The most important thing to do to be able to sing higher is mastering how to sing head voice. The notes resting at the high end of the scale are also called head voice because they vibrate in head and noise. Opera singers who possess great voices commonly use this head voice. The popular Susan Boyle is also using one of these tones in her voice. This head voice is commonly used in choral songs and by choirs in houses of worship like the church.

You can distinguish the head voice as one coming from the chest which is the one that many people use in singing. When a singer uses chest voice, the sound that she generates vibrates in the chest cavity. This is the voice that you use naturally just like with most people. This is the reason why long years of vocal coaching are required for classically-trained singers in developing their voices.

It is important for these types of singers to learn how to sing head voice and speak in a different way that is not natural for many people. Seasoned pro singers use the so-called mixed voice to enable them to switch between the mixed voice and the head voice. If you want to succeed as a pro singer who is able to reach a variety of notes, then, you should develop your mixed voice.

You can do something in developing your head voice and be able to sing higher without straining your vocal cords by training yourself to move up and down on the scales, and not putting pressures on your chest. You can do this by being in a relaxed condition whenever you engage in practicing this. It may be difficult at first, but when you’re used to it, you’ll realize that it is becoming easier.

As you go along practicing, you can attain a thorough knowledge in having a mixed voice and how to sing head voice without straining your vocal cords. If you can allocate enough time to practice, you can be sure that you’ll be able to master it in due time. You can then control your vocal cords and sing higher in a relaxed manner without straining yourself. Singing becomes something unpleasant if you have to pull your chest that may result into a painful body condition.

This is why you should be relaxed in performing this technique because otherwise, your vocal cords will be strained. Therefore, you should not put pressures to yourself in doing it; instead, do it methodically in a slow manner. In performing how to sing head voice, some singers adopt relaxation techniques like yoga. You can also perform relaxation techniques if you want to get ready for these kinds of vocal exercises.

In mastering this method, you will be able to take the benefit of having a powerful head voice through combining your chest voice and head voice to have an excellent quality of your singing voice. When you have mastered how to sing head voice, you’ll be delighted to rediscover yourself in singing with great ease.

In normal breathing, the process of inhaling and exhaling is shallow, while in singing, you have to inhale faster and exhale slowly, and in doing this, you have to adopt proper vocal breathing exercises. Aside from this style of breathing, you have to keep a good body posture. If you maintain a perfect body posture, you can sing with great ease because you are able to control your breathing style.

However, controlled breathing is not achieved in a natural way. You have to indulge in practicing hard to attain proper breathing which is required in professional singing. Your ability to sing proficiently depends on the way you can control your breathing that is why you need to practice a lot of good breathing exercises. In this article, you’ll learn some breathing exercises like inhaling, exhaling and posing required for pro singing.

1) Breathing Exercise For Inhalation
The first exercise is called Breathing Exercise for Inhalation which involves taking a full breath quickly in order to match your voice with the accompanying musical instruments. In doing this, you should explore the best way to take oxygen by performing simple vocal breathing exercises program. Assume that the air that you’re taking is truly heavy that it falls down to your belly button; so, breathe faster as the air quickly falls inside your body.

This concept deals with visualizing the heavy air that enters your body, but quickly falls inside your body. Filling your lungs quickly is the way you should inhale in singing. The initial reaction of your body towards this technique is that you could perhaps yawn a lot. But don’t worry about this; it’s just a natural tendency for your body to react since it is getting confused with different amounts of oxygen entering it as you perform your vocal breathing exercises.

2) Breathing Exercise for Exhalation
The second exercise is called “Breathing Exercise for Exhalation” which requires a smooth and consistent exhaling process in singing. If you breathe this way, you can sing a variety of high notes as well as slow phrases with great ease. Try the best breathing technique in singing which is blowing a feather around the room, and blowing it up high on the air. To do this, you have to blow a long stream of air to move it up. In your effort to let the feather stay up in the air, observe how your body moves.

Try to determine which parts of your body are moving while you’re in the act of performing vocal breathing exercises. In this exercise, you will notice that your abdomen is slowly coming back to normal, and the chest stays in the same position. After doing this, it would be necessary for you to take a deep breath immediately.

