Position Description:
  • Responsible for the support and integration of Six Sigma efforts within the T-55 CCAD program at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Acts as an internal technical consultant to lead, define, and develop continuous improvement and redesign activities by providing expertise in Six Sigma (lean and variation reduction) tools.
  • Coaches and champions teams to identify and implement opportunities to improve program and process effectiveness.
  • Plans and conducts training to others who will support the execution of Six Sigma strategies and tools; provides guidance for successful achievement of Green Belt certifications.
  • Leads problem solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste/cost of poor performance.
  • Applies statistical methods/analysis to improve process capability, reduce process variation and optimizes break-through performance.
  • Design, drive and perform operational analysis of business processes.
  • Documents and institutionalizes using controls and scorecards to ensure lasting project benefits.
  • Identifies and leverages best practices across functional lines.
  • Practices expertise and demonstrates proficiency by applying the language of management (such as money, time, organization dynamics) and the language of individual contributors (such as implementation details, quality tools, statistical techniques, problem-solving methods).
  • Identifies key elements of process improvement and partners with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable change.
  • Develops and prepares metrics and related reports.
  • Provides technical direction/guidance to personnel as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in a technical discipline and five (5) years related experience. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of directly related experience which yields an equivalent understanding. Lean Expert / Black Belt certified or pursuing certification.
  • Proven sound technical judgment, knowledge and experience with statistics are required.
  • Process improvement knowledge/technical expertise.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

1.Independently plan and manage a portfolio of short and long term improvement initiatives to address systemic issues and achieve the productivity goals for the allocated projects.
2.Provide solutions to Highly Constrained Problems by applying appropriate analysis tools and Change Management techniques to optimize the processes and meet the Productivity Savings targets.
3.Facilitate and conduct trainings and workouts to project teams to help identify and implement improvement ideas
4.Have regular interactions with teams and key stakeholders and provide timely reports and status updates

Qualifications

1.Good understanding of analysis techniques, tools and processes for Providing solutions to Highly Constrained Problems
2.Good knowledge of end-to-end product development life cycle methodologies, regulatory norms and requirements.
3.Understand and enable collection, integration, optimization and delivery of information sources with the objective of developing a Knowledge Management environment to aid the engineering teams.
4.Maintain open, regular communication with project team, customers, and other stakeholders.
5.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task consistently while interacting with multiple teams.
6.Strong communication and facilitation skills.
7.Six Sigma Green Belt knowledge and statistical analysis techniques.
8.SEI-CMMi Methodology experience a plus.
