You do not need to go anywhere far away, which will save you on the gas and travel expenses. Choose a hotel that offers amenities that you enjoy, such as hot tubs, workout rooms, on site programs and shopping. That way, you never need to leave the hotel to really enjoy your weekend.

Staying Close To Home

When you stay close to home like this, you benefit from a lower price tag, but you do not have to sacrifice a lot to get this benefit. For example, you may have a nice luxury hotel located within 30 minutes of your home. You decide to check in on Friday night and to check out on Sunday. The hotel costs $150 a night and they provide a free breakfast both days. For that amount of money, you and your loved one can check in on Friday evening, have dinner and catch a movie in your room. Saturday you could spend getting an in house massage, spend a few hours swimming in the hotel's pool and then do some shopping. There may be a park located nearby or a museum you wish to go to. All of this is within just a few feet for the hotel.

Although you may not think you are getting far enough away, you can make it feel that way. Turn off your cell phones to keep you from being tempted to go back home. Make a promise not to get in the car until you check out on Sunday. Anything you do needs to be in walking distance of the hotel. As you can see, this will change your perspective of the city considerably. Moreover, it can be a lot of fun to look at the local surroundings or just hang out and talk in the lobby.

This is an easy budget weekend idea. You do not have to pay for too much gas or spend a small fortune on renting a vehicle. You can make it even more affordable by packing snacks to take with you and store in the room. The key is just to get away. If you stay at a luxury hotel, you will feel like you are far away from the stresses at home.

A Family Camping Experience In France

Experiencing France for the first time is something a family should do. Touring the main cities and seeing the known landmarks can be quite a memorable experience but what a more exciting one awaits you outside the busy streets of the urban landscape. A family camping experience in France is a great opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and at the same time get a chance to see France in a whole different light.

The country’s rural landscape, the scenic vineyards, valleys, beaches and mountain landscapes can give your family the perfect holiday memory that will last them a lifetime.

Bringing your whole family to France for a holiday camping trip can be quite tricky. This is especially true when you’re working under a budget. This means looking for various means to shave off the expenses. You need to plan the trip in advance to get discounted airline tickets. The early planning will also help you find a good campsite and will give you some time to book or reserve camp accommodations if needed.

Some campsites in France do require advance bookings especially the more popular ones which have a limit to the number of campers in the site. Nonetheless, there are other smaller and more personal campsites scattered in France so I do believe that you won’t fail in getting a campsite for your family.

Probably the best way to come about selecting a campsite is to decide on where in France you would actually like to visit. Brittany for example has several great campsites that offer discounted prices for family campers and tourists alike. So you have to talk among yourselves and select an area in France where you want to go.

This is a family trip so it would be best to arrive at a family consensus so the experience becomes more worthwhile and memorable. You don’t want any bickering happening during your vacation so before you set out make sure everyone is happy with the selected place.

After you determine where to go, it would be not the best time to finalize the best time to actually fly to France and enjoy a holiday of camping. The months from May to September are usually the open season for campsites in France with July and August being the most ideal time because of the wonderful weather during these two months. You’ll find more entertainment and attractions open in these two months so if you want a quieter vacation for your family you might want to book earlier or even during September.

When you set out to France, be sure to bring your camping gear with you although, some campsites do have camping facilities including tents or similar camping accommodations. So it would be best to ask the campsite for details regarding the facilities and services being offered so you would know the specific camping gear and equipment to bring. If you do opt on a campsite that offers the bare necessities then it is recommended that you bring all your gear with you. Camping equipment can be quite expensive in France especially during the peak season.

A family camping experience in France is something that you can tell stories of to your grandchildren. It is definitely a great and unique experience. It is a good vacation trip and it is certain, with proper planning, your whole family will enjoy.

Top Surfing Destinations: The Best Places to Test Your Surfing Skills

As a surfer, you are always on the lookout for new destinations to surf in. Using a bike to get to places also means in New York City that you will not be stuck in New York’s busy streets and traffic jams. Parking in New York City is expensive and can easily go to thirty, forty or more dollars a day. When traveling the Big Apple by bike, these costs can be drastically reduced. Bicycles can be parked for free in many spots very close to sights and other attractions and generally it is very hard to get a ticket for wrong parking or speeding on a bicycle.

