WWE Raw February 25 2013 Review

I finally stopped listening to other people’s opinion on wrestling and instead decided to just watch it for myself, without reading any new or anything else. My favorite moments from this week’s raw are probably not going to be what you liked, but hey, we’re all different. If you want results, read them somewhere else.

Here are my favorite Raw moments from February 25, 2013.

Triple H fighting Brock Lesnar was awesome, and the two can really brawl. I absolutely loved the way it all worked out and the blood that Lesnar had was also impressive. If you missed it, than you missed something great. Paul Heyman and Mr McMahon fought a little but the end result was rad.

CM Punk calling himself god was awesome. I loved it.

Dolph Ziggler and Ryback definitely put on one of my favorite matches in 2013. I loved the way things worked and Ziggler is ready to be the main event, the big time. Someone give him a title shot. Seriously, give him a title shot already!

John Cena and Cm Punk put on a classic wrestling match. I absolutely was thrilled with the way the pacing worked, the shots that were made, and the great Cena moves that were definitely showstoppers. Punk fought hard and he didn’t win, but wow, Cena earned this one in impressive fashion. I truly believe that John Cena is truly deserving the of the WrestleMania spot after this. However, I did not agree that Punk should’ve lost. I wanted him to go to the final third round at Mania, but oh well. I hope Punk gets a shot at Taker’s streak or something important.

WWE Raw was completely sold out this week in Texas and was impressive to say the least. I loved it, you probably liked it, enjoy it.

3 Reasons Why I Hate The Rock’s Return

I have been a little quiet lately because I haven’t had a lot of time to update this blog. I write 30 articles a day for a variety of clients and at the end of my 8-hour shifts, I don’t have time to watch any wrestling, even though I wanted to. I wasn’t too upset that CM Punk dropped the belt to the Rock at the Royal Rumble, it was a fun match and it really had me entertained. It was the first pay per view that I had ordered in years and was glad that I could pay for it out right. However, I did notice that there are several things that I didn’t like about the return of the Crock….er I mean the Rock.

3 Things I Hate About The Rock

He Doesn’t Wrestle That Much – First and foremost, you will have to look at Chris Jericho. Jericho returned to a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble match and nearly won it all. The next night on Raw he wrestled, than he wrestled throughout the week and even though this week, which is more than Rock has done since his 1 match. He’s had more matches back than the WWE champion CROCK! He doesn’t just go out and talk he goes into the ring and puts on entertaining matches. One might argue that Punk didn’t wrestle that much, but before his injury he was wrestling every week, putting on instant classics, and even in the new year he wrestled Ryback in an awesome ladder match. Simply put, Rock doesn’t wrestle for free, he jokes around and looks like a horses ass.

He’s Yesterday’s News – Cena was right, Rock doesn’t care about the people nor does he care about the wrestling world. He left, he even didn’t want to be called “THE ROCK” at first, and now he all of a sudden wants to come back? Not only that, he topples Cena at WrestleMania, and now he’s the champion, that makes no sense. What a crock. He hasn’t shown that he cares at all and it is exhibited in the way he puts on boring segments that are NOT wrestling on a wrestling show.

The Rock is overrated – There, I said it. Much like I have said many times that The Undertaker’s streak is overrated, the Rock is overrated. He hasn’t had a quality match in ages and in fact, I don’t remember one solitary entertaining match that the rock had without Steve Austin in the main event. That’s right.

Maybe I’m being a little too harsh on the guy, but I have yet to be entertained by him in his latest run. If you like him, awesome, I don’t. I believe that Punk should get his revenge, Rock should get fed to Taker and Taker should walk away happy. Good riddance.

Instead of posting the results, which you already know, this blog will be an ongoing free form discussion on what I remember from Raw last night, and will not be discussing things I didn’t remember or enjoyed.

Team Hell No vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

I love how Cody Rhodes is younger than me and more successful. It’s an odd thing to realize but man, I’m old. The match was good, and it shows that the WWE can in fact still have a good overall tag team division, but with only a handful of teams being pushed constantly, I don’t think that there needs to be tag titles any longer. They need to introduce way more tag teams or else this is all for not.