3) Warm Up Breathing Exercise
The third exercise is called Warm up Breathing Exercise which aims to loosen your lips in singing. Here, you are supposed to breathe normally, and place your lips together. Perform an exhale for about 3 minutes in such a way that the air will pass between your lips causing them to shake. With these vocal breathing exercises, you can sing perfectly at last!

There is a common belief that private tutorials on vocal lessons are the only effective programs available for singing, but what about singing lessons at home? Now you can have the most enticing singing lesson that you can practice at the comfort of your home. By just downloading a singing course like Singorama, you can learn easily the art of singing at your time and pace without the necessity of hiring a costly local vocal tutor.

But why should people prefer to choose Singorama over other private lessons available on the internet? The most transparent reason is because of the low price that they charge their clients. In hiring private tutors, lessons are more expensive than online programs because you are required to pay for each visit and each individual lesson. Since there are several lessons to learn, then, it becomes very expensive for a student to take private lessons.

With Singorama, you only have to pay once, and you get the whole package of Singorama singing lessons at home for your lifetime use. You can access the program for life, and you have the benefit of using it anytime you want at your convenience, and as much as you want. Doing the lessons at your own schedule is another reason why it is preferred by online searchers over private lessons. With online tutorial, you can practice anytime you want at the comfort of your home, whether it’s 3 in the morning or 8 in the evening.

This online singing lesson is always accessible to you, and you don’t need to disturb anybody at the wee hours of the night to practice singing. Singorama is so popular nowadays since you don’t have to learn singing in front of others if you want to have privacy. This factor depends on the type of your personality, whether you want an audience in practice singing, or you prefer to be alone in singing lessons at home.

Just remember that in having private lessons, not all mentors are the same. Some may be accommodating and friendly in their way of teaching, others may crack your nerve for being somewhat irritable and dominant without any words of encouragement for students. Still others may be brutally frank and sarcastic in pointing your faults directly, and they may even insult you all the time that could cause you to quit early.

In adopting Singorama, singing lessons at home will never be the same again as you had your frustrating private lessons. Just have the guts and interest to practice regularly with the proper way in singing, and you can achieve your goal. Be inspired all the time, don’t believe that singers are born, not created.

Many professionals are a product of Singorama, so, if they were able to do it, so can you. All you need is to have a strong self-confidence, enough patience in honing your skills, and strong determination to succeed. With this online lesson, you will learn singing lessons at home in just a period of 3 months, after which, you can sing like a professional.

In increasing your vocal range faster, you have to consistently follow the technique taught by a good mentor. It’s a matter of gaining the knowledge of singing correctly which could help you quickly just like learning other skills. Each person has a unique vocal classification referring to the kind of voice that you have. Understanding the kind of voice that you have is essential in determining the realistic vocal range that you should obtain.

In case of men, the voice may be categorized into tenor, baritone or bass. Based on the classical methods of singing, the vocal ranges from 2 to 3 octaves or 8 whole tones in length. On the other hand, women also have 3 categories; namely, soprano, mezzo soprano and alto, which are also called vocal classifications in music. These categories in singing serve as the basis for classifying in what range your voice could fit in at its best.

As an example, a female voice that is alto tends to sound best to sing alto notes. This doesn’t mean exactly that the singer is not able to sing soprano notes, but it’s just that she would sound best in alto notes. It may be richer and more powerful for her to sing lower on the scale. It is common with a lot of singers, but this can be remedied by following some methods of relaxation. Increasing your vocal range can be achieved by relaxing your soft palate.

It enables you to open up your throat to allow more oxygen to flow that makes singing a lot easier in any range. In doing this, you should make your Adam’s apple totally still. This may sound strange, but in doing this technique, you will notice that your larynx is moving up and down while fluctuating between certain points in your vocal range. In general, this movement of your larynx actually limits the amount of vocal cords that is being used.

In increasing your vocal range, you should learn to relax these important parts of your body in singing in order to expand your vocal range without much effort. It takes some practice ‘though, but you can achieve it with the correct guidance in due time. You can either get a reliable vocal mentor or search for an effective home study course in singing which provides clear demonstration of these techniques.

The ability to expand the vocal range is a common desire for most singers, but they can’t achieve it without applying the correct technique. If this is not followed, these singers will just end up being frustrated due to sore throat syndrome. Another way of increasing your vocal range is by breathing through the diaphragm which many singers do.

