We visit the Corcoran Unified School District’s 1:1 iPad program and spend much of the drive back questioning which is the way forward for our own 1:1, iPads or ubermix netbooks?

Danny has moved his freshman Earth Science classes to a 1:1 instruction model and Andrew has been busy keeping the lab up and running.  More fun with Ubermix and LTSP in the lab.  Ofris, a deep freeze for linux.

Andrew had a great lunch at the Apple Tech Champs training hosted by the San Joaquin County Office of Education and then had a day of fun and excitement at MOUSE Squad orientation the following day.

Danny is drawn back to the mothership (the GooglePlex) for a GCT Reunion.

We make an appearance on the local radio (well, mostly Danny) 1480 KYOS.

Google announces the Google Apps for Education Certification program with Tests! We both have two down, four to go.

And the mics were set too high so we sounds a bit fuzzy, sorry.

And we’re working on getting together for the next podcast. School started for us last week, so we have been, um, busy. We’ll get together soon to tell you all about it.

Danny Silva at the Google Teacher Academy

Recently, I was lucky enough to be featured on the front page of the local paper, the Merced Sun-Star.  It was a great opportunity to be able to share information about attending the Google Teacher Academy in London as a Lead Learner (presenter). I was also able to share how I have been able to include technology in my agriculture courses at Le Grand High School, including Agriculture Earth Science and Agricultural Communications, a ROP course.

To my surprise the article has been republished more than once on the internet. It was an editor’s pick for the ASCD Smart Brief and also posted on a blog site sponsored by the National Young Farmer Educational Association (NYFEA) – Agriculture’s Promise. It has been a great way to build my PLN with other Agriculture Teachers from around the country.
