About Death Valley

A year ago, vampires, werewolves and zombies mysteriously descended upon the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley. Death Valley is the dark comedy that follows the cops that capture the monsters, and the camera crew that captures the cops.

Follow the horrific yet comedic exploits of the newly formed Undead Task Force (UTF), a division of the LAPD created to combat the emergence of monsters in the San Fernando Valley. Death Valley showcases the outrageous and courageous men and women working the toughest beat in the US: Death Valley.

Balancing dark humor with horror, the show is built upon cold-blooded conflict and character driven comedy, following the cops bent on keeping the streets safe from the presence of the paranormal. Documenting each case of zombie, vampire and werewolf encounter is the daring camera crew that is embedded within the task force, quickly revealing that the monster problem goes much deeper than anyone could have possibly imagined.

Full of subtext about living in today’s insane world, Death Valley is at its core a fun, non-stop thrill ride featuring chases, hardcore kills, and extraordinary creatures. The zombies are disgusting, menacing and brutal, the vampires are dangerous, smart and powerful and the werewolves are beastly and insane. From “blood-for-sex” prostitution busts to undead traffic jams, every call from dispatch will take you to a place you’ve never been: right to the bleeding heart of Death Valley.

Here is the official synopsis:

A local staple for many years, Fright Land amusement park is closing its gates for the last time. A group of teenage employees decide to send the old park off by throwing a party inside after hours. The party is soon interrupted by the arrival of two strangers. The teenagers come face to face with terror as the strangers begin killing them off inside the park. As it turns out the park’s owner has a new plan to sell tickets — by making their grisly deaths the new attractions!

Besides moonlighting in Hallmark’s Amish drama The Shunning with Bill Oberst Jr., this up-and-coming scream queen starred in the Friday the 13th and The Crazies remakes as well as The Ward. But now Danielle Panabaker will also star in the Piranha 3D sequel, aptly titled Piranha 3DD! Who can pass up a chance to watch her run screaming from vicious prehistoric piranhas, bouncing in a swimsuit in all the glory of 3D on the big screen?

When asked to describe the filming of Friday the 13th, she said “Through the Texas backwoods. In the dark. In a miniskirt.”

Yep, that’s enough to convince me to watch it.

Director and producer John Johnson’s remake, which originally began as a joke about all the bad remakes of good horror movies, was taken seriously. Johnson then looked into rights for the film, and discovered it was in the public domain. So he kept the basic plot but gave the rest of the story a complete overhaul.

Plan 9 will be released straight-to-dvd.

Born October 29, 1982, Chelan Simmons established her place in horror very early as the very first victim in the infamously creepy TV movie adaptation of Stephen King’s It, a formidable claim no other scream queen can make. Since her brutal murder at the hands of Pennywise the clown in It, Chelan Simmons grew up, got a killer rack, and went on to die gloriously in more movies. That’s everything I look for in a woman, so she’s damn near perfect.

I’m especially fond of blood-splattered cleavage in Tucker & Dale vs Evil. But I always felt bad for that poor little girl on her tricycle.
