Then came the pirates making all sorts of version, you get dinosaur, lizards, monsters and etc. I got myself one too, not the original but a replica by some China company. Teens, adults, and kids were bringing it around and pressing these buttons to feed their pets so that they don't die.

Adults play them too??? yes...some parents had to baby sit an extra baby cos their baby were at school and these "toys" were not allowed in most schools. Now Tamagotchi is back again with version 4.5, advertisement isn't as great as before but some people are getting the hype. I'm just waiting for Bandai Asia/Malaysia to start promoting it big. My friend is currently working for this project, and though nothing much has been told to me. I'm pretty much guessing that there won't be such big promotions as last time.

Check out Tamagotchi's site and see the features there...it seems like this whole virtual pet has become a mini carry around computer. You can earn points and all that. There's also a phone feature which I seriously do not know how it works. Maybe someone who has a Tamagotchi here could enlighten me?

Would anyone out there get this thing again? Would you create or wanna start this craze?or trend setting? How would one see this, as in would you be saying.. "ahh that's old stuff we have long past the Tamagotchi time.." or would you say "coolness! I'm getting myself one too" Toy's market go round in circles, they come and go and back again after a period of time. The hardest thing is how to get the markets attention again after a comeback. The typical Malaysian mindset will say "thats outdated" but they will go against their word when they see a lot of people getting in to it. Question is, how do you get people in to it?

here's some link if you are interested in finding out more
Tamatown
Tamagotchi Wiki
Tamagotchi FAQ

Nufflet another new Advertising company

Soooo....another new advertisement company for us bloggers..Nufflets, Nuffnang + Advertlets? Haha, these companies are popping around real fast lately. I wonder who's selling them the codes or algorithm.

First things that I notice about them is that their Faq page isn't really working correctly. The anchor links are not linking. Second thing after signing up is that I notice I'm only allowed to have one blog there, so...I'm assuming that if I were to have multiple blogs it would mean multiple accounts? Either that or they haven't realize or thought of it. Will contact them tomorrow and see what they have to say. As for now I would be placing them right below most of my active ads.

I know my blog is starting to take a long while to load. Will have to change the layout as well so it would be fair to certain advertisers. I like ads on my blog besides the fact they make money for me, but they also make it look pretty! I like new pictures and animation, makes the blog less...dull

Oh yea, they also said they are giving aways USD15! yes you heard me..15 bucks...15 smackarooo, but whats the catch? according to the faq, here's what it says.

Is Nufflets really giving away USD$15 to each publisher account? What's the catch?
There's no catch! Every Publisher will be given USD$5 upon approval of their Publisher sign-up. To earn an extra USD$10 though, Publishers will need to provide a link-back to Nufflets.com on the main page of their website.
quoted from Nufflet

So this means that only certain publisher has to sign up and they link back to Nufflet? Not sure how US users come in to play, will ask them more about this again tomorrow.

Trial podcast (Merry Xmas)

Finally I've got my lazy bum up and moving, did a trial podcast in less then 10 minutes, hopefully the sound quality pleases all of you. Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer. Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
quoted from Watch Movies

Went to the cinema the other day with an ex-classmate, she wanted to watch Enchanted which I had no idea what kind of movie was it nor was I aware of what is screening. Doesn't bother me, I could settle with any movie. So when the movie started, what came to my mind was..."omg! a cartoon?" I couldn't help but asked her.."eh are we watching a cartoon?" the then told me it's a mix which made me felt a bit relieve. It's a musical I guess you can call it. The typical Disney kind of movie with pretty catchy and nice sound tracks.

Story wise, it's still the happy ever after thingy with a little twist. This time it's not that predictable but yea the good guy wins again and the evil witch dies. Not a bad movie to watch I recon. There's one slight dissatisfaction though, I'm not sure if the cheap cinema I went in 1U is crap or its the film, the subtitle of the movie is as bad as those pirated VCD's, it was really really blur and had to see.

Otherwise it was pretty ok, I'm not a movie maniac so maybe those who are really picky would have more to say. Overall I'm pretty much contented that my RM7 isn't wasted down the drain.

In short the story is about a girl who becomes a princess in a fairy tale land. On her wedding day the evil Queen would try to stop her from taking the throne and therefore push her into some waterfall and ends up in the real world.

So the story begins with her journey in the real world where everything isn't any fairy tale but of course prince charming comes and find her. Having a different ending she falls in love with a man from the real world and stayed with him while Prince charming found a woman in the real world to follow him back to fairy tale land.

Coffee shops and notebooks

I'm sitting here in Starbucks for the past 2 hours, more people are actually coming to Starbucks or any other "high" class coffee shops these days with their notebooks. When I say high class I'm referring to the ones where you pay close to RM10 or more for a cup of drink. Places like Coffee bean, Starbucks, San Francisco Coffee and etc.

