Forgetting words spoken out of turn,

& remember you love them.

Make this space
& time, your own.

Silent

Quiet goes another day,
the more objective night rising.
A lonely church with mum to say
or is it with science, compromising.

Sleep

sleep. the city,
where? movement.
am I going?
rising change,
with another.

Where

Where did you go my little cat?
Living quietly under my feet,
were you scared by lies or deceit?
or did you just follow, a great big rat?

New

Live in change, moving,
divide yourself amongst your loves,
split, forget & long for movement.
It forces you into life.

Dream, while flying.
Imagine, & you will float.
Sing the new song,
& you will always be dancing.

Finding

Pursuing the wretched mind,
empty in its beauty, awash when destroyed.
The cursed mind, run a muck, over full, with ideas,
with images, with dreams.

Leave us to be, as we are empty / happy & contented,
life is the only enemy we loath & relish our struggle with.
So I say, take as much of it as you may,
for we will all be dead, and lay alone one day.

Freezing

When you hear your real voice,
you tremble, eating yourself up,
from the inside. Breath in your fear;
divide yourself from it.
You are that person,
that whispers in your ear
during quiet time, relax, re-meet them,
shake hands with your teacher.

Turn again

Listening to the streets
pass on a cold night.
Nothing is sacred,
the sum of all things can break,
anything can be lost.

Turn again and remember,
what and where you love
& be there, with it, always.

Create

Let nothing hold you back,
create, build, design
the world through your eyes.

Whisper

An old man relaxes
on a park bench.
& thinks “I wish I had just,
done more, I wish I had heard
beauties whisper and followed it.”
At that moment the orange blazing lights
of the sun rocketed across the sky
as it passed from day to dusk to night
another world away
& then he hears a whisper.

Watching

The moon sits idly overhead
& minutes tick by.
The empty trains move underfoot
& days pass.

Time watches us,
moving, walking, going
& knows she keeps a silent
drum for each of us.

Wise

An aged withdrawn man,
passing, hastening to a
destination, said quickly,
“do not drink from
the mug of anger
for too long,
you may drown.”

His teeth cold with
knowledge & age,
but brilliant white,
added truth to his words
when he finally turned
& smiled & winked.

Quiet

The horizon bends, muscles tense,
he is moving closer, a muffled bird sings.
& then, silent.

There is nothing to stop him, folding out;
He continues, always rolling, onward:onward.
& then, hushed.

The sun upon us, sudden but expected,
& fills the sky, orange * red * yellow * white.
- blinding -
& then, quiet.

Change

Time moves like the wind,
unalterable, driven, forceful,
draw yourself in to see the
change, you have grown;

You are different now;
Before, you were many.
Now you are united,
like the clouds at the horizon.

Rising

Watch closely the human mind,
it will never wander far from
the creative point. Where dreams
& sparks combine.

Cherish your unfamiliar mind
don’t run from the absurd & ridiculous.
It may lead to the undiscovered.

Today

I sit & remember my friends,
They are there no matter
if I succed or fail,
if I fall or rise.

My friends are there.
bless them as they don’t know me,
but I am right to them
I am right

Smile

Hidden, passing, the black night.
Fallen, moving, from my sight.
Trees still stand & lights still light.
Is the color, color right.

I love you when you smile,
I love you more while

sleeping & more
when you smile at night.

Walking

Walking one day I found a spot
where the sun was shy to go,
quiet with anticipation,
I slyly sat, and over the day did roll.

Then soon after I secretly snuck
to find that spot again,
but strange to find an older man,
remembering days of when.

Lights

Every where around us lights,
but less shadows, our marching foot solders, obeying orders.
The darkness is no longer scary,
our shadows are hiding quick and fast below benches & bushes.

The dark is fading to day,
becoming a blur of faded shadowless florescent light,
so quickly, the faint gray core of our outline on the pavement
brushes away, we forget,
where it once stood. Looking back up at us,
saying - I will follow you, forever, I will follow you.

Passing

Moving so quickly, we pass in silence,
Never ending is the roar of motion.
Gliding by without notice, a life, a person, a history,
we are empty without each other.

Imagine the movement, without people:
Trains, cars, whizzing by, with no destination or reason.
Elevators moving slowly from floor to floor & no rider.
Stoplights, green * yellow * red * green * yellow *red.
Doors opening and closing, slam, no one going or coming.
Office lights going off, kitchen lights turning on.

For some small part & how ever regrettable,
the motion of each other, gives our life meaning.

Sit

Life moves
around you.
Never stepping,
always rolling.
The more rigid
you become,
the less you see.
The more fluid
you become,
the world will open to you.

Wonder

A young boy, with too few years to remember,
asks his father - why does the sun hide at night?
Smiling back - For the same reason we go to bed at night,
so it can sleep & be rested for tomorrow.

- But if the sun wakes me up in the morning,
who wakes up the sun?
- Ah, the moon, my son,
the moon watches over the world when the sun is sleeping.

- Can I stay up, one night, and keep the moon company?

Pride

Invite yourself to examine your inners,
gaze deep into your spine and depths,
look hasteningly at the greatest fear,
of all men.

* That you are not as becoming, as dignified,
* as cavalier, as you dream yourself to be.

Admonish yourself for seeing “me & only me”
& simultaneously, admire your merit, your dignity
embrace your pleasure that grows
in your simply living; Hold fast to that self, that image.

Everyman has it & everyman will fight
to hold it fast.

Laugh

Entwine your life with another,
but do not become tangled.
Or you will not be two individuals,
but one and the other.
Which is good for neither.

Bind yourself to someone,
but do not require them.
Live one life together
& one life apart as equals.

Laugh, love, live with them,
but of your own joy.
For when a choice for two
has been made by one
the laughter may end.

Watching

Glass are the eyes
of the watchful.
Light is never gone
from their gaze.

At night they prowl,
always listening, never hearing.
Be mindful, your voice,
as they approach.

As they may quickly rise,
to anger.

Lost

Time is dark, you alone.
Quiet & treacherous.

Reaching for another
Draws time in to knots.
Is there a place for this?
A forgotten hallow.

Not for this, time is evil;
It smiles and winks,
Laughs & howls as it passes.

Not for this, time is not
the place for life.
Not as it stretches to its edges
the meager scrap it gives of its self.

It is not a place for children
but then they have a kinship with it.
They play & joke with time
before they know its true nature.

Time will hold you down,
collapse your bellows.
Time will fade in to the night,
& you will be lost.

And so we are forced:
Occupy your year, days & hours
An enemy will take them soon.
& time will be laughing

As it fades to night.

Blue

Spinning night, beautiful blue, the stars lay with us.
All is silent but us. Gray and dark with joy,
we rise and walk.

“We have found it, we have found it”,
is all the silence & stars can say.

Fallen

You weep softly in my arms
the time is kept by your heart.

Grace is gone from this place;
We shall not be here for long.

Our endurance will grow this
night & day will come again.
