Manik Skateboards George Carlin “7 Last Words” Tee

If you’re a George Carlin fan, then you’re familar with his 7 Words you can’t say on TV skit. It’s one of the funniest of all time. Manik Skateboards just put out a limited edition George Carlin “7 Last Words” Tee to pay homage to a great comedian. I just happen to get mine in the mail yesterday and am excited to wear it. The t-shirt features a B/W portrait on the front with 7 Last Words printed in red. On the back of the shirt, you have the list of all 7 words printed in a neutral color. You can check with your local skate shop to pick up your own, or contact Manik .

New SK8FACE Trailer

Vans Bad Brains Collection

Hot on the heels of the Supreme X Vans X Bad Brains Collection. Vans finally unveiled their eagerly anticipated Bad Brains Collection for the upcoming Spring 2009 season. Bad Brains just happens to be one of our favorite bands around here. It’s good to see they’re getting some well deserved attention.

P-Rod and Pierre-Luc get Big Pay Day at the Maloof Money Cup

The Maloof Money Cup wrapped yesterday and paid out the biggest purse in Skateboard history. Paul Rodriguez won the street comp and wins $100,000. Pierre-Luc Gagnon won the Vert comp and takes home $75,000.

The biggest payday in skateboarding history came Sunday night when Paul Rodriguez, the son of the comedian of the same name, won the street competition and $100,000. He beat 13-year-old Nyjah Huston, who earned $40,000, plus another $5,000 for best trick. Others competing in street included Ryan Sheckler and Jake Duncombe. Rob Dyrdek, star of MTV’s “Rob and Big,” had been entered in the street competition but gave up his spot to another skater.

EA SKATE on the Wii- get your butt off the couch

When SKATE came out a while back on the Xbox 360, it blew all of the Tony Hawk games out of the water. I’ve played it on a regular basis since. Except recently, some scum bag broke in to my house and stole my Xbox, amongst other stuff. I’ve been shopping around for another Xbox, but after reading the review for the SKATE game coming out on Wii, I might have to wait for that. The controls for the Wii and the “balance” board are what makes this new game a winner. Instead of using your thumb, you use a combination of your foot and weight placement as well minimal button pressing. I can see it now, all the old guys will be busting big air in front of the TV. At least it will get them up off the couch (myself included). Check out Kotaku for a good review of the game and controls.

Limited Edition Hosoi Hammerhead x De La Barracuda

De La Barracuda and Christian Hosoi have collaborated on a new hammerhead. Hosoi has designed a second series of his Hammerhead deck, a limited edition available exclusively from Barracuda.

Due out tomorrow, June 20th, each Hammerhead is signed and numbered by Hosoi. If you’re in the LA area, make sure to stop by the new Barracuda shop and snag a deck or one of their new Hosoi tees developed in conjunction for this epic release.