Many places offer guided tours for bicycling through New York City. A guide can lead you safely through the city and offer his knowledge about the sights. A good guide can tell you about the diversity and specialties of certain neighborhoods show you how many New Yorkers reach their jobs and also show you the ins and outs for bicyclists in New York. One advantage of bicycle tours through the Big Apple is the coverage of a large area and many sights in a short amount of time. If you are thinking you will loose the flair of a walk through New York that is just not the case. You are still connected to the streets and the people when traveling on your bicycle.

When deciding to take a bicycling tour through New York, you need to decide whether you want to bring your own bike or rent one in New York.

Central Park, for example, offers a big rental station for bicycles to supply eager customers with their wheels. Since you are most likely to only spend a few days, max a week of discovering New York City on two wheels, a rental is in most cases a better choice. The hassles of transporting a bicycle to New York and back home are often just as expensive as renting a bicycle and it is not easy to transport your bicycle from farther away cities or even overseas. But on the other hand, when renting a bike, it might not be of such high quality than the one you are used to or handling is harder than usual. But for a short tour as well as for a week long tour through New York rented bicycles do the trick.

Whether it is a family trip or a single person’s trip in New York, many guided tours offer something for every taste and if participating in a group cycling tour through the city it does not matter if you are single or with a group, you will have fun and be amazed what the Big Apple has to offer seen from a bicycle.

Going Green For The Holidays

If the recent media frenzy over going green has got you concerned, now is the time to begin using recycled materials and products to decorate for Christmas. Not only are there many companies and individuals that crafts Christmas decorations from recycled material, decorators can do the very same. Not only is this a more cost effective way of decorating, it is also doing something for the environment making it an even better way to prepare for the holidays. Some may believe that using recycled materials would be hard or more time consuming, but it really isn’t in fact it may be easier and it is definitely less harsh on the pocketbook. Here are some ideas of how you can save the environment and decorate for the holiday at the very same time.

Everyone loves to have the biggest and best Christmas decorations for all to see. After all, this is the time of year when friends and family gather at homes, viewing all that the homeowner has done. Most people want to be the talk of the town with their wonderful and festive home, and this is possible while still using recycled goods. How about those old cigar boxes, glass jars or even plastic grocery bags? That’s right; they can all be used when creating that next holiday decoration.
Cigar boxes or other containers can be cleaned, painted and decorated to hold greenery, flower arrangements or even a set of candles that are beautifully decorated for Christmas. Instead of throwing those boxes out to set in the landfill now they can be of use and good use at that. Glass jars, bowls and other broken pieces can be used as well by adding ribbon or other fabric to cover in the cracks or chips that they may have. It is important however, to ensure that they will not be a danger two small children or anyone else that may be using or admiring them.
Filling these glass pieces with candy, potpourri or other decorative items can create a great decoration and also one that can be used over and over again. In fact, the colors and contents can be changed to then be used for the next upcoming holiday! Always having a festive and well decorated home is the key to Christmas cheer!

One of the most environmental savings is reusing those plastic bags that come from the grocery stores. These bags can be used to stuff cloth Santa Claus decorations or other fabric pieces! This keeps the bags out of the landfill and helps the environment one bag at a time!

Tips on Finding Discount Hotels for Last Minute Travel

Traveling at the last minute can be inconvenient: you need to pack up a lot of clothes in order to get to where you want to go, but you need only a little time to make sure that you pack your clothes well and that you don't miss anything or forget any of your necessities and toiletries.

You need to get your tickets, have a ready schedule of all the things that you are supposed to do – and book a hotel without having to spend a lot of money on having a last minute trip. A lot of travel agencies and hotels know this tendency of people to do things at the last minute, and they promptly up their rates so that they can get more money out of last minute travelers.

