Week 19

This week has been pretty crazy for baby Mango and I. I think the baby is going through a growth spurt because I certainly am getting more naps in this week:). I am feeling great though, just a little tired some times. Baby has been moving and kicking like crazy in my little tummy. The little dancer ;)... Mommy taught him/her well :). Speaking of which, Aaron and I find out the sex of our little dancer next week! Week 20! I'm about halfway through this pregnancy, its gone by so fast, it often feels like a blur. Good news is, I just found out my sweet friend Heather is due almost the same day as I am! We are going through our first pregnancies together and its so fun to hear all of the new updates going on with her! It looks like she's starting to get a bump too:). I just barely started showing, my bump is pretty small...but lets just say I can't hide it anymore:). Its fun though. I can't wait to find out if we're having a boy or a girl because I want to start decorating the nursery... any ideas on themes or color schemes? And if anyone has found good deals on cribs, rocking chairs, clothes, diapers, etc. Please let us know! We are trying to find ways to be creative with the nursery while still staying within a reasonable budget. Keep us posted if you see any great deals!

Week 9: The size of a Grape

This week was extremely eventful and fun! My husband and I decided to run a 10k with my Mom while visiting for fourth of July weekend. Some how I made it through the entire race without fainting! haha I ran a 10k in an hour and 22 minutes while being prego!! It was a very exciting goal to accomplish and I felt completely rejuvenated after I crossed that finish line. We even got medals that said "freedom run 2011 FINISHER". haha That made me feel really cool. lol After a weekend of bbq's, water fights, fire work shows, and lots of traveling... my body was exhausted! Fatigue really set in this week. I had to miss a few classes because I couldn't keep my eyes open or muster up enough energy to choreograph or dance. Its really frustrating when you feel pretty good and know you can normally do something, but then you become pregnant and all of a sudden you're taking naps 3 times a day on some days! I felt a little off today, and I was really craving something cold and sweet... so I made a strawberry, banana, orange smoothie and it was so delicious I ended up drinking a second one! That really boosted my energy and helped me feel a bit better. Other than fatigue, I haven't felt super horrible with morning sickness, but I have had my off days. When those occur, my best friends have become ginger ail and unsalted topped saltines. They really can help soothe an unsettled tummy. I've been doing pretty good though, over all. I like to eat a healthy well-balanced diet, and exercise regularly on top of dancing and choreographing, and I LOVE TO SLEEP! I hate being lazy, but I've really learned to listen to my body since I got pregnant. When my body needs something, I know I better listen to it or headaches, fatigue, stress, aches and pains, and even acne occur. Its better to find small ways to eliminate stress through out the day, rather than letting it all pile up and trying to find a way to cope with it all. Especially when you have quite a reduction to your normal energy levels. Life is good though, I have my first doctor's appointment this week and I am very excited to hear our baby's heart beat for the first time.

Life in the eyes of an Expectant Mom

This week has been full of surprises and changes. Our baby has doubled in size from a small blueberry to a KIDNEY BEAN. I'm due for my first doctor's appointment here in just a little bit and we get to hear the baby's heart-beat at our first ultra sound! We are so excited! Its still strange to think that my life is going to change completely (for the better) in just 7 months! I'm not sure I'm ready to be a new mommy, nor have I done enough research yet to get an idea of what I've gotten myself into:). I know that even though we weren't expecting to get pregnant until next year, the Lord has a plan for us in store... we may not know what His plan is or how things are going to work out, but we do have faith in His will. We trust in Him. Yesterday I didn't feel so hot, I've had a lot of stresses going on lately and so I was already somewhat exhausted. I think my lactose intolerant self is back while I'm pregnant; or at least it is here when I want to eat yogurt:). I ate some yesterday, and lets just say it didn't go over so well. :0) So I think I'll lay off the yogurt for now. I am very blessed however and haven't felt much sign of morning sickness. I still have my "off days" where I don't feel as wonderful or full of energy as I'd like to, but I can't complain. My life is pretty good right now. I have a husband that loves me, our baby developing inside of me, I'm dancing all the time, we have a beautiful home, and I have a lot of dear friends and family that love and support me and my husband. LiFe iS goOd :D.

I have felt very inadequate, tired, sad, lonely, and my self esteem has dropped immensely. I know some of these symptoms come from the extra hormones in my body from being pregnant, but I also know it is so important to do all that I can to keep my emotional health in a healthy range so that I am happy and our baby's health isn't on the line. I have reached my max this week and have become too stressed and overwhelmed to handle everything that has been put on my plate. So I decided I needed to somehow make a change and choose to fix my situation and find a way to have a brighter outlook on life. There's a lot of things that are out of my control, but the ones I was able to control, I did the best I could to better my situation. I'm still in the process of this mighty change I am trying to accomplish, but things are well in the workings and my life is starting to take a turn for the better. I have many doubts and fears about Motherhood and if I'll be able to do everything I am being asked to do, and I'm not going to sugar coat it. Life isn't easy right now, but I do know that if I keep pushing through and find ways to enjoy life along the way... there will be a light at the end of this tunnel I'm going through.

