Bankruptcy is not Bad

2022-01-03T10:08:00.002-08:00

It is a tricky situation when we hit the rock bottom of filing chapter 11. Most people think filing bankruptcy is bad, it is not bad. it is the realization that the situation is bad and recognizing it, putting a plan for recovery.

“It Ain’t About How Hard You Hit. It’s About How Hard You Can Get Hit And Keep Moving Forward.”

With this said let's roll ... there are a lot of websites that give some suggestions on how to recover, please read all of them, only follow the reliable ones. There are a lot of scavengers on the internet who feed off the bad situation and keep your situation bad even though when the promise is the recovery. So CAUTION is needed while navigating these waters.

Let us talk more in the coming posts on what we could do to move forward financially and flourish.

Happy New Year

Robinhood ... some thing new in stock trading ...

2014-02-28T08:35:00.000-08:00

Hi Guys ...

Did you hear about "Robinhood" .. This is an mobile platform where you can handle your trading needs ... Looks interesting to me ... and if you have a chance look at the history of the company too .. its interesting .. and it is another company funded by Google .. Yaa i know what u guys are thinking .. Another company in Google's portfolio ....

But .. think about this ... Google has a lot of information and the analytic power of Google .. makes it the super power of data analysis ... If i am thinking right with the strength and right mindset Google can play a much bigger role in understanding the market and influencing the market.

What they "Claim"

Say goodbye to trading commissions- And hello to the future of trading

Robinhood started with the idea that a technology-driven brokerage could operate with significantly less overhead. We cut out the fat that makes other brokerages costly — hundreds of storefront locations and manual account management. Zero-dollar commissions are available for self-directed individual or joint cash brokerage accounts that trade listed and OTC equity securities via web or mobile devices. See our Commission and Fee Schedule for more details.

Side Effects of Reverse Engineering

2013-08-12T21:11:00.000-07:00

On the initial note ... Do you know what is reverse engineering ... Reverse engineering in simple words " re creating the product's design plan and production plan from the product itself. This kind of inquiry engages individuals in a constructive learning process about the operation of systems and products. Reverse engineering as a method is not confined to any particular purpose, but is often an important part of the scientific method and technological development. The process of taking something apart and revealing the way in which it works is often an effective way to learn how to build a technology or make improvements to it.

Lot of companies do reverse engineering of competitors products to create a cutting edge innovation in their own product. This actually is in some way stealing the innovation and unique product some one came up earlier. This engineering process involves taking apart a device to see how it works. For example, if a laptop manufacturer wants to see how a competitor's processor works, they can purchase the competition laptop, disassemble it, and then make a processor similar to it. However, this process is illegal in many countries.

Another type of reverse engineering involves producing 3-D images of manufactured parts when a blueprint is not available in order to produce the part. To reverse engineer a part, the part is measured by manual methods or in advanced cases coordinate measuring machine is employed. Any part can be reverse engineered using these methods, provided the technology is known.

The term forward engineering is sometimes used in contrast to reverse engineering. Recently a Apple and Samsung were in a series of lawsuits ... on a simple glance it is a side effect of reverse engineering.

On a Wiki's Page .. "Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was the first of a series of ongoing lawsuits between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics regarding the design of smartphones and tablet computers; between them, the companies made more than half of smartphones sold worldwide as of July 2012.[1] In the spring of 2011, Apple began litigating against Samsung in patent infringement suits, while Apple and Motorola Mobility were already engaged in a patent war on several fronts.[2] Apple's multinational litigation over technology patents became known as part of the mobile device patent wars: extensive litigation in fierce competition in the global market for consumer mobile communications.[3] By August 2011, Apple and Samsung were litigating 19 ongoing cases in nine countries; by October, the legal disputes expanded to ten countries.[4][5] By July 2012, the two companies were still embroiled in more than 50 lawsuits around the globe, with billions of dollars in damages claimed between them.[6] " (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Inc._v._Samsung_Electronics_Co.,_Ltd.)

Ok ... now the benefit of reverse engineering technique...

So ... it all depends who uses it and How its being used .... So engineers while reverse engineering be a little bit careful and ethical...