Ziggler vs. John Cena

John Cena is a beast, and he sure can wrestle. When he is put in the ring with someone good like Ziggler, Cena shines. He brings a better game than he brought against the Rock last year and it’s evidenced by this great overall Raw match. I didn’t like the ending, as I do not believe Cena needs the win here. Ziggler needed the win with his new bodyguard to further cement that he is going to get a title run with the help of the bodyguard, who then turns on him at the moment he wants to go for the title himself.

Cm Punk vs Rybak in a TLC Match

Anyone who isn’t sold on Rybak needs to reexamine why they love professional wrestling. This match was balls out awesome, and everything that the two competitors did I was cheering for. I was split between the two guys, and I was cheering for Punk’s loss, but could see why Rybak wasn’t going to get the belt. I haven’t seen a stiff competitor for the crown like this in a while so I’m glad this match happened.

I could see Rybak forcing the pin fall at Rumble to go to the Rock or even the Shield screwing Rock over, but for all intents and purposes CM Punk vs Rybak stole the show for me.

Punk and Rock talking a lot

This bored me. I don’t care. This reminded me of the south park parody about wrestling where they just talk and barely wrestled. Lame. The Rock was never my favorite, and I still stand by my prediction, Taker vs Rock main event…right? Right? Anyone?

The Rock to Wrestle Undertaker

This is being posted hours before Raw goes live and I’m calling it right now. Forget Cm Punk, forget everyone else. There is one person that The Rock has yet to defeat at WrestleMania and the Undertaker has yet to take on one man that has eluded him until now and that’s THE ROCK!

The Rock doesn’t need the title, he doesn’t need to wrestle John Cena, and he doesn’t need to feud with CM Punk, he needs the Undertaker, or rather The Undertaker needs him! Imagine the dead man versus the Rock at Mania?

That’s the way that Undertaker can solidify his overblown and over rated streak.

That’s right, I said it’s overrated.

I have no basis for this, but I would much rather see Undertaker wrestle The Rock than anyone else, except for STING!

If I am write, make sure you tell all the smart wrestling fans, all the smarks, and everyone podcasting that I, sir Jorge stated this first!

If I'm wrong, oh well.

I am 100% freelance and a writer and cannot maintain the schedule that this site needs. I don't have cable and rely on hulu and youtube, and just don't want to spend my life on this site without getting any compensation.

WWE Main Event 1/3/13 Review

Wade Barrett continued to look strong even though he lost the final match up in this gauntlet. It looks as though he will still feud with Kofi Kingston for the intercontinental championship, which is a good thing. I'd like to see more variety in the WWE so maybe this will help. The gauntlet was fine, but it was the first match that stole the show.

Great Khali is not known for great matches, he's known for being slow and large. However, int this one he looked like a million bucks and it wasn't all Cesaro it was the both of them putting together a decent match. The ending was fabulous, and if ou missed it, well you definitely missed something special. Cesaro lifted Khali for his finisher and boom, once again retains the title.

Now that's wrestling folks.

WWE Monday Night Raw 12/31/12 Review

The last Raw of 2012 was shown last night and it was quite interesting to say the least. There were some rough spots, but there were some great moments if you managed to see the whole thing.

The first thing that fans were treated to was MIZTV with John Cena only to get interrupted by Team Rhodes Scholars and that set up the night of wrestling. It was an interesting start and Miz is starting to possibly pull the fans a little.

The talking points were not that great, and I didn't like a lot of it. Mae Young showed up, some throwback moments were mentioned and well amidst a New Year's party the matches were set and random things happened.

CM Punk vs Rock Set Up Begins

Vince McMahon came out and stopped Punk's talking, and while Punk got to verbally berate the CEO or whatever his position is now, and it was nice to set up. The move would create an interesting match for the night and next week. Ryback will fight Cm Punk in a TLC match next week which is going to be an amazing night of wrestling. That's the big thing, especially since the Rock is going to be on the show.

Will the Rock interfere in the match? I think we might see something interesting develop. Or will the Shield attack Rock? That's for next week.

