Summer 2021

2021-08-31T17:07:00.002+03:00

In some parts of the world, the end of August marks the end of summer. And this summer was full of new songs. And great ones, too. So let's summarize the season and remember some of the best songs of this summer.

GIRLFRIEND by ADAM TURLEY. This was one of many good songs that were included in Adam's album that was released in July.

SOMEHOW by PARKER PRATT. One of the last songs of this summer, this one is magical. In general, if a song gives you chills, then it means that magic does exist. Well, like this song. Parker also released TALKING TO MYSELF with DALLIN MCKAY. This one is good too. Check both of these songs out.

WITHOUT U by THE BECOMING, SIDNEY COPE. Despite its theme, this song is one of those that you want to take with you. Perfect for shorter and longer trips.

THERE'S STILL TIME by ALLRED. Actually, ALLRED released a few songs this summer, and all of them are equally good, so listen to this one and others as well.

MORE TO THE STORY by KRISTINA NICHOL. This song was released early in the summer. One of the best things about it is its production quality. High quality, that is.

COMING BACK by BECOMING YOUNG. BECOMING YOUNG also released a few songs, but this one is perfect for those sunny days.

IF IT'S A GOOD THING by COLTON VENNER. A bit different from the rest, but it does sound good.

BUTTERFLY by EMILY WEISBAND, KAREN FAIRCHILD. This one is for those lazy days when you don't have to rush anywhere.

GONE GONE GONE by GREG DUFFY. Some songs are sad, but you can still enjoy them. Like this one.

I FEEL GOOD by JASON LOCRICCHIO, SLAKE DRANSKY. Another song about good things. Because there can't be too much optimism.

IT'S OKAY IF YOU DON'T by HANNAH TRAGER, STRUAN. Again, chills = magic. It's okay if you feel something.

GUCCI DENIM by BYRNE. A feel-good song. So feel free and listen to it.

BEST IS YET TO COME by KYLE REYNOLDS, GRYFFIN. If hits differently if you know that a song has a message to tell. And this one has. Good for those moments when you need some cheering up. Or if you want to have a song stuck in your head.

IDMY by NIA HENDRICKS. Another song with a message. And it's a well-written song.

WOULD YOU STILL WANT ME by MOKITA. This song reminds you that life can be complicated, but music can help.

TOMORROW by FLY BY MIDNIGHT. This productive duo released some very good songs this summer, but this one has a perfect chorus.

THAT FEELING by STRUAN. One good thing about this song is its production quality. Another good thing is that it gives you chills. That's all you need.

ABOUT YOU by LVRBOY. Some things, people or places may not be pleasant, but if it materializes and becomes a song, that's a good thing. Something to enjoy alone or with others.

A MILLION PRETTY PIECES by NIGHTLY, FLEURIE. Sometimes you don't need a lot of instruments to make perfect songs. And sometimes you just need this song.

It's quite difficult so summarize three months because you may forget something.

Hopefully, you'll find something that you like.

You may find these songs on your favorite streaming platform.

Song of the Day #18: Can We Be Friends | STRUAN

2021-05-06T22:52:00.001+03:00

You should become friends with STRUAN'S new song.

CAN WE BE FRIENDS by STRUAN

SimplyTunes is back and so is STRUAN with his new song. CAN WE BE FRIENDS is a bit different and at the same time it's still the same STRUAN with his honest music.

It sounds like a nice mix of two of his previous songs. It's a pop ballad like DISTANCE, and a pop/rock anthem like WANT YOU BACK NOW. It might also remind you of the 2000s and bring back some memories. This song is of high quality (co-produced by STRUAN himself), and it's one of those songs that you want to listen to again, and again, and again... Maybe even for 4 hours straight. Or more. If you think that it's not for you, then you need to shape your taste. Your taste is not a huge stone that can't be moved. It can change and be shaped.

