Fred Buyle is a freediver and uw photographer born in 1972. Since his childhood he has been in contact with the sea, spending several months a year on the family’s sailboat. At the age of 10, he discovers free diving. After years of practice, he becomes scuba diving instructor and started to teach free diving in 1991.

He sets his 1st world record in 1995 and then decides to dedicate his life to freediving. He achieves three more world records between 1997 and 2000. In 1999, Frederic passes the100m’s mythical barrier on one breath of air, being the 8th person to do so. In 2002, he starts underwater photography to show the beauty of freediving and the underwater world.

Fred comes from an artistic background. His grand grand father was a pioneer of photography in the 1890’ as well as art collector, his grand father was a painter and his father an advertising and fashion photographer during the 60’. His work shows these various inﬂuences. All his pictures and images are taken in freediving action and using only available light in order to minimise the impact on the ecosystem.

To take his pictures Fred uses a simple formula: the water, available light, a camera and one breath of air. A freediver is able to capture unique moments thanks to his simple equipment and ease of movement. Fred has been taking pictures down to 60m on single breath of air on remote locations where scuba divers can’t access. What makes Fred’s photography different from any other underwater photography is his rather zen approach to this media.

Concerned by conservations issues for many years, in 2005 Fred Buyle starts to work with marine biologists to assist them in their field work. He uses his freediving abilities to approach the animals and perform tasks such as acoustic and satellite tagging or DNA sampling. Fred collaborated with teams from Colombia, Mexico, France, UK, Philippines and South Africa to provide them his practical knowledge and experience in the water with marine life. He worked with great white sharks, great hammerheads, scalloped hammerheads, lemmon sharks and ferox sharks, humpback whales, spermwhales and orcas amongst others. He always uses freediving and no protection cage to minimize the disturbance on the animals.

During these missions, Fred documents the field work to contribute to conservation on a larger scale through talks, conferences. Numerous NGO’s are using his material for their conservation campaigns. His approach to conservation pushes forward the concept of positive imagery versus the catastrophism widely used in the media nowadays.

Guido Gutierrez Ruiz is a talented Spanish photographer, who loves using his smartphone to take pictures. Ruiz has amassed 15,000 Instagram followers who are all hooked on his creative shots, which showcase some of the world's most famous cities as they've never been seen before. He encounters during his travels all over places like Canada, Spain, England and Portugal.

On the project, he writes on Bored Panda's website: "Many people don’t like rain, but the puddles left behind can be more than magical. Every time I see a puddle I take out my smartphone and put my camera lens as close as I can get to the puddle and capture its parallel world. These are some of my puddle reflections I have taken in different cities."

Todd Kawasaki is an award winning landscape photographer living on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Like many that grew up on Maui, Todd spent much of his time around the ocean enjoying the year round tropical weather. From a young age he developed a great appreciation for nature and the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. Todd’s photographic journey documents that deep appreciation of Mother Nature.

Andoni Beristain studied Graphic Design at Elisava University (Barcelona) and made a postgrade in Photography at IDEP (Barcelona). He's also in love with his camera, "Peperoni III". Born Basque (Zumarraga), the world saw him for the first time on the 5th of October, 1989. He started traveling in 2006 and it was when he got to London when he discovered what photography really was at Saint Martins College. He now lives in Barcelona and has done commissions for Neo2 Magazine, Beatriz Preciado, Brosmind, Monarchy, New Balance, Ied Madrid, Buvo or Make Your Suit amongst others. Michael Christopher Brown was raised in the Skagit Valley, a farming community in Washington State. Often using a camera phone as a primary recording device, his current work documents conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Sakhalin (2008), he captured the remote Russian island, while Broadway (2009) focused on New Yorkers amidst the financial crisis. He also put together a series of works from road and train trips throughout China (2009/2010) and, as a contributing photographer at National Geographic Magazine, published several adventure stories with the publication. In 2011, he documented the Libyan revolution using a camera phone, exploring ethical distance and the iconography of warfare. The subject of the 2012 HBO documentary Witness: Libya, his photographs from Libya were shown at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Instituto Cervantes (New York), The Museum of Fine Arts (Houston), the Annenberg Space for Photography and the Brooklyn Museum.

Dato Koridze is Georgian (The country, not the state). Born & raised in Tbilsi, this art lover studied theology but ended up hosting a musical radio show for 4 to 5 hours a day. Photography came a little bit later, when four years ago, he shot a couple of pictures with a friend’s camera. He then, instantly knew he could do it, and do it with passion. Inspired by people (and most importantly his grandma as he says it himself), emotions, feeling, and beauty as he sees it in each person, he takes great portraits, trying to show his point of view, his own emotion, and the story behind each face. James Chororos is a photographer and former architect living in Manhattan and working in Brooklyn. In 2012, James left his position at Studio Daniel Libeskind to concentrate on photography full-time. In 2013, American Photo Magazine named James one of their emerging photographer's to watch, he was selected as an emerging talent for aphotoeditor's Art Producer's Speak series, and was nominated for PDN's list of 30 photographers to watch.