In this article, you have seen how these relaxation techniques contribute in improving your vocal range faster if you implement them diligently. You have also learned the proper way to increase your voice range which all pro singers aspire to have. Most of all, constant practice in increasing your vocal range should be included in your routine to become a great singer.

Highly Recommended Ways on How to Sing in Harmony

Solo performance in singing may be a difficult thing to do, so, if you want to be a member of group singers, you should learn how to sing in harmony. However, you might think that it’s a lot easier to sing with a group and learn the basics in singing with proper blending and harmony. You may be surprised to know that this type of singing may even be more challenging than performing solo.

Prolific singers adopt a few steps that would enable them to sing in harmony. It’s easy to sing in harmony; all you need do is to have a constant practice in order to master this great skill. Learn the technique in singing melody on pitch, and practice making a harmony in piano and other musical instruments. One of the most important aspects in singing in harmony is through hearing different notes around you.

Basically, singing in harmony refers to singing with others, so, you should train yourself in singing with a group of singers. If you want to learn how to sing in harmony, then, don’t attempt to enhance your singing skills alone. Singing in a group will be more fun and exciting that could hone your skills in singing with others properly. When you try to learn parts, you should not only master your own part; try to explore all the parts.

In doing so, you will know in what way you can connect to others as a group. In group practice, take turns in performing your own part while others sing their part. In learning all the parts of group singing, you have to set some time to learn every part of the song. Practice singing the song for 3 to 5 times in order to learn how to sing in harmony with your group. Remember that in group singing, you should not try to overwhelm the other members of the group with your own notes.

This is because you are engaged in singing harmony, so, your notes should blend with other members of the group. Practice this technique by creating a singing format around a circle to give you an idea on how the others sing their notes. Consider the following steps that you can follow on how to sing in harmony. First, listen to the song that you have chosen carefully. Try to listen to the melody and instruments so you’ll be familiar with the song while singing.

Second, select the instrument that harmonizes with the melody. Third, determine if your voice matches the instrument. Make sure that you get the right octave so don’t sing the missing notes. Fourth, choose the pieces of melody notes and sing them in 3rd lower or 3rd higher. In trying to find harmony, just slide 3 notes downward or upward to form the melody. Fifth, an effective way of rendering this technique is to practice with a friend.

Now that you’ve learned how to sing in harmony, remember to practice often, but avoid stressing your voice by taking a break for some time.

If you are a vocalist, you should be aware that singing posture has a fundamental effect on tone and quality of your voice. It is considered as one of the great foundations in professional singing that needs some efforts to correct if you’re having troubles with it. Sometimes it may be difficult to focus your attention in attaining the correct posture because you have to practice it separately from your routine vocal practices. But why is good posture essential to produce a high-quality singing voice?

If you’re not serious in practicing professional singing posture, your chest cavity becomes compressed that puts some pressures on your diaphragm which hinders it from expanding. If your chest cavity cannot expand fully, it holds your breath to be retained in the upper chest cavity that leads to a shallow breath. This limits the intake of high amount of breath support for a vocalist, and restricts the projection of the vocalist.

When your posture is misaligned in singing, your voice moves in a downward direction that causes the sound waves to hit the floor directly, where they are distorted and refracted. As far as professional singing posture is concerned for opera singers, you will notice that when they are performing, their chests are pumped out while keeping their shoulders in backward position. The reason for this is to attain a good support for breathing correctly with the diaphragm.

You will observe that in the process of inhaling, your lungs are expanding in a downward direction instead of outward. This is because the diaphragm which is located in the lower region is pressed by the lungs making it move downward. This is also the reason why your stomach inflates in outward direction whenever you inhale which is regarded as the correct breathing technique in achieving a good professional singing posture.

On the other hand, in head positioning technique, you should keep your head in a straight position allowing your chin to be parallel to the floor in singing. Once you sing with your head in a tilting manner going downward or upward, there will be an immediate change in the sound coming from your mouth. Therefore, the sound that you produce becomes powerful and natural when your chin and head are in parallel position to the ground.

In learning how to sing Alto, it’s important for you to know its meaning and its significance to the world of music. In Latin, Alto means high ‘though it may have other possible interpretations in other languages. In terms of using specific instruments, alto belongs to a group of instruments that is known to be one of the highest ranges second to soprano or treble such as the term alto saxophone for example.

