Sky Blue Seed marks my first blogging journey with my 2 girls - what started out as documenting the simple everyday happenings of our family turned into something even more wonderful. Thank you so much to all those who have followed my blog from its humble beginnings! I so appreciate every comment and word of encouragement you have given!

It's been a long time coming, but I'll be closing the door on this site and moving to a new home in the blogosphere.

Welcome to the world little Olivia~

Danny and Corina told me that Olivia would sometimes laugh and smile right before she fell asleep....for a newborn that young to laugh audibly is pretty rare and I didn't believe them... until I heard her give the biggest belly laugh and smile at her parents. So amazing! Days old and already so full of joy!

Congratulations Danny and Corina,

and thanks for hanging out behind the lens

(despite massive sleep deprivation)!

Some of my favorite shots of my girls from 2013~

At lastly, the four of us together in our backyard~

Yes, I shot this with a tripod last minute for our Christmas cards,

and yes, we were FREEZING in this photo, as you can tell by our expressions!

But I was determined to be in the frame

because one of my goals this year is to take more photos WITH my girls,

not just of them.

Babies are my kryptonite.
Especially ones with cute names like Penelope~

It was so special to reconnect with Gracie after all these years and meet her little girl. I won't lie, I had some tears in my eyes while editing these images because I know how special little Penelope is to this whole family - the first grandchild, so loved and so eagerly anticipated.

We had wanted to get some adorable sleeping photos of Baby P, but she had other plans - I think she wanted to show us her beautiful eyes, and I can't blame her! Smart girl.

This post is image heavy...remember, babies are my kryptonite. :)

Scott's father built this crib with his own hands when Scott was a baby...

and now he gets to see his first grandchild sleep in it....

Penelope, your grandpa is pretty darn cool.

One day, I hope you can show this picture to your own grandchildren

and tell them stories about their great-great-grandpa. That's what these family photos are all about, helping us to remember and tell stories.

A freezing day but these kids did so well!
This family has three little ones - 4 yr. old, 3 yr. old, and 20 month old - thankful that despite all the work it must've taken for the parents to get everyone ready, that we were able to capture this time in their lives!

Loved meeting up with this family of three and capturing little Kyrie~
His smiles just melted me... what an adorable little boy and so good natured!

I knew Carrie from back in the day when she was just a little girl - and to see her again, now with a beautiful family, was pretty awesome. They wanted to keep it local and take pictures in their neighborhood - so we went to the Columbia City library, a spot I've never been to before but a beautiful spot to shoot! So glad we were able to capture all the colors of fall in this session~

I love having two girls, but after meeting this family, I think having two boys must be pretty awesome too. These boys were full of energy and ran their hearts out in our session. Makes me laugh thinking about how sweaty I was afterwards!
Sophia is an old college friend and she totally looks the same after all this time - and now with a beautiful family in tow! So great to see her handsome boys.
