36 down and 5 to go and I'm back at even with the Chicago DJ new music updates. Man these things should really just write themselves but sadly, that's not the case.

More homecoming 2010 music coming right here as well, it was a great fall with new music. Rihanna had 2 hits featured with "Only Girl" and "I Love the Way You Lie"at our homecomings and Flo Rida does it again with "Club Can't Handle Me", what were your favorites this homecoming season in Chicago?

October 2010 already, look out Christmas, here we come. Still playing a bit of catch up with the Chicago DJ new music updates but that's cool, it gave you time to fall in love with some new songs before I biased you, LOL!

Here is the beginning of the September updates of the Chicago DJ new music updates, hold on tight we're gonna blaze through them. This is the 36th new music update of the year with a brand new disc #41 staring me in the face, so I'm going to get right to it.

So for me and my company, we just wrapped up our homecomings for 2010 and had great shows with lots of great new music. The 2 most popular songs coming from this update were: Usher & Pitbull "DJ's got us falling in love" and Bruno Mars "Just the way you are", both were HUGE and will probably continue to be so through the rest of the year and into winter formal time also, we'll see......

2010 New Chicago DJ Music Update, Week 35 of 52

It's homecoming season here in Chicagoland and that means football games, bonfires, clothes shopping and oh yeah, DANCES!!!!

Just in time for this year's homecoming rush is a whole slew of new music just begging to be played at the dances. Our first homecoming of the year is this weekend and I can't wait to see what makes the cut and gets requested, we'll see.

This Chicago DJ new music update is particularly cool as I actually know, well I know his sister Tamara, an artist with his first song on our update, Kyle Andrews. You may recognize the song from the Holiday Inn commercials, "You Always Make Me Smile" it's a catchy tune! We DJ'd his sister's wedding earlier this year and Kyle was in attendance and we used this song as the first open dance song of the night, it was a smashing success! Kyle is very nice and gracious and I hope he goes a loong way in this biz! Congrats Kyle!

Here it is, the highly anticipated, the reason for all the fuss, it's our 100th blog post and you wouldn't have even known it if we didn't tell you or post it on facebook, LOL! Yep, it's true, we've rambled on for 100 posts and can you believe it, not a single morning show wanted to cover the celebratory event? WOW!

OK, so it's our 100th blog post big deal, it's pretty easy to get to 100 since every week I get a brand new CD filled with new tunes and all I have to do is tell you about it and copy and paste. Well, let's pretend it's a bit more complex than that, this way I can easily justify always being behind in the updates, LOL!

This is the FINAL POST....

before we hit our 100th blog post, LOL!

We have 30 Chicago DJ new music updates in the book and 22 left, man where has the year gone? Did your parents ever tell you to slow down and enjoy being a kid because you'll be grown up soon enough and the years would go by faster? Well mine did and I absolutely thought they were nuts. I couldn't wait to turn 16 and drive, now I don't drive unless I have to. I couldn't wait to make my own money, now I just have to pay taxes. I couldn't wait to get a girlfriend, well you get the point.....

Summer's wrapping up and school is just around the corner and before you know it, I'll have my truck in 4WD just to get in and out of my driveway wondering when summer's coming, LOL!

Post #99 brings us the 32nd Chicago DJ new music update and 55 brand new songs with nearly 200 minutes of great new ear candy!

So I wonder what life will be like after the 100th post.... If this blog were a sitcom or TV series, there would be huge acknowledgement and probably a pay raise followed by a long break in filming to enjoy the success. If the post number were in correlation with age, more than likely we'd be on Good Morning America and getting asked questions about our experiences leading up to 100. If this post were a speedometer, well, we'd be in Kendall County court trying to get our fine reduced but since this is a little ol' blog staring down the barrel of it's 100th post, with millions of other blogs reaching into the thousands, we'll probably just quietly celebrate our 100th and move on to 101!

2010 New Chicago DJ Music Update, Week 31 of 52

August is here and it feels like late September but I'm still working on the Chicago DJ new music updates from July, WOW, it's hard to keep track of what day it is, thank goodness for Outlook ;)

So this is the last July 2010 update here with the 31st Chicago DJ new music update and it's a big one. Some of you may recall, every other week we get the hottest Latin hits added to our disc, which comes in very handy but also pumps our weekly update up to 75+ songs, you have to like that!