Changes in Making things ! - Part 2

2013-04-14T16:10:00.003-07:00

In my previous post "Changes in Making things !" i talked about the evolution of manufacturing and why the evolution happened. In this post i thought of writing about the current trends in manufacturing and also the future... The current trend: Manufacturing systems concentrate on least resources and best output. “Lean manufacturing” is a leading manufacturing paradigm being applied in many sectors of the world, where improving product quality, reducing production costs, and being “first to market” and quick to respond to customer needs are critical to competitiveness and success.

Other than Lean, there are a lot of other systems ranging from flexible manufacturing, outsourcing, OEM – Branding relations (like Nike). The difficulties that companies face in today’s marketplace are fierce: shifting customer demand, increasing variation in products and demands for perfect quality. Lean principles and methods focus on creating a continual improvement culture that engages employees in reducing the intensity of time, materials, and capital necessary for meeting a customer’s needs. While lean production’s fundamental focus is on the systematic elimination of non-value added activity and waste from the production process, the implementation of lean principles and methods also results in improved customer satisfaction and probability of success in businesses.

The improvements are patterned by

1. Continual improvement culture focused on identifying and eliminating waste

2. Design for manufacturing

3. Communication advancements

4. IT / Computation capability advancements

5. Value addition

6. Employee involvement in continual improvement and problem-solving

7. Operations-based focus of activity and involvement

8. Supply chain investment

Next page in Manufacturing

Currently the industries are facing crisis of Manpower shortage, Raw material shortage – costly raw materials, Non stabilized value for crude oil, Day by day increase in cost of transportation and mainly Environmental concerns

These individually or collectively at different levels of impact will trigger the next stage of evolution of the system. Localized Manufacturing: Localized manufacturing of all the accessories that needs to be assembled to make the desired good is manufactured at the source of demand. This is can be triggered by fuel cost, supply chain inability and advantage of inland production technologies and control over the processing. Batch size of 1: The kind of manufacturing where a pull system is employed and the economics of scales are achievable by batch sizes of 1. This can be achieved by advancement of lean and it becomes a standard of operation across the vendors till the source of the raw material. 3D Printing: The production of goods, similar to the prototyping the models for research is implemented. The advancement of agile manufacturing can be achieved by 3D printing. There may be issues of strength and durability, but not all parts can be 3D printed. Most of the complicated structures and seamless equipments are a major part of the whole manufacturing assemblies. Raw Material from Recycling: The availability of scrap and used material of all categories are found on all the places of the planet. Leaving that and searching for new sources of ore to make billets and start manufacturing processes impacts on large volume of carbon footprint. Production of scale can be achieved in production of the powdered raw material for 3D printing. 3D Printing – Binder: Binders which are used now days are for ABB and other synthetic material. The binding strengths should evolve.

Combining all the above said transformation will lead to

Less carbon foot print / production volume
Raw material produced from scrap
Power needed for 3D printing technology will be less than the current systems

The flowchart explains the process involving all the technologies talked about

I would like an open discussion. I am just expecting this change in near future. We will wait and see how the manufacturing world changes to the current issues faced.

I wrote this article in 2010, the current trends and this posting from wired.co.uk tempted me to put up my thoughts (though old ..) have a look you might be convinced.

Changes in Making things !

2013-04-03T15:43:00.002-07:00

The way we made things kept evolving through 200,000 BC till today, and will begoing on and on. We all know that things started changing rapidly; eventually manufacturing must also catch up with the ever changing world. Here are some trends and pattern of evolution of manufacturing systems. The evolution of each stage of manufacturing was fueled by different things happening to the world as the whole.

The manufacturing goals, perspectives and target customers are now at a different pace to that which existed several years ago. The pace of change has been fast and the near future will also be completely different compared to present situation. Social, political, technological, scientific, and economic are a few of the triggers and sources of changes to manufacturing. All organizations have experienced the effects of change, but it seems likely that more significant changes are yet to come. Many successful businesses understand customer needs, they develop product to meet customer needs, and they bring product to the market quickly. These successful businesses are able to convince users that their product will improve their productivity, quality and profitability. Businesses should not only be ready for change, they must be adaptable and flexible, striving for continuous improvements.

The manufacturing started from the revolutionizing stone-age tools. This happened around 200,0000 BC. Later the metallurgy triggered the usage of metal tools starting from copper through bronze and other alloys. This age was termed as Bronze Age, 2100 BC.