Like any song, you can test it and see whether it is really good. Listen to it in your car and roll the windows down. It's been proven (the number of participants in this test is not relevant here) to give you chills.

So again, listen to this song and imagine the following situation. It's 9.30pm, the sun is almost down. You're in your car, listening to CAN WE BE FRIENDS. Maximum volume. Windows down. You're passing two people by who stare at your car. They will probably never know what that was. But at least they will have heard a few seconds of this wonderful song.

Song of the Day #17: hurt someone | LVRBOY

2021-04-01T17:20:00.001+03:00

People hurt; music shouldn't.

HURT SOMEONE by LVRBOY

This week, LVRBOY released another pop song about people who hurt other people. That would be the summary of the song. But don't skip it just because of its title. It is written by LVRBOY and STRUAN.

At first, it may seem like another sad pop song, but it doesn't sound like one. It's quite upbeat and romantic (or dreamy, or sappy) at the same time. It's under three minutes and it ends quite fast so you won't fall asleep. Instead, you may want to listen to the song again and again.

One of the reasons why it's rather addictive is the guitar part. That same pattern is played over and over again and it sounds really nice and is also a fine addition to the song. And the song itself is a LVRBOY song. If you like it, you like it. And if you do, just stream it.

Song of the Day #16: State of the Heart | Patrick Droney

2021-03-26T21:35:00.001+02:00

This is a masterpiece.

STATE OF THE HEART by PATRICK DRONEY

Today, Patrick Droney released the title track off his upcoming debut album (which comes out May 21). And this song is special. It's special to Patrick and it should be special to his fans. It sounds so good from the very beginning and it doesn't lose momentum till the very end.

This song is magical. It is capable of giving chills when you first hear it, and it still gives you chills after you listen to it ten or twenty times. It's just one of those songs that need to be played on and on.

This March marks one year since I discovered Patrick's music. And he's one of those artists that people need to know about. His attitude towards music is something to admire. I think that if artists focused on making music that makes people feel something or think of something/someone, instead of making unexceptional music to make money, there would be more music that is inspiring. That is what Patrick does, he inspires and makes inspiring music. Not feeling inspired? Try watching the video below. It really completes the song.

And always enjoy music that you think is made for you, for your heart or for your soul. Always.

Song of the Day #15: T-Minus | Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

2021-03-19T14:05:00.001+02:00

Ten, nine, eight...

T-MINUS by JASON LOCRICCHIO, JOEY BRODNAX, REALFICTION

This was a nice ride. Five different songs within three months. At over four minutes, this is the longest song off their debut EP. A fresh and original project. Five equally good songs. It would be difficult to single out one song as the best one. Since all the songs are out now, listen to them all. Ok, let's not make this an obituary.

The last song from the EP is different and similar at the same time. It's about the same characters and it has an unconventional structure. It may not be everyone's cup of tea or coffee, but if you listen to this song more than once, it may grow on you. Also, listen closely and try to notice some links to their previous songs. And something to think about. Is this really the end of the story? Does it raise more questions? Or does it give you more answers?

There's been a lot of new music from indie artists lately. Since this is what I've been listening to most of the time for the past year, it seems that indie artists are the future of music. At least that's what I think because I see artists who say that their latest music is the best they've ever made and who evolve and are creative and original. Who needs talent shows where young people do covers? Originality should be the new norm. And this is a very good example of that.

It's just the beginning of the year, but I guess that this year is going to be good in terms of music.

So enjoy this song and support your favorite indie artists. Stream it and share it.

Song of the Day #14: Want You Back Now | STRUAN

2021-03-17T13:11:00.001+02:00

Let's get some fresh air.

WANT YOU BACK NOW by STRUAN

It's been a few months since STRUAN released something new. And now, he comes back with a well-produced pop/rock song. Written by STRUAN and LVRBOY, this is another addictive tune that deserves to be added to your playslists.

