This week I give my takes on the strange phenomenon of black people, black men especially having this para-social relationship with wealthy black men who are brought up on various allegations, I speak to how we should react to these occurrences and speaking to the quiet part being said out loud, Diddy, Bill Cosby, R.Kelly, Russell Simmons, etc. do not need the protection of the black community because they weren't thinking about the black community when they caused harm.

This was inspired by a debriefing conversation with my best friend Emily when her therapist suggested she write down her flags and allow that to guide her discernment when dating. I suggest the same to the listeners in this episode giving examples of each flag and why this is an effective method of healthy dating if you stand your ground on those red flags you should find your "lil baby that's gonna listen" quicker than you know it.

In this episode I break down the importance of setting boundaries early especially in romantic connections. Being able to self-advocate within friendships, relationships, or with your immediate family is truly a practice of protecting your peace and agency. I talk about if boundaries can conflict what you could do as well as the key point in setting boundaries is you have to communicate and assert those boundaries once you become aware.

This week I have a return guest that was featured on episode titled Khloe's Fro, Go check out that episode as well. She returned to update me on the status of the book since she did release right before the pandemic shook the world. In that time she was able to reassess how she wanted the book to be consumed and the range of audience that could receiver her message. My Beautiful Black Hair seems to be a substantial narrative of black women and their relationship with their hair. We discussed the process she went through to get an agent and an editor, men staying out of women's hair business, and how this rendition is still at the core a dedication to her sister Khloe and all Black women and girls of the world.
