TIME LAPSE

2012-11-20T12:07:00.001-08:00

Seems like it has been forever since I have had a new post (Because it has been forever.) This is my first attempt at time lapse. Sorry for the poor quality, it wouldn't let me post the full-rez version. I hope you enjoy it. If you have any ideas on future time lapses - please let me know.

I NEED HELP!

2012-03-06T14:13:00.000-08:00

I would like to do an EPIC planet! I need your help. I would like to have 10 - 15 people (more would be even better) for a planet. If you would like to help out (assuming you're available on the time that works best for everyone, of course) please email me @ jeffrey.b.hanson@gmail.com with something about photoplanets in the subject. I have a vision for a next planet - but I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We could possibly all lie down scattered around and look like we are being sucked into a wormhole if we shot like the example i am posting. Please help! I understand if you cannot.

THANKS!

Planets around UA.

2012-03-06T11:05:00.000-08:00

So... here are a few more planets. They were taken at various places on the University of Alabama's campus, sometime in the last month or so.

- Flip

some people's world revolves around the sun... for everyone else - its alabama football

2012-03-06T07:56:00.001-08:00

Two planets. Same subject. Took these on signing day, before I shot the Shelby Hall Rotunda but I am just now getting around to posting them. Starting to finally work the kinks out with these. I can't wait to try to these with people involved!

it's been a while.

2012-02-29T12:32:00.000-08:00

Well, between getting married and fixing up a foreclosed home, I've been pretty busy. Finally getting a chance to do some more creative work. This is an inverted panorama. The logo with "THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA" is actually around my week while taking this. Roughly 200 photos and approximately 300 hours later - this is born. I hope you enjoy.

PS:It's good to be back.

The Civil Wars. Oz Music.

2011-02-08T08:36:00.000-08:00

The Civil Wars were kind enough to drive over between shows in Birmingham, AL to do an in-store appearance at Oz Music. They were some of the most genuinely nice and polite artists I've come across. Their manager was even nice enough to put me on the guest list for their Sunday matinee show the next day. I don't have the time or space in this blog to tell you how much I love their new album. If you dont have it, BUY IT. If you have a chance go see them on tour. I'll stop rambling and get to the photos... I hope you enjoy them.

Skate

2010-12-03T11:06:00.000-08:00

first time to ever shoot someone skateboarding. Pretty fun stuff. I picked the worst time of the day with the trees right overhead. I hope to shoot Stephen again soon. Hopefully at a better time of the day.

one place - two planets.

2010-11-30T14:57:00.000-08:00

The following 360-180 panoramas were used with the same set of photos. I am trying to push the boundaries of how far I've taken the planets thus far. I have done many before I have begun posting them on my blog. It's taken a lot to get to the point where i feel comfortable sharing them with the general public.

These were taken just south of the "Mound on the Quad" at the University of Alabama campus.

Enjoy!

Fosters Auditorium

2010-11-19T10:40:00.000-08:00

The University of Alabama recently dedicated a clock tower and plaza to honor the three young people that were involved in the stand at the schoolhouse door. This pan is from the middle of that plaza.

Send in some suggestions for places to shoot these. I would love to hear peoples ideas.

the 360x180 panarama.

2010-11-18T13:57:00.000-08:00

This is located between the Ferguson Center and the Student Services Center on the campus of the University of Alabama. Thanks to a new tripod head, these have become a little easier to do. Still it is tremendously time consuming and rather tedious to make sure that it is stitched perfectly. I would love to hear anyone's suggestions on places to try these.

I have a few more i hope to put up soon.

ENJOY!

Enjoy.

The last of THE LAST FRONTIER.

2010-08-28T13:41:00.000-07:00

Well... this is 2 of 2. I hope you enjoy them. If you ever get a chance to go on an Alaskan cruise or just to anywhere in Alaska, do it. It is absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps I will post more later on, but this is it for now...

(I don't usually add captions, but I feel that this needs some explaining.) To put some perspective as to how big the glacier is between the mountains - There is a ship about half the size of a cruise ship that is at the base, but is almost completely undetectable in front of the massive glacier.

THE LAST FRONTIER

2010-08-26T12:41:00.000-07:00

1 of 2. Here's some pics from a brief Seattle morning before boarding a boat to Alaska this summer. For every photo... there are 100's I could show. Enjoy.

A lesson in being prepared.

2010-08-23T14:17:00.000-07:00

In reference to the title... I was not. This past Saturday was my first attempt at shooting live shows at the Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa, AL. PROBLEM! I had forgotten some crucial equipment. Instead of throwing in the towel, or cheating and using some type of on camera flash - I decided work the old-fashion way... available light! the bad thing... the "available light" was big can lights... They look great in person but when they are the only source of light, they are a photographers worst nightmare. Alas, I gave it the old college try. Came up with a few shots I'm happy with. The band is Hackberry Record's Sparrow and the Ghost at Tuscaloosa's Mellow Mushroom. Enjoy.

Third time's a charm. Alabama Football - 2009. Part 3

2010-08-16T14:29:00.000-07:00

Well... seems like were about two weeks until football kicks off. Hope part three can help hold you over until then. If I can get around to it - I will make a "worst of" post. You definitely will not want to miss it. (In case you're wandering about the "worst of", that is not in reference to my photography) Anyway, enjoy the post. Also, feel free to copy and post on facebook and whatnot, just please place a link to my blog along with it. thanks.

2010-08-13T13:38:00.000-07:00

Well... this is part 2 of 3. Hands down my favorite of the three. Have a great weekend everyone. Part three should be up by the end of the day on Monday. Enjoy.

A look back - 2009 Alabama Football

2010-08-12T12:56:00.000-07:00

This is a first of three posts from last years season. These may not be the best action from last year, but they are a few of my favorites. Some of these you may have seen before, hopefully there are some you haven't. Enjoy!

I hope to get part two up before the end of the day tomorrow. If not - you'll have something to look forward to on monday morning.
