Over the past few months I have received a large number of emails regarding the topic 'Forces'.

As so many of you are asking for artists and inspiration I thought I would put together a post for everyone in need of this help.

Strength, Energy, Effort, Speed, Power, Exertion, Compel, Constrain, Control, Influence,

Convince, Resist, Stress, Push, Pull, Press, Friction, Tension, People, Character, Will.

Questions to ask when thinking about this topic, (and to include in your mindmap)
1. What forces/pressures do you feel in your everyday lives?
2. What are some forces/pressures in society today?
3.How are they different to the forces/pressures that occurred in history?
4. What are natural forces? (think about weather and natural disasters)
5. How do these natural forces effect peoples lives?
6. How to celebrities/Media put force/pressure on our lives?
7. How would you express the word 'forces' in colour? what colours would you use? what type of media/stroke?

When collecting research and contextual influences:

Consider how the artist has made the work.

Look at what materials have they used.

Why do you think they used these materials?

Do you think the medium effectively portrays the concept/ theme of the work?

Do you think there is more than one theme in the work?

Do you see inspiration/ influences from other artists, art movements or events in the work?

Hi Guys! Just a little something if you want to be a little creative from wherever you are!

My latest project for Visual Communications involves Stamps, Letters and Envelopes with the Theme "Feel the love"

I would love to get you all involved in my project and create a big piece of work involving visually exciting envelopes coming from all over the world! You can interpret the theme in any way you choose and the size of the envelope is completely up to you. Make sure all the artwork is on the envelope its self, anything you put inside will be looked at too!

Think outside the box, involve your culture, personality and style, get your whole class involved!

This project involves all ages so feel free to send me anything you have...

She was an art director the same age as me and has worked for so many big companies like American Express, Dell, Lane Crawford, Levi's, Microsoft, Nickelodeon, Nokia, Nike, Converse, Olay, Sprint,

My friend Constantin got a tattoo done which I drew, thought it would be good to share! He got it done at Tip of the Needle in North Vancouver, Canada. Four roses represent each of his family members and the G.W are his brother's initials...really strange to think that someone has got my drawing on their body for life! But its also really cool and I'm impressed with the way it's been done!

Loughborough Project in Progress

So I am going to Loughborough this September and they have sent me a project that is due in the day the course starts. The Project requires us to study 3 artists out of a list of about 140... Summer Art - Something to do...

I finished school the end of may and don't start Uni until end of September (Loughborough University) so I have LOADS of time to do things! Problem is all my art stuff is in a box which is a bit annoying so I went on a mission to find something else creative i could do..I found a dress from last year while i was packing my clothes and I thought it looked great back then put now not so much...so I decided i'm going to change it a bit and try beading...it's actually much harder than I thought! You have to have A LOT of patience for something like this because it takes forever, but it is well worth it in the end because it looks beautiful. So i went to Freiburg in Germany and brought some beads and materials such as 100% Nylon beading thread which is much stronger than normal thread to stop it from splitting...and as my dress is light beige i brought golden and brown beads of all shapes and sizes..i'm scared i'm going to run out! i'll keep posting the process but this is just the beginning...

I had an amazing opportunity to show my work off at an exhibition in my town in Switzerland. The Exhibition was hosted by an art teacher in my school who's work was incredible! A university student from Leister also showcased her work there too, her work is so cool you should check her blog out!

What i did for my Art GCSE Mock Exam

A lot of people have asked me to put a picture of what i did for my GCSE mock, it wasn't much as we only had about 4 hours to do it in, but I did a rainbow silk painting after being inspired by Mcqueen's Exotic colourful dresses.... the silk painting is about 1m x 60cm :)

How to store loose photographs in your Sketchbook...

Need a cool pocket in your sketchbook to keep loose photographs, spare cuttings, drawings...well this is a really neat way to keep it all in, and easy to do. Also you can colour it however you want!

Stuck on Transportation

When you are stuck on a topic and cannot think of where to start, a visually exciting mind map always helps you get motivated and creative and almost always helps you get ideas for your project. Here is an example I did for someone stuck on the topic Transportation:

From this mind map i found a few ideas that could help with this project;

1. Maps, road maps and the patterns that they make, the street lights at night all over the country.

2. Slow exposure photographs that capture the headlights of cars in a city to represent the transportation.

3. Making a piece of work while moving. Drawing lines by walking, running or sprinting.

5. Steampunk theme, machine, trains and wheels.

4. Flight, flying and the lines in the sky. Looking at the patterns of aeroplanes landing in the UK;

"Wow your sketch book is amazing!(: For Art we have to fill our whole art book with Ideas for our final piece linked with a artists- I have chosen Banksy! But i dont know how to set it out with ideas and what to write? Do you know any ideas for it or backgrounds layouts, he wants each page to be different:L"

