These are the top five skateboard movies on youtube. We determined that by typing in Skateboard to youtube's search engine. The funny thing is that these are definately not the best skateboard videos online. Somehow these videos found their way to the top of the youtube barrel. This means they will automatically see thousands of views every day and possibly keep their status at the top. All view counts and rankings are as of January 4, 2011.

A sick video filled with solid street tricks by a large crew of today's pros. This video makes you stoked to go skateboard, so we'll give it a thumbs up.

#3 - "how to skateboard for beginners" -6,612,054 views - Release date: Sept 2006

A funny video that shows some basic skateboard moves to get started on a board. This asian guy and his buddy go through what it would take a beginner to gain board control. Then funny graphics come on enticing you with LETS GO!!! mentality. They proceed to show us a bunch of oldschool sidewalk tricks a la Rodney Mullen style. Its an entertaining movie. The audio has changed due to copyright issues with the original song they had, so the instructions are missing from the video. 6.6 million views is crazy for any video, and these guys must be enjoying their fame. We give a neutral vote on this one. Its definitely entertaining and serves its purpose of teaching beginners how to skateboard.

Filmed on location in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California with professional skateboarders Paul Rodriguez, Brian Anderson, Gino Iannucci, Stefan Janoski, Omar Salazar, Chet Childress, Reese Forbes, Todd Jordan, Daniel Shimizu, Danny Supa, Wieger Van Wageningen, Lance Mountain and amateurs Grant Taylor, Lewis Marnell, Dan Murphy and Clark Hassler teamed up with the Belgian director duo Lionel Goldstein to tell the whole truth and Nothing But the Truth. Jackass 2.5 - ALL NEW (Sort of)

Jackass has recently released another movie in its long string of steadily increasing mayhem and debauchery to entertain the masses. The name is the Jackass 2.5 DVD. Like them or not, Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville, Wee Man, Preston Gacy, Dave England, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and director Jeff Tremaine get into the sketchiest, craziest, gnarliest, most dangerous, stupid, ridiculous, and outright outrageously funny moments and situations in these dvds. Jackass 2.5 is really a behind the scenes movie with all the extra footage that was too stupid for even Jackass fans to put into jackass 2, its the footage for the hardcore Jackass fans that can't ever get enough and need to see more. In that aspect, its a great dvd because it gives you a behind the scenes into the ideas behind how and why they shot those scenes.
I personally enjoy most of the stuff by Jackass, and this is more of the same. You may have seen some of these shots before, but from different angles. Like Johnny Knoxville says in the video, "We really shot enough video for 2 Jackass movies when we shot Jackass 2. Its more fun than real life to keep making new content." The Jackass crew is a bunch of workaholics in the world of stunt/shock movies, and they'll keep putting out new footy, so keep buying it, cause you know you can't resist watching what they'll do next. Apparently you can get the Jackass 2 DVD for an amazingly cheap deal at Amazon.com, so be sure to get a copy of that for your collection if you missed it before.

Cheese and Crackers is one of the most creative skateboard movies of all time. Daewon Song has long been known for his huge bag of tricks, and this is yet another example of his technical wizardry. Eastern Exposure Zero is a skateboard movie that starts with a hilarious intro involving old ladies who don't like them skating. Hammer trick after trick. From obstacles like ledges, stairs, rails, wallrides, gaps, trash cans, phily's love park, spunk skate, and more. This is very progessive little vid, with no hype, just skilled riders getting techy. A guy even has to dodge a car on his skateboard. It really makes you wanna go out and skate and keep on doing your thing. Thats what good videos do.
Rating on a 5 star basis:
Rider Quality - 4 stars
Footage - 3 stars
Nothing new with angles here. Lots of fisheye lens shots.
Soundtrack - 0 stars although raw skating is enjoyed by some, I prefer a little something if its gonna be a long movie.