It has a catchy melody and should be played anywhere. In your car. In your room. During your morning run. During your late-night drive/walk. You name it. If music is good, it sounds well no matter where or when you play it. You just need to play it. Stream it. Enjoy it. Just imagine a warm, sunny day and this song coming out of your speakers. That's all you need.

These days, when live shows in many countries are not possible, try listening to music on your phone and use the equalizer function. If it's possible, choose the large area setting (or something like that) to create the reverb effect, and you may feel like you're in a big arena. If you want, close your eyes (if it's safe to do so). Sure, it's not the same as going to live shows, but it's better than nothing. Do that with this song and you won't regret it.

Song of the Day #13: Psychopath | Emily Weisband

2021-03-12T12:29:00.000+02:00

Feeling something means being human.

PSYCHOPATH by EMILY WEISBAND

If you like music that is emotional, this one is for you. The new single from EMILY WEISBAND is not just a song. It has a message, Emily's voice is perfect and, eventually, it will get stuck in your head. A few weeks ago, she released NEW SALT, and now, please enjoy another good song with lyrics that mean something.

I like stories. Songs have stories, too. There are stories about what inspired artists to write particular songs, and there are stories within the songs. And you may also interpret any song the way you want it and get another story. This song also has a story and Emily shared it in an Instagram post. If you're interested, check it out.

The song also contains the name of her upcoming EP, and it may suggest the whole theme of the EP. Listen to the song and try to find one phrase that would be a good title. And listen to this song more than five times. Way more than that. Instead of listening to music by [insert any popular artist], listen to Emily's song and enjoy it. It's worth it. And wathing the video below is a must.

Song of the Day #12: Sign | Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

2021-03-05T14:09:00.000+02:00

To make something close to perfection, you do not need many things.

SIGN by JASON LOCRICCHIO, JOEY BRODNAX, REALFICTION

The fourth song by Jason and Joey's REALFICTION is nothing like the first three. It sounds like a lullaby and thus it is perfect for the night. But don't fall asleep when you listen to it. To get the most out of it, you should listen in stereo. It can even be your headphones. I've noticed that you can miss a lot of things if you listen to music using wrong devices. In music, there's mixing and mastering. And the efforts of people wo do that need to be appreciated. Also, the environment in which you are adds (or takes away) a lot too.

At first, it might sound like a simple song. There aren't many instruments. But what this song has is a really great melody. And that is often the most important element of any song. A simple song that is produced well can become extraordinary. And if you add two good voices, you have a song that can give you chills after you listen to it for the first time. And then the second time, third, fourth... Music is magic and finding that magic is not difficult. The keyword here is the word "indie". There's a lot of magic in indie music. And there's a lot of great artists.

Every song in this project tells a story. I think all of this is one longer story that consists of several parts. It's just a guess but I think there's a (not so obvious) connection among these songs. Also, pay attention to the ending because it may make you think about something. What? It depends on you, but if music makes you think, it is a good sign.

Song of the Day #11: Oliver Adderall | Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

2021-02-19T15:34:00.001+02:00

Music cannot solve all the problems in the world, but the world is better with music.

OLIVER ADDERAL by JASON LOCRICCHIO, JOEY BRODNAX, REALFICTION

Friday means new music. And this time it's another song from Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax and their project, REALFICTION. This time, there are two sides to it. First, there's the musical side, that is, melody, lyrics, the whole arrangement of the song, etc. Second, there is the content of the song.

I'll start with the second part. Like their first two songs, this one contains a story. And that story has something to do with issues that some people have. This blog is about music so I won't go into much detail.

Now, regarding the musical part. There is also a video (see below) but I can easily imagine this song played in a movie. Picture this. An action movie. A montage of a person driving in a car after commiting a crime. Or something like that. No talking. Just this song. A perfect soundtrack. There is something in this song (probably its arrangement) that makes it easy to imagine such a scene in a movie. And the song grows on you after a few listens. And that's, perhaps, everything that needs to be said. Just a nice song for a nice ride. And you should also watch the video to get the whole idea of the song.

