[RESOLVED] Subscription calls being charged

Some users are finding that they're being charged for calls which would normally be included in their subscriptions.

We're investigating this urgently, and will update this post with more information as soon as it emerges.

Update @ 1824 BST, 30th June: The problem has now been resolved. Stay tuned.

Update, 4th July: If you were charged incorrectly for calls due to this fault, we will be refunding the charges in full within the next 48 hours.

Changes to prices for calls to landlines and mobiles in certain destinations

It's a pleasure to announce that prices for calls to landlines/mobiles in Turkey will all be lowered. The decreases are effective as of 10:00 GMT, 17th June 2009.

Turkey decreased from €0.111 to €0.024 per minute
Turkey - Mobile - Others decreased from €0.173 to €0.13 per minute
Turkey - Mobile - Telsim decreased from €0.173 to €0.13 per minute
Turkey - Mobile - Turkcell decreased from €0.173 to €0.13 per minute
Turkey-Ankara decreased from €0.111 to €0.024 per minute
Turkey-Antalya decreased from €0.111 to €0.024 per minute
Turkey-Istanbul decreased from €0.055 to €0.024 per minute
Turkey-Izmir decreased from €0.111 to €0.024 per minute

Due to increases from our suppliers prices for calls to landlines/mobiles in the following destinations will increase slightly:

Albania - Mobile increases from €0.162 to €0.18 per minute
Benin increases from €0.121 to €0.176 per minute
Comoros and Mayotte increases from €0.323 to €0.456 per minute
El Salvador - Mobile increases from €0.12 to €0.178 per minute
Malawi increases from €0.07 to €0.105 per minute
Malawi - Mobile increases from €0.097 to €0.115 per minute
Swaziland increases from €0.12 to €0.156 per minute
Togo increases from €0.193 to €0.315 per minute
Wallis and Futuna increases from €0.668 to €0.864 per minute

These changes will be effective at 12:00am GMT, 20th July 2009.

ABN AMRO maintenances for iDeal payments until 5th July

Dear customers in the Netherlands - our partners have informed us that in the next couple of weeks, ABN AMRO will be performing scheduled maintenance for iDeal payments.

During the maintenance windows, payments may end in failure. If that should be the case for you, we kindly ask that you try again later. Each maintenance window should last no more than a couple of hours.

Boleto payment method temporarily removed

Due to a technical problem we have temporarily removed the Boleto payment method. Sorry about this. We are working to resolve the problem with Boleto and will update this post once the problem is solved.

Until then, please use an alternative payment method.

Swedbank and SEB payments are failing if personal data contains non-Latin characters, e.g. åéîøü

If you use Swedbank or SEB to pay for Skype Credit or subscriptions and have personal data which contains non-Latin characters, e.g. åéîøü or similar, your payment will fail to work correctly.

We're working on a fix and will update this post when the problem is resolved.

Swedbank and SEB payments are delayed

If you use Swedbank or SEB to pay for Skype Credit or subscriptions, you may notice delays to your payment. Our payment partner resolved the problem yesterday and new payments are now being handled correctly. If you made a payment on Wednesday 3rd or Thursday 4th June, it’ll be processed as soon as possible.

[RESOLVED] Problems with Auto-Recharge and Subscription agreements

Over the last few days, some of you may have experienced a problem with automatic payments for both Auto-recharge and Unlimited calling subscriptions. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to you.

This problem was picked up by our technicians immediately. However, a small number of agreements remain affected, but don't worry - affected agreements should be reactivated today.

We hope this hasn't caused you too much trouble.

UPDATE: All the agreements that were wrongfully canceled have been activated.

Auto-recharge cancellation emails sent out wrongfully

[RESOLVED]Skype names created with iPhone are redirected to PCHome when buying Skype Credit

If you created your Skype name using Skype for iPhone, you will be redirected to our Taiwanese partner PCHome’s website when you attempt to buy Skype Credit.

We realise that this is incredibly annoying for the vast majority of you, and we’re working hard to fix the problem – we hope to have a fix in place at some point tomorrow, and will update this post as soon as things are back to normal.

If you create your Skype name using any other version of the Skype software, e.g. Skype for Windows or Skype for Mac, you won’t be affected, and so if you’re a new Skype user, we suggest that you download Skype on to your computer first and create your Skype name there before signing in with Skype for iPhone.

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved for the majority of those affected today, April 3rd.

Due to the technical problem in our systems, the purchase of Skype Extras does not work at the moment.

If you have been charged for an Extra but did not receive the product, please contact our customer support team for a refund.

Our engineers are working on the problem, and once they've solved it we will update this post. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

UPDATE: Issue has been resolved and purchasing Skype Extras is working again. All users who did not receive product, will be issued refund for the undelivered service.

Bank transfers are not available in Vietnam

Starting from the 1st April 2009, we will temporarily remove the bank transfer payment option in Vietnam. We are working closely with our payment partner in order to resolve this situation.
Until resolution, please use one of the other payment options available in Vietnam.
