these boots are my newest purchase. i am absolutely in love with them; usually breaking boots in are murder on my feet, but these are crazy comfy.

sorry i haven't been blogging frequently. school and my job has been occupying my time, but my last day until spring break is tomorrow! and since my job is currently moving locations, i'm not working as much right now.

this means more updates! i really mean it!

thanks for sticking around.

my life is nothing but photography.
i'm working in the studio this quarter at SCAD, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to do some shots in there for my blog.
some exciting news, though: i might be going to new york this summer for an internship! i'm trying my hardest to get there; wish me luck!

male models.

2011-12-18T23:16:00.003-05:00

one of my favorite internet pastimes is to stare at photos of male models. they're beautiful and talented--so, why not? there are a select few, of course, who have caught my attention. they have such unique styles, facial structure, and charisma--i sometimes find myself fangirl-ing over them. here they are, ordered (somewhat) from my top favorites.

Cole Mohr

Yuri Pleskun

(his cheekbones. his. cheekbones.)

Henry Pedro-Wright

Andrej Pejic

(if you haven't heard of this amazing androgynous model, look him up. god, he's beautiful!)

Thiago Santos

Ash Stymest

Max Krieger

enjoy the sexy.

when i get back to atlanta this friday, i hope to get a job at free people, a sister store of urban outfitters. they're very bohemian hippie chic. i think these pants will help me out with what they're looking for in an employee (as well as my amazing resume and cover letter).
what do you think?

marina nery.

2011-08-03T23:34:00.006-04:00

introducing the new kid on the block: marina nery.
she hails from bahia, brazil (you can NEVER have too many brazilian models). nery is only fifteen years old and nowhere near a professional, but she's definitely on her way. she's tall, skinny, sunkissed, and expressive--her portraits always keep your interest. to me, she is a true definition of unconventional beauty and she's quickly becoming one of my favorite models.

i bought some new jewelry the other day and i'm really into the pieces. i'm slowly dumping out a lot of my old, gaudy jewelry and finding some eye-catching ones.

with a bandea and a diy jean vest (i just cut off the sleeves of the jacket), the jewelry stood out perfectly.

day 3 in orlando! my family and i roamed the outlet malls for independence day sales. i wanted to wear something cool and breezy while walking in the sun.

afterwards, we had lunch at pf chang's. This probably isn't anything special to any of you, but this was my first time actually eating at one. there is none in tallahassee.

now, i'm off to wet n' wild. hot temperatures, long lines, dirty water! fun times!

gap-toothed models.

2011-06-28T17:34:00.004-04:00

models with imperfect teeth seem to be the hot trend in fashion editorials and advertising. usually one would think that a woman with a front teeth gap would be discouraged from the idea of being a successful model; this would make them anything but perfect. but these ladies are here to alter the definition of beauty and appeal.

here are my top five favorite gap-toothed models in order.

lauren dukoff.

2011-06-20T21:40:00.006-04:00

lauren Dukoff is my favorite photographer of all time. she is noted for her portraits of famous celebrities and musicians, but it's far from the regular pictures that you view in magazines. she strictly works in black and white (and sometimes color) film, a rare and increasingly fading photography style. her work is what inspired me to want to pursue a career of fashion portraiture and editorial photography. through her artistic eye, she shows the world more than just the pretty face of a celebrity--she shows their vulnerable side as well.

2011-06-15T20:38:00.004-04:00

solange knowles has to be my top fashion icon. her style, to me, is an eclectic mix of '70s disco, '80s pop, and '90s oldschool hip-hop. from her insanely huge afro to her killer stilettos, solange is a sight for sore eyes in the fashion world. plus, she does her own thing; she knows that she will never be "picture-perfect beyonce" and definitely isn't trying to compete with her sister. all the more reason to love her.

it's a monday in tallahassee, florida; it's 97 degrees; and i'm wearing all black! crazy, right? despite living in literal hell on earth, i managed not to die from heat stroke.

also, i dyed my hair red and blonde this past weekend! i didn't notice until after i got dressed that it matches my shirt. the colors kind of remind me of sherbet. i'm in love with it.