The only thing you need to take with you is music.

Song of the Day #10: Yours in the Morning | Patrick Droney

2021-02-12T14:33:00.001+02:00

Good music sounds as good in the morning as it does at night.

YOURS IN THE MORNING by PATRICK DRONEY

After releasing his latest EP late last year, Patrick comes back with a new song. Actually, he's been performing this song at his shows for a while, and it is now out everywhere. And his fans should not be disappointed.

I think that you can't know what good music is. You can't understand good music either. You have to feel it. And if you feel something when you listen to music, that is a good thing. It's even better if you're enjoying that. And this song by Patrick is one of those songs that may cause a reaction. You may smile, you may get chills. It doesn't matter, as long as you feel something. And there's no doubt that Patrick has a great voice. And that's all you need to know.

The rest is up to you. So listen to the song and enjoy it.

Song of the Day #9: plans | LVRBOY

2021-02-12T14:13:00.000+02:00

Listening to new music is often a good plan.

PLANS by LVRBOY

This week, LVRBOY released his latest single, PLANS. This song was written quite some time ago, and his fans should find this song as good as his earlier music.

There are artists who don't have their "own" style. Sometimes, their songs sound like this song by this artist or like that song by that artist. LVRBOY has his own style, and that's is probably one of the reasons why his fans like his music. And if you actually like LVRBOY's previous songs, you should like this one too. And there is almost nothing to add because music tells more than just words. You just combine nice lyrics, good melody and produce it well – and that's how you make a good song.

So plan yourself a nice hour (or more) of some good music.

Song of the Day #8: Paralyzed | Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

2021-02-05T14:44:00.001+02:00

Let's start the weekend with an energetic song.

PARALYZED by Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

This is the new single by Jason and Joey and their new project, REALFICTION. It's difficult to compare the first song, FUCKED UP & PRETTY, to this one. Both songs are great and it's probably impossible to say which one is better. This song is upbeat and energetic. A bit short. But it's short enough to make you want for more. There's a category of songs that sound great outdoors, and as loud as possible. Preferably, in the summer. This one fits into this category. Also, let's not forget the melody. There are a few lines that can give you chills. Maybe not instantly, so listen to the song for more than 10 times and you will get it.

REALFICTION is Jason and Joey's project through which they tell stories about fictional characters. They tell those stories through their songs and videos. And those songs and stories are crazy. In the most positive way. I think this word describes their music very precisely. This craziness is unique and interesting. And the more music like this, the better. And more indie music in general.

So stream it on Spotify and everywhere else. Also, follow their music/social media pages because there's more to come.

Song of the Day #7: Maybe Could Have Loved | Charli Adams, Nightly

2021-01-21T14:10:00.003+02:00

This is one of the best songs of the year. Yes, it's January. And, yes, it's true.

MAYBE COULD HAVE LOVED by CHARLI ADAMS and NIGHTLY

"It's the middle of the night." That's a line from the song and it's so fitting in here. It was exactly midnight when I heard the song for the first time. And it sounds great at night. Like the rest of the songs by NIGHTLY. Although a bit different from their other songs, it's quite a masterpiece.

Last year, NIGHTLY and CHARLI ADAMS recorded the song THE MOVIES, and this is their second collaboration. It's written, among others, by Charli and NIGHTLY's Jonathan Capeci, and here their voices sound great together. And it is a high-quality production. It's one of those songs that you get chills the very first time you listen to it, and it still gives you chills when you listen for the 9th or 19th time. Good songs aren't made in 10 minutes or so. It takes much more time. And when the finished product affects you, then it's probably a very good sign.

It's quite a sad song. But it's an incredible song. It deserves to be streamed for at least one thousand times. Of course, not in a day. Possibly in a few weeks.

If you want to feel some magic, look no more.

