I've said, a lot of people are living on the small island.

Tata was waiting for us when we arrived because I always sent her a message about our updates. I was expecting for a band to welcome us. Hahaha, just kidding! Anyway, we went straight to the house of their relatives and had our lunch there. After that, we went to the other island, the one which was on the left side. It is a private beach resort managed by a foreigner, I guess a Korean.

Too bad, we did not have the chance to tour the whole island. We just enjoyed swimming on the area where there was a sand bar.

They were drinking 1 Litro of Beer na Beer courtesy by yours truly. I don't drink so I just enjoyed watching and talking with them. I only have water with me. We were outside of the house while Tata was sound asleep. Also, the area was very noisy because in front of the house was where the disco located. After Beer na Beer, here came Boracay rhum so we just continued the drinking or tagay session at the beach while having star gazing to unwind.

In the morning, we only had few hours of sleep so Tata brought us to the seashore and we just took our pictures there.

The Caubian Island trip was a unique experience for me. I didn't bring my netbook, chargers of my cellphones and batteries because Tata told me there is no electricity in the island but they only have generators. I was away from the internet world for a day. Scarcity of water at it's finest so after swimming at the beach, four people were sharing only ONE bucket of water. For the drinking water, they have mineral water which they have to order it from the mainland Cebu.

Well, the post will not end here yet. I still have lots of things to post about the trip so watch out for it. :)