There are ways that you can avoid this, however, whether you are anticipating a lot of last minute travel, or you're already in the fray and looking for a place to stay in. there will be no dearth of discounts especially if you are in a tourist friendly city, where a lot of hotels just can't wait to get clients or customers no matter what time of the year, no matter how long it took for you to make the booking.

One way to avoid ever getting bad rates is to actually talk to your travel agent beforehand and ask for discount rates for hotels just in case the day comes when you actually need those discount rates for some last minute travel. Your agent may have contacts at some hotels, and at some hotel chains that will extend their services abroad, so you can talk to your travel agent about what rates are good even before you need them.

Another way to get good discount hotels for last minute travel is to do last minute travel during non-peak months in a certain country or location. Of course this looks counterintuitive, but if you suddenly want to go on a vacation and want to go immediately, and you are at a non-peak time, then this can be a great way for you to save money, and by simply going during a time when all hotels will have discounts anyway.

Still another way is to book your last minute hotel stay online. There are actually many online discounts for hotel bookings to begin with, and last minute bookings may even have some special discounts attached to them as long as you are not bumping up against a hotel that has a lot of guests on its reservations list. You can also access hotels online through kiosks in your international or local airport, so if you're at the airport and waiting for your flight, or if you have downtime between your packing sessions, you can go online and quickly make your bookings.

Lastly, if you're already at a location and it's the last minute, look for a hostel or pension house first. This way, you can spend the night or the first two nights at a decent location, keep yourself safe and sleeping soundly, and then get to see the sights while looking for a hotel.

Who knows? You may actually like your cheaper lodgings, especially if you're after the sights all the time and will spend more time outside than in!

Can You Find Cheap Last Minute Travel Deals?

Can You Find Cheap Last Minute Travel Deals?

6 Ways How...

The early bird gets the worm. This is why if you book your flights or hotel room early, you get good deals for your punctuality. But sometimes, last minute travel can't be avoided. And we know what that means… since you're booking flights last minute, you sometimes have to pay more. So can you still find cheap last minute travel seats and accommodations? Here are tips to make sure you do:

Use your frequent flyer status.
Membership does have its advantages and it is even more so in case you need to make cheap last minute travel arrangements. If you are a member of an airline's frequent flyer program, then you will be considered as a privileged passenger. That means you can take advantage of an age-old practice that airlines are still upholding today – reserving a few tickets for their VIPs.

If you need to make last minute travel, go ahead and flash them your card. You also get to earn a few bonus points in the process.

Go online.
Yep, these days, whenever you need anything, you go online. If you need cheap, last minute travel deals for an airplane ticket, go to the airline's website. There are many of them that display leftover tickets for a particular flight. These are seats that have remained unsold even as the airplane is getting ready for takeoff. You'll get some nice discounts for filling up the seats.

You could buy the tickets online but be ready to dash off to the airport or boarding gate. If you want last minute travel this cheap, you better live up to it.

Got a credit card? Use it.
Some credit card companies offer air miles programs on their cards. Check if yours is affiliated with an airline company. You can take advantage of these offerings in case you need to travel pronto. Plus, you might even collect rewards points as well.

Check if it's that time of the year.
Airfare and hotel prices fluctuate, depending on the season. If you want cheap last minute travel deals, go off season when there are fewer travelers and companies are raring to fill their seats and rooms. You could get a great discount if you only choose to travel when business is slow.

Buy bundled.
Many travel agencies purchase multiple flights and use them to promote package tours. In case your destination is included in these bundles, consider buying a seat. Although most of these trips sell fast, you could find cheap last minute travel with these agencies. This usually happens as the date of departure approaches. If there are packages that have remained unsold, you can be sure that they will be sold at highly discounted prices.

The advantage here is that you not only get to cover the airfare, you also get accommodation (and probably breakfast) thrown in. All in all, that should be way less than the cost of a regular flight and hotel booking.

Sign up for e-mail alerts.
Many airlines and hotels send out alerts regarding great deals on their products. You could take advantage of these in case you need to travel last minute cheaply. Check your e-mail boxes regularly if there's a good deal currently active around the time you have to travel. Just be careful, though.