Triggers for Manufacturing / Industrial Revolution

Later technological advancements of the earlier twentieth century involved improvements in mass production through the application of technologies developed and utilized during World War II. After the WWII the concentration on recourse availability was increased, which lead to the evolution of LEAN systems (Toyota Production).

Ownership of Industries

“Economics of Sizes”: As the volume of production and purchase increases the advantage of production. This fueled the transformation of enterprise ownership.

Fuel triggered evolution of transportation system, which in-turn triggered supply chain, fueling globalization.

The next posting will be about some thing i think will be the next stage of manufacturing ...

The Shiva Lingam

2013-02-16T05:47:00.002-08:00

Hello Folks, This week is a great week ... Great is really under rated for the things that happened this week, The people who know me know how my life is spinning ...

Just wanted to Thank God ... & wishing for pure Happiness, Prosperity & Respect...

Ok Guys... In this occasion of my happiness i thought of dedicating this blog post to spread a thought of Shiva ... the lord i love most ...

The "Shiva Lingam" at Lepakshi , AP, India Snap By : Niranj Vaidyanathan

Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of Linga. The symbolic representation of Lord Shiva as Linga dates back around Harappa & Mohanjadaro civilization (Indus valley civilization) as of historians and scientists. I personally believe that its origin is even before that period of time.

In the Book, Linga Purana, States "The foremost, Lingam which is primary, and is devoid of smell, colour, taste, hearing, etc., is spoken of as a representation of Nature."

Linga means mark in Sanskrit. When you see a big flood in a river, you infer that there should have been heavy rains the previous day. When you see smoke, you infer that there is fire. Similarly Lingam symbolizes this world of countless forms of the Omnipotent Lord. The Siva Lingam is a symbol of Lord Siva. When you look at the Lingam, your mind gets elevated and you ll begin to think of the Lord.

There is a divine power in the Lingam, to induce concentration of the mind. Just as the mind is focused easily in crystal gazing, the mind of a devotee is easily concentrated when he looks at the Lingam. That is the reason why the ancient Rishis (saints) of India and the seers have prescribed Lingam for being installed in the temples of Siva. Its beyond religion, any one who saw a well maintained shiva lingam will always have an effect of his divinity on his mind, it dosent need the brain and knowledge of shiva or religion. Siva Lingam speaks to you in the unmistakable language of silence: ‘I am one without form.’ Pure, pious souls only can understand this language.

For a sincere devotee, the Lingam is not a block of stone. It is all radiant consciousness. The Lingam makes me shed tears, melting of heart, raises me above bodily consciousness, and helps me to sync with the Lord.

What a great mystic power of the Lingam!

Practical Difficulties ... :(

2012-12-24T15:28:00.001-08:00

Practical difficulties ... There are lot of situations were there are tons of practical difficulties. Has any one came across this kind of things.

I ll share some with you guys here.. I can't do a few... that's due to the same practical difficulty .. a paradox :(

When we are watching a movie, the hero with a revolver killing all of the bad guys having all kinds of semi automatic, fully automatic assault rifles without time to reload. Shooting the guy with a sniper before he spots him ... defy gravity ... officially giving a statement "f*ck physics" ... OK guys a lot of these heroes have die hard fans, i agree that they are just doing it for entertainment... i don't blame you guys

Next one is government employees and their million forms to confirm that its me, i am born already, i am not dead and what not .. :( .. what to do ... we have to obey the system (since its the stronger one)

Political issues inside the work place... I know where the issue is .. a lot of key guys also know that root cause of the issue. But they fear that the system may collapse if the root is directly or abruptly dealt with.

Now a days i am getting into trouble just by expressing what i feel .. i have to hide myself into something else ... I some time smile to hide my anger .. some times laughs to hide tears .. but truth is stronger ... it surfaces most of the times ... now a days my emotions are getting stronger than me ... i was like this while i was a kid .. I have the fear of loosing what i think is more important .. i don't want my emotion to be against me

I wanna become strong again ... Please God Make me Stronger

53000 Years Wait !

2012-07-07T21:35:00.003-07:00

Howdy .... Long time ... Hows things ...

This trip we will travel across to Texas... a Place Near Waco ... where i saw a herd of mammoths. But u guys know what .. it was a little late when i saw them. They were waiting a little long for me to come and see them. They almost became fossilized. Ya ya .. i get it ... i was late by 53000 years.

I saw this at the place i went today ..

There was a serious business was also going on there.. u could get anything ... literally ... he he ... Poop ... Dino Poop ...