I'm Expecting

I was supposed to start today and for some odd reason, I didn't! I told Aaron we should probably take a test just in case. We ran down to the dollar store here in town and bought two. I took the first one that night and it had one dark pink line and one light pink line... I wasn't sure if it was invalid so I waited til the next morning to take p-test number two. I took it, and sure enough there were two hot pink bold lines right in front of my face! I could hardly believe it! I had to run over to my neighbor's house and ask her if it was for real, because I had never seen one of my p-tests come back positive! haha She assured me it wasn't joshin' me and we began coming up with creative and innovative ways to tell our families the big news.

We decided we would wait til Father's Day to tell everyone - even though that was the hardest secret to keep...ever! We bought our Dad's shirts that said "World's coolest Grandpa" and "All American Grandpa" then we left a little card in the box with it to explain we were expecting our first child. It was so fun to get the phone calls after they had opened their gifts and were all confused because they weren't our grandpas, they were our dads! haha little did they know what was coming their way! The best Father's day gift ever!!!!

Week 7: The Size of a Blueberry

Today starts week 7 and our baby has grown from the size of a lentil to the size of a blueberry! So exciting! I felt kind of strange the past day or two. Yesterday my tummy was very hot and I felt I had a lot of acid in my stomach. My neighbor gave me some ginger-ail and saltines to snack on at 11:30 at night to help settle my stomach. It really helped. My husband also brought in a cool wet washcloth and placed it on my tummy to cool it down. That also helped relieve the heat and acidic feeling. I have been tossing and turning these past couple of nights. I just can't sleep very well for some reason. This morning I woke up and decided to stay home from work and get some rest. I was feeling a little strange this morning too. I had a few cramping feelings in my lower abdomen, concerned, I spoke with the nurse and she said it was normal to feel cramping and spotting in the beginning stages of pregnancy. I was told I just needed to keep fluids in me and get some rest or take a warm bath to sooth the abdominal pain. Luckily I haven't really had morning sickness, but I do feel I need to get my pre-natals in me as soon as possible. They really help with the baby's development, especially early in the pregnancy. My first doctors appointment is going to be in a week or two and I'll have my first ultrasound. I'm pretty excited about that.

A penny for my thoughts?...

So I've been thinking a lot lately about the meaning of this life and the story behind each face I see or come in contact with, and have realized there's so much more than meets the eye. For example; I was reading my sister's blog today and read a quote that I'd like to comment on; "On a grave stone there are two dates and a dash inbetween... the first date is the day you entered this mortal existence... the second date is the day you left it.... and the dash... well, that's all up to you". The dash to me means our life on earth and what we choose to do with that life we've been given is completely up to us. I want to soak up every minute of life and enjoy it as if it were the greatest thing that ever happened to me!
"Yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future, and today... today is a gift and that's why we call it the present". I love that, its so true and I feel I haven't been treating every day as a gift. I just attended my aunt's funeral and all of these thoughts listed above have been prevelantly on my mind...its as if I can't escape these thoughts... in a good way. Life is too short to not live it up the moment the sun rises every morning. Today is a gift to be cherished and I feel that I can step it up. I know I will have down days, and that's ok... but I know that even if there's one dream that doesn't come true... I have a million dreams to go, they're all just hiding up my sleeve. -Jessie Clark Funk ....ya know?
After all is said and done, what matters most is my every day decisions to come closer to my Heavenly Father... and some how, all else falls into place. Thank goodness for an eternal perspective and for my eternal family. :)

I just read your blog and want to comment but dont know how so here it is:)

Sis I know you can do it. Just like Eddy quotes nike all the time "Just do it!" It will all be worth it, I can promise you that. I started reading your blog and instantly became lit up with joy and excitement for you! I want you to make it past the waiting room as well. If you think about it, you're already there right now... you're inside the temple which is the first step and now you're patiently waiting to be worthy to finally enter. That's so exhilerating sis! You CAN do it! I'm with you every step of the way, "take one step at a time, there's no need to rush... its like learning to fly or fallin in love... its gonna happen when its supposed to happen, then you'll find the reasons why... ONE STEP AT A TIME". I love you sis, and I know that now that you've made it inside and are in the waiting room... DON'T WAIT! What I mean is, constantly be working on taking one step at a time and work towards that goal of entering the celestial room (aka celestial kingdom and all its glory), it takes constant work and strenuous effort, but I know you and I know you can do that. I help teach these little special ed preschoolers and every day they have to memorize a quote the teacher gives to them for the year and it goes like this, "I am GOOD, I am SMART, I am STRONG, In my HEART". and I think that is perfect for you, you are good, you are smart, you are strong in heart and mind and spirit. I love you sis and I'm with you all the way! Keep on keeping on and soon you'll make it to the top and be there encouraging others to do the same beacause, "YOU MADE IT"!!!! :D