Match Commentary

Antonio Cesaro put a serious hurting on Sgt. Slaughter which was cool to see, even though Cesaro is wavering with the fans at this point.

Cena and Miz in a tag team was actually over which was nice. I didn't think the match was that great, but I was impressed with Cena. He has more moves than the last time I seriously watched him wrestle.

The tag title match was not half bad with 3MB getting a shot at the dysfunctional team. The match was ok, and I like the way 3MB is booked to be hated.

Sheamus was a great opponent for Dolph Ziggler and it showed. I thought the match was a great example of how Ziggler and Sheamus are defintielty theh future of the company in many ways. I'm interest in seeing here Big E. Langston is going to do in the future. The Shield stop the finish, and they still seem cool to me, like the NWO.

Big Slow bored me.

The Match of the NIGHT!

Wade Barrett and Kofi put on a great showcase of wrestling. The two fought a good overall match and Barrett finally showed me something great. His losing streak in the latter of 2012 was done, and Kofi looked to bring out the best in the brawler, but it was Barrett's night with a good overall match up. Barrett is the NEW Intercontinental Champion!

WWE Monday Night Raw Review

I've been working really hard lately, and for those 2 readers out there that still follow this blog I'm sorry to let you down. I am a freelance writer so if I don't write for others I don't get to pay my rent. I finally had time to settle down and write a review about wrestling.

The night saw a lot of great things, well only a few great things and a lot of garbage.

Ric Flair returned and got into a scuffle with CM Punk which prompted a great deal of fan reaction, the Shield came out to beat him up, and I was wondering why JBL didn't jump in and help. Flair has to come back and beat the crap out of the Shield, I'd pay money to see that, but something tells me that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Tommy Dreamer showed up and his team up with The Miz and Alberto Del Rio mopped up 3MB which was awesome! I loved seeing that mess.

The rest of the night was ok, and the story lines continue to be the same old rubbish.

Sorry to cut this short, I have to get back to work.

WWE Monday Night Raw 12/3/12 Review

I was finally able to sit down and watch some Raw while I ate a quesadilla for breakfast. That’s a step up from my usual breakfast of 3 cups of coffee and nothing else. The show is now on HULU for those of you that don’t have cable, which is awesome.

The show was ok, there were some highlights, and if you ask me, it wasn’t a terrible show. However, I did find out that CM PUNK is having emergency knee surgery and could be dropping the title as a result! Yep.

I’m not a news guy, so I won’t bug you with those details.

Best Match

The Fatal Fourway for the United States championship blew me away. For a television match, they really did put on a good show, and you would truly believe that each competitor had a good shot of winning the matchup. I especially liked the finish, even though most people aren’t liking Cesaro that much.

Worst Match

Divas. Word on the street is that there will be no more “divas” division once Triple H takes over completely.

Weird Moment

The Miz came out and turned face in a very awkward moment. Punk and Heyman surely did their best to make it more poignant, and the crowd even started chanting Walrus at one point.

I’ve read that Miz and Punk do NOT like each other in the backstage area, so it will see if this matchup of two guys will mesh. As for Punk, his surgery might keep him out, who knows.

The rest of the show was solid, I have no major complaints this week. I was able to enjoy it, and that’s what matters most about wrestling. The day I don’t enjoy anything, I’ll stop doing this site completely.

WWE Raw Review 11/26/2012

Once again Raw was live and for those of us without Cable we had to wait 24 hours for it to appear on Hulu Plus. It's awesome! Anyways, the show went off with some moments of cool and a lot of filler even if the shortened 90 minute version left out some things.

I for one can't believe how bad things are getting in the WWE. The matches are ok at best, but they are wasting a lot of talent and are moving slowly across several levels.

My favorite things throughout the night were definitely The Shield helping Punk and then saying that they aren't working for punk, only to be on his side later in the night.

Outside of some cool matches between Ryback and Titus O'Neil, Mysterio and Bryan and some highlight spots here and there, the show just seemed tired.

The utter most bad stuff is the Aj and Cena stuff, what a waste of time.

Punk vs Ryback for the title is going to be awesome at the TLC ppv, but I do not have the money to buy it...sigh.

