Hey Beautiful People! Did you miss me?! I missed all of you!!!! I know, I know, I disappeared but I am still alive!!!!

*This was a previous post back in the day but I think it will be helpful for me to blog more*

New Format for my blog.... I think you all will like it

So I have decided to change the format of my blog, actually I was inspired by a dear friend to change the format of my blog. I believe with this different format my readers/friends/family/fans (oh how I wish I had fans lol) will get a better inside look of my life. So this is how the layout will look (please give me feed back):

I have decided to break my blog up into 5 sections: Getting into the Freakum Dress, The Day and the Life of a Diva, The Sassy book club, Talk Show, and Inspiration.

Getting into the Freakum Dress

This section will be about my journey of weight loss and exercise. I will talk about the ups and downs of a Thickalicious woman trying to become healthier. This section is really suppose to be a motivation for me to continue on my goals of trying to lose weight and get into the lovely shape that I need to be in.

The Day in the life a Diva

This section will be about the things that are going on with my work life. This right here will probably keep me sane, lol but I love it soooooooooooooo much........

The Sassy Book Club

This is where I let you know all about the books I am reading. Also about books that I want to read.

Talk Show

This is where all the drama goes down at....... I will talk about different things that has been bothering me or just my opinion about different subjects.

Inspiration

You know I always have to end on a good note so this section right here will have quotes, warm fuzzies, and encouraging words.

So this will be my layout of my blog and I am kind of excited about it. I hope you will enjoy my blogs even more now. Also to let you know I have decided to keep the colors for each section so they will stand out.

Alright, as if you cannot tell, I quit the 30 day shred after only the 10th day....... JUST SAD!!!!!

Even though I only did it for 10 days I did lose 4inches (hey now!). So I have decided to restarted for the month of December. So starting tomorrow me and Jillian will be bffs again.

So I know you all missed me, well I am back at it....

Day 10 of 30- Last day of level 1 (hopefully lol) and Confessions

Day 10 is completed and I am now watching level 2 so I can mentally prepare myself for tomorrow.

I did not weigh in with my trainer today because she wasn't feeling good this morning... I had good intentions to workout anyways but yea that did not happen..... Which leads me to confession time....

CONFESSIONS:

This morning I went to the gym and was only on the treadmill for 7 minutes and then I left
instead of going home after the gym, I went to McDonald's and order things I had no business of ordering ugh!!!!
I so was thinking about skipping out on the shred but I push through my laziness
I have not tracked my food and forever and a day, this is my struggle
I have been slipping with my water intake
I have been SUPER LAZY and when I get like this all I do is nap and eat

So based off of my confessions I need to get my life together ASAP!!!!!

SN: I am currently watching level 2 of the 30 day shred and I think I might really die/cry throughout the whole workout tomorrow (I am praying right now for strength lol)

Oh!!!! My friend/coworker/mentor/SHEro Dee has such beautiful handwriting that she is going to write down some motivating/inspiring quotes so I can post them around my apt and carry them around with me. I am excited about that!!!!!!

Day 9 of 30

So my friend gave me a great idea to switch up the Shred workout, though I do not know if I am ready for it lol. She was saying I should do 10 days of each level..... Over the weekend I watch the other levels and man they are intense.... If I do these 10 day each thing, that means tomorrow is my last day for level one..... I am going to pray about this but I think I can do it and it would be a great push for me.

Tomorrow is my weigh/measurement day with my trainer (so the moment of truth). This will allow me to see if I have any results from the Jillian Michaels workout since I have been doing it for over a week now. Like I said yesterday, I feel like I am smaller..... But its my eating habits that is killing me!!!!!!! I feel like I need to join/ make up a challenge about what I am eating. I am thinking about not eating after 7pm for real. That might really just help me with everything.

Motivation:

This is so true!!!!! I think I may post this on my fridge and even carry this quote around w/me, so I will think about it when I am eating my food.

Day 8 of 30

So I have been doing this workout for a whole week and I am still dying at the end lol. Man today I got 3 workouts in and I was thinking that I would do 4 but I was tired after Zumba.

