I love this time of year! Everyone is wrapping up their websites and getting them launched before the holiday selling season. I have two sites that went live this past week, I’ll share one with you today :o

It’s Sew Wright is a monogramming and gift boutique with a retail store in Greenville, North Carolina. They have a great selection of baby gifts, birthday presents and stocking stuffers. I especially love all their Scout products – all the colorful totes and storage bins, I’m in heaven!

We started working together back when we were both selling on eBay, which seems like a lifetime ago. She decided she wanted to give her site a more subtle, upscale feel…. new logo, new graphics, new layout, new high-key product images… and voila, mission accomplished! After each 2-week design project, I will have 1 week scheduled for smaller projects from existing customers. As my customer base has grown over the years, I find myself doing more work with my existing customers… site makeovers, blog add-ons, product photography, etc.  I’ve been having a hard time squeezing that in amongst my new customer projects which typically run back to back, so I’ve decided to re-do the way I schedule so that I have time for everyone! Nothing earth shattering, but it should help me manage my workflow better.

My poor neglected blog! I’m so sorry about the lack of posts lately. I have tons of great stuff to share, just no time to blog about it! Summer has been really busy for us so I haven’t been able to work as many hours. I’m really looking forward to school starting in 3 weeks so that things slow down a bit and we settle back into a routine.

This brought me lots of LOLs last night. Normally I wouldn’t call someone out on something minor like this, but the fact is that I’ve had problems with this company in the past. Some people never learn. It’s one thing to be inspired by someone else’s work; it’s another thing to copy it. Copying is not cool!

Update (7/15/09):  Apparently I’m not the only one having trouble with Fritzer Designs. Check out Lisa’s blog, A House Full of Moxie, to read about her experience with this so-called web designer. She makes a very good point – if a designer (and I use that term loosely) will copy another person’s work and use it for her own website, how can you be sure the site she designs for you doesn’t contain elements (graphics, HTML, CSS, etc.) taken from someone else. She could be putting your business and your reputation at risk. Please do your homework before choosing a web designer – make sure he or she is reputable, experienced and trustworthy.