As I said in the opener, it's August and that means football, SWEET! Your favorite Chicago DJ will be back again as the official DJ of the Party Deck at Soldier Field, 7 years running. OK, OK, OK, back to the music. You know someday I'm going to get ambitious and actually make posts about other things, but for now, it's all about the music.... WOW, more hot new homecoming music for your favorite Chicago DJ as we near homecoming season...

Homecoming season is close, and feels like it is here with this beautiful fall like weather but before we get to any homecomings we'll have to celebrate another event first, our 100th post! In just 4 blog posts after this Chicago DJ new music update we'll be making our 100th blog post, WOW!

Ok, so enough of that, let's talk music, new radio music especially! This is the 29th installment of the Chicago DJ new music update for 2010 and that means 1. I'm still behind as I'm looking at the most recent disc and it's #33 but 2. we're well past the half way point of 2010, hmmm..

On a personal note I think one of my all time favorite songs has made it's way onto this update, Boys of Summer by Kenny Chesney! It's August, football practice has started and now it feels like football weather and I can't help but reminisce of those days in high school and college as we began practice and looked forward to the games and the wins! I LOVE fall!

Back with a brand new music update, well new as in from June but what can I say, it's been a busy summer. The good news is you can now see more information about those great songs you've been hearing on the radio for the past month, LOL!

So here's the deal, it's gorgeous outside and I'm behind on this blog AND other stuff so let's dispense with the chatter and get right down to the new music from back in June 2010, ok? Alright.

This is the 26th installment of the Chicago DJ new music update for 2010 and the final update from June and it's a pretty good one at that. This update has a good number of songs, 63 to be exact and totals 234 minutes of great new music.... The best thing about being behind is when I make a prediction of what's going to be hot on these updates, I've had the benefit of making a really educated guess as the songs have been on the radio for a few weeks ;) So this update's hottest song has to be from the Zac Brown Band - Free, that song shot up the charts and really is one of my favorites this summer....

This update is for the 3rd week of June which means right now we're hearing a few of these on our radios as we head out to see what summer in Chicago has to offer!

New Chicago DJ music update number 24 is coming your way right now! Kind of sounds like something you'd hear on the news or Ryan Seacrest hyping something up on American Idol or on his radio show. Anyway, really the 24th new music update is here!

This update leaves me with only the current new music update to be all caught up, YIPPIE!

2010 New Chicago DJ Music Update, Week 23 of 52

Big Chicago DJ new music update for the first week in June coming right up!

So I'm closing in on getting caught up, at least I'm updating you with songs from the current month, right? Well this one has a packed list and will surely have something for you to start lovin'.

So each month this Chicago DJ gets, somewhere in the ballpark of, 250 brand news songs which certainly leads to my master library growing faster than our national debt and that's certainly not a bad thing but consider this; if I were to open my iTunes and start playing every song in my library right now, it wouldn't repeat a song until sometime August 13th or 14th and that's not factoring in the 300+ new songs I'll add in the mean time. WOW!

So where am I going with this, I'm really not sure but I think I can make a point out of all of this, let's see. So take a wedding for example, they typically span 6 hours here in Chicagoland, which seems like a long time, but here's a funny stat; My current library could cover 200 of those very same weddings WITHOUT ever repeating a song. Now don't sweat it because I'm not going to do that to you but, I think I've actually arrived at a valid point. Through the course of a wedding, I'll play around 85 songs with the majority of them being the same songs requested at most every event I do, so here's my conclusion/point. Is the size of the music library of your DJ important as long as it containes the right songs? For the most part it ISN'T important as long as the smaller library is chocked full of the hits. Now the real benefit to adding nearly 300 new songs per month, you never know when you'll get that request for an relatively unknown song and you have it and try it and BAM! it rocks the dance floor, that's the apex of quantity colliding with quality.

Yep, I'm still behind a few updates but that's ok, it gives me something else to talk about. This Chicago DJ new music update will wrap up May 2010 for us and get me into the current month, you gotta love that!

