Once emotion is mentioned, the general assumption is that this term (or issue) is synonymous with women. This is not necessarily so. Both men and women have a need to feel loved and emotionally connected to their partners. While women are unique creatures and require a lot of emotional support, the men also have emotional needs that should be met. Most men are more controlled and don’t usually have issues centered on emotions, but their disinclination to showing or appreciating emotions could make them seem cold or unfeeling and thus, create issues in relationships.

You have to connect with your partner’s emotional needs on some level. Women are very attached to their emotions and that’s just nature (or hormones, if you wish). They want their men to be supportive and understanding of them. They want to ‘feel’ their men even when they are not together physically. So the men have to figure out ways to engender these feelings.

It helps if the men can learn to talk to their women. That is one level on which you can connect emotionally. Find common grounds to discuss irrespective of age, interests or status. Learn to talk about your feelings too. Women find it easy enough to talk, so for them, talking is not really an issue. What may be an issue is what they talk about. Men will appreciate and respond to meaningful conversations, not just trivia.

If you are in a relationship, ask yourself this question: ‘Who is my best friend?’. I am quite certain that some people have best friends who are not their partners. Have you ever wondered why this is so? Do you think that is ideal?

Your partner should be your friend; the best of them. You will find out that if you can connect on that level, the issue of emotional support will be addressed. Sadly, many people reason that boyfriends/girlfriends will come and go, but best friends will always be there. That’s why they believe that that partners and best-friends are antonyms.

If you are unable to meet the emotional needs of your partner, it is very likely that he/she may look elsewhere for companionship. Simply put, he/she will look for emotional support from a better or best friend while you remain the good friend whose relationship may end up on the rocks.

4. Friends - Be friends with your partner. Learn about the stuff he or she likes and take a liking to it. So even if you’re not really interested act like it. Be their buddy first, a relationship is not a job, let loose and have fun together you’d be surprised.

5. Spontaneous - Do random, unexpected things together. Surprise your partner with a night out or with random gifts or text or calls. Being spontaneous shows that you want to add excitement to your relationship and that he or she is worth trying new things with and for.

6. Space - No one likes someone who is always in their space. Give your partner space; you don’t always have to be together every day. Give yourself enough space to miss each other. Go out with friends from time to time. You don’t always have to be with your partner 24/7 it gets boring and that’s how arguments occur. Learn to miss each other.

7. Don’t Criticize - Never past judgment on your partner. You are their biggest supporter; learn to be there for them even if you
disagree. Agree to disagree for them.

Yesterday, September 30, I was going through my contacts on BBM and I saw an update by Ghanaian musician and actress Diamond mostly referred to as Ghana’s Lady Gaga. On her status, she had written “best news ever!!! Castro De Destroyer is Alive, Glory be to God for answering our prayers #ComeHome”.
Hiplife artiste Theophilus Tagoe popularly known as Castro and his friend Janet Bandu went missing at Ada on July 6 this year. We have read different reports about the two but none has led to the whereabouts of Castro and his missing friend Janet.

As curious as bloggers are, I contacted her to know what exactly she meant by her update in order for her to reveal what she knows that we don’t know. According to Diamond, a close relation to Castro has confirmed to her that Castro is alive. Who that relative is, Diamond was not ready to disclose.

Power consumers must brace themselves for 14-hours of power cuts during the day time.
This will reduce to 12-hours during the peak period for power consumption.
The Electricity Company of Ghana has finally released the timetable for the ongoing load shedding.
The PURC hinted that it would sanction the ECG if it failed to release the schedule today.
The ECG delayed the release of the schedule as power providers shutdown plants due to a workers’ strike in Nigeria.

The Public Relations Officer for the ECG, William Boateng in an interview with Starr News said although Nigeria has resumed gas supply to Ghana consumers must conserve electricity.

