the PIN gallery '13

2013-08-16T00:03:00.000-07:00

This weekend is your last change to see some of the most beautiful images from Pinterest at the PIN gallery! You can find information about the makers, right links and sources that link back to the right websites ( something I believe is very important, link with love) and learn more about some influential 'pinners' in the Netherlands. It is all done with a lot of love, care, respect for the makers and with no commercial intentions ( free entrance and pictures will not be sold). The PIN gallery is truly meant to be as a podium for all those talented people from all over the world. Will I see you there?

Of course I was very happy when Dutch newspaper het Parool phoned me for an interview about the PIN gallery!! It's a very positive and fun to read article. Sorry for all the people outside of the Netherlands... I guess Google Translate is not ready yet to translate a photo...

The PIN gallery space

2013-08-06T23:50:00.000-07:00

I still can't believe that I really found this fantastic place for the first edition of the PIN gallery. Such an amazing space with lot's of light, old details and this loft kind of feeling. Hope to see you there! ... 5 days to go! :)

PS For all the people who love it too and are interested... it's for sale!!!

The PIN gallery count down!

2013-08-04T23:20:00.001-07:00

Oooh, only one week left before the PIN gallery will open her doors! Looking forward to it. Sjoesjoe will be all about the exposition this week! And to get in the mood 101 Woonideeën will blog about the attending pinners too. Every day a new pinner and a new story behind them. Nice read for the morning!

Upcoming...the PIN gallery

2013-08-01T23:39:00.003-07:00

Studio Sjoesjoe is very busy with the preparations of the PIN gallery. This project is all about 'just do it'. I really think that good ideas are there to be done.... and not to be put somewhere on a shelf to get dusty. And sometimes this means you have to invest yourself. It truly gives a fantastic feeling and satisfaction when you just do it. And the fun part for the PIN gallery is that a lot of people like the idea and I even have some sponsors now. Will you visit the exhibition too??

Studio Sjoesjoe portfolio update

2013-07-31T23:46:00.003-07:00

During my holiday there were nice Sjoesjoe things happening that I like to show you (perhaps you have seen this already on my Facebook page)! I was very pleased to see my letter V postcard in the latest Flow magazine! 26 Illustrators were asked to create a postcard with a letter. I had to think up something nice for the letter V. Nice to be part of this cool Flow project!

And Rice launched this fun and inspiring lunch video. We, as in the Rice team and me, have made it especially for Rice A/W13. What do you think?

Roadtrip #3 - Serbia

2013-07-30T23:20:00.003-07:00

Serbia was a big surprise for me. I caught myself on expectations that diden't matched this boosting country at all. Yes of course, you still see some war scars. And we know that these people lived in fear. But when you're there it just feels as if everybody is celebrating life and is trying to make the best of it. We were driving through beautiful landscapes before we arrived in Belgrade. Which is just a fantastic city with lot's of nice restaurants and bars like Supermarket. We had such a great time over there!!

Roadtrip #2: Montenegro

2013-07-29T23:56:00.001-07:00

So after Croatia we were very pleased to be in Montenegro. Such a beautiful country! Less touristic and everything is a little more old which I think is great to see. I enjoyed the lovey beach of Stefi Stefan. But the countryside was amazing too! And actually the best part of it was to camp somewhere in the middle of the fields. What do you think of our shower? Pretty need right?

Roadtrip #1 - Croatia

2013-07-29T02:51:00.002-07:00

Goodmorning dear all! Sjoesjoe is back with lot's of energy, inspiration and good memories! The roadtrip we made was unforgettable! It's so great to be free and do what ever you feel like to do. In the upcoming week I will show you some of my pictures. Let's start with beautiful Croatia. The coast is so pretty. With crystal blue bays, little beaches, figue and prume trees, flowers everywhere and a lovely sun that always shines. We followed the road along the coast and visited cities like Rovinje, Trogir, Split and Dubrovnik.

When two talents work together...

2013-06-26T03:57:00.001-07:00

One of my favourite sing & songwriter, Janne Schra, worked with one of my favourite video producers, Basha de Bruijn. The end result is a very beautiful and fashionable video: Different. Have a look yourself, I loved it!

The PIN gallery

2013-06-23T23:59:00.000-07:00

Studio Sjoesjoe is very excited to present to you a fresh new Sjoesjoe concept: the PIN gallery! The PIN gallery is a pop-up exhibition inspired by Pinterest and takes place in Amsterdam. As you probably know Pinterest is a pinboard photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections. With more then 10 million registered users it's the fast growing social network at the moment. But nowadays Pinterest to me is more then only 'pinning' some images. It's all about what people move, like, who they are, what they want and it even shows their dreams. If you look better you can see the seasons coming by and you can feel what is going on all over the world.

So what can you expect on this inspiring exhibition? Well, 8 Dutch pinners; April and May, 2d studio in vorm, 101 Woonideeën, AnoukB, Wimke Tolsma, Rosee Berson, Marieke Noordanus and Studio Sjoesjoe are asked to show each 5 images that matches the following theme: << Eye Candy >> get visual tickled by pure and tasteful images. You will learn more about the makers, the pinners and will definitely be inspired! The exhibition will be held in a beautiful white old loft in the center of Amsterdam. Just perfect to combine a nice day in Amsterdam with a visit to the PIN gallery, right? :)

Beautiful sketchbook by Danielle Kroll

2013-06-21T00:57:00.001-07:00

Rice autumn/winter 2013

2013-06-19T00:02:00.004-07:00

Yessss, I finally can show you the Rice autumn/winter collection that I worked on last year! Working together with the Rice team is just wonderful. They are so creative and full of colourful ideas. I really felt I could put al my creativity in this collection. No boundries, loved it. My ulitimate favourite are these melamine bird plates! Can't wait to buy these for in my camper...

Bento lunch boxes are a huge trend at the moment, so we created some products to make that bento box even more fun. Sandwich wrapping, silicon shapes for sweets or berries, little notes, prickers and of course new bento boxes with fun patterns. Love this lunch theme, what about you?

I always enjoy cosy high teas. Little scones, sweet tarts and sandwiches accompanied with a nice cup of tea mmm. This winter we can make a very colourful high tea with these beautiful Rice products.

Sweet sweet Rosa, this dog is so special. She really enjoys to be in front of the camera! I always walk with her when I am in Odense. Sometimes I just want to put her in my bag and take her to Amsterdam.

Rice makes all her products with so much care and eye for details and quality. It's all about bringing some colour into your life. Of course there is much more to show you! See the entire catalogue here!

Oh la la, when I see these paintings and photos I just want only one thing: go to a tropical beach, swim, eat a lot of ice creams and read a book under a colourful parasol... it truly gives me the ultimate holiday feeling. And that is just what we all need right?

Pretty pretty Denmark!

2013-06-12T22:59:00.002-07:00

Good morning!! I am in Denmark for a few days, working on the new Winter collection for Rice. And we decided to do this on one of the beautiful islands of Denmark: Aerø. It's so pretty over here. Green fields and hills, stunning sea views, lot's of flowers and old houses. And there are flea markets everywhere J. So inspiring! I truly open up in surroundings like this. Sjøesjøe is a happy girl. x

Paper fantasy by Beci Orpin

2013-06-03T00:22:00.003-07:00

Beci Orpin was involved in the exhibition ‘True Self’. True Self sees photographers team up with different artist and illustrators to make a large scale piece with the theme of ‘positive self image’. Beci paired up with the Sean Fennessy. This is the result of their pairing... colour / shape / composition it all feels really good in this image!