If you go this route, make sure you really are going to travel. Most of these companies offer these deals as non-refundables.

The Best Skiing Vacation Destinations All Over the World

During the winter season, most people can’t help but think about spending the winter in a cabin or a hotel in a ski resort where they can do nothing all day but go skiing and do other fun activities in the snow. If, however, you’re looking to sit back and pack in as much of the country as possible, try one of the guided tours of Italy offered by many travel services. You’ll generally get a cheaper deal and you’ll enjoy the country on an air-conditioned coach, complete with an Italian-speaking interpreter.

There are many ways to take guided tours of Italy but many of them start near the top of the country and go southward. The tour can begin in the watery canals of Venice or in the fashion capital of Milan. In Venice, visitors can take a gondola ride and eat in one of the many fine restaurants in the city. The lovely city stretches across numerous small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon that opens into the Adriatic Sea in the northeast part of the country. The city conveniently lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers.

In Milan, a tourist on one of the guided tours of Italy can take a few hours to shop the expensive shops in downtown Milan. Your guides might have purchased tickets for the group at the famous La Scala Theater. The Duomo in Milan is the second largest cathedral in the country. Many guided tours of Italy then head south, through the Tuscan hills and into the ancient and beautiful city of Florence, called “Firenze” in Italy. The Arno River runs through the city, also a location of many museums and churches.

Many go to Florence to see the Ponte Vecchio, a unique old bridge crossing the river that contains many quaint shops and eateries. The Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore is the magnificent domed cathedral within the city. On some guided tours of Florence, you’ll be given time to see its many lovely churches or to see the Uffizi Galleries or the Pitti Palace. Outdoors, one can see a copy of the famed statue of David by Michelangelo or the original one, in the Uffizi Museum.

When you think you’ve seen enough churches, many guided tours of Italy take you to Rome and the Vatican—both places where the churches and cathedrals are extremely wealthy and amazing to see. You’ll also see the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon—all parts of ancient Roman times that have been somewhat preserved. You may also be able to see some catacombs, which were places where early Christians worshipped and buried their dead.

No good visit to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican, including the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. These are wondrous sites that make you wish it were possible to take pictures. You can take as many pictures as you wish of St. Peter’s Square and St. Paul’s Basilica. Hopefully, you’ll be on one of the guided tours of Italy that includes Southern Italy and a visit to the very ancient village of Pompeii. Destroyed by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, it is currently a life-sized museum of what life was like in the average city a millennium ago. It may prove, in fact, to be the highlight of your guided tour.

Some Benefits Of Arizona Traveling Nurses

The US is one of the many countries who have great deal over the nursing profession. Over the years, many foreign graduates are entering the country to land at a very rewarding position in the field. The demand for this position in the country as a whole and in many of its states specifically is so high that there are instances when shortages in the workforce are sometimes experienced. And because of the demands in each state, competition often occurs and the result is travel nursing.

Travel nursing is becoming so famous today. In fact, many hospitals in each state offer great deals for nurses who wish to travel nurse and be part of the hospitals’ team. Arizona is one of the many states that base hospitals that accept travel nurses. Arizona traveling nurses are offered so many benefits that can help in the improvement of their skills and living in general.

The place where the Grand Canyon lies is the same place that homes best traveling nurses in the country. Comparable to the grandeur of the natural icon is the performance and the skills of the nurses in this state. This is primarily a result of the policies of the state and the hospitals therein with regard to travel nursing and similar careers.

Arizona is simply the best place to consider when deciding to travel nurse in the country. Aside from the magnificent atmosphere and working environment, the benefits are simply incomparable. So why really choose travel nursing? Here are some perfect reasons and benefits:

1. Unlike the normal career in nursing or the resident nursing, the salary in travel nursing is basically higher. In the country, almost 15% to 20% is the difference in the salary of a travel nurse. Aside from this, travel nurses are given other incentives that are due for a regular nurse such as holiday pay and increments.