Song of the Day #6: Fucked Up & Pretty | Jason LoCricchio, Joey Brodnax, REALFICTION

2021-01-08T14:43:00.004+02:00

And here's another song of the day. Who says that there can only be one song of the day?

FUCKED UP & PRETTY by JASON LOCRICCHIO, JOEY BRODNAX, REALFICTION

Today, Jason LoCricchio released his latest single, and it's a collaboration with Joey Brodnax, under their new project called REALFICTION. Written and produced by Jason and Joey, it is a really nice song. And that's it. It has everything that a good song should have. It's well produced, there's a very nice melody and good vocals.

Despite it's topic and a juxtaposition of two quite different states in the title, it's an upbeat and catchy song. Music does not necessarily have to be all nice and family-friendly. What comes to your mind when you hear this song is another question, though. But if you live somewhere where it's cold in January, this song might make you think of those nice sunny days. In short, it's simply a feel-good song. If you're enjoying it, nothing else really matters. Just one thing: you need to listen to it to see for yourself.

Song of the Day #5: So Sly - Alternate Version | Nightly

2021-01-08T14:04:00.002+02:00

Despite all the things happening in the world right now, there are some positive things about 2021. New music is one of those things.

SO SLY - ALTERNATE VERSION by NIGHTLY

This band needs no introduction. Just look at some previous posts on this blog. Last year, NIGHTLY released their debut album, and this is their second alternate version of the songs from that album. In fact, this was a nice surprise because the band announced it about two hours after I first heard it. This is one of the advantages of living in Europe and getting to hear new music early.

Now, about the song itself. It might be that I like this version better than the original. Although both are great, you might want to listen to this one if you just want to relax and enjoy your night. Basically, it's a song you would include into your chill music playlists. And if you listen to the song with your headphones on, you might feel, not just hear, how good it is. So forget about those mainstream artists, who don't deserve to be mentioned here, for a while and let the magic flow into you ears.

Song of the Day #4: Reverie | Becoming Young

2021-01-05T14:58:00.000+02:00

It's 2021. New hopes, goals, and expectations. But one thing always stays the same. It's music. It can always make you feel something. And it's time for the first new song of 2021.

REVERIE by BECOMING YOUNG

It's a feel-good song about finding someone. It is a lot different from other songs by BECOMING YOUNG, but it shouldn't stop you from listening to it. When an artist releases something different from their past work, you should take it as a natural thing. It sounds like a upbeat folk song but it has a wide appeal. There are a lot of words and you should listen to them. Many songs have stories. In some cases, it's how those songs were written. In other cases, the story is within the lyrics. Here, it's both.

If you listen to this song, you may say that it has "good vibes," or something else that is trendy right now. Anyway, it's really optimistic and it might make you remember something good that happened in your life. Or you may listen to this song (on repeat) and hope that something exciting happens to you in the future. Some positivity can never hurt anyone. And positivity like this in music is always a big plus. So enjoy the new year and new music.

ST Presents #15: Emily Weisband

2020-12-21T14:16:00.000+02:00

WHO?

EMILY WEISBAND is an American singer, currently based in Nashville. She has already established herself as a talented songwriter, and in 2019, she released her first album, IDENTITY CRISIS. In November, her EP, NOT AFRAID TO SAY GOODBYE, came out.

WHY?

Unlike most artists that I write about on this blog, I did not discover her music on Spotify. It was an Instagram story of another artist that led me to her music. I don't always pay attention to recommendations on Instagram, but in that case, what was written about her music in that story was enough. And I'm glad I checked her music out. Emily has a great voice that is so powerful that you don't really need any other instrument. Of course, all the songs are well produced, but it's her voice that really stands out. When you listen to Emily's music you not only hear the words, but you also feel something. It's genuine and emotional. And you can enjoy it. That's all you need.

HIGHLIGHTS?

