Aamir Khan, known for his commitment and meticulous planning, is gearing up for the release of ‘Talaash’. He says that the film has shaped up well and is coming out on schedule.
Written and and directed by Reema Kagti, ‘Talaash’ marks the coming together of Aamir, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar after the 2001 release ‘Dil Chhata Hai’.
"I would like to clarify that `Talaash` is releasing as planned on Nov 30th," Aamir said and added: "Over the last few weeks I have noticed that there have been some attempts to spread rumours about the film. Clearly someone is not very happy with the way it is progressing, and I can assure that that someone is not anyone from our team."
This is Aamir`s first big release after ‘3 Idiots’, which came in 2009, and he has teamed up with Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the thriller.
Denying any rift between the filmmakers, he asserted that "Reema, Farhan, Ritesh, and I are very happy with the way Talaash has turned out."
There were reports that the film is being delayed as Aamir is not happy with the final product.
A source close to the actor said, "Everyone knows how meticulous Aamir Khan is as a planner. He wouldn`t let any of his projects not have his attention or his time."

The 1992 epic love story Khuda Gawah starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi was a major hit and won many awards for sound, action and direction and now, it seems that Big B and Sridevi, who will be seen making a comeback in English Vinglish might re-unite for a sequel to the movie, which will also star Abhishek Bachchan.
The producer of the movie Manoj Desai was quoted saying that he is eager to take the story forward and will discuss the storyline with Amitabh Bachchan after finishing his script in a few days. Desai also revealed that he plans to rope in Abhishek Bachchan as the son-in-law of Badshah Khan (the character played by Big B).
Directed by Mukul Anand, Khuda Gawah told the story of an honourable Pathan (played by Bachchan), who serves prison time for the sake of love and honour and is finally exonerated after the truth comes to light.

Farah Khan turns item girl!

She has choreographed quite a few hit dance numbers and now choreographer-director-actor Farah Khan will be seen grooving herself to an item number in “Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi”, which marks her acting debut.
Talking about the item number, Farah tweeted: “Have woken up 1 hour earlier than alarm in xcitemnt. ‘Joker’ ad out n I’m shootng an item song 4 ‘Shirin Farhad…’ bt this time I’m dancing! surreal.”
“Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi” also stars Boman Irani opposite Farah and is the story of a 40-plus unmarried man and a woman. The film hits theatres Aug 24.
Farah is the name behind super hit item from “Chhaiya chhaiya” to “Munni badnaam”, “Sheila ki jawani” to “Anarkali disco chali” and the soon to be out “Kaafirana” from her husband Shirish Kunder’s “Joker”.
Director Sujoy Ghosh found it difficult to digest the news that Farah is doing an item number and tried confirming it with her. To this Farah tweeted: “Yess sujoy!! u may have 2 change the definition after Boman and me dance in it!”

Out of the three protagonists in this wacky menage a trois, two people are not as beautiful inside as they are from the outside.
Gautam and Veronica are deeply flawed characters. He, a certifiable jerk who thinks of women , good times and partying, in that order, all the time. She, Veronica quite like her namesa e in the Archies comics, is a sexy, naughty, loud siren But then what happens when the party ends? What happens when the constant search for that elusive state of being known as Good Times bores you to death?
Veronica soon finds out. In painful revelations of the darkness under the neon.
It’s a dream role for any actress.And Deepika Padukone, facing the biggest challenge of her career, sinks her beautiful teeth into the role with the hunger of a tamed tigress who has been let loose in a jungle for just one romp. She gets out of her comfort zone and lets the mascara run down her distraught face with a couldn’t-care-less gusto that glamour girls don’t generally adopt. It’s a performance to be admired.
In truth, Deepika would have been far more comfortable playing the butter-won’t-melt-in-the-mouth Meera (a hugely impressive debutante Diane Penty). Deepika has apparently chosen to play the fun-loving bitch who somewhere down the line, realises she wants all the things that he had so far scoffed at.
Not surprisingly, the film is written by Imtiaz Ali in whose “Socha Na Tha” and “Love Aaj Kal” we met the commitment-phobic hero. In fact, there is really no difference between Saif Ali Khan in “Love Aaj Kal” and in “Cocktail”. Except that the womanizer in the new avatar makes a lot more faces. Experience makes for expressiveness. They both shun true love when it stares them in the face. And then of course, the rest that follows is predictable.
“Cocktail” is not high on surprises. The two main characters are prematurely jaded, bored out of their wits by an excess of hedonism. Into their lives arrives the timid golden-hearted jilted bride who needs a home and a place to call her own. The film is really about three unmoored characters finding their bearings. That it has been shot in London is a happy circumstance for the characters. Cinematographer Anil Mehta makes them look ravishing in their rain-washed lives with glimmers of sunshine peeping out in tantalizing scoops.
Unfortunately Saif silhouetted against the London’s quaint bustle is a bit of a cliche. He brings nothing new to his role, and he isn’t entirely to be blamed for it. Saif’s is a thankless part. He moves in with the vixen Veronica where Meera is already ensconced after being deserted by her caddish NRI husband (Randeep Hooda, struggling to impart substance to his wafer-thin role).
By the time the triangle concludes everyone is in love with Meera. Audience included. Diana as the angelic girl from Delhi who is left bereft on foreign shores (many shades from Aishwarya Rai’s Aa Ab Laut Chalen) is the discovery of the year. She stops her Good Girl’s role from becoming sickeningly sugary. And that’s no small achievement for a newcomer.
“Cocktail” is not quite as intoxicating as it sounds. But it’s a heady brew about beautiful people trying to find themselves in places where life is an endless party.The music is effective in conveying the pseudo-euphoria of people who drown their solitude in noise. Saif is likeable when he doesn’t try too hard to be the roving-eyed rogue. His performance in drag to “Sheila ki jawaani” is brave.The performance on the whole is more smug than brave.
Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia playing siblings are brilliant, specially the former who seems incapable of giving an under-done or over-done performance. Like Deepika, Dimple is remarkable for getting out of her comfort zone and doing a role that would traditionally go to Kirron Kher.
Deepika and Diane are gorgeous in their respective spaces. “Cocktail” is a very good-looking film about people who constantly seek a good time and then realise what they thought to fun was a farce. The emotional transitions are achieved with a fair degree of smoothness. You kind of grow to like all three protagonists, blemishes and all.
Director Homi Adjania who made the eccentric “Being Cyrus” shows a casual familiarity with the realm of the rom-com. He takes the basic ingredients of the genre and plays around with the components, to emerge with a concoction that is quite appealing in its self-deprecating humour and a rather unusual appetite for partying.