Bonuses are also another benefit of travel nurses. Overtime is also part of the compensation program that is set by most hospitals in Arizona. So basically, in terms of employment, travel nursing has an edge over those in regular nursing field.

2. Because of the exigency of the need, hospitals or agencies offer oftentimes free accommodation. Housing facilities are prepared and offered to travel nurses with out any expense.

3. Unlike some distant employment programs, travel nurses’ fees are most of the time covered by the agency they belong. Included in the fees are the cost of travel and other miscellaneous expenses. Because of this, Arizona traveling nurses are given opportunity to visit places in line with their work that other professions are deprived of.

4. Lastly, because of the wide and diverse exposure of the nurse to different kinds of medical cases, his/her knowledge on a particular area improves. It has been in place to protect the boarders of China since about 5 B.C. Of course it has been reworked on a great deal since that time. Many workers have spent their entire life working on various parts of the great wall of China. Some employees have died during this work as well due to common construction accidents. It is estimated at least 3 million people have fallen to such a fate over the years.

The Great Wall of China is more than 4,000 miles in length in case you are trying to imagine it. You are going to find many different materials used in various parts of the wall as well. In the old sections rocks and projectile were essentially used. Anyhow, this gave way to the use of bricks.

Numerous places feature tiles as well to give them a very nice look. Along the Great Wall of China there are several entry ways. Numerous of them are so well designed that you can not tell where they are compared to the stationary wall parts.

Even though the Great Wall of China is a common tourist attraction, many of the local people do not like it. They often feel like this wall is a barrier between them and the rest of the world. This is why parts of it have been destroyed from time to time. Areas have also become targets of graffiti even though there is security out there watching the wall.

Today the upkeep of the Great Wall of China is not what it once was. The cost of it is simply too great. The fact that China now has other means of protecting themselves against invasions has made the need for it basically obsolete. Utmost of the safeguard towers along the stretches of the Great Wall of China have been abandoned as well.

Even so, the Great Wall of China stands as a mnemonic of what this nation has done to shelter its earth. Quite than being fearful of others attempting to take them over they worked hard to offer a full line of protection. This is a great part of the history of China and therefore the wall is going to likely always remain in place.

Best Destinations for Cheap Romantic Vacation Getaway

Who says money can’t buy happiness? Its glorious beaches and Mediterranean coastline are among the top attractions the country provides. Athens, the capital city of Greece, is one of the most visited cities in Greece.

Greece was considered as China and Austria’s number one choice of tourist destination.

The popular cities of Greece include Athens (Attica) and the capital of Greece; Santorini, Cyclades, and Fira (Oia) that sits on the edge of a cliff; Mykonos, Hora, and Cyclades that are popular islands packed with clubs and bars; Rhodes that is popular for its Colossus of Rhodes, included in the Seven Wonders of the World; and Heraklion, the capital of Crete.

Since the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, infrastructures have greatly improved. Hotels and different kinds of accommodations have been put up to cater tourists and the locales.

Those who prefer spas and thermal springs will benefit from the 752 therapeutic thermo-metallic springs as approved by the National Institute for Geographical and Mineral Research.

From the hundreds of interesting vacation hot spots in Greece, one will have difficulty I choosing where they want to make base and visit. And so, to make deciding a lot easier, here are the following places a newbie in Greece should visit.

Cape Sounio

Choose between a car or a bus to take you up the beautiful road which leads to Cape Sounio. See beaches and enjoy the shade of olive trees. Exclusivity and intimacy is the atmosphere in Cape Aounio because you will rarely come across other tourists in the area. It's something that can give you and your family momentous experiences and priceless memories that can last for a lifetime. The family bonding experience with nature at hand is simply indescribable.

If you're new to this sport and wonderful past time, there are some things that you should know before you go on with your deep sea fishing trip. It is indeed one big adventure for you and your family. However, you should consider some things first to make your trip a successful one. Other than not forgetting to bring your camera, for those momentous snapshots, here are some things that you have to think about before even making some plans.

Judgment Time: Are They Capable?

