Few pictures and specs of Verizon’s upcoming Android based phone, HTC Incredible, have been leaked today. The pictures look somewhat real compared to all the prototypes that were leaked before. Rumors have it that it’s another Sense UI Android with an 8MP camera with LED flash.

Rumors also suggest that the Snapdragon processor has been underclocked to 768MHz to save battery life while the RAM has been doubled to 512MB.

HTC Incredible Leaked Pictures and Specs

One of the biggest complaints that all iPhone users have is the lack of multitasking support in the iPhone, and no, this is not a new issue, but something which has been bugging everyone for the last 3-4 years since the first iPhone released.

According to some sources for AppleInsider, Apple is finally planning to incorporate a task manager that will integrate with the established iPhone user interface in the iPhone OS 4.0.

Apple believes that multiple apps running simultaneously will run down the battery faster, or could lead to more out-of-memory errors as apps contend for resources of the iPhone. But it looks like some big changes are going to be seen in the iPhone 4.0 firmware.

Remember ODROID? Yes, the handheld gaming device powered by Android. ODROID Developer Edition recently got an Android 2.1 update which makes it running on the latest Android version up to date.

It is based on a Samsung-manufactured application processor called S5PC100 833MHz. The system-on-chip(SoC) uses the latest ARM’s Cortex-A8 with NEON multimedia accelerator.

This device has so much potential to be the next big thing in the Android world, but it looks like developers haven’t yet realized that. From the video above, everything seems to be running very smooth on the ODCROID with Android 2.1.

Some really cool new 3D games can be expected now, thanks to the new 3D features of the Android NDK announced by Google.

Sony Ericsson has designed a completely new interface called UXP or User Experience Platform. It is based on Sony Ericsson’s latest phones, XPERIA X10, X10 mini and X10 Pro, based on Android OS.

CNET reported,

CNET took an in-depth tour of UXP with George Arriola, Sony Ericsson’s head of human interface design, at the company’s lab in San Francisco. Overall, we liked what we saw. Sony Ericsson’s UXP interface is clean, easy-to-use, and attractive. We also like that it lets the basic Android framework shine through.

This can finally change things for Sony Ericsson smartphones in terms of user experience. This change may attract many SE fans who were expecting something new from Sony Ericsson Team.

HTC Legend has been reviewed by Gizmodo, and according to them, it is not just a “HTC Hero sequel”.

Every feature and hardware specification that has received an upgrade as compared to the Hero shows what beautiful device HTC has come up with this time!

Gizmodo says the Legend is way more responsive, super fast and HTC Sense (on Android 2.1) is said to be at its best. Now this all adds up how the HTC Desire would be when it is released.

HTC Supersonic has been briefly caught on cam and boy, that 4.3 inches screen looks awesome!

Not much was shown in the video accept the HTC boot screen on the HTC Supersonic and showed the backside of the deive which had HTC Supersonic printed.

HTC Supersonic still has not been officially announced, but will soon be as the device photos have been leaking on the web for quite some time. This device will be powered by Android, and have a 4.3-inch display and WiMax (4G).

Apple finally announced the exact date of when the iPad will be available in the US. It’s coming on Saturday, April 3 – for the WiFi models. WiFi + 3G models will be available later in April.

For the countries other than US, i.e Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK, iPad will be available there in late April.

Apple is taking pre-orders for the iPad, starting from March 12, for the US. WiFi and WiFi + 3G models will have to be ordered online through the Apple Online Store. Or you can get an iPad (WiFi model) reserved to pick up on April 3.

Opera 10.5 final version has released and is now available for download. Just yesterday the release candidate version was released, and now we have the final version of “the world’s fastest browser”.

And like I have posted before, Microsoft has started offering alternative web browsers to Windows users in Europe, Opera is also one of its top choice.

Opera 10.5 Final Released, Download Now!

Now this is something really very surprising! Microsoft is offering other “alternative” web browsers to its users in Europe.

In the latest Windows Update, Microsoft prompts users of Internet Explorer using Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 to make an “important choice” of choosing their web browser. The move is part of a settlement with the European Commission.

This update will be delivered to you via Automatic Updates, or if you have that disabled, you can get it from the Windows Update website. It doesn’t alter anything in your system, other than it unpins IE from your taskbar and asks you what browser you want to use.

The list of web browsers being offered by Microsoft are:

• Chrome
• Firefox
• Flock
• Green Browser
• Internet Explorer
• K-meleon
• Maxthon
• Opera
• Safari
• Sleipnir
• Slim

Remember, this is only for users who use Internet Explorer as their default browser. Windows users who already use other web browsers i.e. Firefox, Opera etc will not be prompted to choose.

Microsoft Offering Alternative Browsers to Windows 7 Users

We all know Android Market is not available in all the countries yet. Not exactly the entire Market, but users in countries like India, Pakistan and a number of other places don’t get paid apps in Android Market on their phone. Only free apps are accessible.

Market Enabler is an Android app for ‘rooted’ devices that could be used to fake a phone’s location and access Android Market from other countries.

Being in Pakistan myself, I don’t get to see the MySpace Mobile Android app in my Market, but thanks to Market Enabler, I downloaded that app from the T-Mobile (US) market. Also I could see two more apps by Google, Finance and Listen, that are not available for other countries/regions.

Market Enabler is based on reverse engineering of Android Market delivered up to 1.5.x but does work with final 1.6 Market. And now also fully supports Android 2.0 and 2.1 (I’m using it on my Nexus One!).

Enable Paid Apps in Android Market

The first Windows Phone 7 handset has been unveiled by Microsoft at The Engadget Show, and the first WinMo7 phone is by LG.