The first song of hers that I listened to was THE WAY I SAY GOODBYE. It's almost guaranteed that it will give you chills. You should also listen to these: HEALTHY, OUT OF THIS CAR, THINGS I'M OVER, YOU'RE COOL, SOMETHING I'M NOT, and THE HOLLY JOLLY TRUTH (during the Christmas season). But don't stop with these songs. There's more.

Song of the Day #3: replacing you | LVRBOY

2020-12-16T15:11:00.002+02:00

Although 2020 is ending, new music does not stop coming in. And this time, it's not not just a song, but also a whole album.

REPLACING YOU by LVRBOY

The album contains 8 tracks, some of which are already known to LVRBOY'S fans. By the way, this is his second record this year (the first being his debut EP), and it's a proof that indie artists can be productive as well. And those indie artists deserve more attention. That's a fact. Anyway, the title track is a very catchy song about relationships that end in different ways. If you like LVRBOY's music, you should probably like this song too. If you're not familiar with his music yet, then you have a nice chance to get acquainted with it.

And it's quite addictive, too. Try putting this on repeat, and you may end up listening to this song for an hour. Or maybe even longer. (It may happen if you really like music.) The song is just under 3 minutes, and it's probably one of the reasons why it's hard to stop listening to it. You want more. And, unlike some mainstream songs, it does not get annoying after a few minutes.

By the way, this song is written by LVRBOY, Asher Postman (who also produced it), and STRUAN. If you're not new to this blog, you may know what LVRBOY and STRUAN can do, so you should definitely give it a try. Some songs are universal, that is, you can listen to them anywhere and anytime. So try listening to it and see where/when it sounds best. And don't forget the rest of the songs from that album because it's not the only good song there.

Song of the Day #2: Go Out With My Friends | STRUAN

2020-12-02T14:58:00.003+02:00

GO OUT WITH MY FRIENDS by STRUAN

December starts with a long-awaited song from Nashville. This song was written by STRUAN and LVRBOY, and it's not about spending time with friends during the pandemic. It was written before that whole thing started.

If you know both STRUAN's and LVRBOY's music, you will notice that this song sounds more like LVRBOY rather than STRUAN. But that makes it even more interesting. And it is a great tune. It would be perfect for a sunny day in the summer. It's upbeat and almost 4 minutes long, so you can enjoy it and listen to this song non-stop. And you should do that. Spin this for as long as you can and you will feel good about that. If you're having a bad day, this song might make you smile.

STRUAN's music sounds great almost everywhere. You can listen to it in your car, at home, when you go for a walk or run, with your headphones on, etc. And I would highly suggest listening to it with your heaphones on. You will notice some details that you may not necessarily hear from your phone's speaker. And headphones help you hear what's best about this song.

Conclusion: Christmas came early. And you don't have to listen to Christmas music to know that.

Song of the Day #1: all my friends are sad | LVRBOY, Leah Sykes

2020-11-19T14:42:00.001+02:00

Each post in this new series will be about new songs that are worth listening to. Let's start with a ballad from Nashville, TN.

ALL MY FRIENDS ARE SAD by LVRBOY and LEAH SYKES.

The title of the song may suggest that it will be a sad song about sad people. Indeed, if you listen to it, it's not really optimistic. Also, I would say that it's quite personal. It's meaningful. And that is important in music.

But when you look at it as a whole, it does not sound really depressing. What makes it not so sad is it's melody and production. If you listen to the song for a few times, you might see (hear) some positivity. Despite its lyrics, its mood is not so melancholic. Its style is similar to that of other songs by LVRBOY, so you might like this one as well. Also, both voices sound really nice together.

When speaking about some sort of optimism in lyrics, there is a line about putting a smile on. A real smile, no faking. It might be hard sometimes, but when there is music like this, it might make you feel better. There are things that can't be changed, but sometimes music can help. Both the artist and the listener. So stream it and enjoy. I would also recommend listening to this song with your headphones on so that you hear every detail. Sometimes those details, that are not visible (hearable) at first, can add something really nice to the song.