There comes a point in once life where one must do things differently to push a certain agenda and that is what Ghana Commercial Bank seems to be doing right now. Since their re-branding strategy has received lots of criticisms for critics and the general public alike.

GCB has over the years been heavily criticized for having unfriendly tellers, not-so-beautiful and old staff and the most annoying and poorest service in the history in terms of banking in Ghana as much as they are the richest bank in Ghana. But it seems all of that is going to change as they have different plans.
Ghana Commercial Bank has for a long time been seen as the bank for old people. Any young person who saves with the bank is laughed at by his/her peers for being old school. They are normally called “kolo” or old fashioned.
Ghana Commercial Bank recently re-branded into GCB Bank Limited with a new logo and all but that move has been heavily criticised by the public and industry players as being a case of old wine in a new bottle. They are still seen as being a grown ups (oldies) centered bank and not youth appealing.

However it looks like the bank has a surprise for everyone as they have decided to employ heavily endowed women to help them penetrate the youth market and entice the youth to come do business with them. To help achieve this agenda, the bank is in the process of employing women like Victoria Hammah, Joselyn Dumas, Peace Hyde and a couple of other heavily endowed women to various capacities in their institution.

I know you are going like, seriously??? Yes, it’s true, Victoria, Joselyn, Peace and a host of other beautiful, heavily endowed women are just about to become GCB Bank Limited employees.

According to information from the bank, plans are far advanced to employ these women into various positions in the company to help drive the GCB for the youth agenda.

According to sources, an official of the bank indicated that the only way to attract the youth especially the guys, was to throw at them something they couldn’t resist. He then asked us;

“Will you resist if Peace Hyde or Victoria Hammah walks up into your company to advice you to come save or take a loan with GCB, definitely not right? That is what we want to achieve. These women are admired by both sexes for their assets therefore we deem it as a very good startegy to bring them on board our company to help push our brand and our youth agenda.

Bank Of Ghana Introduces New GHC 50 Deposit Fee

Due to a deteriorating economy, Bank of Ghana has released measures to cover costs incurred by banks whenever a customer makes a deposit into their bank account.
Bank of Ghana introduced a new GHC 50 deposit fee Wednesday morning to all financial institutions in the country.
“Starting Wednesday September 17, we have instructed all financial institutions in the country to charge customers who make any form of deposit,” bank spokesperson Mr. Yaw Awuah told the media, adding that the GHC 50 will be automatically deducted any time a customer makes a deposit into their account, whether personal or commercial.

“We’re strongly confident that this fee will help us resuscitate the dying cedi. As long as customers continue to make deposits, they will become accustomed to the GHC 50 fee and soon it will not be an issue for most of the clients to the financial institutions in Ghana.”

The Bank warned that if deposits decrease as a result of this new measure, they will be left with no choice but to increase the deposit fee to GHC 100.

Police to Invite Dr. Maurice Ampaw and Others Over 'Castro' Comments

Private legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw has for sometime now been talking about the Castro-Janet Bandu missing saga. Until he said he was not going to talk to them media again, he had stated that he will deliver all the information he discovered during his investigation to the police the end of this month.

The lawyer was reported to have said that Castro is alive and he knows his whereabouts. Yesterday, September 15, the Ghana police service had a press conference to tell Ghanaians their findings after months of investigating the Castro-Janet missing case.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday, the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police, COP Prosper Kwame Agblor pleaded with the Lawyer to make any information to facilitate their investigations known to the police.

“That is why I said anyone who has any information should come to us and volunteer the information. Because I’ve already stated that we are still searching for them. If the lawyer feels that they are not dead, it’s in line with what I’ve stated that we are not considering them dead until we find their bodies. So if that lawyer has anything he should come and volunteer the information to us then together we will work to unravel the mystery.
We are also in contact with neighbouring countries through Interpol in our investigation. We have requested them to alert us anytime unknown persons who answer to the description of Castro and Janet are found within their borders. Similarly, we have also alerted them to inform us when unknown bodies are found.”