Raw was ok at best, if you liked it, let me know why. As for me, the show just seemed to slowly wind down to boredom. I'll admit though, there were some good matches, not great, but good, maybe because I got to see them without having to pay Time Warner $200! Yeah BOY!

WWE Survivor Series 2012 Review (Sort of )

Well, well, the much hyped big event came through yesterday and all of us suckers that paid 40 some odd dollars because the build up was looking to be an outstanding thing, actually ended up being dumbfounded by yet another bad ppv, with the exception of the final match which featured some surprised and some overall good wrestling, even though some said Ryback wasn’t all that great.

The best Match: Main Event

Ryback and Cena ganging up on Punk was cool, but Punk getting help from former Nexus members was even better, and that’s how this match turned out. Punk once again retains but not without getting both Cena and Ryback to fight each other and make this a fair and even balanced match up. It did manage to get slowly started, but in the end the frenetic pace of finishers and counters really made it worthwhile. I thought for sure Ryback was going to get the push, but nope, not this time.

The Worst Match: Big Show vs. Sheamus

I’m sick of seeing the BIG SLOW he’s the worst wrestler at this point. Oh well. Sheamus is not gaining any traction in my book, but alas, it’s better than nothing, I guess.

The rest of the card wasn’t any better, but at least we have Raw to look forward to tonight, right? Oh who cares.

Oh, not to crap on the whole event, there were some shining lights here and there, it’s just rough when you get fed the same old move set and wrestlers facing each other, week in and week out.

I don't have much of a review. I didn't get to see all of raw because my dvr was acting up. What I did see was the same repetitive, stupid and boring wrestling.

There is nothing worth noting on this night, it's the same old bs. THe same matches, the same results, ugh...I'm so sick of the same match ups over and over and over again.

WWE Raw Review of Sorts 5/5/12

Raw was not at all what I thought it would be. It was filled with story lines and boring matches that really didn't do anything but fuel my disdain for the current product. I thought for a while, a few weeks ago, that the WWE could possibly be exciting one more time, but it seems to be a boring world of sorts. There's so many wrestlers and so many convoluted story lines that I'm not sure which ones I should truly care about and which ones I should let go.

The Worst of RAW

There is so much that sucked on Raw that I don't know what I should call the worst. I'll call out 1/2 the show if not 3/4 of the show for being absolutely dog crap. I didn't find anything at all compelling with the exception of the main event.

The Best of Raw

The tag team match and Ryback pinning Punk is something that is definitely worth noting. Furthermore there are a few wild cards that the WWE can play going into Survivor's Series.

I for on am excited to see whether or not John Cena will turn heel, or Ryback will turn Heel and beat up Cena. Either way, at one point during the big main event at Survivor's Series Cena and Ryback are going to have to fight or argue and that's where Punk can either win, or lose. We'll see how that turns out.

That's it for my thoughts on Raw, I hated most of it, but then again, I'm sure you did too.

WWE Monday Night Raw Thoughts

I didn't see the full show because my DVR messed up. I received a new one this morning. However, I did read and watch some of the show. I don't think the WWE is going to be very popular in the next few weeks. The main event at Hell in a Cell left millions upset, and the show last night was boring with a lot of recycled matches that were tired and boring.

If you missed this show, you didn't miss much.

The main event for the Survivor Series is now set, and it's awful, to say the least.

Oh well.

I've missed a few shows the past week because I was writing for work. I'm a professional blogger and it's all I do for a living. So when this site goes silent it's because I can't get to the writing part of it.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/22/12 Thoughts and Ideas

The night was full of boredom, and the rating showed. There are a lot of moments wasted and a lot of filler. I’d rather have more talent, more matches and so much more.

The Best Matches

The best matches were definitely the Ziggler and Daniel Bryan match, by far, and the main event. Those two together were better than television quality matches, they are examples of how good wrestling can be when allowed some time and two masters of their craft are in the ring and in charge. I loved it. You know you did too.

Ryback showing up was awesome too, and the crowd pushing Punk in was reminiscent of when Raven was trying to escape Goldberg. Remember?

No?

