Die Siegesgöttin der griechischen Mythologie, Νίκη, ist die Namensgeberin des 1972 gegründeten Sportartikelkonzerns. Der Swoosh, wie das Symbol von Nike bezeichnet wird, ist neben den beiden Schriftzügen von Coca-Cola und Walt-Disney mit das <a href="http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-27497177.html" target="_blank">bekannteste Logo weltweit</a>. Der Name ist Firmenphilosophie, Nike setzte immer auf Sieg, sponsorte bedeutende Sportler und gewann mit deren sportlichen Erfolgen. Seit 1989 bis heute ist Nike der weltweit führende Sportartikelanbieter.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-3091" title="nike-shox" src="http://sloganmaker.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/nike-shox-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Die Nike Shox Technologie</strong><br />
Wenn die Ferse beim Laufen kraftvoll auf den Boden trifft, dann wird Bewegungsenergie freigesetzt. Diese Energie geht nicht verloren, sie wird lediglich umgesetzt. Bei einem weichen Absatz entsteht bei der Energieumsetzung Wärme, die ungenutzt an die Umwelt abgegeben wird.<br />
Bei Nike fragte man sich, streng der Firmenphilosophie folgend, ob man diese Energie nicht besser für größere sportliche Siege nutzen könne. Die <a href="http://www.mirapodo.de/p/nike-shox/" target="_blank">Nike Shox Technologie</a> wurde entwickelt. Der Gedanke war, die kinetische Energie zu absorbieren und dem Träger zur Verfügung zu stellen. Statt die Energie als ungenutzte Wärme verpuffen zu lassen, sollte sie wie ein Springball den Träger „beflügeln“. Die ersten Versuche wurden mit eingebauten Federn gemacht, später wurde ein Polyurethan-Schaum hoher Dichte verwendet, jeweils vier Säulen aus diesem Material erfüllen in den Absätzen die Funktion der Federn.</p>
<p>Ein erster Prototyp eines federnden Laufschuhs wurde 1984 an der Harvard-Universität getestet, die Physiker ermittelten die Federkonstante. 1987 wurde nach unbefriedigenden Ergebnissen mit Federstahl Carbon-Fiberglas getestet, das noch schlechter abschnitt. Erst als die Forschung 1997 neue Materialien entwickelt hatte, war die Zeit für die heute erfolgreiche Shox-Form gekommen. Das Dämpfungssystem hatte an Effektivität gewonnen, die Energie-Rückgabe war größer denn je, ein völlig neues, leichtes Laufgefühl war entstanden.</p>