ST Presents #14: Kyle Reynolds

2020-11-16T17:54:00.001+02:00

WHO?

Let me introduce you to KYLE REYNOLDS. He is a pop artist from California. He has released quite a lot of music, and also some good stuff in collaboration with various producers.

WHY?

As always, I write about what I find on Spotify. Kyle's music is no exception. What is different from other artists that I wrote about before is that his music could be a very good fit for the weekend. If don't like parties, it's not a problem. There are some slow, romantic tunes. If you like good voices and music that is not all over the internet and songs that not everybody knows, then you should listen to Kyle's music. There are a lot of good artists that you haven't heard of. And that's a fact. Also, support those artists who also write their own music. You can't call someone an artist if they just perform songs written for them.

HIGHLIGHTS?

You might start with his latest songs, FUTURE and I'M SORRY MOM. Listen to these more than once, trust me, it's worth it. Then, listen to ALONE and REAL LOVE. If you want something completely different, try listening to PETALS ON A ROSE or HOLD YOU TIGHTER. And there's much more. So check his Spotify page out, or any other plaftorm that you use.

ST Presents #13: BYRNE

2020-11-03T15:00:00.003+02:00

It's time to meet another independent artist. This time it's BYRNE, a pop artist from California. His first single, WE DON'T SLEEP, was released in 2019. So far, he has released 6 songs, and his latest single, NOMADS, came out in September.

It was June 1st, 2020, when I found his music on Spotify. To get acquainted with BYRNE, listen to MAN ON THE MOON. That was the song that came up on that week's Discover Weekly playlist. This song (and some others) sound quite fun. At times, it may sound a bit careless, but sometimes you just have to be careless and look at your life from a different perspective. And I wouldn't say that BYRNE's music is some typical pop music with standard beats and meaningless lyrics. Thus, it's a nice chance to discover something new and different.

If you listen to, say, NOMADS, DON'T LEAVE ME, or WE DON'T SLEEP, you may see that there is something personal in these songs. Sometimes, there are songs that make you wonder how much truth there is. BYRNE writes all of his songs (with the help of some other people), And that's another reason to listen to this artist. So, listen to the six songs that are available now, and enjoy a mix of fun and romantic music. If you like some songs, listen again and let it grow on you. Usually, music tends to grow on you. Also, while you're listening to music, forget about your problems just for a short period of time and don't worry too much. Be positive.

ST Presents #12: The Satellite Station

2020-10-28T15:00:00.001+02:00

THE SATELLITE STATION is the moniker of Travis Rue, an American singer-songwriter, who writes folk music. His first song came out in 2019, and this year, he released an 11-song album, WHAT ARE WE ALL SEARCHING FOR. He continues releasing new music, and his latest single, SHELTER, came out four weeks ago. I'm sure he has a lot of to offer in the future, but this song is really powerful in its lyrics and melody.

That is what makes his music special. He has a unique voice and he writes meaningful lyrics. Combine it with nice melodies, and you get hautingly good music. And "haunting" is the word you will find if you search for more information about THE SATELLITE STATION. His style is not really typical to folk music. There is actually something special in his songs, and the word "haunting" is really fitting in here. Try listening to some of the songs in a forest, preferably, alone, and see if it makes you feel something. You wouldn't describe most of his songs as happy, and definitely not sad. There's is depthness in his music, and it may make you start asking questions. While you listen to THE SATELLITE STATION's songs, try to think about your life, maybe you will also get some answers.

To start this session of questions and answers, try listening to DEAR OLD FRIEND. Then, continue with BRAVE, NEED YOU RIGHT NOW, WHAT ARE WE ALL SEARCHING FOR, PHANTOM. And if you like those, there's more. Depending on where you are right now, this might be your perfect soundtrack for a rainy day in October. Or for a slow walk in a park with no one around. And if you don't like folk music, just give it a try. Maybe you simply don't know that it's for you.