Speaking of the word "gotta", have you been to an event yet this year that you haven't heard "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas? It was/is certainly a catchy song and it's popularity ripped through events like a wildfire but holy cow, I can't remember the last event where I DIDN'T get a request for it. As if the BEP's weren't rich enough, they could certainly retire on this song's popularity as I'm sure we're going to hear it for a long, long, long, long time. To illustrate my point I have 3 words, "Baby Got Back", 'nuf said.

What do you say to getting to the new"ish" music in your Chicago DJ's music library as of May 28th 2010? I thought you'd like that. This week's new music update brings us 49 new songs, well actually 47 I believe, with 2 having additional versions but still, 47's a pretty decent update. WOW! It's been nearly a month since I've posted a new blog article, hmmm, funny how time flies. Speaking of flying, hang on to your hat because I have 5 new music updates to get to you and a few other great articles about planning your event, so let's get started...

Summer is officially here and you can feel it in both temperature and the hustle and bustle of life during summer in Chicago! I am fresh off 9 events in 16 days with over a dozen events this month alone, business has been good and busy. Week 19 of the Chicago DJ new music update, 2010 is over 1/3 of the way in the bag, WOW!

So summer's here and it's party season... Every type of party known to man is happening, everything from weddings, beach parties, graduation parties, reunions, proms, block parties, car shows etc... How many of these events will you be attending through the summer???? I bet you're hoping for a really good DJ at all of them right? Yeah I know...

Part of being a good DJ is having really GOOD music and more importantly, knowing WHEN to play that good music.... So right here I'm going to share 1 part of that receipe, good new music....

It's that time again, yep time to play catch up with the Chicago DJ new music updates....

The busy season is upon us and keeping up is a game within a game but that's ok. Here we are just a few days away from June and almost 1/2 way through 2010 and I find myself behind by 4 weeks of new music updates...

Before I get to the newest music in my hands, well new-ish, I must say it feels a little weird that last night was the first time in years I haven't watched the American Idol finale, nor did I shed a tear for the departing Simon Cowell, interesting. Not too long ago our DVR only had the ability to record and watch the same channel and my wife and I had become very interested in the Biggest Loser this year and we had to make a choice, so goodbye A.I. and hello Biggest Loser.... WOW am I glad we made that decision but more on that at a later time.

Here it is, the 17th Chicago DJ new music update, just for you.... I know you were reeling with anticipation wondering "where's the update for this week" right? Yeah, I knew it ;) Well for the person who may have been actually looking forward to it, here it is....

WOW, so May is knocking at the door and we just passed the 2 month mark until the "Race to Taste" kick off for the 2010 Taste of Chicago, can you believe it? It's that time again, new Chicago music hittin' the scene. Summer's almost here in the windy city of Chicago and that means lots of parties and events to be layin' down some brand new music..

If you love Chicago sports you have to be loving Chicago this time of year with Baseball, Basketball and Hockey in full swing and NASCAR and Golf goming later this summer, WOO-HOO! Brand new music for April 2010 right here for you! Your favorite Chicago DJ has a whole new batch of hot new songs for you to check out in this new music update.

New music added to my library, the sun's out, baseball games and events are starting to ramp up and before you know it, we'll be asking "what happened to spring?" LOL!

So let's get back to the music.... I am wondering how many of you carry a smart phone like an iPhone, Blackberry, Blackjack etc... Us with the 3G or older, well, we won't :( Ah well, I'm used to it so whatever I guess..... OK, done with the PSA rant, LOL!

Hot new tunes from Flo-Rida, what do you think? Will it be a smash hit? Flo-Rida hit it big with all age groups with Low otherwise known as "Apple Bottom Jeans" lol. Nobody every seems to know the actual name of the song so they typically request it as "you know that song, apple bottom jeans...."

Flo-Rida, along with others has made it a bit easier to play more dance oriented music at events with their high tempo hip hop songs which has been a great thing. Some of his other noteable tunes are "Low", "Right Round", "In the Ayer", "Sugar" and now this "Zoosk Girl" what do you think, will this be a huge Prom hit?
