i apologize for being extremely blog negligent these days. there seems to be a lack of free time in my daily life, making fun fashion posts low on the totem pole of priorities. i hope to get back to work, back in the game of deals and fabulous finds!

big plans?

2010-08-23T14:20:00.000-07:00

okay, so i had some really big plans for the blog this summer. daily posts, lots of "i can find it cheaper" ideas, and on & on. i don't even have an exciting excuse (international travel, relocating for a new job, etc.), just the simple fact that while the summer is filled with "time" it's also filled with kids at home. all the time. at home.
so stay tuned because i have been banking all my ideas and can't wait to share! one of my latest finds...it might make some of you sick who bought these beauties full price. last fall/winter, elizabeth & james had these AMAZING boots that i fell in love with. they retailed for just under $400. this fall, steve madden went ahead and completely copied them (love it when they do that). you can find them at nordstrom, zappos or steve madden.

2010-07-24T21:17:00.000-07:00

i have searched high & low for the ultimate skinny jean. one that is flattering to all (including those of us who aren't perfectly long and lean). one that is not over $100. one that you can wear winter, spring, summer or fall. i think i may have found it. the 'always skinny jean' from GAP. it fit all my criteria and then some. they are comfortable, slimming, flattering, priced for all and easily found online or in retail stores.

wear 'em with a tank top or tee shirt in the summer and pair it with flip flops.

or wear 'em with a dressier top and sandals.

and always feel free to pair 'em heels and a blazer

outfit time.

2010-07-07T13:07:00.000-07:00

here's an idea for an outfit that can take you from the park with the kids to running errands to a casual dinner and a movie for date night.

top options:

this dolman top from gap is $19.50. it is casual & comfortable, but has a sophisticated cut that makes it interesting. i like the green, dark blue or cream.

this henley from urban outfitters is $54. casual sophistication. i like the green, cream or dark blue.

these cropped skinny jeans from gap are flattering on all body types. if you read the reviews there are women of all shapes and sizes raving about them. if you are under 5' 5" or so get the cropped, if you are taller get the regular always skinny jeans.

these cut-off bermudas are on sale for $29 at gap.

for shoes, any great basic sandal will do. a wedge works too!

you can find both of these at urban outfitters. above. below.