A few years ago, before GCSE I made a Banksy Sketchbook and the project evolved around ceramics. Below are examples of pages that i created. For most of the backgrounds i used spray paint but as i was young and didn't have much experience in sketchbook making i didn't realise how much material i could actually use. My favourite layout is the scissors and dotted line on black paper, all done with stencils. One material that would look great on a background with Banksy is grainy modelling paste, the effect is that is has the same texture as a wall, and using spray paint on that, would introduce the idea of bringing the 'outside, street world' into your sketchbook.

I do Workshops!

I have recently done four workshops in Switzerland teaching Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11, GCSE, IB. My workshops include a wide range of topics. My workshops are tailored to any topic that you are currently studying so within a few weeks notice I can prepare the workshop for your class. I bring all my sketchbooks in so students can see them first hand and then I discuss the importance of sketchbook to studio theory. After, i then go on to the requested topic. I can do workshops and then after someone to one sessions with anyone that's in need of any further help. The previous workshops have been very successful and students have shown evident improvement in their sketchbook work.

Question about 'OBJECTS'

Hi I really love your work it really inspires me but for my art exam I have to pick a theme within the topic "objects" eg nature, personal objects etc I`m really stuck and have no idea what to do the only thing were suppose to do something different from last year my topic being flowers I really need help a bit of inspiration were only allowed around 8 A2 pages including research and final piece ideas IM CURRENTLY SITTING ON AN A BUT I REALLY WANT TO BRING IT UP TO AN A* however we have a total maximum of 8 weeks altogether thanks you inspire us all a lot !!! I WAS CONSIDERING NATURE AS AN OBJECT WITHIN FASHION...any ideas

Hi there, yes i can give you some ideas! Sorry about the delay was quite busy with school work. I thought about the topic objects and i immediately thought of an Artist called Zac Freeman : http://sweet-station.com/blog/2011/12/zac-freeman/

He is an awesome artists that literally uses random objects, and general rubbish to create his art. I know its quite obvious to the topic but sometimes thats a good thing, you could do so much with this, you could firstly create a piece of work on canvas with objects in the style he does, then you could make a sculpture, then paint that sculpture, and take some awesome photographs, you could even film yourself while you are making it and then fast forward it so you can have a movie to contribute to your project. Loads of things you could do!

If you want to move into a more fashion type of project then you could use this style to create some really interesting garments, take a look at lady gaga's meat dress, doll dress, bubble dress and you could combine Zac Freeman's style with lady gaga's ideas and create an awesome garment which you could then take awesome photographs in a photo-shoot...right now i can imagine you made a garment with lots of random objects and you are photographing it on a model in front of a blank background, then, you could slowly add more and more objects around her, until you cant really see the dress anymore and the model is surrounded by objects. You could then say this is evolved around the idea that the world is becoming too materialistic. When your art evolves around a central meaning it gives you so much to write about, especially when you believe in it..

I'm really stuck on what too do in my Art book!! I'm in my last year an this book gets marked! The pages are empty, I've looked at your work and it amazing i was just wondering weather you could give me some tips on what i could fill my pages with...the topic i am studying is 'Natural forms'..Please write back and help me!

" Natural Form: original form of an object in nature.

At the start of my first sketchbook I also studied natural forms, I looked at anything that was out in the nature, sketches of flowers, trees, water could take up some pages in your sketchbook to show off your observational skill. Take a look at Georgie O'Keeffe, her work is all about Natural Forms, you could study skulls and the skeleton structure, Organs of the human body. Leonardo's Sketchbooks would be interesting for this topic, his sketchbooks are works of art themselves! You could investigate into the subject of Skin, human skin old and new, plant surfaces, animal skin. You could look into the stages of decay and investigate how it changes over time to create some really nice developmental work, you could use both photography and painting in this. You can interpret natural form into fashion, like I did. I used the shapes and textures that I found while taking photos of plants and animals and turned it into a fashion design. If you are interested in pattern and textiles you could study nature's patterns, The skin of a zebra, leopard, the design of the fern leaves or the prints of tree bark, the dew on grass, waves, cobwebs etc. Start with some sketches, observational work, some artist study then move on to developing some of your own studio work with lots of

planning in your sketchbook to document the process. "

Waterloo - Painting on Photographs

NEW DISCOVERY - I have discovered that when painting directly onto photographs it makes such a cool effect! You can use almost anything, apart from watercolours, you can scratch into it, paint on it, print on it!