Are these places actually making money? if yes...how?the turn over rate is slower now and people are taking up more spaces by having one person per table and sitting there for 2 hours drinking 1 drink and surfing the internet. It also seem like its became a trend to have notebooks lately. I think if we look around us we would notice a lot more notebook users than 4 years back. Notebooks used to be a luxury and only people with a thick wallet would be using them...normally. Lately prices of notebook have dropped a lot and is more affordable, not to mention quality gets cheaper as well.

Anyways, I'm sure most of us have been to Starbucks, but the question is...what do we do there? socialize? surf? download (kiasu people who wants free internet). What happen to internet cafes? Remember back then internet cafe were actually coffee shops with some computer units where you pay a certain fee to go online? Now internet cafes don't seem like the places you would go to do your homework...with all that screaming and smoking and noise there from the games. Though there are some who do not allow customers to turn on their speakers but instead supply headphone, but they too don't have the softwares like microsoft word, access, or power point. No more scanning facility, no more printing service. So, is this the end of the term "internet cafe"? It seems that there has been revolution and the word cafe doesn't suit the current change no more. Where's the coffee?late?or mocha...is Starbucks now an "internet cafe"? They have internet, they have coffee and everything that qualifies it to be called a cafe.

Back long long ago, coffee shops were places where people socialize and often a place of gathering. These days the younger generation go to the club's and pub's to do this. I was reading a thesis from a MIT student about how coffee shops are changing the way people interact with each other now, people go there to go online and sit alone. What happen to the socializing? unless it is an arrange meeting with friends, colleagues or people you meet online. There wouldn't be much socializing in these places anymore.

I would very much like to hear your opinion on this...do share. =)

Dissapointing Innit

What is Innit?

Nuffnang’s very own blog aggregator is here! Innit revolutionalizes the Nuffnang community by helping Nuffnangers build each other’s traffic, share topics, and vote on blog entries they find interesting.

How to use Innit?

When you go to the new Nuffnang 2.0 homepage, scroll down and you will see a small snippet of Innit’s most popular and most recent posts.
Clicking the Innit logo brings you to the Innit homepage itself, with loads more posts to look at and/or vote on (nang).

To be a part of Innit, featured on the homepage of Nuffnang, all you have to do is login, click on the “+add new post” button, fill in a few fields about your post, click add post and you’re done. But make sure to choose an interesting description so fellow Nuffnangers will be more inclined to read and vote!
While you are logged in you can also go around surfing other people’s posts, and if you like it, nang-it!
this is no coincidence as I purposely stood there and waited for it to be deleted after the first time. So Why is it that we are not allowed to post any thing that benefits us bloggers?

most would have known what is Innit if you are a nuffnang er..user?subscriber..what ever..but did you know there was some policy that they didn't not state on their web...?

I posted my post before this about GrabMyAds and when I posted it on Innit, guess what? It got deleted...not once..but twice! This is no coincidence as I waited to see if they deleted my post again after the first time. So why are we not allowed to post what we blogged about? I don't remember nuffnang having a policy on that...oh wait..maybe they did...?I don't remember reading or agreeing to a new TOS when Innit was launched. Tim... I know my blog doesn't attracts your attention but I hope one day the word gets passed to you.

If you all care to know the time my post was deleted, it was around 10+. I see people posting about getting more money from pay per post and all those company but there hasn't been any action on deleting it...but why GrabMyAds? could it be because it was an ex-employee from nuffnang?or they know that they are a local competitor...like advertlets which benefits Malaysians? I would really like to know whats going on here.

continuation...

email 1

A couple of us at Nuffnang couldn't help but notice the latest entry you posted on Innit. While you are free and more than welcomed to try and participate in other blog advertising networks, we cannot constantly be allowing other competitors to grow their network through our very own community. That would be akin to Coke slapping on a Pepsi logo on each can of Coke they sell.

I really hope you understand our situation and if anything, please don't take this the wrong way that we are in any way trying to intimidate or restrict you from what you are entitled to write on your blog. You are free to write anything you want on your blog just as we exercise the same freedom in moderating our blog aggregator Innit.

If you have any questions. please feel free to drop me an e-mail. Alternatively, you can also reach me on my personal mobile at xxx.

Thank you and have a great day ahead.

email 2

Dear Smallstripes,

It has come to attention that you had ignored my earlier e-mail and went on further to Repost the same entry we deleted. Should you once again ignore our warning, we will have no choice but to BAN your account and blog from any further use of our Innit Blog Aggregator.

