This week we have joined in with the conversation at Twitter (www.twitter.com/simplecouk), we have found all of our favourite UK (some USA) magazines to follow, fashion twitterers, UK retail shops you like and some of our favourite UK beauty blogs including: Beauty Pages, Beauty Addict UK, Beauty Guerrilla, The Style PA and Cult beauty blog.

We were also pleasantly surprised that a few of these lovely beauty bloggers had reviewed our products too.

There are lots of USA American beauty bloggers on Twitter, not as many UK beauty bloggers than we first anticipated, hoping to find more on there soon, so we can be even more clear on what is important to you.

If you have contacted us about your UK beauty blog, please note we are reviewing and will be in touch soon, we have lots of social networking plans for the future, so will be in contact to let you know how you could join in with that. If you haven’t let us know about your beauty blog or channel yet, feel free to send these in via Twitter or by simply replying to this blog post.

Keeping on top of everything beautiful, we are also following news on celebrity gossip, what Gok_Wan is up to, receiving updates from our favourite teen site Stardoll, making friends with UK mums and following fashion updates from some of the UK’s top newspaper fashion editors.

It is all very exciting stuff….

As you all know we believe in Goodness and we hope that twittering will make us even gooder (if that’s a word !!). We will be connecting with our fans on twitter, promoting the VIP club and promotions and letting you know who we admire (our follow list) and keeping on top of everything beautiful.
Hope to see you on Twitter soon or YouTube - wherever you feel most comfortable really.
Summer Holidays!

How smug do I feel?!!! My friend and I decided to take our children away for 2-weeks in the sun - we arrived at the airport with all our luggage - remembering not to forget in-date passports and the correct e-vouchers for our flight and of course having the correct weight suitcases for fear of having to repack and remove certain importants elements of clothing at check-in in front of all other passengers........ We had both forgotten the new ruling regarding liquids in hand-luggage. Now, I (Mrs Smug!) didn't need to have any liquids in my hand-luggage because I had my Simple Wipes (the answer to all my skincare needs!) whereas Amanda had some unacceptable liquid items in her handluggage which needed to be thrown away before we could even clear security! She was absolutely furious - not a great start to our holiday...... Needless to say she says that in future she will use Simple wipes as they are not only easy to use - but can be taken onto an aeroplane without causing a massive security scare!

When we arrived - it was so hot - unlike the UK - and we spent most of our time in and out of the pool and the last thing my children wanted to do was to stand still whilst I rubbed in suncream to every single piece of exposed body - I was so pleased that I had taken the SPF30 Kids Sun Cream in a spray bottle (I bought it in Boots) - it was soooo easy to apply and quick too!

As you can imagine, with 3 children I did not get a lot of time to simply read my book and lie in the sun (although we are all told not to nowadays because of the health scares asssociated with being in the sun) - so I am not "sun-tanned" - but I have come back with a beautiful healthy tan - as my 9 year old son William said - "Mummy, you don't have a sun tan - you have a moon tan"! I used Simple Self-Tan Lotion every night and woke up every morning with a beautiful healthy glow - hence his description of a moon-tan. I would thoroughly recommend it - none of the health issues and yet all of the glowing comments - "Wow, you look healthy", "You must have had a great time - you really have caught the sun"...... Little do they all know!

WOW!

Simple, I just love your new website. It is so clean and fresh looking. There are so many new parts I don't know where to begin! I completed a Skin Health Check and was so excited when I received my report..... It is so comprehensive and full of so many pieces of advice and information - I didn't realise that I knew so little! Note to self: I really must drink more water and eat more berries. I also love the fact that you have recommended a selection of products which are right for my skin and I could buy them straight away - without having to even leave my house. I hope they arrive soon - because according to my report I need to start using them straight away - particularly Radiance Wipes and the Eye Cream. I also love the new VIP site - I know that you asked us our opinion about the site we preferred - I didn't realise just how much better it would be..... I want to be VIP of the month so I am going to recommend all my friends.....
Well done Simple - great products and a great website..........

www. Father-Christmas.com

I love Christmas and it’s only weeks away! My only complaint is that it arrives far too soon. One minute it’s October and then, blink, it’s the first week of December and I’m buying an advent calendar with a sale sticker on it and panicking about presents.

Every year I swear I’ll be more prepared. Every year I think I’ll tackle buying Christmas presents earlier, but it never happens. I half write a list, start searching the web for ideas and then leave it to the last minute when everything has either sold out, or the last delivery date has gone (I usually discover this the day after). Not this year though, this year is different.

This year I’ve got a battle plan. My tactics are simple: get everything off the internet: do not go to Bluewater. This means I can comfortably dedicate one lunch hour a week between now and Christmas to track down the best presents on the planet. I can keep tabs on what everyone else is buying via the news sites and have sites like handbag.com to keep me updated on what’s new. Then I can run price searches online to make sure I get the best deal and find the best 0% interest credit card to put it all on. Genius or what? I

’m not embarrassed about it, I’m convinced that Santa has long deserted his traditional home of the North Pole and is cruising around cyberspace in his sledge just like me. He would be if he had any sense anyway…

I’m not worried that I’ll be missing out on the whole festive spirit thing. Instead of traipsing around shops getting increasingly wound up by long queues and over priced goods, I will be partaking in a suitably Christmassy activity, like ice skating at the Natural History Museum, a Carol Concert at St-Martin-in-the-Fields or the Christmas Hall at Harrods. I’ll sit in the calm, gifts surrounding me, mulled wine in hand and ‘The Best Christmas album In The World Ever’ playing in the background. Then I’ll set about wrapping my present mountain (badly).

And if my plan doesn’t work this year? Next Christmas it’ll be vouchers, socks and a nice bottle of plonk all round.

I’m not a plastic bag!

The phrase ‘Going Green’ no longer conjures up images of seasickness, jealousy or Fungus the Bogeyman, but now is firmly associated with being ‘environmentally friendly’. The drive to save the planet has emerged from the domain of Swampy and his cohorts and exploded into the mainstream. It’s great news for the closet environmentalists amongst us who used to hide our items made from recycled paper at the bottom of the shopping trolley in case someone saw it and branded us a ‘tree-hugger’. The masses have accepted that we all need to be a little bit greener and less wasteful, the message driven home thanks to politicians. And they are not all talk, measures have actually been put in place to make it all a bit easier. We are encouraged to recycle, re-use carrier bags (or better still not use them at all), walk or cycle, lift share and not take a 4x4 into the congestion zone!

We’re au fait with all the fluffy phrases like Greenhouse Effect (sounds quaint doesn’t it?) and Global Warming (doesn’t sound too bad considering the summer we’ve just had) but really these concepts aren’t that fluffy at all. Thanks to global warming some predict that by the time a baby born today is 80 years old the world will be 6 and a half degrees warmer than it is now. Melting snow, rising sea levels and temperatures spell doom and gloom for us all. Scary stuff hey?

But will the alarming predictions come true?
Who knows. The truth is that, regardless, we are starting to care about our planet, which is no bad thing. By adopting the environmental practises handed to us on a plate it’s easier than ever to ‘do our bit’ and it’s happening. It’s not just individuals that are going green but those that really can make a difference – big business. Who cares what their agenda is? We don’t believe that it’s out of the goodness of their hearts, but sustainability can give a business an edge over its competitors.

We won’t know if our efforts will, or could, have made a difference until it’s too late. It would be a shame for our kids if the sceptical amongst us prevail and that 6.5 degrees causes all sorts of trouble in the future. I quite like the planet and I would like it to stay the way it is, with this in mind re-using a plastic bag and turning a light off hardly seems like a big deal. Or is it?
