Sadly the attack in Boston is toward the left side of this graph, making it relatively common in the world compared to more deadly attacks. Maybe just uncommon in the U.S.

This is from the excellent book The Signal and the Noise, where the frequency of terrorist attacks is compared to the frequency of earthquakes, i.e. they both follow a power law.

The Ferrari LaFerrari is the company’s new limited-series flagship, a million-dollar, 963-horsepower gas/electric hybrid supercar called the LaFerrari. Ferrari promises will include a top speed more than 217 miles per hour and a 0-62 mph time of under three seconds. Ferrari says the LaFerrari will be its fastest street car ever. It’s also a hybrid made entirely of carbon fibre, it will do 62 mph under 3 seconds, and they will only make 499 while already having about 700 orders.