Innit is a blog aggregator owned and hosted on Nuffnang servers. We reserve the right to delete any entries or ban any users that we post offensive, racist or content that is not in the best interest of Nuffnang.

Have a good evening.

so..I was suppose to check my email if I find something wrong, jeez that didn't struck my head. Sorry to the person who wrote me the mail but I didn't intentionally ignored your email, it's just that I don't check it all the time.

So my reply/question to the person above.

Innit is a blog aggregator owned and hosted on Nuffnang servers. We reserve the right to delete any entries or ban any users that we post offensive, racist or content that is not in the best interest of Nuffnang.

so let me get this straight...any competitors which are locally base are a threat, any competitors which are not locally based like pay per post and etc are allowed?mind showing me in which line of the terms and agreement that this is allowed. yes i do understand they are a thereat but i suppose it would be fair if all post related to advertising is deleted as well along with mine.no?unfortunately pay per post interest them..
this definately interest them...

I'm sooooo gonna get BLACK LISTED!

The Last episode...

email 3

Hi Smallstripes,

Our stand is against direct competitors, i.e. any local competitors that we may have. We are more flexible when it comes to foreign competitors as they are not necessarily competing for the same market and same ad dollar.

The more local ad units a blog has, the smaller share of voice it has and the lower value it becomes to advertisers which explains why many top bloggers only choose to be exclusively Nuffnang as opposed to throwing ads all over their blog.

Don't take it personally, and have a nice evening :)

email 4

Hi Smallstripes,

Due to your disregard to our earlier warnings and constant efforts in reposting the earlier deleted entries, we have had no choice but to ban your blog from any use of Innit for an indefinite period of time.

I wish you the very best in your blogging career. Do have a wonderful evening ahead and feel free to drop me an e-mail if you have any queries.

so now posting on my own blog violates whatever TOS there is as well?Great...not what I remember somehow...hmmm.

Grab my ads..new blog advertising company

I thought I was done blogging today and all of a sudden I got an email from GrabMyAds which I misread as GrabMyAss, ops! So yea...went to their site and checked it out..was pretty reluctant to apply again for another advertisement thingy,..but oh well since both nuffnang and adverlets aren't really paying me much I'll give this one a try.

1. Our smart ads network system will locate the position and calculate your price of your ads strip once you manage to embed our code in, by placing our ads strip position high on your blog, you will get more!

5. What advantages Do Grabmyads Offer?

Our marketing team is always out on the ground scouring for related advertisers and ensure the ads served on your Blog match your content and readership as closely as possible.

Grabmyads blog advertising network will smartly serve FALL BACK advertisement to “Global ads”, when you don’t have target graphical ads.

By placing Skyscraper unit ad on your blog, it will not only serve one advertisement, with our smart Skyscraper unit, the ad unit it will auto expand from top to bottom when there is more than one advertisement, which mean you will generate more earning and will be serving multiple ads on your blog at the same time.

quoted from GrabMyAds

So they claim to have real time statistic and detail report on my blog. I'm really intersted in finding out how detail can detailed be, as the best statistic and detailed report I got was from feedburner, it was detailed enough for me to find out where my visitors were from till I could find them on google map, but google map doesn't update that fast..so it wasn't that detailed la.

Point 3 stated that we will get more income and yada yada...right...I think blogroll said that too and with the launch of phase 2 or something I was suppose to get more traffic, but guess again no difference to be honest.

Point 5...oh wait..where no4? before you assume I copy and pasted wrongly here I would like to point out to you that they made a careless mistake by not reading their stuff before they post it. So yea I just copy and pasted. Anyways point 4 was suppose to be a repetition of point 7

7. Payment In Local Currency.
Have lots of ads are doing really well? We pay in local currency, which mean, you will get payment via cheque in Ringgit Malaysia (RM). Grabmyads will pay you via cheque once your earnings reach RM50.00. Please note that we payout on before the 7th of every month.

Point 5...

I'm a bit slow in the head, but I don't quite get this. You place a skyscraper unit and there will be another footer unit?is that what they are trying to say? If yes..how is this gonna happen? the ads actually reads and scan through the css file and knows where to place itself? WOah!

Anyways they do not have any ads yet so far, but we shall be keeping an eye on them. The more the competitor the better for us, nuffnang, adverlets and adsense would be doing something better I hope. Oh yea..where did they get my email address from? How come they know where to get my email add when I rarely publish my email...hmm could they be buying off data from advertlets or nuffnang?or forums?

An addition to this..Small Stripes the late bloomer as usual..is now finally in FACEBOOK! so feel free to add me up and er..socialize or something but please please let me know you and not just randomly add me ok?