Right now I am trying to go through the week without eating bread to see how that will affect my weigh in. Is it funny that I am quite excited to weight in this week. I just FEEL like I am getting smaller, I think its all the jumping jacks Jillian has me doing.

I really want some new clothes for real but I don't want to go shopping because in my mind I will not be that size for a very long time. Right now I am wearing 16s and XL shirt. Oh I can't wait to wear like a medium or something. If only I can cut my boobs off then I would be 50lbs lighter lol. Well I have to keep pushing to get the results I want.

I am beyond tired. I drove about 6 hours today in a big ole 12 passenger van and when I tell you all I was pushing it, trust me I was. Also today I have/had 2 meetings with my residents about destruction of the building (ugh). So basically I am drained, I am really counting down the days until Thanksgiving break so I don't have to worry about my building for a while.

Anyways, these are my new shoes from Shoe Dazzle (its the one to the left)

Motivation for today: "Nothing tastes as good as being healthy and full of energy feels." This is Oh so true! When I am eating right and exercising , I feel wonderful, its when I fall off the wagon is when I feel nasty, ugh! lol

Day 6 of 30 day shred

Day 6 is completed!

I feel like I will have all the lines memorized on this workout DVD by the time I complete the 30 days. Sometimes Jillian can be a little annoying lol. Though this workout is only 20 minutes, I still bust out a sweat so bad. I can't wait until I can complete the whole workout without stopping. That will be the highlight of my year if I can do that.

So today is my last day in Ohio for our conference. It was a long but worthwhile time. I truly enjoyed myself with the students and we bonded very well. Now I am dreading this 6 hour drive back. UGH!!!!!!!

I know throughout my healthy lifestyle journey, my main goal has been to stop making up excuses for exercising, eating healthy, and basically putting my health at the fore front. So for today's motivation I found the perfect quote:

Day 5 of 30 day Shred

I am waiting for this workout to get easier!!!!! But I have completed day 5 and trust it was a struggle.

I had a long busy day today. I drove about 6 hours then went to a conference and didn't have time to do the workout until 11pm. CRAZINESS!!!!

Anyways, so I decided that I will join another challenge called "Walking in the Winter ONEderland" which is a challenge to get in the the 100's by Dec. 31. I think I can do it, I just have to really stick to my workout plan and especially my diet. I think I may start this no carbs thing tomorrow.

Motivation for today: This is what I am thinking whenever I am working out but instead of a size 2 I am thinking more of a size 10 lol

Day 4 of 30 day Shred

My body is killing me!!!!! But day 4 is completed.

I weighed in today...... Gained 1.6 :'( But I know next week I will have a lost because all of my hard work. Next week Im gonna try not to eat so much carbs (I know I keep telling myself this but bread taste so good!!!!!)

This weekend I am out of town again on business. I will be at Kenyon in Gambier, Ohio for a Student of Color Conference, I am taking some students and I am quite excited about the trip. The conference is about Social Justice which should be interesting and I am excited to meet other professionals that belong to the GLCA (Great Lakes College Association). The students personally asked me to be their advisor for the trip.... that was a warm fuzzy for you me :o)

While I am away I am planning to keep doing the 30 day shred, so I will keep you all posted. We leave tomorrow morning and guess what I have to drive a 12 passenger fan (pray for us lol).

So Day 3 is completed.... I can't wait till the day I can go through this workout without stopping. By the time Jillian gets to the last section of the abs I am completely dead. Part of me wants to play the other levels to see how intense they are but I am so nervous lol.

Anyways, weigh in for WW is tomorrow and I don't know how the scale is going to read. I have been working out like a crazy person this week and my eating habits have been alright, they could have been better. So the moment of truth is tomorrow morning.

Since I lost 5 lbs last week I felt like a deserve to buy one of my goal gifts a little early lol. Here is my new gym bag I bought (and it came in today):

Day 2 is COMPLETED!

It was rough! The whole minute of jumping jacks always gets me. Though it is only day 2 I am already feeling the aches and pains of my muscles but its the good pain that you get when you had a good workout. Alot of friends/followers have told me that they are joining me on my 30 day challenge and I am LOVING IT!