The mammoths were in a heard when they were all buried alive. And the kid mammoths were in inner circle with all momma mammoths were in the outer circle, they were being protected from something that happened when the whole heard was buried. That was a scary thought ... i believe that moms can do that for us.

Here is the fossilized guys ... He is about 40 when he was put down. See his tusks... they are loooooong ...

Here is a teen girl mammoth....

Head, Ribs and a Tooth ... that tooth was about 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft ... that makes a big mouth guys...

See the full size painting ... a 5 ft girl was standing by it ...

Ok Guys ... Catch u in the next post ...

Be good and Try doing some good till then.

Ramayana Vs Mahabharatha

2012-02-26T11:17:00.001-08:00

M Vs R

This posting is a tug'o war between Ramayana and Mahabharatha ... I am not so good at this but to my knowledge (i am sorry if i am wrong ) I am gonna talk for both the sides and leave the rest to the readers ... " considering Mahabaratham as more important than ramayanam is right or wrong? " ....

In Ramayana ... The god is born as human ... And he says a lot about perseverance ... I shows how hard u should try for your goals ... Follow your heart ... And doing so all the forces of nature will come in a queue to help u in achieving ur goals. In simple words .... Standardized way of living is described in Ramayanam

The sacred Bhagavat Gita is a part of Mahabharata

Yatha yatha hi dharmasya Glanir bhavathi baratha Abyukthaanam adharmasyaa Thadhasthaanam srujamyaham Pavithraanaya saadhuunam Vinaasayaa chatruskruthaam Dharmasamsthaapanaasthaaya Shambhavaami_yugee yugeee !

This says that u have to do what u hav to ... If its based on Dharma ( truth) just do it ... Its me doing it and if it's not u some one else will be doing it .. So better do it ...

Ramayana happened before Mahabharata. Problems of missing links in Ramayana was rectified in Mahabharata so it looked better. Since it came 1st it should have been the best one. First of its kind ...

But Ramayana says that god had suspected his lovely wife... !!! i dont think this is a good thing to say to the followers ... ?

Krishna used many illegal ways to defeat the enemies... what can we say for that ... can u guys oppose this ?

Both the books were targeted against different audience ... so we cannot use same scale to compare them ... As people usually say "dont compare apple with oranges". The purpose of Ramayana was different from Mahabharata, Personally i dont know the purpose of both of them... but the spiritual leaders know there is some key ... to the real origin lies in both the manuscripts.

Both are different and Both are equally important

I Apologize... if i am wrong

Believe ...

2012-01-15T07:16:00.000-08:00

Believe in what you want ... Ask what you want... there is something above us which will help us in accomplish it ... but beware of what you wish for... it will be here ...

I heard this today morning on TV, a guy was saying that ... ya ya ... it was a preacher ... but he said only part of it... " Believe in what you want " ... But really ... if any of us ask something .... and believe that we will get it ... even if there are no signs of things happening .... just believe .. do what needs to be done .... things will happen .... the whole universe will come together ... bring things into place .... believe in this power ...

I would always give you a warning ... this is really powerful .... really really ... !! So be careful on what you ask for... u will get what you ask for ... just ASK WHAT YOU WANT AND HANDLE SUCCESSFULLY ....

The next week is for Toyota Yaris 2011 ... I ll add my experience this week end :) this car just has 307 miles on its odometer .... cooool is int it... Though all of these are not my cars ... National rentals rock .. :P

By the by ... Hows my photography ... (only this pic .. all others are taken from web .. :) )

Next car ... I ll try on a Chrysler :) ..

Expectations from 1925 !

2011-09-03T09:12:00.000-07:00

Hi my readers... this is one of the pages from the popular "Popular Science" magazine. This is dates Aug 1925 and .. the reason i posted is ... u ll understand while seeing it..

here is a solution for traffic congestion, lack of living place and population explosion.... The only thing missing in the puzzle is food / agri farms and production facility.

Post your ideas on the missing links..

Food from ... anywhere ... !!!

2011-07-04T16:59:00.000-07:00

Hi All ... I was thinking about the meaning of sustainability... The primary sustainability a community should achieve is ... to remove its dependency on energy.... it obviously includes food.. 'energy source for living beings' ... what do u say guys... have a look at this urban agri project..

