I was thinking on if I was going to write this post at all. I think I decided that I will schedule this to publish tonight at 2355. So that it will make less impact. I really am just posting this to kind of get it off of my chest. So if you read this and I know you I really do not want to discuss it.

I was remembering my father on what would have been his 67th birthday September 23rd and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts. I happened to have to go to Oberlin, LA today to do some computer work. Which reminded me of two things regarding my father.

Deer Camp 6 Months Old

First to get to Oberlin, LA I have to go through Kinder, LA which always brings back a lot of memories regarding my father. The picture above is on of me at about 6 months old and my father at deer camp. We used to go every year around Thanksgiving or Christmas time when I would get off of school. We lived in Welsh, LA and usually hunted on a lease with my Uncle Warren somewhere in northern Louisiana. So we would have to pass through Kinder, LA every year. We would usually stop at Fausto's to eat on the way. There was aslo a ice cream place in Kinder that we would sometimes stop at on the way home and get malts or something along those lines. I have some really good memories of those times.

The second thing that I was reflecting on today being in Oberlin and working on some computer issues is the fact that I am in my profession and enjoy my profession because of my father. He was the first on to introduce me to the computer and get me excited about it. I remember having a computer in our home that ran DOS and had some GUI(Graphical User Interface) that ran on DOS. This was before Windows was common place. Windows may have been out but we did not run it. I remember my father stating that he liked the command line interface of DOS more. He was probably the only one in my family that I could actually talk computers with and would not completely glaze over and would understand some of what I was talking about.
