This week I was invited to come to the Rice sales meeting. I heard some nice stories about this "famous" gathering, so I was very happy to be part of it this time... And it was just perfect!! Such a great team of openminded, enthusiastic, happy people from allover Europe. We presented the new winter collection, brainstormed about the future, enjoyed lot's of good food and of course we danced the night away!

Kinfolk flower potluck gathering at Restored

About a week ago, on a beautiful saturday evening in Amsterdam, I literally felt like I lived in a wonderful flower fairytale. I was one of the 14 lucky girls who bought a ticket for the Kinfolk Flower Potluck Gathering. The Flower Potluck is a celebration of Spring’s arrival, bringing new and old friends together to delight in the season’s fresh flowers, foliage, and food. Restored, one of my favourite stores, hosted this beautiful evening ( together with Vlinder & Vogel, who did the workshop) And, like their shop, it was all done with lot's of love and eye for detail.

Everything was just perfect! The workshop, the ambiance, the flowers, the people and the beautiful food catered by Nadia & Merijn of Arabia mmm!

Sprinkles. It just makes baking more fun! Mix powder sugar and water for a sticky glaze and dip your cookie, donut, cake, anything really, in a big bowl of sprinkles. Or put some sprinkles through your dough! ... And if you are patient enough to embroider with these little fellows, I just say, go for it J.

Localilo in Haspengouw: Blossom tour

You don't have to go all the way to Japan to see blossoms! We did a little blossom bike tour in Belgium. We went to Haspengouw, this area is known for beautiful blossoms... the landscape is decorated with a lot of apple, pear & cherry trees which bloom around april/may. Magical! We had a lovely weekend and stayed in this gorgeous place Kasteelhoeve de Kerckhem ( you know... the one I've told you about before.)

I really find it a very good thing that I see more and more hand-painted decoration in the streets! It means that this beautiful craftsmanship survived through the years and that we still appreciate the beauty of things made by hand! In New York I discovered a lot of big painted advertisements on buildings - in Amsterdam on shop windows. Love.

In New York I discovered the wonderful work of Eugene Alain Seguy! Mr. Seguy was active in Paris from 1900 to 1925. His mastery of decorative design and coloration is evident in the beautiful pochoir portfolios he created. The style of Seguy reflected the influences of both Art Nouveau and Art Deco. His various color portfolios of visual ideas for artists and designers often featured motifs based on the natural world, including flowers, plants and animals.

I was just reading in my fresh Frankie Magazine ( beautiful issue!) when I saw these special designs of Romance was Born. The name of this collection says it all: Lil Lord Fauntleboy. Colourful, sporty and flowery at the same time. Nice mix of patterns. I really like the creativity and styling.

Maddie, a dog that makes me laugh

I have a cat, a very sweet one, but I'm actually a huge dog fan! Unfortunately it's quite impossible to have a dog in Amsterdam... I have to be patient... One day I will live in the countryside, with a dog. Until that day I just enjoy Maddie, the coonhound. She's so adorable and funny! Wonderful pictures taken by this wild idea.

In the past few months I collected some nice ideas for sweaters on Pinterest. I like these little simple ideas and I truly believe you can make this easily yourself. With iron letters, sequins strings, pieces of fabric or at your local screen print shop ( we have a fabulous one in Amsterdam) All you need to do is buying yourself some simple sweaters at H&M or any other cheap store and make it your own! Voila, easypeasy.

Oooooooh, every time I see a picture of the Japanese cherry blossoms I want to go there as soon as possible ( before you know it it's gone again). Big pink clouds in the sky. I was lucky enough to see it once myself. Pretty pretty!!! But good heavenly, we have people like Hello Sandwich! I'm very happy with this lovely lady on Instagram. Her pictures bring me for a little moment a day to Tokyo too :)