Well, in 1998 Raven fought DDP in an insane match at Spring Stampede that was just beautiful. The next night at Nitro Bill Goldberg defeated Raven for the title, and Raven was trying to escape but was pushed in by the fans.

Oh, the tag team match had some good moments too, I actually liked that a lot. Rey Mysterio is on his way out, he just is.

The Bad Things Were Really Bad

The show was terrible in a lot of ways. Aj is gone. Cena had a speech, I don’t know what else, it was boring, I wanted to sleep. You did too.

This week’s review sucks cause I didn’t really see a whole lot of greatness on the show.

WWE Smackdown 10/19/12 Thoughts

WWE Smackdown to me is still the B show, so I have to remember to treat it that way when I watch it. The beginning segments bored me, but then we got into a match, and for the most part that’s what I remember from the show.

The Miz took a sick shot from Orton towards the end of the match, and his losing streak is once again indicative that we may not see The Miz much longer. He’s come a long way, but he’s going straight down in these recent months. Orton looked solid, even though I still don’t like him.

The tag team division needs more teams; I’m tired of the same old jobber squads facing Rhodes Scholars.

Daniel Bryan and Kane are definitely fun to watch, and they made Big Slow and Ziggler look good overall. I loved the way things would turn out later in the show.

3MB is cool in my view. If you’re not sold on it, watch Heath Slater’s picture perfect missile dropkick off the top rope, and you might think differently. Brodus Clay was an awesome character, but I think they are giving up on him, this is yet another loss for the big man.

The women’s match sucked.

The lumberjack match at the end was cumbersome to say the least. The guys worked an ok match, but I’m tired of seeing Barrett become another jobber for a roster full of them.

The Best Match

This week’s best match goes to Antonio Cesaro for knocking the hell out of Ted Dibiase. I’m impressed by Cesaro’s old school style and hope he gets a good opponent that will challenge for the belt.

Team Hell No versus Big Show and Ziggler was a great match showcasing everyone’s powerful fan reaction. I liked how it all turned out and especially the way Big Show is held strong even in defeat.

The Worst Match

The absolute worst is the women’s match. I’m sick of them. The knockouts at least put on a decent match up.

The tag match and the Lumberjack match were not my favorites, so they tie for the worst. Although I hate Orton, so that’s not saying much.

Overall Show

Overall, the B show did ok, it was entertaining but they have a long way to go before they can match up the intensity that I get from Raw each week. We’ll see how things turn out in the near future. For now, enjoy your weekend.

Highlight of the Night

The best part of the show came at the end, when Dolph Ziggler was ready to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but unfortunately as he was ready to pounce on a helpless Sheamus Big Show knocked him completely out, and that was the end of the show. I loved it. I usually hate on the Big Slow but this was great.

YES I SAID BIG SLOW!

BOOOM BOOOM BOOM Kofi won the title on wednesday, I didn't watch.

WWE Monday Night Raw 10/15/12 Review

When it comes to the “A” show, the WWE surely know how to do it right. I found this night to be another mixed night of quality wrestling, boring backstage stuff, and wanting to boink the general manager. You know you’d want to as well!

Best Matches of the Night

My favorite matches of the night this time around are the Big Show beating Daniel Bryan. This match had a lot to offer, even for me. Bryan really hit everything he could on Show, but it was Show in the end that had the winning formula, choke slamming Bryan within an inch of his life.

Ryback defeating two main eventers, well not really, was a surprise. Ryback continued to plow through competitors, this time it was David Otunga and Ziggler that got completely blown away by the monster.

Kofi Kingston and the Miz! This match was ok, then it got into an insane ending where The Miz was clocked in the face by Kofi in what seemed like the hardest kick to the head I’ve ever seen. MIz, I thought was completely knocked out clean, but apparently he did not receive a concussion. I thought for sure he was gone.

My favorite of all the matches, had to go to the Antonio Cesaro match in which Justin Gabriel put on a highlight reel of his talent, only to get blown out of mid air with a European uppercut. I kid you not, the timing here was perfect and Gabriel was blown out of his boots by a huge uppercut that no one saw coming. Loved the match, loved the ending, great quality overall.