Job interview questions, logical?or just a test of sincerity

I went for a job interview the other day, and it wasn't my first. So I was asked to do an English paper test, Ok... nothing new in there, no harm done as well since the position I was applying for require me to talk to Australians and New Zealanders? or the kiwi as some would call them.

Then came the typing test..woohoo! I've not tested myself in any way before so this should be fun, I pretty much took it as a game and yes got distracted a few times when this lady kept walking in and out to check if I'm done. Overall i got an 89% accuracy and 45Wpm (words per minute) which I think I could have done better as I spend my whole day on the internet and on my notebook, but yea I was playing safe as I notice i make a lot of bad habit mistakes and the program would not allow you to backspace after you press space.

Later came the question and answer session *jeng jeng jeng...* I wasn't nervous or anything though there's this man who looked pretty intimidating. Anyways there were two person who interviewed me. Couldn't remember their names nor their position but none of them were the manager. So...first question was do I know bout their company and a Client of theirs. Reason why they asked bout their client is because they are an outsourcing company which they will place me under a team which is dealing with this client. So I told them what I know which wasn't really much.

Second question was about my working experiences and stuff that were written in my resume or CV. Nothing much there as they were pretty happy with what they have seen and all and that's why I'm called in for the interview I suppose. Oh yea..to also make sure I don't make up some stories in there they asked/tested me with some technical questions which is the third set of questions.

Third set of questions was, more of technical stuff regarding computers as I was applying something about computers. So yea,no problem there as well..pretty basic stuff and all. Had enough experience with these stuff and though there was a trick question..I still managed to give him an expected answer, judging from his impression on his face when I answered.

There was one question which I've never got asked before..which was "how do you take vulgarities?" I was silent for a while as I thought I heard it wrongly,so I went vulgarities? and he said yea...so I said "well...I guess I have to take it in" LOL... I know bad answer but I was er...confused on how to answer that, what I really wanted to say is that my life is filled with it. My friends and people around me curse a lot and I'm so much immune to it that it doesn't have an effect on me no more. But that wouldn't be a good answer I guess.

Fourth set of questions, what were my short term and long term goal, and what motivates me...urgh, I really don't know how to answer these stuff sometimes, should I be dead honest?or should I make up something to make it sound nice? Short term goal, to get a job? long term goal to be successful? what motivates me? MONEY!!! GIRLS!!! and short working hours and monthly increment ... okay maybe not those..but yea how should one really answer these questions? What really is the reason behind these questions? There is definitely no wrong or right answer but not everyone judge the same right?

I think the last question was, where do I see myself five years from now...AGAIN this question, I really don't like this question...and I really don't know how to tell them the truth as it is really a risk, I see myself being your boss? I see myself being in bigger company? I see myself having my own business?

here is something I got off the internet to share with you guys if you have the same problems with me

Q. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
A. Here the interviewer really wants to know how the company can benefit from the plans you have for yourself. Found this following video from Skyler's blog

I always wonder how ventriloquist do this voice projection thing. Impresses me a lot.

oh..and maybe Im wrong as I found this on Wikipedia...yes ..not all true and trust-able..but you get the rough idea.

However, the term "throwing one's voice" is misleading because it implies that a sound's physical origin has changed, when really the change has been perceptual and not physical. The illusion of ventriloquism is just that, an illusion. A ventriloquist is skilled at speaking without moving his or her lips. The audience therefore actually detects the sound of the voice from the ventriloquist’s mouth but sees only the mouth of the puppet moving. Thus, two modalities are in conflict. Vision detects the location of the speaker as distinct from where audition (hearing) localizes the speaker. When these two modalities are in conflict, our perceptual system must resolve audition in determining where objects are located in space. The unconscious mind, therefore, resolves the discrepancy between these two modalities by hearing the voice as if it is coming from the moving mouth of the puppet. This short-term change in perception is called capture. This specific capture concerning ventriloquism is an example of ‘visual capture’ because the visual system dominates the auditory system. While the illusion is extremely convincing, ventriloquists do not actually have the ability to ‘throw’ their voices. However, they are skilled at deceiving audiences through their practice of speaking intelligible sounds without moving their mouths and moving the dummy’s mouth in synchrony with the sound of their own voice
quoted from Wikipedia

next up...would be something I laughed at a lot...watch...

So it was rumoured that dogs were tired and bored of doggy style and decided to try out missionary position? HAHa!

and lastly..something pretty interesting from this dude/gal...I think its a gal.. but yea anyways the song made popular again(after being unknown to most people who do not listen to classical music..or maybe its romance) by Jerry C not too long ago, "canon in D"

wonderful what small fingers can do eh? though it's not entirely canon in D but still I like it a lot.