ECOWAS Chairman John Mahama refused to shake hands with the heads of state of the three Ebola stricken nations he visited on Monday September 15, over fear of contracting the deadly Ebola virus, the BBC’s Umaru Fofana has said.
Sierra Leone’s president met Ghanaian President Mahama yesterday to discuss issues over the EBOLA outbreak in their countries and probably how he could help “with his mouth” and the picture above popped up.

“Interesting that Ghanaian President and ECOWAS Chairman and his host President Ernest Bai Koroma did not shake hands during the brief visit to Sierra Leone today. Very interesting how both men wanted to do the handshake and both held back. Ebola you are TERRIBLE!,” Fofana wrote on his Facebook.

Dead or Alive! Ghana Police to Announce Outcome of 'Castro and Janet Bandu' Investigations Today

Whether hip-life artiste Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro, is dead or alive will be put to rest by the police at a press conference today (Monday).

Castro disappeared mysteriously with a lady friend, Janet Bandu, about three months ago during a jet-ski ride at Aqua Safari, a beach resort at Ada in the Greater Accra Region.
Castro’s disappearance on July 6, 2014 has kept the nation wondering about what might have happened to the hip-life artiste and his lady friend.
While some people believe that Castro is dead, snippets of information gathered from family members and friends of the hip-life musician indicate that all might not be lost after all.
After extensive investigations, including a search for the bodies of Castro and his lady friend along the beaches of Ada by Marine Police personnel and local fishermen, no definitive statement has been made on whether they are dead or alive.
Some spiritualists even joined in the search, saying Castro might have gone for spiritual consultation with the marine spirit – Maame Water.
But today, the police will put the matter to rest and possibly end speculations about whether the two are dead or otherwise, when they announce to the public the outcome of police investigations.

Family and friends

Since the disappearance of Castro and Bandu, family members of especially the lady have granted a number of media interviews demanding the whereabouts of their relation.
Until last week, Castro’s father, Mr John Eshun, had not been heard about his son’s disappearance, but he finally broke his silence.
In an interview with a local radio station, Mr Eshun was alleged to have stated that his son was just missing but not dead.
A popular Ghanaian musician and close friend of Castro, Akoo Nana, was also quoted as saying that his friend was alive.
He is said to have claimed that the families of the two missing persons wanted speculations to calm down before letting out any information on the whereabouts of Castro.

15 Dead, Several Trapped As T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations In Lagos Collapses

The headquarters of T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun, Lagos collapsed Friday around 1pm.
With emergency rescue operations underway, a SaharaReporters correspondent learned that 15 people have been pulled from the wreckage of the six-floor structure, which had been under construction. Several are however reported to be trapped still.

Lagos State Emergency Management Authority Public Relations Officer, Friday Adeboayo, confirmed the recovery of the 15 dead bodies.
At press time, media was allowed very limited access to the site and calls to the facility’s management went unanswered. Details will follow as they are made available.

I Received Death Threats For Talking About Castro

A renowned Ghanaian legal luminary has revealed receiving death threatening messages and phone calls for making a public statement on the disappearance of a hip life musician known as CASTRO DE DESTROYER.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw in an interview on frontline, the breakfast show on Accra-based Rainbow radio station 87.5fm with studios in London, in the united kingdom disclosed that close allies and some fans of the skipper of the Ghana national team Asamoah Gyan warn him to shut his mouth and desist from making any public utterances in connection with the disappearance of Castro (Theophilus Tagoe) who is said to have went on party spree at the Ada beach resort in the Greater Accra Region.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw charged the Ghana police service to invite all persons who travelled with the popular musician to the resort where his disappearance occurred principally been Asamoah Gyan.According to lawyer Ampaw cronies of Asamoah Gyan, threatened to take his life if he dare make any statement on the sad disappearance of the musician.

