Nadia's poem

The crescent moon cold and unforgiving

The water shrivvles as if something is bound to happen

I wait and wait and wait waiting for something....... anything .......... everything

I wonder" what if" I ask my self as I sit in my chair

Thinking wondering where is home when Will I get there?Is it up to the heavens or down to the bottom of the sea

That was then, this is now

We can’t go back in time

You chose the path you

Thought was straight

My love for you was blind

I thought that we were meant

To be. I loved with blinders on

And now you’re back

But this is now,

The love I had is gone.

That was then, this is now

I just don’t feel the same

All the love I had for you,

To you was just a game.

You went your way, and I went mine,

but look where we are now?

Can we start all over again?

I just cannot see how.

The grass was not so green, as

You came to the end of your path

How long did it take for you to

Figure it out? You’re smart, you

Do the math.

My blinders are finally gone

And now I see clear as day

So my choice is to just move on!

I cannot remember me

Without thinking of you

Our history so intertwined

Like roses on a vine

The east end your stomping ground

West Side was mine

But you became my family

The sister I never had

The one I’m still privileged to know

Thru the ups and the downs you were always around

And for that I’m eternally glad

Life’s moments we’ve shared, some laughter some tears

Evenly spread throughout the years but

It’s ok

Cause ‘Back in the Day’

Means so much because You were there

Braiding Hair

Rollerskating in y’all basement on Germain

Were we insane? There were

Poles in the middle of the floor!

Walking to the store five times or more

All on a summer’s day.

Bike riding

Walking downtown

Giggling at everything and nothing

From break dance battles

To baby rattles

Cedarbrook park

Your mother’s fireplace when it got dark

We rocked the Bells with LL

Endured all of life’s changes together. I would NEVER

trade it in because You are my

I want to tell you thank you

For being my lifelong friend.

The only problem is, where do

I begin?

So many wonderful memories

I just don’t know where to start.

So maybe I will start by saying, you

Are truly a part of my heart.

You were there when I was happy

You never left me when I was down

When I lost my way, you helped me

To be found.

You saw something in me, I could not

See with my own eyes. You helped me

To laugh again. You were a comfort to

My cries.

Being a part of your life has

Truly been a pleasure. Besides my love

For Jehovah nothing else can measure.

You are the true meaning of friendship

And I am honored to be your friend.

If I had to do my life over, I would

Chose you as my friend again.

So as I pen these words, know that each

One is true.

I love you my friend, so again I tell you

On the Brink of Loving HIm

I stay on the brink of loving him

I just don’t understand why.

He throws me away like a piece of trash

He didn’t care if he made me cry.

He made me believe I was special

I thought I had it like that

But he told me nothing but lies

Now I must face the fact.

The fact that he never committed

His feelings were never the same

I was a simple convenience

A part of his ego game.

I stay on the brink of loving him

Memories take me back in time

A place, a song, even a scent

Brings thoughts of him to my mind.

I wish I could hit delete and all

Memories be erased. It would make

Things so much easier, but that’s just

Not the case.

I stay on the brink of loving him

But then reality sets right in. and I

Know that what I thought we had,

We will never have again.

Rain

I long to hear your voice

Like a flower yearns for sun

Turning this way and that

In order to bask in its rays

But sometimes it rains

And it’s a good thing we have our umbrellas

As we splash thru muddy puddles together

The rain mixing with our tears

Yet

We find the rainbow at the end

I long to hear your voice

Your deep timbre gently rocking me to sleep

A staccato da-da-da-da-da

Our own secret language

The language of Love

He Created Us

He created us with perfection

And though what the first of us

did was wrong, it is through our

trials and tribulations that we have

Come to be so strong.

He created us for a purpose

To multiply and fill the world

So we bear the responsibility

For every boy and girl

He created us with compassion

So we love with all that we are

As Christ who showed compassion

Before us, like him, we bear some

Scars.

A mother, a wife, a friend

Titles we all may bear

To be created a woman,

there is nothing that can compare

Know that you are special

With, or without a man. Why?

Because he created us

With his Very own hands.

It Is What It Is

Don’t look for explanations

Accept the circumstances

There will be less complications

Take it for what it is

Don’t look for nothing else

Don’t make something out

of nothing just to satisfy

Yourself.

It is what it is

It will likely stay the same

So if you can’t deal with

The players

Take yourself out the Game!

It really isn’t hard, it’s self

explanatory. If you cannot

comprehend, you’re in the

wrong category.

It is what it is

There’s not much more to say

So if you think you know the

Game, deal your cards

Love Don't Hurt

Black eyes, broken bones,

Broken heart and busted lips

All from the force of his

balled up fist

A long sleeved shirt on a warm

sunny day. People look at you

as if you’re insane, you can hide

The scars, but you can’t hide

The pain

LOVE DON’T HURT

Missed days from work

Sick time all used, but you

Can’t go back, they will see

You’re all bruised. Two more days

They will be all healed, is what

You tell yourself as you pop pain

pills.

Family dinner planned, but you

make an excuse. They can’t find out

You’re a victim of abuse. If they

see you face to face, they will see

Right through your lies, you won’t

Be able to hide it, they will see it in

Your eyes.

LOVE DON’T HURT

He said he was sorry, but you made

Him mad. But that’s to take the guilt

Off him and make you feel bad

If you don’t leave him now, he will

Always treat you like dirt

When will you finally see that

To the Sun

Will you come with me to the sun if I

Ask nicely?

We can take my magic carpet and I’ll even let you drive

As we fly towards the heavens in the wind there is

Love

Would you play in the rain if I asked you?

Slipping thru the silver drops as they coat our skin, a veil moist and heavy yet light,

Embracing and chasing-lightning streaks across the sky.

Your thunder cracking open my heart

Where love resides

Will you slide down the rainbow with me just once?

Joy will catch us as we tumble head over heels.

We’ll wrap ourselves in shades of blue, red, green and peach

Love is within reach, it’s easier than you think

Take my hand as we follow the sun passing cumulous clouds

In the sky

A magic carpet ride

I’ll even let you drive

Unspoken

Drawn in by the unspoken

My mind like a ferris wheel

Slowly turning in the summer sun

The same in it’s mundaneness plainness

Thoughts looping thru my space unsettled

It is a treacherous thing

Our heart

It pulls and pushes and exerts it power with a silent beat

A breath a touch a whisper you hear it

Ignore it

Fall forward

Unspoken yet crashing in your ears like waves drowning

Heart beat

Heart speak

Slave to Your Rhythm

I’m a slave to your rhythm

My heart palpitates to your

Beat. It sets my soul on fire,

From the top of my head, to

The soles of my feet!

Your rhythm runs through

Me, like water through a

River. It sends chills up and

Down my spine. It makes my

Whole soul quiver!

I’m a slave to your rhythm

It ignites my dimming flame.

Like a shock, to my system,

It makes me scream your

Name.

Your rhythm explores me.

As it searches my inner cave,

I become a slave to your rhythm,

Through your rhythm, I become

Your Slave!

I'm Not Blind

I believe you think I’m stupid.

Well I’m not, and I’m not blind.

I see the things you’re doing, and

I can read between the lines. You

Think you are sneaky, and you’re

Getting over on me? Don’t think

Because I’m quiet, there are

Things I do not see.

I believe you think I’m dumb.

Like I can’t see all the signs.

My eyes seem closed to the

Situation, but believe me, I’m

Not blind! Please don’t believe

My silence means that I don’t

Know. I just know when I reveal

It, I will have to let you go.

I believe the day is coming, when

You will see I’m not blind. That’s

The day I’m leaving, and all you’ll

See is my behind!