Sar Bear came into my room at 6:20 this morning and told me I really wanted to go and look in our kitchen... I went to see what all of the fuss was about and found three arrows pointing to a black dress and high heels on the floor and a poster on the door that read, "Be ready in ten minutes... just kidding I know you better than that, be ready by 6:50am". I rushed into the bathroom to get all dolled up and my roomie Meghan was so sweet and helped me curl my hair real quick. I ran downstairs to meet up with Aaron and ended up arriving at 7:10 on the dot! I was "fashionably late". We drove to the temple and walked around for a bit, but it was pretty cold so we made an executive decision to get back in the car:). Aaron suggested he and I should study the scriptures together and read up on the topic of marriage, so we did just that. he read some from the bible dictionary and other verses that went along with marriage, but the one that stood out to me was D&C 8: 5-8 where it talks about the gift of Aaron and how only God could give me this gift and doubt not, that I could hold the gift of Aaron in my hands and do marvelous works! haha He's good! Then after our scripture study, he asked if I wanted to listen to some tunes I curiously answered, "sure?" our song just happened to be the one he played (Everyting I do, I do it for you by Brian Adams) and then he got out of the car. He came around to my door and opened it, while offering his hand to me and asking, "may I have this dance Kimberly Ann?" I graciously accepted his offer and we danced to our song in the parking lot of the Rexburg Temple at sunrise. After he learned how to waltz a bit and spun me a few times, he told me he had another gift for me. I asked if he had a question to go along with that gift and he said he did if I had the right answer ;). He got down on one knee and opened up a little black ring box and while holding my hand said this, "Kimberly Ann Schofield, will you be my wife?" I just got really wide eyed and was thinking how big that rock was that he was about to give me! haha I paused for a moment and then asked innocently, "well, do I have to put it on myself or were you going to do that for me?" Poor guy:). He took it out of the box really quick and said, "oh! Yeah I can do that", as he hurried and slipped it onto my left hand ring finger. Then we both realized it was way too big! I'm a 4 1/2 and it was a size 6! Oh well! He stood up and we hugged and kissed and the sun hit the center of my diamonds just right and it sparkled so beautifully! Then I pulled away real quick and said, "Oh yeah! P.S. I will marry you Aaron Heath!" haha and the rest is history:).

Welcome Home Elder Aaron Montgomery

My Missionary Elder Montgomery returns home with honor tomorrow! January 14, 2010! I am so excited! It has been a crazy and eventful two years. He and I have learned new things and grown together rather than apart from each other. We tried to write one another every week without fail and gained great communication skills through our long distance relationship. This September will be our six year mark since we first met! Six years! And it has been all long distance! I cannot wait to see him in person on Friday for the first time in two years! I can officially say I have faithfully "lived" (not waited doing nothing at all) for the two years. He asked me to wait for him in 2007 and his uncle Mark told me I would be married with three kids by the time he arrived home... so I decided to prove him wrong:). I can't wait to see his face when I meet up with him and the rest of the family for his homecoming and shock him by saying, "I did it! I waited the full two years! I'm here to stay!" haha. This weekend will be one of the happiest weekends of my life. I am so excited, I can hardly stand the wait until tomorrow! I hope he calls me as soon as he's released! He is such a huge part of who I am and my better half. Life is good. I'll keep ya'll updated and take lots of pics so that ya'll can join in my happiness with me:).

I was researching different habits of the wealthy in order to create my own "rich thoughts". These are some of the things I learned about gaining a rich mindset that I wanted to share with all of you, to give you a beacon of hope in the difficult circumstances we are living under at this time.

The wealthy live below their means
They allocate their time, energy, and money efficiently in ways conductive to building wealth
Financial Independence-is more important than having a high social status
Their parents didn't provide economic assistance
Their adult children are economically self sufficient
They are proficient in targeting market opportunities
They choose the right occupation

LAW OF ATTRACTION-You attract into your life what you are thinking about.

1. You have no limited self belief
2. Recognize the importance of time
3. Seek out other people of higher social status as a means of mentorship
4. Rich people use many expenses that they view as investments ex; getting in debt for school. By spending a certain amount of money to acquire an asset or skill, they know they will get back what they spent in the future.
5. Strong Self Confidence - many rich people exhibit a high level of self-confidence that is often contagious.
6. Good Money Habits - rich people invest along with putting money aside in savings accounts. They don't spend their money aimlessly buying things that have no real value such as lottery tickets.
7. Philanthropy-give to a charity and pay tithing (if you are a religious person).

Me and the girlies I roomed with at the hotel:). Ashley, Liz, Kassie, and I. These girls are so much fun and are my teammates as well. I love 'em to death! Everything from our mildew smelling air conditioner to painting white out on our nails and head massages after all day bun head... these girls are a bunch of goof balls and we had such a great time together!

Sisters compete against each other and root for one another's teams! My team's medley was entitled the "black eyed peas latin medley" and Steph's was a "Michael Jackson Latin Medley". Her team took first and my team took third. I am so proud of her! Her team did so well! We had a blast in Ohio!

I made Momma Montgomery's homemade crescent rolls and my family devoured them in two seconds! So I had to make another batch! haha and these are no easy to make rolls, they take four hours to make! bah! But it was fun helping my mom out by cooking with her this Thanksgiving:). Good times!

The first time I made a forever and a day lots of layered rainbow jell-o for Thanksgiving, and it turned out! Yummy!
