It’s that time of the year again where the streets of Chinatown are filled with stalls peddling their new year goodies. Stall keepers call out to passersby to entice them with sample tit-bits. People are squeezing shoulder to shoulder and the air is thick with the mood of the new year.

Madoka 180 (Sony E-Mount)

I’m bringing you this exclusive preview of the world’s first 180 degree circular fisheye lens for mirrorless cameras (Sony E-Mount prototype). This is one of the only two pre-production pieces and it arrived in Singapore on 14th January 2012 for my preview and testing.

Elephant Parade @ Botanic Gardens

The baby art elephants have all been moved to the Botanic Gardens, Eco Lake for the “ABN AMRO Elephant Parade Viewing Days” from 8 to 11 January 2012″. This will be the only time that all 162 elephants are placed together in one place

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012 !

I’ve just reviewed the amount of commissioned work I’ve received over the past year. 2011 has been a tremendously fruitful year for me and I thank God that I’ve received so many projects. Profit is my highest yet, more than doubling the previous highest earnings which was in 2009. However there is a down side to this. The sheer amount of work has left me with much less time to photograph interesting stuff for SingaporeVR.com and even less time for myself. I haven’t made any resolutions for 2012 but I’m pretty sure it will be about finding balance in life.

Here is an exclusive sneak peek inside the Flower Dome conservatory. This is the larger of the two conservatories and replicates the cool dry conditions found in the Mediterranean and semi-arid tropical regions.

The Cloud Forest (not featured yet) is slightly smaller and replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions between 1000 to 3000 metres above sea level.

If everything works as planned, you should be seeing this automated post. I’m still in Greece for my photo shoot assignment and I’ve set this post to automatically come online today. This is an update of the MBS feature and I’ve added the VR of the ArtScience Museum. Even though I was privy to a leisurely tour of every one of the exhibits, I’m afraid I can only put up the VR of the permanent exhibit. Sorry folks, you gotta get the tickets to see the rest of the stuff personally It just wouldn’t be fun if you’re not actually there.