First off, you should take a realistic look at your family's abilities and age. Let's face it, you can't really maximize a deep sea fishing trip if you're kids are still infants or toddlers. If you're deciding on what kind of excursion to have, deliberating on thesekinds of factors are important too.

In case you'll be getting the service of a charter boat, this would play an important factor too, since most boat companies have set age limits. Generally, age limits start at about eight years old. You should understand that companies set these kinds of rules to guarantee safety on your part.

Additionally, you should consider the duration of how long you'd want to be on water. Most inexperienced fishermen would usually prefer half-day trips, so that it wouldn't be that stressful and still be enjoyable for the whole family. On the other hand, lifelong and expert anglers would definitely want to have overnight trips. However, regardless of how long or short you have been fishing, you should still remember your family's physical comfort would affect the trip's overall enjoyment. Factors such as attitude and age play important roles on how can your family adjust with a temporary boat life.

Be Distance Conscious

Another important consideration is how far away your target fishing location is from your home. The packages that you may encounter can vary greatly, depending on the company. This means the provisions that they'll give to you on the boat would alsodiffer. If you will be travelling a huge distance just to fish, you might be more interested in availing packages that are all inclusive, which provides you with everything you'd need for the trip.

However, packages like these are usually hard to find, and of course, they are way more expensive than those for average day trip packages. An average package usually provides you bait and tackle. But if you'll need a license, some packages already include it, while some can charge you extra for the cost.

Know The Terms
Generally, boats would ask you to bring your own hats, sunglasses, clothing, sun block, medications for motion sickness and everything else that you think isimportant to bring. Make sure that you are clothed appropriately with a number of warm layers, since it would be colder when you're on water than being on shore.

Also, most of the day trip packages would ask you to bring your own food. If this is the case, you should plan accordingly. Try to pack items that are easy on your stomach, just in case that waters will be rough.

Indulge In A Greek Island Vacation

Greece

Greece is a country in the Southeastern point of Europe, occupying an area of 131, 957 square kilometers and a population amounting to about 11,000,000. With this in mind, many places are offering vacations with a difference. A place and time to learn what we are able to do to lessen the impact we make on the earth itself.

Some places even offer courses up to master's level for those men and women interested in ecology. Many of these places are running farms capable of sustaining themselves as well as those in the local community.

All fruit and vegetables, for an example, are grown without the use of chemicals and sometimes without the use of machinery! - a very 'hands-on' approach not usually seen in this day and age.
One of these ventures in particular is trying to re-introduce the concept of local men and women connecting to the food supply being grown literally in its own backyard instead of buying everything in plastic bags at the supermarket.

Accommodation is sometimes on the farm itself or in the local community giving the holiday-maker a chance to revisit rural America in a rather unique way. Children are given a small taste of what life was like before computers and designer labels took over.

This may not be everyone's dream holiday, indeed it may take some kind of persuasion from parent to child, but I am not able to help feeling that we have to take a chance, perhaps once in a while, to experience something completely different. This is certainly one for the more adventurous amongst us!

Dude Ranches And Fine Wine

These terms may sound as if they are at odds with one another but both are on offer, and in the same place, in the United States.

Gone are the days when dude ranches were the place to go to get down and dirty with the horses. These days? You are able to ride out and do all those 'horsey' things like rounding up cattle and helping with the branding, but when the day is over you are going to find what is on offer is far removed from the franks and beans from days gone by.

Gourmet dinners served with fine wines are the order of the day. What better way to ease those aching muscles and tired bones after a hard days riding than to be pampered by fine dining and excellent service?

Today's urban cowboy demands more than your old time cowboys. Imagine you have spent the best part of the year cooped up in an air conditioned, environment controlled, building dealing with noisy telephones and tight deadlines.

What better way to get away from it all than to spend the day under deep blue skies, riding the range, and coming home not to a camp-fire although I am sure they are going to be there! but to exquisitely cooked food and perfectly chilled wine?

The kids are able to come too! There are many ranches that cater for the youngsters with riding lessons thrown in. Let them help with mucking out and feeding the young animals. They are going to love it!
