We thought to do a series of people who have inspired us and our works. Our first pick is Sonia Delaunay, an amazingly inspiring and colorful Russian-Jewish-French woman who along with her husband, Robert Delaunay, started the artistic movement Orphism, which exalted the dynamic mission of primary color and geometric shapes. Besides paintings, she created a myriad of designs for textile, furniture, clothing, wall coverings, and stage designs, breathing life into geometrics with a palette of pure poetry. We love her simplicity, colors, shapes, her activities in the art world, and patterns for the rest of the world. Sonia, we love you!

There is something nice about the closing of one year and the beginning of a NEW YEAR! There is so much potential, it feels good to have a marker to a fresh start. It is a time for reflection and new beginnings. We are ever grateful for the wonderful family & friends that we have and appreciate all of our lovely clients and interns and support from everyone who has helped us to get where we are today! THANK YOU!!!! We wouldn't be here with out your continued support and we greatly appreciate it!
We look forward to another year and wish everyone health & happiness & a prosperous and fruitful 2012!

California is a paradise to those of us who call it home! We enjoyed some winter sun and sour grass (oxalis) in bloom on New Years Day and two lovely girls, Maya & Ava share with you the spring to come in the heart of winter!

Carve Designs is run by two surfer women who wanted clothes that really stood up to their insanely active lifestyles--surfing at 5am anyone?--but also look stylish and chic. It didn't exist at the time, so they made it themselves. I am devastated by the news of Steve Job's passing. Such a pivotal person, such a role model, such a game-changer, thought-provoker, challenge-maker. We NEED these people in the world, to push us all to unknown spaces, greater places. I love their ad about "The Crazy Ones" (scripted above), I love that he took a calligraphy class when first booted out of his own company, and when he came back, that inspiration made its way into having a multitude of decorative fonts in the personal computer. Love that! There must be a thousand stories like that with such a special person. Inspired by his life, I challenge myself to stay hungry, stay inspired, and do good things.
