<p>Overview:</p>

<p>The individual will contribute to the strategic thinking of  Skype's business in EMEA, which is Skype's largest region in terms of markets (120+) and revenues as well as for the Mobile Business Unit which has the potential to make Mobile a significant access point to complement desktop.</p>

<p>Specifically, the individual will need to work across the EMEA and Mobile Business Units under the guidance of the GM to ensure that there is a robust planning process in place to deliver on the company's three year strategic plan and to ensure that the appropriate presentations and documents are prepared to support both areas.  Additionally, it will be important for the individual to make significant contributions around the strategic focus and vision within EMEA as well as Mobile.</p>

<p>A critical part of the role will be to provide leadership within the EMEA team and Mobile Business Units on business planning and to work closely with the Consumer and Skype for Business teams.  The individual will also need to engage with and leverage support from Finance, HR, Technologies, Strategy, Communications, and Legal and Government Relations.</p>

<p>Key metrics will include growth in new users, paid conversions, reduction in customer churn, brand awareness, and brand consideration.  Lastly, the individual will have a key role on the budgeting and managing for the  EMEA and Mobile P&L's.</p>

<p>Specific Responsibilities:</p>

<p>Provide input on an EMEA and Mobile vision and strategy around marketing, sales, PR, and brand in line with the overall company strategy.<br />
Develop and manage a business planning process across EMEA and Mobile to ensure that as the business grows, there are robust processes and communications in place to ensure that that the two areas are providing the necessary information that the business requires<br />
Be responsible for driving the preparation and subsequent management of the EMEA and Mobile budgets<br />

The Brief</p>

<p>Reporting to the GM of Consumer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic commercial partnerships for the distribution of Skype's Windows/Mac and Linux clients on third party hardware platforms. The two primary goals of the position are to increase distribution and awareness of the Skype platform and to drive conversion into paid services utilising the partner assets and channels.</p>

Skype consist of User Interface, Library, Backend Services, Telecom services etc... Skype also runs on many platforms (Win, Mac, Linux, PPC, Windows Mobile, embedded Linux) Win, Mac and Linux UI is tested in Desktop QA team along with toolbars and plugins. We run functional blackbox and services related tests on UI level. We also do sanity check and regression testing, write testplans and develop test cases. More and more we try to automate testing to increase the performance and accuracy in testing. Typical Skype Windows release has hundreds of bugs that have to be fixed in short time and retesting scheduled to confirm the fix. <br></p>

<p>The position is in Desktop Quality Assurance team where Windows, Linux and Mac user interface is tested. You will report to Desktop QA manager and work self responsible in small virtual teams on new or updated features and functionalities. The virtual teams usually consist of Project Managers, UI developers, Designers and you as the QA Engineer. Often this teams are joined by other QA engineers or library developers working on core functionality of Skype.<br></p>

<strong>Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience</strong></p>

<p>* Fluent in English (speaking and writing)<br />
* BS or higher degree in CS or equivalent comes as a strong plus<br />
* Excellent track record of managing engineering teams and delivering products<br />
* Deep knowledge of engineering design process, project management,  quality control, and product lifecycle<br />
* Good resource planning and budgeting skills<br />
* Substantial experience in software development. <br />
* Demonstrated experience on projects with multi-system interdependencies and medium to large cross-functional project teams</p>
