I used the beautiful new Old Tea Rose stamp set for this card. I first stamped my image on a piece of printer paper and fussy cut all along the image to make a mask. I then stamped my rose again on my Flourishes Classic White cardstock then put the mask on top and stamped the script background from Sweet Nature, then I pulled the mask off and colored my rose. I took my Tim Holtz distress inks and smeared the pads on my craft mat and added some water with a paint brush and flicked it all over my image.

Girlfriends Make the Best Accessories

Hello Flourishes Fans! We have a special treat for you today because we are kicking off the festivities for Day 1 of our Flourishes‘ Sneak Peeks for May and we have teamed up with the Friends of Flourishes Team to play along with the Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week. Want a little peek at the set we’ll be showcasing today?

I decided to decorate the inside of my card again. The front didn't leave much room for it there.

If you look very close, you can see the black rhinestone accents on the right side of my image. I also added a slight glitter accent to the veil but it didn't show up very well in the photo.

Our Glamour Girls stamp collection, illustrated by Lauren Pope, is a fabulous collection of lovely ladies and some classic "girl talk" sentiments perfect for all those charming gals in your life. This classy stamp set arrives just in time for Mother's Day! What more can you ask for?

It is that time of the month again. Flourishes May release will be here in a few days and we have a challenge for you. Below is a beautiful color graphic, all you need to do is choose 3 colors. This one was pretty hard for me to find papers to match exactly. I just tried to have the same kind of color combination.

I decided to add a pretty floral image stamped to the inside since the front was pretty plain. This one is nice and flat, which is great for shipping.

I am back again with a card I made over the weekend using Flourishes Summer Blossoms. I love the rainbow look that I ended up with. It kinda reminds me of rainbow sherbet.

I couldn't decide which color looked best with the pretty papers so I decided to use all 3. If you come here often you know I usually stick with my usual natural and white cardstock for my card and base. I felt like some color was in order on this one. I love the bright colors!

MFT Thank You

Hello again! I had some time to get in my craft room this afternoon and play along with the newest MFT Wednesday Stamp Club. I ordered these cute new LJD Sweet Roses stamp set and matching die-namics dies. I made sure to order them on release night. I made a HUGE mistake and didn't order the Poppies last month and they are still on back order. I hate it when I do that!

As you can see, I die cut the flowers in patterned paper then stamped the outline image on top. Do you like the die tab with the sentiment stamped on it? Funny how that happened. I originally stamped it directly onto the graph patterned paper BUT, it was crooked. So instead of ripping it off I covered up my boo boo with a band aid. I actually like how it looks this way better. The paper I used is from Echo Park called Sweet Girl.

Welcome to the NinaB Designs Blog Hop! The theme of this month's hop is Stamping Techniques. Nina challenged the team to do a technique, which could be as simple as coloring, die-cutting or more involved like emboss resist, making your own embellishments, etc.

For my card I used the beautiful set from The Craft's Meow called Flower Garden. With different flower head and leaf choices this set has so many possibilities. I stamped my flowers and stems with two shades of ink color to give it that little extra affect. The cute little tag is from Love Dwells Here stamp set and matching dies. The border die is one of Nina's designs called Classic Petal.

First, I want to say thank you for all the sweet comments that everyone has left on my blog the last couple days. I am glad you have enjoyed the new release. Ahhhh..... summer will be here before we know it and... that means longer days, hotter nights, sitting under the stars and soaking up the nice weather. We know the grass is just starting to green up and spring flowers haven't even really begun to see their full glory -- but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate those warmer days ahead! We're getting in the spirit of outdoor fun now and if you play along with us, you could win Flourishes' entire April release!

I colored these pretty Zinnias and did a lot of fussy cutting around the edges and glued them to some patterned paper. I then took my C1 Copic marker and went around the edges of the image to try and give it some shadows.

I needed a masculine birthday card again. I am NOT good at these. It kills me not to use pink! Is it as hard for you as it is for me? I have to say that I instantly reached for my new Blueprints die-namics dies to create this card. I can't wait to see the next sets in the series, I assume that there will be more since this one is labeled #1.

I have been so lucky to have not been sick since last winter. My luck has run out...I feel a head cold coming on. I have had some sinus drainage the last couple days and the sneezing started later this afternoon. I sure hope that it doesn't stick around long, I don't want to be sick for Easter.

It is finally spring! Although it feels nothing like it here in Iowa. I made this pretty Tulip card for the Free For All Friday at Flourishes. There is also a great challenge going on called Bring on Spring that I will be entering this into as well on the Flourishes blog.

Have you seen the cute little groundhog photos on FB saying how Phil lied about spring? He was sooo wrong this year! Last year during the month of March we had 60 degree weather, this year it is still in the 30's with possible snow this weekend. Heck, it is supposed to snow on Friday at my dad's house in Alabama! I did spot some pretty purple and yellow Crocus flowers popping out of the ground on my walk late this afternoon. I guess one good plus is that it wasn't too cold to walk as long as I was facing the sun.

How is your week going so far? I am on spring break and my time off seems to be flying by. I feel like I never get the thing done that I want to get done. I did have some time yesterday in my craft room to make this cutie patootie. Do you ever make a card and just love it? I often do, but after I was finished with this one I felt like she looked kinda washed out or the card needed something else. I must have at least 50 of the 6x6 paper packs and none of them were jumping out saying "use me"! It took longer to choose the paper than it did for me to make the entire card. Really?! So this sentiment was very fitting. :)

I used the newest MFTWSC sketch for my design. The new blueprint die-namics set has a cute little stitched circle die that fit perfectly inside the mini doily circles for my sentiment.

Make a Wish

Hello again! I am back to share a birthday card that I made for my brother's birthday today. I used the newest MFTWSC sketch and the cute Theresa Collins 6x6 paper pack with the cutest masculine papers. Mustaches are all over the place right now and my little brother has some facial hair of his own. I hope he likes what I made for him.

I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink then sprinkled some white embossing powder on top. I like the faux ribbon look from the Blueprint die instead of ribbon for this masculine card. That is also a button die and not a real button. I have learned from experience that real buttons add a lot of depth to your cards and can make shipping costly. I added the photo corners to the sentiment because it looked pretty darn plain without them. ;)

Party Time

Well, hello there! I am excited that it is spring break time! That means I get a lot more crafty time, and blog visiting time. I have been kinda absent lately, concentrating on getting myself healthy again. If you visit me often, you will remember me talking about my back problems. I decided not to do anything crazy like, Cortizone shots into my nerves and all the other things that were tossed into the air. About 2 months ago, I went to my Chiropractor and had an adjustment. Instantly, I felt better and took that opportunity to get my butt back to the gym to lose the 30 lbs that I gained from all the oral steroids. Being a Vegan, there wasn't anything diet wise that I could do to lose the weight. Within the 2 months that I have been working out 5 days a week doing cardio and weights, I have dropped almost 20 lbs! I can't be more excited!! I have bigger goals than the 30 lbs, now I would be super happy to lose another 20 lbs more. I am concentrating on strengthening my core and back muscles for better support and I am pleased to say that I have not had my back hurt once since I have been working out! Yeah me! :)

So, on to this DARLING little girl. I ordered this Doodle Garden Party Time girl with my last MFT release purchase, along with these FABULOUS new Blueprint die-namics dies. I can tell you this, if you are a beginning cardmaker or just short on time and need something quick, this is for you! I LOVED how easy this card was to make using all the neat dies in the set, I can't wait for more of these to come out. The possibilities are endless!