Hope... I feel this will revive agriculture and reduce the dependency on fuel to bring food to places we need them!

Food From Sky !!!

2011-06-16T15:08:00.000-07:00

Hey Everyone... Do u think food falls from sky ! ... I dont think so...
But a few folks think it can come from sky scrapers ... Have a look !

Agriculture is similar to Humans... we tried to occupy all the land horizontally ... which was one day not enough and started growing the sky scrapers ... now its time for the plants to come on to the sky scrapers ...

Ah this is Green Building ... sustainability in its primary stages .. i think i will become an agriculturist soon... cool isn't it.. !

100 years Back :)

2011-05-21T17:31:00.000-07:00

100 years back ... What might be the people expected about 2010 ... I found a collection of drawings about it ... I hope it was about early 1900 from UK ... because of the cop's attire and gramophone's presence on those paintings ...

I hope this is an audio library ...

This is their expectation of trains

Video conference...

Did we do what we are expected to do ??? :D .... hope we did ... i ll add a few more of them i thought you might also have a look and let me know if we achieved them ...

Flying Squad

Common transit ...

Self Makeup and Pediacure

Hope u enjoyed what i enjoyed .. :)

WAR on Priorities ...

2011-04-30T21:52:00.000-07:00

"Never go to War .... " hey hey ... don't think i became a philanthropist... let me complete ... " Never go to war... Especially with yourself ..."

This is a weird statement, i felt the same way u feel when i heard it for the first time, which eventually became sensible. A few of you might know this already ... Yes i heard it from the movie "Lord of war" ... mm an interesting movie... Chal ... I am not going to discuss about the movie or the plot here cos there are other places to do them...

If some one thinks and feels that he or she is born for it and still love to do anything for getting their hands on it... thats priority .... and this priority becomes a part of their own biology ... and thats the only thing in the world they themselves shouldn't go to war at ... Its not that you cannot win the war... but the losses will be huge .. If you expect to conquer something by that war, i guess u will loose yourself winning that war. So why to hate something which was your priority just because of something else became more important. I have seen and heard of some victorious wars, which was on the just waged because of their friends, family (both existing and to be), society and sometimes money and sometimes power. These things made me think ... if he can wage that war ... he has priorities which tends to evolve... If at all that was a previous priority or a dead priority it comes back from its roots deep inside yourself... Then it wins u back, kicking u back to square one of your war.. dare to wage the war again .... :)

You can have priorities which are totally controversial ... but shouldn't be controversial with your other priorities... And i like to remind you again ... Don't go to war ... against yourself.

Life is like Coffee ( Short Film )

2011-03-28T07:52:00.000-07:00

This is a spam message came to me... hope everyone will enjoy ... click the link and enjoy the short movie...

Life is like Coffee Movie: "Do you know people that just seem to be happier in general? Do you say to yourself, "I want to be more like them"? Often, the happiest people in the world don’t have the best of everything...they just make the best of everything!"

What does history mean to 'YOU' .. Recently i was thinking about the term 'History' ... i asked a few people... some websites.....

My friend's grandma said about 5 generations before her ... and she was discussing their greatness and plunders. She was predicting that a cycle of 7 generations will have all status and categories of people in a single family. To be more specific, the same family will be honored / respected and treated like kings once in the 7 generations. In another one they will be almost cared to nothing. She was not clear of the number of kids at each level of family tree, but she knew about 3 generations before her and 2 generations after her which ranged for about 300 years or even more. We could even say she was a walking historical reference for the period from around 1700 till now . I believe her hypothesis which is ' there will be a top class generation will then degrade gradually and become insignificant and then grow from there to the most powerfully known and this happens in 7 generations' .. She said before that was history for her .. :) ...

I was reading a blog about Chinese history ... One of the historian was asked about the English invasions and colonies.. he said it was too early to discuss about the consequences of their invasion... !!! He was backing with some events which were related to events relevant to the first trade route, which was used during 206 BC – 220 BC (Silk route .. i am not sure about the years .. may be built during this 14 yrs). I couldn't even guess what his meaning for the term History meant for him ... :P

And during Bush administration america was having many treaties with other countries. America - Japan relations were strong now during the Iraq reconstruction, Japanese troops were working side by side with the American troops, who apparently nuked 2 of their most prosperous cities just 65 years back in WW2 ... :-O

Sooo... Is 'History' relative... i guess so...