Day 1 of the 30 day Shred

So today was day 1 of my 30 day challenge, and let me tell you this dvd workout is no joke! Though it's only a 20 minute workout, Jillian works you HARD!

As some of you know, I struggle with commitment for my workouts so I really want to stick with this. From the blogs I follow and people I know who have done this workout say that they have great results. So I am looking forward to when I go home for Thanksgiving to see my results. Maybe I will shock my family, which we be great. Isn't funny that your own family/yourself is the worst critic. My mother is always on my facebook page telling me that she doesn't like my profile pictures or I look big/small (that should be another blog post lol).

Anyways, are you all doing any challenges/changes for this wonderful month with 30 days?!

I went to a concert with some of my friends after Safe Halloween. We went to see Over the Rhine (mind you, I did not even know who this group was until I went to the concert today) and I fell in love. The main singer has an amazing voice! Check them out!

I am beyond tired right now!!!!!!!

The past couple of days I was in Louisville, Kentucky for a Yearbook Convention. I don't think I told you all that I am the advisor for the yearbook at Hope College (Milestone). Well anyways, we went to a convention to learn some cool and neat things to help us better our design/production/teamwork of the organization. I never been to Louisville before but its a cool and happening place, I might have to go back for a personal visit sometime soon. While I was in Louisville, I bought a "water bottle" but this is not any ordinary water bottle. It looks like a regular cup that you get from a fast food place (you know cup, lid, straw) but its made out of plastic. Oh my goodness its my most fav thing ever!!!!!! The reason why I love it so much is the straw. I really think I am addicted to straws, they just make my water intake easier to handle (I mean since I have to drink half of my weight in ounces).

Halloween........ Oh how I can't wait until its over!!!!! LOL, I am in charge of Safe Halloween for campus (which is tomorrow). Safe Halloween is a program that Hope puts on for the children of the Holland community. Its an hour long event where the kids can go to each hall to trick-or-treat. So being my first year here, I do not know what to expect and hopefully I have all my details in place to where everything runs smoothly. I mean I bought $937 worth of candy for the kids....... Lord please let this be a success, Amen!

So I am getting excited for my November Challenge, the 30 day Shred!!!!! Not only will I do the dvd workout for the whole month but I will blog about it each day. So if you know me, you know its a struggle for me to follow through on things but I am so up for this challenge! I am trying to get some of my coworkers to jump on my Nov Challenge so we shall see what happens. But if you think about it, by the time I go home for Turkey Day I probably will look like a new woman! So that is my motivation for my up incoming challenge. I think you should join me!!!!

Oh how I heart that quote! One of the buildings that I supervise, one of the residents has this quote on their window and I love seeing it every time I get into my car.

So I really want to TRIumph over my weight loss journey and stick with my fitness and healthy eating for the rest of my life. So I will TRY, TRY, and TRY some more. And when I'm feeling like I cannot try any longer, I will put some UMPH in my workouts and my eating habits.

After kickboxing today I went to Target and bought the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred because I was inspired by other blogs to do it. So I will start the workout in November since there is exactly 30 days in the month. Get excited!!!!!! Hopefully I will stick with it!

SN: I weigh in tomorrow since I have to leave for a conference tomorrow evening. Hopefully I will see the scale go down rather than up!

My motivation for today:

"Rule your mind or it will rule you."

This quote is so TRUE! Everything we do in life is really based on how we think. If we walk into a situation and think that is going to be negative, then more than likely it will be. Our mind sets us up for either failure or GREATNESS! I am trying to transform my mind to think nothing but GREATNESS.

Today for prime example: I did my running program and I was STRUGGLING! My mind was telling me to just stop, get off the treadmill and walk away. But I told myself no!!!!!!! I could finish the program and I just thought about how great I would feel afterwards.

Lately, my mind has been thinking very negative about my weight loss and my exercising but I refuse to let think that way any longer. I am making a commitment to myself to think nothing but positive things and to do things that will help me with my journey rather than harm me.

First two steps to my commitment is waking up in the morning to wake up and stop making up excuses.