He disclosed that the threats encouraged him to initiate private investigations into the matter which has now become delicate and sensitive to discuss due to how the Gyan family handle anyone who mentions it.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw disclosed that Theophilus Tagoe a.k.a Castro is not dead and speculated that he might be in the hands of some kidnappers.

He told Rainbow radio 87.5fm that he would hold a press confab at the end of September 2014 to tell the whole world his investigative findings which he believes would lead the police service to arrest all the people who know about the disappearance of Castro.

He noted that he cannot be made to shut-up by the beatings of other individuals by the Gyan brothers nor the death threats.

Castro Is Alive - Akoo Nana Declares

A popular Ghanaian musician and a close friend of Theophilus Tagoe a.k.a Castro, the disappeared hip-life musician has declared that his friend whom many people perceived to have drowned at the Ada Beach Resort is alive.
The disappearance or perceived “death” of the 34-year-old musician about 3 months ago keep generating debates and controversy in the country.

Calls by legal pundits for the arrest of people who went to the beach resort with Castro by the police seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

Some people including a journalist working with Daily Graphic, Daniel Kenu has been molested by the brother of principal suspect, Asamoah Gyan, Ghana Black Stars Skipper speaking to the media in an exclusive interview on Friday September 12th 2014, the Mugu hit maker said his close friend is not dead.

Akoo Nana stated that the families of all those involved want speculations to calm down before letting out any information on the whereabouts of Castro.

WAEC Releases 2014 BECE Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of the 2014 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Out of the 420,188 candidates from 12,562 schools who wrote the examination, 11,759 candidates from 337 schools have had their results withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into alleged examination malpractices.

Stanine grading system

A statement signed by the Principal Public Affairs Officer of WAEC, Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, explained that the Stanine grading system was used for the BECE, with Grade One as the highest and Grade Nine the lowest.
Stanine (Standard NINE) is a method of scaling test scores on a nine-point standard scale with a mean of five and a standard deviation of two.
Thirteen of the candidates had their candidature nullified because they were found not to be bona fide students of the schools which registered them for the examination and that their continuous assessment scores had been forged.

Examination malpractices

The statement further said 398 candidates had their subject results cancelled.
The affected candidates, it said, were involved in various examination malpractices, such as bringing foreign materials into the examination hall and collusion.
“Further, the entire results of 64 candidates have been cancelled. These include those who brought mobile phones to the examination hall and received external assistance,” it added.

Scratch card

The statement said the council was in the process of despatching the results to the schools through the municipal/district directors of education.
“Meanwhile, the council has hosted the results online and candidates who so desire may access their results online at the council’s website using a scratch card,” it advised.

Statistics

A total of 422,946 candidates, made up of 219,394 males and 194,854 females, registered for the examination.
The figure was 8.15 per cent higher than that of the previous year.
The candidates were from 12,562 schools and the examination was conducted at 1,431 centres.
The WAEC statement explained that 2,758 candidates, representing 0.59 per cent of those who had initially registered for the examination, were absent.

Castro’s Parents Being Bribed to Shut Up - Lawyer

Private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has alleged that some individuals close to Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan have attempted bribing the parents of missing hiplife artist, Theophilus Tagoe to keep mute over his fate.
Tagoe, popularly known as Castro and a lady friend, Janet Badu, disappeared on the Ada estuary while jet skiing on a holiday with Gyan at Ada. The two have not been found since the accident. Critics of the Stars’ skipper have accused him of using his friend for spiritual purposes.

Speaking to Adom FM, Ampaw said he is aware of efforts by some powerful people in society to ensure that media discussions over the matter is ceased.

“I am told the guy is not dead and that he has changed his haircut. Who are they trying to joke with,” he fumed.

“Now I am provoking the police to act. I can tell you for a fact that attempts have been made to bribe Castro’s parents, but they failed,” He alleged. Maurice Ampaw had earlier called for the arrest of Gyan over the matter.
