Valle Nevado received a total of 50cm of snowfall during the weekend,(June 19-20) allowing the resort to officially open its doors for the 2010 season!

The resort is operating all lifts except the Andes Express and the lifts found in the backside of the resort, Valle del Inca. The resort hopes to open all lifts following a storm slated to hit around Wednesday and predicted to leave another 30cm.

The newly renovated Hotel Valle Nevado is open, as is the Hotel Puerta del Sol and all facilities.The Hotel Tres Puntas will open July 2.

June 26 to 30

Join us for our annual Gastronomic Festival at Valle Nevado from June 26 to 30. For four days Valle Nevado will present a variety of gastronomic events with top chefs that include cooking demonstrations and special dinners that celebrate fine dining and international cuisine.

Every day, an invited chef will focus on a specific culinary specialty and discuss the food style in-depth, followed with tastings. In the evening, chefs will host culinary galas in a variety of Valle Nevado's restaurants, accompanied by music from the cuisine's region, including Latin American, French, Spanish and Italian cuisine. Hello Skiers and Riders:

well, our frinds at Aspen have done it again.

Aspen Skiing Company announced today that it will extend the season at Aspen Mountain on weekends through April 25. Consistent snowfall and cold temperatures have given the resort excellent coverage and the deepest base depths so far this season. Aspen Mountain will open for the weekends of April 17-18 and 24-25.

“We’re excited to offer our third straight extended season,” said Rich Burkley, vice president mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “We’ve got great snow right now and will open as much terrain as we can. Who knows, they could even be the biggest powder days of the season based on recent storms.”

Specific lift and terrain openings will be announced prior to the weekend openings dependent on weather and conditions. Lifts will be run from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The Sundeck will fire up the grill and host a band each day and additional activities are being planned.

Adult tickets will be $39 per day, youth and seniors will pay $29 and children’s tickets will be $19. As always children six and under ski for free. Current season passholders from any other resort will pay just $29 for their lift ticket.

Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk will close on April 4. Snowmass and Aspen Mountain will close on April 11 and Aspen Mountain will reopen on the weekends of April 17-18 and 24-25.

Hey Julie!

We had a FABULOUS time!

I meant to send you an email to tell you THANK YOU so much.

We loved our room and the service at the motel was great. People were very friendly and gave us lots of great suggestions on where to eat at night. Our motel was in the perfect location; it was right in the town so we could walk around and explore after a long day of skiing. It was very nice to have the complimentary breakfast too.
We would go grab a quick breakfast and then hop on the earliest free shuttle to the clock tower.

Oh and Ski Butlers. Soo convenient!

The slopes were great and it was nice because we could choose from such a wide variety of trails to go on. I've included a picture of Signe and me at the top of one of our favorite runs.

Again thank you so much and I will definitely email you when I want to plan a trip again or if any of my friends are looking to go!