Windows Phone 7 Series was launched at Mobile World Congress 2010 last month in Barcelona in the presentation by Microsoft.

This LG handset seems to perfectly fit in the requirements needed to run the latest Windows Mobile OS. The prototype phone was unveiled by Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman, featuring Windows phone 7 Series. It is a QWERTY-slider phone with a multitouch display and standard Windows Phone 7 Series device buttons – Back, Home and Search. It also had the power, volume and camera buttons.

According to Engadget, this device is “just a hair thicker than an iPhone or Nexus One” and features a 5 megapixels camera with flash and a headphone jack. Detailed specifications will come up later before the actual release of this LG device.

First Windows Phone 7 Series Handset by LG

Seesmic for Android also received an update today after the Seesmic for BlackBerry app update yesterday.

I did mention yesterday that Android users will soon get an update as the BlackBerry users got one yesterday and today morning when I woke up, I saw a notification on my Nexus One for a Seesmic update available.

This update brings bug fixes and TweetPhoto upload service has been added. Other features like the multi-accounts is already there in Android version, so that isn’t needed. But a Ping.fm integration will be very useful to Seesmic for Android.

Seesmic for Android can download this update from the Android Market on your phone.

Google Buzz users must have noticed that whenever you get comments on your post/update, you get a notification email in your email inbox about the comment.

Now this feature could be useful for some, but for most of us, this is quite annoying and looks like spam for regular Buzz users who get comments on almost all of their posts.

How to Disable Comments Notifications

To disable comment notifications for a post, simply follow the steps below:

1. Look for the post you want to disable comment notifications of.
2. In the top right of the post, click the arrow for more options
3. Select “Mute this post” to disable comment notifications.
   

You will not get email notifications of comments now.

Seesmic for BlackBerry Updated: Multi-accounts and Ping.fm Support

Adobe has been demonstrated Flash several times on Android devices. The first time was two years ago on the G1, but everytime the release of Flash 10.1 has been delayed due to some or the other performance issues.

Most of these issues are because of the first generation of Android devices, i.e G1, myTouch 3G etc. and for that, Adobe has decided to drop out Flash support for these devices.

Flash 10.1 for Android will only work with devices having a ARMv7 (Cortex) based processor running at the back end. ARMv6 (ARM11) won’t be supported, which means the HTC Hero has also been dropped out.

You can expect the final release for Android to be available mid-year. All Android devices that meet our minimum s/w and h/w requirements will be supported. Unfortunately, I cannot say a lot more publicly about our port to the Android platform at this time.

As for WinMo, we have made the tough decision to defer support for that platform until WinMo7. This is due to the fact that WinMo6.5 does not support some of the critical APIs that we need.

As for your other questions:
* Yes, we will support the Motorola Milestone.
* No, the HTC Hero will not be supported b/c it does not have the correct Anroid OS version and it’s chipset is not powerful enough. We require a device with an ARM v7 (Cortex) processor. Examples include the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and TI OMAP3 series.

Skype Lite, the Android version of Skype was taken down from the Android Market yesterday. It was not one of the best apps, but it did its job.

This could mean two things. Skype is going to release the full version of Skype for Android with all the features, or there have been mistake due to which Skype Lite is down.

Many users think that Fring is way better when it comes to using Skype on mobile. But again, an official application is a much better choice if it comes with all the features we want.

And it’s not just the Android Market. Skype has also been pulled down from the Windows Mobile Marketplace.

This clearly shows something is up at Skype which they will be announcing/releasing in a day or two.

Skype for Android Full Version Coming Soon?

CorePlayer 2.0 for Android is currently in development. The popular media player will soon be brought to the Android platform.

I have my hopes high for CorePlayer as there is not even a single media app on Android that could play all the video formats i.e MKV etc.

CorePlayer has been my favourite mobile video player since I used to have Nokia phones. I still use it on my Nokia E71 to play music videos.

I have been following @CoreCodec on Twitter for the latest updates and there they posted a screenshot of CorePlayer 2.0 playing a H.264 video on the Nexus One (Android phone).

CorePlayer 2.0 supports Android 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 at the moment.

Quake 3 has been ported to Android, after the previous ports of Quake and Quake 2. This shows what Android is capable of running, and the power of Motorola Droid (as shown in the demo video after the jump).

A developer “Thunderbird2k” has worked on the port of Quake 3 to Android devices by the name of “kwaak3” and AndroidandMe has demonstrated it running on Motorola Droid. On the project website, you can find complete details of this project and how you can run this game on your Android phone.

Quake 3 requires Android 1.6 or higher to run. Check the project site for details.

I visit lots of Android forums where I discuss and take help on issues I’m stuck on. One thing that I noticed is that many people are having problems in using Google Shopper.

After you scan a barcode or product, users don’t get proper search results or usually end up in a fail search.

Yesterday, while playing with Google Shopper, I made a quick video of me scanning the cover of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PlayStation 3 game). I scanned it two times. Once I got only two search results, but the next time when I again scanned, I got a number of product results and hundreds of reviews about the game.

Fring Adds Video Calls Support for Nokia E71

Gull1hack is a new iPhone 3.1.3 jailbreak tool developed by a group of hackers that claim to have found an exploit in the iPhone 3.1.3 OS.

Two hackers have already found exploits in the iPhone 3.1.3 firmware to unlock the latest baseband 05.12.01 on iphone 3G and 3GS.

This tool will be compatible with all all iPhone and iPod Touch models.

While booting, we overun the buffer memory, letting the iPhone think there is something wrong; But in the moment it tries to enter safe mode, we send a boot signal like Blackra1n or Redsn0w.

The developer has not mentioned yet when this tool will be available for everyone to download. For now, you can only watch the demo video Gull1hack has posted.