No manners? I've always doubt the word love when it comes out of a white man or girl's mouth. But it's doubtful she will see him again anytime soon — unless the boy, an illegal immigrant, is allowed back in the U.S. to testify against her.

A federal magistrate judge in El Centro denied bail Wednesday to Kelsey Peterson, 25, who agreed to be sent to Nebraska to face charges that she fled to Mexico with the intention of having sex with the boy
.....
.....
He said the pair had sexual intercourse "maybe twice" earlier this year, before the boy was sent to a youth camp in Nebraska after trying to run away from home.
.....
.....

The boy called his former teacher "my best friend" but said she wasn't a girlfriend.
"I could tell her anything," he said. "She would listen."
.....
.....
"She said to the youngster that she loved him and would always love him in her heart," said Alfredo Arenas Moreno of the Baja California state police. She expressed no regrets and felt it was unfair to be separated from her 8-year-old daughter.
   quoted from Yahoo news

If you read the whole article and look at that lady picture, she don't look like anyone with a right mentality if you ask me.

"Come teacher educate you a bit on sex ok boy? Yes you may be only 13 but what the heck, its US and you're an immigrant..so let me welcome you with our culture."

and the boy would be thinking..what the hell..it's free and I'm a virgin (maybe).

He don't even think of her as his girlfriend and yet they could do it..TWICE..he THINKS, yea right!..it was a real blur moment where it could have been more then 10-40 times that night but yea it felt like twice...that was a right number to tell the judge. Anymore might scare them.

I bet there are student who date their teachers in KL too but we don't get juicy news like that. I know someone who is dating a lecturer in Lim Kok Wing and also a student in that college. It seemed that all these "fate" issues that have been going around the internet where me meeting a girl somewhere is pretty much a pre-plan issue. I mean like it's only a matter of how much of social sites surfing or blog hopping till I meet this girl which I would eventually fall for.

So there's no more meetings and falling in love the old school way anymore?like meeting in coffee shops, parties, reunion and the old wishing well or fountain. Fate has found it's need to upgrade itself I guess, we're moving towards the digital era and so is our love life. Though many of us would still not agree about meeting their partners online there is still a whole lot who do. I'm one of those who don't really believe that meeting someone from the internet is dangerous and such, as I believe if someone who really wants to rape you...it doesn't matter if he's your dad or boyfriend who you've known since you were sucking your bottle could still the same. Of course at this point you might tell me the risk is a lot slimmer as you may know that long term bottle sucking boyfriend of your and your father for a much longer time. wouldn't that odd be the same to a stranger if you take some precautions like....lets say don't enter his bedroom?or...take his offer to send you home?or...walk in the back alley with him? common if you're in a public are, I would say the chances of being safe with him is the same or at least almost the same as being with your father.

get ready to be eaten alive!

There are some off who believe in trying as many partners as we can till we find the right one. Some would label these as "desperado" or in some cases "players". What ever they are called I guess some people believe that the galaxy is their limit, and what better place to reach the whole world with out having to fly and waste a ton of money dating, CYBER DATING! be in or be left out..haha! for those who remember the old irc/icq days weird lingo's like ROFL, LOL, TTFN, LMAO, BRB, AFK, _|_ and lots more which I could barely remember..are we heading back to those times? some of us may know that fashion goes round in circles does these dating trend adopt the same formula?

Far beyond the galaxy lies....my love to be found...
*takes a deep breath* ah lou pooooorrr where are you arrrr~

Do tell me what you think of relationships these days, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been experiencing these online thingy and have my own believes. In simple terms it's a set API that will allow developers to create web application for varius web sites without having to worry bout the architecture of their backend. I look at this as a standardization of developing a middleware like bridge where developers can make use of the data of these social sites to reach out to more audience.

Social networks have seen that next wave, and have started opening up developer APIs to enable third-party innovation on their websites. This is a great thing, but it has also led to a growing number of APIs which a developer must learn. So we took a look at the state of the web and asked how we could make development easier for both websites and developers. Out of that exercise came OpenSocial.

OpenSocial is a set of common APIs that will work on many different social websites, including MySpace, Plaxo, Hi5, Ning, orkut, and LinkedIn, among others. In addition, this allows developers to learn one API, then write a social application for any of those sites. Learn once, write anywhere, if you will. And because it's built on web standards like HTML and JavaScript, developers don't have to learn a custom programming language.

