Sanya Richards looks strong and wins in 49.23s at Bislett Games’s 400m event

Sanya Richards sets a world leading time at Olso by running 49.23 seconds in the 400m.

Her win marks her second Golden League win after Berlin and in contention for the jackpot prize.

The American is on-form and promises a sub 49s run this season.

Damu Cherry 12.68s in 100m hurdles clinches win at Bislett Games

American Damu Cherry won the women’s 100m hurdles in 12.68 seconds, while Jamaica’s Brigitte Foster-Hylton took second spot in a time of 12.75 Jamaica’s Brigitte Foster-Hylton took second spot in a time of 12.75.

Priscilla Lopes-Schliep captured the third spot at the Golden League Bislett Games held in Oslo, Norway.

David Gillick runs 44.77s at Madrid Grand Prix to set new Irish record

David Gillick erased his old Irish 400m mark by winning the 400m in 44.77 seconds at the Meeting de Madrid 2009, which is part of the IAAF World Athletics, held yesterday. The Irishman now ranks fourth in the World Rankings.

Another of Jamaican sprinting factory, Steve Mullings ran 10.11 seconds to win the men’s 100 meters.

He was well ahead of other sprinters, the closest was Francis Obikwelu who ended second overall in 10.35 seconds.

Asafa Powell’s come back from behind 100m win at Bislett Games in 10.07s

Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell despite having a terrible start in his 100m race, he came back from behind and won the event in a time of 10.07 seconds.

He just edges runner-up Daniel Bailey of Antigua who also ended with the same time in the photo-finish.

Deresse Mekonnen wins the Mile in 3:48.95 at the Bislett Games 2009

Eithophian Deresse Mekonnen ran a brave one miler in Oslo as he won the event in a time of 3:48.95.

The mile is however not part of the Golden League jackpot of events, and it is held as Oslo has a long standing tradition of producing mile performances at this venue.

It was a new national record and Deresse became the first Ethiopian to win the Dream Mile.