In other groups of instruments like the trombone, soprano is not present. Alto is considered the highest, ‘though it is not found in the standard contemporary symphony orchestra. As far as choral music is concerned, alto refers to the 2nd highest part of the voice in a 4-part chorus. Apart from its meaning of high in the Italian language, it also refers to contratenor altus a Latin phrase which is identified to the medieval polyphony.

In learning how to sing Alto, this term describes the highest of 3 parts with the line in counterpoint which also means against or contra. This word comes from the Latin verb tenere which means to hold. In choral music, alto ranges from G3, with G beneath the mid C to F5 with F rested in the 2nd octave on top of mid C. In ordinary use, alto describes the type of voice that sings this part. Alto and 3 other standard contemporary choral voice groups namely, soprano, bass and tenor, describe a portion within the polyphonic or homophonic texture instead of individual voice type.

Alto and contralto are often considered as similar to each other, but in actual, they are not related or interchangeable. Some lady singers in a choir who know how to sing Alto are actually contraltos, but they should be called mezzo-sopranos to be more accurate. On the other hand, a lot of male singers are countertenors who use falsetto voice, and they should be more accurately called male alto. Having a contralto voice is something related to vocal tessitura and vocal timbre along with range.

A solo contralto performer who is classically-trained how to sing Alto
usually has a higher range compared to an ordinary choral alto in lower and upper ranges. But the vocal tessitura of this classically-trained contralto could make him sing more comfortable at the lower part of his voice. In singing, a choral contralto may possess a low range of D3, but there are also singers who encounter difficulty in singing beyond E5. With regard to a choral context, contraltos and mezzo-sopranos may be able to sing the alto part along with countertenors which results in having 3 timbres to sing the same notes.

It is very rare that Alto is used in describing a solo voice, but there are a lot of terms which are commonly used in different cultures and in a great number of languages for solo singers having this range. This includes contralto, tenor altino, haute-contre and countertenor among others. In learning how to sing Alto, it would be a great advantage if you know its meaning and how it is attained in singing.

Nowadays, many people are becoming interested in learning speech level singing which was made popular by Seth Riggs. This new concept in singing is involved in developing the inner muscles found in your larynx in order to come up with vocal tone. In Speech Level Singing or SLS method, singing can be made comfortable and natural just like in speaking. It’s not so long since this technique has been launched and now, a lot of singers are taking it by storm.

You could have heard people telling beginners that singing is not for them, or they need to have classical training in order to succeed in singing. You could have also known that some singers get frustrated after their vocal teacher has told them that they have to give more support, they have to increase their soft palate, or they need to bring the sound closer. Are you familiar with this lingo? If not, then, you could have been in a confusing situation being unaware of what they’re talking about.

But these things are part of the past. Now, there is the so-called SLS technique ( Speech Level Singing) that you can depend on. Your voice in singing will be of high quality after training with this new learning speech level singing technique. More frequently, singers are using outer throat muscles in order to improve their vocal range, and make their singing more powerful. However, this habit is not favorable because the growth of outer muscle leads to voice restriction instead of vocal freedom.

The usual consequence of this method is that tension is increased as these singers try to reach higher vocal registers, words become unclear, and singing becomes unpleasant because of shouting the words. This is not only something frustrating; this is also hazardous for your throat. If you sing in this manner for a long time, you can be afflicted with sore throat, and in worst cases, a nodule or cyst might develop in your vocal cord tissue.

Learning speech level singing tries to solve this problem by enabling the inner muscles of your larynx develop, and remove all unnecessary tension from your voice. Since the inner muscles of your throat and larynx work in regulating some essential elements of the body like cord closure and air flow, practicing these muscles will enable you to sing freely and a lot easier. With this type of training, your larynx will be controlled against the inner throat muscles so that while you’re singing in the entire range, the larynx will remain neutral and rested.

You may be asking how effective learning speech level singing method is. Well, this training utilizes special vocal exercises that separate the outer muscles in your larynx, and push you to develop your inner muscles of the larynx. When you have built these inner muscles, then, air flow, resonance and tone will come next automatically. When these muscles start to build-up, you can expect an increase in your vocal range. Then, your vocal consistency will exist naturally and easily after learning speech level singing techniques.