Perhaps most interestingly, we will see social capabilities move into new contexts. OpenSocial will also work in non-traditional social contexts, such as on Salesforce.com and Oracle. With a common set of APIs, it will be even easier to extend social functionality. Beyond the many fun and entertaining social applications we already have seen, we think we'll see a number of social applications emerge in business contexts.
quoted from OpenSocial API blog

There is an example in the video where there is this calender widget where it tells the user there is an event coming up and not only that but it is also able to tell the users who are the colleagues that are going to the event and the friends of the colleague that would be going. This is really a great idea of getting people in touch and up-to-date on event and the people who are going to the event could be contacted for a meeting or something.

As you can see from the picture above there is a large number of companies that are taking part in this open social project. Open Social doesn't only benefit developers but the users as well, sites like yourminis could allow users to customize their own widget and probably place them on friendster or hi5 and other social network sites. To really know more bout Open Social here's a video on it. My words may not explain them as well as the people from google itself.

a brief text version of the video could be read from OpenSocial API blog. MySpace has also join the Open Social family.

MySpace was not initially announced as a part of OpenSocial, leading many to believe that it was absent from the project despite the fact that it already has a search and advertising contract with Google. In an interview with CNET News.com on Wednesday, Google's director of product management, Joe Kraus, said "We would love MySpace to be a part of it," which technically neither confirmed nor denied its partnership.

When smaller rival Facebook started to take off in both membership numbers and public favor after launching a developer platform in May, MySpace seemed somewhat shellshocked and began focusing on initiatives like games and original video programming that fit it more into the mold of a media hub rather than a social network. But last month, MySpace confirmed that it was working on a developer platform strategy of its own.

The release also provides a full list of launch partners for OpenSocial: Engage.com, Friendster, Hi5, Hyves, Imeem, LinkedIn, Ning, Oracle, Orkut, Plaxo, Salesforce.com, Six Apart (the parent company of TypePad, Movable Type, LiveJournal, and Vox), Tianji, Viadeo, and Xing. Several of those partners, like the high-profile Six Apart and Imeem, had not yet been confirmed otherwise.

quoted from Cnet News

According to a post from Christoper Spen's blog he said:

Here’s an even more striking thought: tools for marketing written for MySpace will be tools written for marketing on OpenSocial. Social media marketing pros, get ready to rock the web. A peek inside the API documentation reveals:

Name

Postal address

Email address

IM

Phone number

Profile traits

The ability to market based on targeted, self-identified data AND have contact information makes OpenSocial a Facebook-killer from a business perspective if they don’t jump in.

Facebook however refuses to join google and are "in war" or something.

As for Facebook, they got Uber-Face-Slammed since they claim they were never briefed on the initiative and Google doesn’t seem to dispute that. That’s a bit of evil on Google’s part, but I suppose it was justifiable that they didn’t want Facebook to be able to pre-empt in any way. Facebook ought to embrace the standard despite feeling sucker punched, but they should wait until they’re ready to release support to talk about it. Here is why: I can’t imagine an app developer not supporting OpenSocial or Facebook. They’ll all do both. So what is the competitive advantage for continuing to be proprietary? Seems like they gain face (pardon the pub) if they adopt the standard. The trick is to start thinking chess moves ahead now that they see how this game will be played. What open API could Facebook kick off? They certainly have currency to persuade others with. Everyone wants to be a part of Facebook. How can they parlay that into a successful counterstroke and win the next battle? If they come up with something smart, maybe they should wait and announce that alongside support for OpenSocial.
read more from Smooth Span's blog

There are 50 Million Facebook users who don't know what OpenSocial APIs are...and don't care. There are about 5,000 tech bloggers and developers who think it is a revolution that will "Checkmate" Facebook and leave them with no moves. TechMeme has over 100 stories saying that OpenSocial is awesome and Facebook is dead. MySpace joins Google on OpenSocial initiative. OK, surely that settles it, Facebook is dead. Nope, not in my opinion.

Are Facebook users going to cancel their account? Nope, I doubt it. OK, so every tech blogger and social network developer is going to cancel their Facebook account and go to what? Orkut? Ning? Even if they did that would amount to about 5,000 users which is less than one/one hundredth of one percent of Facebook users. Or put another way 99.9999% of Facebook users will be happy to stay right where they are. And, Facebook probably adds<del mk_b="0" sth_t="1" mk_i="584"> 5,000</del> 200,000 new users a day anyway. So the impact (revolution) will be over in <del mk_b="0" sth_t="1" mk_i="587">one day</del> half an hour. By next week this is old news.

quoted from Don Dodge of microsoft

more reading list if you want to know more:
Marc Andreesson (report on the Open Social night)
Naveen's blog (Facebook vs open social)
Fish Train
Tech Crunch (Facebook vs google issue)

From my point of view this is a start to something revolutionary as I last recall these widget stuff weren't that big of a deal and now with the help of Open Social promoting and helping more developers to create application easier. There would be a lot more applications out there for us to choose and there would be a lot of organizing and socializing through the computer compared to the current time now.