NewTunes #7: Corey Harper, Volunteer, Adam Turley, Nia Hendricks, Adam Simons, Kyle Reynolds, Colton Venner, Devan

2020-10-23T14:44:00.003+03:00

When Friday comes and several artists that you like release new music, sometimes it's difficult to choose which songs to review. This time, there's quite a lot of good stuff. So let's hear some music.

FADE TO BLACK - STRIPPED by COREY HARPER

Today, Corey quite unexpectedly released a stripped version of one of his songs that was previously included in his album, OVERCAST. To rephrase some of the lyrics, it's so hard to criticize a good song. Sometimes less is more. And there's nothing to add. Please, stream it.

COLOR: PART 1 by ADAM TURLEY

Yesterday (October 22nd), ADAM TURLEY released his latest EP. It includes 5 songs, 4 of which you might have already heard. The newest song in this project is YOU'RE SO WEAK. All the songs are similar in style, and this EP is really consistent. My personal favorite is GEMINI. But you should listen to the whole EP on repeat to see which song(s) you like most.

SANDCASTLES IN JUNE by VOLUNTEER

This new song by VOLUNTEER might make you miss summer. Often, there are songs which sound like they were made for a particular season. And when you listen to them, you deliberately think of that time. This one would definitely sound great in June, July, or August, but don't wait until then. Stream it now and enjoy.

WALK THROUGH FIRE by COLTON VENNER

Today, COLTON VENNER released a 4-song EP, and his fans should already be familiar with three of them. The one song that is brand new is titled YOU CAN'T DO ENOUGH. This EP is an example of music that simply sounds good and you just want to listen to it more than once. And it's a big plus when music is performed by people who wrote it.

PULL ME UNDER by NIA HENDRICKS

That voice and melody. Also, the production. This new single by NIA HENDRICKS is really personal, like her other songs from the upcoming EP. My advice would be to close your eyes when you listen to this song. Sometimes, it helps you actually see more in music.

I'M SORRY MOM by KYLE REYNOLDS (+UNKNOWN BRAIN)

A completely different song comes from KYLE REYNOLDS. This single might be perfect for a Friday or Saturday night. The best part of the song starts at around 0:57 (and is repeated again twice). Stream it and don't feel sorry for doing that. Also, listen to another song by Kyle, FUTURE, which was released last week.

RAIN AND THUNDER by ADAM SIMONS

Another EP that comes from another Adam. Now, it's time for some folk music. This type of music is perfect when you just want to listen to some songs and not to worry about anything. And if you listen to the lyrics, you might find some meaningful insights. For example, that lifes moves fast and you can't do anything to change that (LIFE MOVES SO FAST). Of course, it's not new information, but it reminds you that you should get from life as much as possible, and that you can support artists by streaming their music.

OVER WITH by DEVAN (+NATIIVE)

Let's finish this mix with a different song that features DEVAN's voice. This one is also suitable for the weekend. Or for a nice car ride. It often happens that the more you listen to a song, it sounds better and better. And if you like it, add it to your playlists.

ST Presents #11: Kathleen Regan

2020-10-20T15:02:00.004+03:00

Let's meet another artist from Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Boston, KATHLEEN REGAN is a singer/songwriter who writes and performs folk music. She has so far released a number of songs, and her new EP, PEOPLE AND PLACES (VOLUME 1), will be released on October 30th.

Sometimes it's difficult to find a female artist with a strong or unique voice. In this case, Kathleen's voice is really nice to the ear, very colorful and enchanting. Sometimes there is music that is about something and nothing at the same time. But here it's different. Kathleen's music sounds personal. Music either has to be about feelings or it has to make you feel something. Or both.

Her latest song, THE GENTLEMAN, came out last month. Check it out. You should also listen to COAST OF MAINE, WOULD YOU WAIT, HOW LONG IS FOREVER, YOU NEVER KNOW. And carry on. Listen to other songs as well. Stream them on Spotify or other streaming platforms. In other words, enjoy and support real music.
