Verizon Wireless has launched a new teaser site for the upcoming Droid X by Motorola.  The popular Droid Does campaign features some of the best selling Android phones on the market.  At this point we don’t have a confirmed release date but early rumors are pointing to July 19th.  As for the Droid X it’s loaded with a 4.3 inch display, HDMI output (see the HTC EVO 4G) and it’s built to capture 720P video.  When released it will be one of the largest Android phones to date and we have no problems with that.  If your looking for a hands-on preview of the Droid X head over to Engadget.  Oh and try not to drool after you see the video and check out the pics.

T-Mobile has officially released the Android powered Garminfone.  This is the first Android smartphone that can also act as a Garmin GPS device.  The Garminfone is all about navigation and it’s packed with some great features.

The 2010 World Cup starts this Friday June 11th and soccer fans all over the world are already putting on their face paint.  If you can’t make it to South Africa to watch the real thing have no fear.  Sprint users will be able to watch live games right from the newly released HTC EVO 4G.  Sprint has teamed up with ESPN to offer soccer fans an easy way to catch the games while on the go.

Sirius XM has officially released its Android application.  We first told you about this app back in April and at the time we didn’t know which devices it would be compatible with.  We are happy to report that the Sirus XM Android application will work on the Motorola Droid, Droid Incredible by HTC, Droid Eris, HTC Hero, T-Mobile G1, Motorola CLIQ, and the Google Nexus One.  The application is free to download and offers you a free 7-day trial to experience Sirius XM Premium online services.

The Sirius XM Radio Android app comes with a lot of great features.  Users can easily navigate through an extensive channel lineup and see what’s playing on each channel via the “lookaround’ feature.  There are over 120 channels to listen to and the built-in favorites tab lets users bookmark their top stations for easy access.  This app is not yet available in the Android Market but you can download it by visiting http://www.siriusxm.com/android.

Nexus One owners have received an extra special treat in the form of Android 2.2 AKA Froyo.  The update which was supposed to be coming to the Nexus One in the next few weeks has already arrived.  Several Nexus One owners received the OTA update late Saturday night which means the rollout process has begun.

Well it took awhile but Amazon is set to release Kindle for Android phones.  The app doesn’t have a release date yet but many think it will be available in a matter of weeks.  As expected Kindle for Android will be similar to the applications you see on the iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry.  It will have more than 500,000 books and will include Whispersync technology so you can pick up where you left off on any device.  Other features include:

• Get the best reading experience available on your Android phone. No Kindle required
• Access your Kindle books even if you don’t have your Kindle with you
• Adjust the text size, add bookmarks, and view the annotations you created on your Kindle, computer, or other Kindle-compatible device
• Read in portrait or landscape mode

Get ready racing fans Need for Speed Shift is on its way to the Android.  The popular 3D game is set to release on June 4th, the same day as the Sprint HTC Evo 4G.  It’s clear that EA wants to show how impressive it will look on the Evo 4G especially when you hook it up to your HDTV using the HDMI jack.  The game has been a huge hit for the iPhone and many expect it to be just as good if not better running on the Android.

Sprint users rejoice because you’ll be able to grab the HTC EVO 4G on June 4th.  An official release date was announced by Sprint along with the price point of $199 after $100 mail-in-rebate.  The HTC EVO 4G has been a hot topic in the Android community because of its 4G capabilities and two built-in cameras.  It will also feature an HDTV out function that lets you upload videos to your HDTV.  Other features include a handy kickstand for easy video viewing, Adobe Flash support and a high powered 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