I'm really looking forward to this and would really wonder what will happen next.

Aikido an Introduction

Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969)

Aikido is a Japanese martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba, who was born on December 14 1883. He is also known as O' Sensei (Great Teacher). It was said that he was weak in health when he was young and was encourage to take up sumo. To cut the story short as he grew older he took up and studied more martial arts before he developed Aikido.

From my understanding there are 2 branches of Aikido, Aikikai and Yoshinkan. In Malaysia you might notice some Aikido called Seishinkan or Shudokan, Seishinkan is basically Aikikai style and Shudokan is Yoshinkan.

The difference between the 2 types of Aikido is that Aikikai style follows the teaching of O' Sensei and Yoshinkan style is a branching of one of O' Sensei's student Gozo Shioda. From my observation Yoshinkan Aikido is more of the hard style compare to Aikikai Aikido, it was also said that O' Sensei first started with the hard style but as he got older he changed it to a softer style realizing it would suit his age and others. I'm not sure how far is this true so do let me know if you know. It is also said that there isn't too much of a major difference in the 2 branching of Aikido.

Gozo Shioda Soke (1915-1994)

I may not have practised Aikido for a very long time but from my reading/video watching I realize there is 2 side of Aikido. There is a philosophical side and a technical side, because O' Sensei was a very religious man and often had a lot to say bout the universe and how we unite with it. The technical part however emphasizes on the footwork, handwork and the body posture of a human. From my practice and from what new practitioners words they would say that Aikido is different from their previous martial art because in Aikido we take down our opponent by taking them off-balance and also by using the opponents energy.

Some would say that it is a very gentle art and is suitable for women or females as it does not require one to have strong arms or move at lighting speed. The theory of taking down an opponent by using their strength is pretty much like what we hear in Tai Chi or some chinese Kung Fu. Many would get scared or assume Aikido is rough and painful from all the throwing and twisting, this is not true though. Yes no deny we humans tend to be spoon feed a lot and sometimes or should i say always too lazy to start thinking bout things or how things work or the reason behind why things are that way. We take things for granted and how it is because it is just the way it is. No question asked.

I also thought to myself at that moment. I use to do intensive training when I just started, still do actually. I train 4 times a week and when I just started it really took a lot of my strength and often I felt as though my back was going to fall apart. I would come back each day with muscles and bones aching and also getting injured. Adding up with my "excellent" sleeping habits in the early...real early mornings. It's just not good for my body at all.

Back to what I wanted to say, I felt that training this much is only making me memorize things or should I say I'm emphasizing on muscle memory more then depending or training my reflexes. I use to want to be good, to be recognize or at least be somewhere good enough to achieve something, thus practicing a lot at the start really made me seem some improvement in myself, I obviously felt happy with what I learnt and all. The longer I practised, I soon realize that I'm no longer improving or I don't see myself improving. Tony Smibert once said in his seminar that in Aikido, you would see yourself improving and then not moving and then improving again. This pretty much related to a human learning curve if you ask me.

Tony Smibert Sensei is 6th Dan. Vice-President of Australia Aiki-kai and the Vice-Chairman of the International Aikido Federation

Sometimes I felt less motivated when I don't learn anything, classes don't seem interesting and boring at times but I still went on. Knowing that this feeling of unwillingness and not motivated will eventually go off. I guess this very much apply in life too, sometimes when we are given a job or something to do which is not at our interest at all, it seems like it takes a lifetime to complete that task. If we actually stick to it and finish it, sometimes things wouldn't be that bad.

Thing that we do in life don't always get better and eventually when things stop getting better we shouldn't give up or lose out motivation. Carry on and maybe things would get better, and if gets worst..I would say not to give up, sure talking is cheap but there's no other choice right? Moving forward and constantly moving forward is something not everyone is capable of doing. It's is normal to stop a while and rest but many would see it as being left behind the pack. I've live most of my life doing things alone and I don't agree that one always needs a pack to migrate, sure it's a bonus to have a partner but sometimes it's a test from God or whoever is up there to let us see and realize the challenge in life.

Sexy version of Harry Potter

Harry Potter - Sexy Version - The best bloopers are here

Those who were fan of Hermione Jean Granger, this is a real spiced up version of her. RAMAN

MANY Singaporeans have been seeking help from doctors on how to have sexual intercourse, Sin Chew Daily reported yesterday.

Singapore Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) founder Dr Cheng Wei Chen said the hospital received several people every month, mostly university graduates, seeking their guidance on how to “do it”.

Its urology senior consultant Dr Lin Fa Cai said he once treated a woman who was married for 10 years and supposedly had sex more than 1,000 times, but was still a virgin.