Bad Matches

The tag team division received no time, as they went through a spot fest that bored me.

The women still are tired and boring.

The backstage elements weren’t that great, and the first punk segment as well as the Miz’s highlight reel knockoff was stupid.

Overall all the talking was too much, and the action suffered, but then again, the ending was awesome.

Overall Show

Ryback and Punk will meet inside a Hell in the Cell match at the ppv, and while I’m not going to buy it, I know a lot of people will. The match up is an interesting one, as the two will face each other one on one for the first time.

If you’re not a fan of Ryback’s push, at least know that both John Cena and CM Punk have voted for him backstage to take this main event spot right now. Will Ryback win?

Well, I don’t know, but I will put money on Punk retaining through antics and maybe help from someone breaking into the cage. If he retains, look for Dolph Ziggler to steal the title.

The overall show was good, I liked it. The matches were brief, but some of them were definitely bright spots overall. The 3 Man Rock Band gimmick is funny, I’ll buy into it, that’s for sure. I want to play air guitar already!

WWE Smackdown 10/12/12 Review

Well, I am terribly late with this review, but you'll have to excuse me. I don't have a job and this blog alongside my other writing projects, I am 100% freelance. I don't make a lot of money, and I BEG YOU, to buy something from amazon if you can. If not, it's cool.

Alright, so Smackdown was on friday, I saw it later than that, and here I am talking about it.

What was good?

Well, the opening sucked. I hate the build up to this Big Slow match with Sheamus. The BRO kick is still cool, but I'll never call it anything but the "BRO" kick, sorry. This led into a Tensai match....sigh.....

Oh right, I'm talking good stuff right?

The one man rock band is exciting to me, I like that gimmick. Maybe it's cause I think Heath Slater has something special, maybe it's just that I love air guitar too much to boo him, but it's cool.

Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio put on a good main event for television, and the constant scary moments between his ring announcer and himself going through the back all night was a funny thing. I hate orton, but I liked how there wasn't anything to "fear".

Aside from those few gems, Smackdown was full of dread.

The Bad?

Everything else. The B show sucks, face it, there's not a whole lot of wrestling that can save it. Sure, I like some small things here and there, but as a cohesive program? Smackdown is lacking in all departments. Maybe I just need more wrestling, maybe I'm just jaded, but the show isn't that great, and it is showing.

I do like Kane, Daniel Bryan, Ziggler, and other spots, but this night's show wasn't that great.

Oh well.

TNA Impact Wrestling 10/11/12 Review and What Not

Thursday night TNA showcased another episode of their wrestling show, and I finally got around to watching it. It should have been an incredible moment as the company builds up for their premier ppv. There were some things that worked, and some things that were just terrible.

The Best Matches

Austin Aries fought James Storm and I for one was impressed, completely. I can’t believe that he pulled the brain buster on Storm. Of course he won thanks to interference but wow, Aries can go and he is like a mini-CM Punk but I don’t care, he is awesome in ring. The match was a great opener and I’m glad to see some quality wrestling on the show.

Bobby Roode and Jeff Hardy put on a good main event, even though it seemed a bit forced at times. I liked how fast paced the match got towards the end, even when Roode went for the low blow and got the hell out of town. Aries came down and played the pipe bomb role and that was ok at best.

The Bad News

The women’s match, Hernandez, Style, the tag match, and so much more sucked bad. I was impressed by Bully Ray, he's at his best right now, I hope he's not swerving everyone.

I especially didn’t like the vignettes, with the exception of one.

The best Moment on IMPACT

RVD getting a shot at the X-Division title shot this weekend against Ion..wow. In that segment wow, RVD is about to throw a punch, but Ion flinches and then gets hit with a standing roundhouse kick to the belt and face! I was impressed with Van Dam, wow….if you saw it you liked it.

Tna Wrestling has a long way to go before I become a huge fan, but I almost thought about driving to Arizona to see this, but alas, I can’t, I have to work. If you get TNA ppv tomorrow and want to review let me know, I’ll post up your review etc.

If not, I’ll have a Smackdown review up tomorrow. Later skaters.