'Ek Tha Tiger' not anti-Pakistan, assures Kabir Khan

Director Kabir Khan is upset after "Ek Tha Tiger" promos were banned in Pakistan following allegations that it portrays the neighbouring country's intelligence agency in a bad light. But he says this is a misconception and that his film is neither insensitive nor derogatory.
"I will say it once more... Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan....In this day and age, it's stupid to make films that are insensitive or derogatory to any country or community," Kabir tweeted.
The director, who earlier made "Kabul Express" on post-Taliban Afghanistan and won critical acclaim for it, says that jingoistic films lead to such situations.
"This is the price we have to pay because unfortunately our industry has made insensitive and jingoistic films in the past," he wrote.
According to reports, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), the country`s media regulatory watchdog, has directed cable operators and satellite TV channels to refrain from airing promos/reviews of the movie till it is issued a no-objection certificate by the Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan.
PEMRA alleges that the film shows the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI in a bad light.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, "Ek Tha Tiger" features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and is coming out Aug 15.
Kabir Khan is confident that the film will be released in Pakistan.
"I am absolutely sure that once the censor board of Pakistan sees 'Ek Tha Tiger', they will be more than happy to show the film in Pakistan," he posted.
"I can assure the millions of fans of Salman in Pakistan that 'Ek Tha Tiger' will release in theatres in their country," he added.

Kareena chooses Punit's film over Bhansali's: TOI Report

When Kareena had signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Ram Leela', both parties seemed to be extremely excited about it. They had waited to work with each other for 13 long years and it had finally happened...
It is therefore difficult to imagine what went wrong as Kareena seems to have walked out of this very special project.
There is news that she will be working with Punit Malhotra in his next film after 'I Hate Luv Stories'. This will be under Karan Johar's Dharma productions.
Kareena's business manager Zahid said to TOI,
"We thought it was better to do three films in 150 days than just get stuck with one."
Earlier the actress had revealed that she had signed a couple of big banner projects. We learnt that the Karan Johar production is one of them.
Well, what we are wondering is, what could the reason be for the actress to let go of the Bhansali film when she was waiting for such an opportunity for so many years? Surely it can't be only a monetary one?

In talks with TOI, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sources finally break the silence on what actually went wrong between Kareena and the magnum opus director who waited 13 long years to work with each other.
"While Kareena says she played runaway bride from Ram Leela, the director maintains he called off the deal with her because the Juliet of his film can't be a married heroine
Aishwarya Rai couldn't be Heroine because she was pregnant. And Kareena, who is Heroine, can't be Leela in Bhansali's Ram Leela because she's getting married. While the actress said she had walked out from the Gujarati adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the filmmaker says he was the one to take the call not to work with her for this project.
"A Juliet no matter how far removed from Shakespeare's original vision of her cannot be a married woman. With images of her wedding festivities flashing all over, it would have been impossible for Kareena to pass herself as a Gujju Juliet despite her great talent," a source close to Bhansali said.
Initial mutual excitement over finally working together dissolved into doubts and misgivings because, the source added, Kareena was not being clear about her wedding dates. "Sanjay holds no grudge against the actress although she was less than honest with him about her wedding plans," the source said.
To start with, the announcement of her wedding came as a bolt from the blue to the director. "It threw up a series of frightening scenarios. Kareena would, understandably, get busy with pre-wedding and post-wedding events. In the midst of her wedding in October, Kareena also needed at least a month to promote Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine which releases a month ahead of her wedding date."
"The parting was anything but acrimonious. Sanjay was surprised to read on Monday morning that Kareena had 'walked out' of Ram Leela. The truth is, this was building up for a long time. And money was the least of the problems. Sanjay was extremely keen to work with Kareena. He thinks she is an exceptional actress."
According to this source, it was too early to decide who would step into Kareena Kapoor's sharp stilettos. A friend of Sanjay's, requesting anonymity, said, "It isn't easy to find a replacement for Kareena. Sanjay isn't even trying. He is now looking for a completely new Leela."
This is the third time Bhansali and Kareena have come 'this' close to working with each other. She was earlier offered Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas - both of which eventually starred Aishwarya."