Dr Lin said the husband, who had a doctorate degree, and his wife, who complained of being unable to conceive, sought help at the hospital.

“The couple told me they had sex about three times a week but when I examined the wife, her hymen was still intact.

“He had a doctorate degree but zero knowledge on sex,” he said.

Another doctor, who declined to be named, said a couple in their 30s sought help from Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Centre for failing to conceive after seven years of marriage.

He said he found no problem with the couple but later discovered that the husband withdrew just before ejaculating.

My question here is...how does one "married for 10 years and supposedly had sex more than 1,000 times, but was still a virgin."? Where did he enter?black hole?

Having a doctorate degree now really proves you don't know much huh?all that time researching and googling..didn't bring him to any X-rated sites. I guess I'm cheapskate or something to bring someone or even my own self to such a fancy place. That is also why I'm writing this post, I WANT TO DINE THERE to find out and also experience their "nutty/crazy" services..atleast that was what I saw in some blogs. They recorded videos of birthday parties theres.

T.G.I Fridays has also had a long history dated back from 1965, in New York. Don't really know when did they touch or step foot in Malaysia but it certainly took off the "dating place" from The Ship Restaurant. I remember back in those days it was either The Ship or Victoria Station and these days the younger crowd are going to Friday's. At least that is what i felt or see.

from my busy body surfing i found the history page of T.G.I Friday's

and for those "jakun" like me who didn't know there is only 7 outlets in Malaysia! and yet they are so well known...so there must be something there that is great rite?

View Local Website Of course now i may sound like some expert here saying these things but i can assure you I'm not all that smart or anything that you are thinking. I'm just saying that there are tons of people who are damn LAZY which is just the problem to why a lot are still jobless after graduating for a year or so.

Not having the initiative to learn, not willing to work or do anything more and of course demanding a high pay...who on earth would wanna hire such a person?i wouldn't if you disagree please please please do tell me that your dad owns a company and i would send in a resume and please do assure me a place yea?

to come to such conclusion i have been speaking to a number...a big enough number..how many some would ask?i give a rough number of somewhere from 30-50 students who were in college who thinks that they would land themselves a job somewhere by doing just their homework. i am a student too and hell yea i know the hardships of classes, homework's, last minute homework and all that crap, what made me different from most of the freshies i know now is that i don't and never did whine bout my workload. The reason is simple..i know its my fault for not managing my time well enough, i slack most of the time and very much often procrastinate like 90% of my life when it comes to these things. I don't even do home work back in my high school days. i don't club or drink or hang out late nites in the streets. i just do whatever i can to not do my homework...sleeping for instance.

so you there who's reading this may ask yourself and try to think hard what did you do all the time or this week that made you not complete this assignment that is due in 24 hours time?or worst...3 hours. Isn't it time management that is your problem or you're gonna give the old excuse..the lecturers are not human..they give us tons ...more then we can handle in such short period. so...when it comes to the real world (working life) and you got a bunch of stuff that is due in a short period..what would be your excuse? i would assume the manager is nuts! he thinks I'm superman or something.

the hard truth is that We...or the younger generation has been pampered so badly from the schooling days and spoon fed all the way that we don't know or don't want to work for our self and often rely on others. we expect tips when there's an exam...we always say there's too much to study but little do we realize that it isn't too hard to score or pass if we do listen to what our lecturer lectures and go back and read more on it. of course i didn't do any of this =) but I'm saying it because i know if i did it i wouldn't be in this spot today...rite?

so as we adopt and keep up this excellent habit of ours...we then find it hard to get jobs. why?because we learn nothing during our uni days.

then comes the scenario where some would say..i want to go overseas to study and at least my degree would have a better name and reputation and what so ever..oh really? if you go overseas and do what you do in Malaysia do you think that you would even pass your exams?do you think they would allow you to plagiarise like how you always do in Malaysia? copy + paste from www.wikipedia.org HELL NO. I'm not sure what went through most people mind about going overseas but from my personal experience there was a big obvious case of being bias and other lots of crap. I definitely wasn't treated equally as the other students who were local and of course different skin color. nay you say? well...believe me not then, but I know what i went through. This may not apply to everyone but it is a matter of luck.

what I learn from abroad is that you need to be independent, learn your self without supervision and minimal help. friends may not help you if you suck but whatever it is (maybe you got all kiasu asses in class)..learning to learn yourself was something i picked up in college and has always believe in this sayings "college and any higher education isn't there to teach you but to teach you to learn yourself" and so very true it was. But i cant help but see the amount of younger people then me relying so much on the lecturer and all.

what would the future of job employment be if we hire all babies in to the company who knows nothing?
